PTYS Chapter 82

Death Class 7 (6)

Behind the two, a face as dry as jerky pressed against the glass, bulging eyes staring straight into the dormitory, making a wheezing sound like a broken bellows.

“Woo woo,” the other four people were on the verge of collapse, whimpering and about to cry.

Xiao Muyu’s heart was almost pounding out of her chest, causing waves of pain.

“What… what’s it doing?” Xiao Muyu squeezed out a sentence through her teeth.

Shen Qingqiu’s face was a bit pale, but her expression was very calm. She glanced at Xiao Muyu and whispered, “It’s looking for someone.”

“Who?”

Shen Qingqiu didn’t speak. Xiao Muyu thought of something, her face changed slightly, “Did you see its eyes?”

Shen Qingqiu put her index finger on Xiao Muyu’s lips, shushing her softly, then shook her head with a slight smile. She then reached out and covered Xiao Muyu’s eyes.

Xiao Muyu felt a chill in her heart; that thing had come inside!

Screams rang out one after another, and a rancid, sour smell spread throughout the dormitory.

Though her eyes were tightly covered by Shen Qingqiu, Xiao Muyu’s nose and ears remained sharp.

She heard a cold wind blow through. Shen Qingqiu moved, accompanied by the sound of a dagger clashing with something hard, and Shen Qingqiu’s usual cold and arrogant voice, “Get away from her!”

Shen Qingqiu hadn’t closed her eyes or avoided it! This realization made Xiao Muyu lose her composure completely.

She wasn’t sure what the consequences of looking into that thing’s eyes were, but one thing was clear: she couldn’t let Shen Qingqiu face it alone.

This clearly ill-intentioned woman had forced her way into Xiao Muyu’s heart, just like their encounter at dusk, leaving her no room for rejection.

After Shen Qingqiu made her move, Xiao Muyu grabbed the hand covering her eyes, holding it tightly, and saw the situation clearly.

The four girls who had been hiding under the blankets all sat up, staring blankly at Xiao Muyu and the half-dead body protruding through the window.

Shen Qingqiu’s dagger had cut a deep gash in the dry corpse’s neck, her face showing undisguised killing intent.

Noticing Xiao Muyu’s actions, Shen Qingqiu’s expression changed drastically. She turned her head in disbelief.

At the same time, the empty eyes of the dry corpse emitted a glowing green light, quickly locking onto Xiao Muyu, causing her to feel dizzy, as if her soul was being sucked away.

Countless scenes flashed through her mind like a revolving lantern, various forms of accidental death, all involving herself.

But this feeling didn’t last long because Shen Qingqiu grabbed the dormitory bed rail and swiftly climbed up.

She then leaped up, thrusting the dagger into its right eye, gouging out the already shrunken, bean-sized eyeball.

She gritted her teeth and said, “I told you to stay away from her. Look at her again, and I’ll gouge out your other eye!”

A howl echoed through Dormitory 312. The tall, thin corpse retracted its body, covering its face, staggering around outside like a stilt-walker who couldn’t stand steady.

Strangely, despite all the noise, only their dormitory was filled with cries and howls; the other dormitories were silent.

A gust of wind swept in, and the dry corpse, mixed with a pile of dead leaves, reached in through the window again, its shroud dirty and tattered.

That brown, shriveled face emerged from the tattered cloth, screaming and almost touching Shen Qingqiu’s face.

The scene was so horrifying that the four girls convulsed and went limp, their screams finally ceasing.

Shen Qingqiu frowned, tilted her head, and delivered another clean, decisive blow, saying darkly, “If you dare come again, I won’t stop until I’ve gouged out your other eye!”

Perhaps Shen Qingqiu’s fierce demeanor and ruthless actions were too much for the corpse. Despite its reluctance, it hurriedly retreated, roaring a few times before actually withdrawing.

Shen Qingqiu watched it warily, then coldly said, “Close the window!”

“Bang!” The glass window slammed shut, shaking.

Xiao Muyu: “…”

“Xiao Muyu, have you lost your mind? What were you doing just now?”

Xiao Muyu hadn’t recovered from the shock. Shen Qingqiu, who usually smiled warmly and seemed mild-tempered, was now coldly scolding her. Xiao Muyu, who had never seen Shen Qingqiu like this, was momentarily stunned, her mouth slightly open, staring at her.

Shen Qingqiu’s face was dark, her eyes cold, and her slender eyebrows tightly knit. Her voice was icy.

Yet, incongruously, Xiao Muyu found herself thinking that no wonder even ghosts were afraid of Shen Qingqiu. This woman was indeed terrifying when she lost her temper.

Seeing Xiao Muyu remain silent, still staring at her, Shen Qingqiu’s anger grew.

She let out a cold laugh, “If you want to die so badly, you don’t need to look for that thing. I can fulfill your wish right now.”

Xiao Muyu glanced at the dagger in her hand, then said lightly, “How do you plan to fulfill it?”

Shen Qingqiu was so angry she could barely breathe, taking several deep breaths through gritted teeth.

“You told me not to look into its eyes, but what about you?” Seeing Shen Qingqiu almost shaking with anger, Xiao Muyu softened her tone, asking.

“I couldn’t avoid it. Couldn’t I at least protect you? You had to pull my hand away! Did you even listen to what I told you before?” The more Shen Qingqiu spoke, the angrier she became.

“Are you that afraid of it? Just now, you didn’t hesitate to gouge out its eye and curse at it.”

Xiao Muyu found herself feeling warm inside despite being scolded, her voice softening.

Shen Qingqiu’s eyes reddened with anger, her brows furrowing as she said through gritted teeth, “I’m not afraid of it. I’m afraid of you being… You should know what it feels like to be seen by it. Tonight, it’s not here to kill, but to choose.”

“You got involved with Luo Zihao as soon as you came here, and I witnessed his fall. Don’t tell me you don’t have any thoughts about it.

“The class is so afraid of us, doesn’t that mean we might be the next unlucky ones?

“This scenario hasn’t turned deadly yet. Do you know what that means? Those images, those scenes…”

“I know,” Xiao Muyu said softly. “That’s why I can’t let you face it alone.”

Shen Qingqiu was about to say something but found herself at a loss for words. Xiao Muyu’s gentle, unyielding words had rendered her speechless.

Shen Qingqiu’s expression became complicated, staring intently at Xiao Muyu.

“If you think we’re the next unlucky ones, we’ll face it together. Acting alone would be more dangerous. Besides, you’re injured. I can’t leave you alone.”

She smiled lightly, “Honestly, you’re pretty scary when you’re angry. Even if it chooses me, I don’t think it’ll dare do anything.”

Shen Qingqiu felt a bit embarrassed, her voice lowering, “An A-level scenario is more difficult. Just now, it had a physical form, so I wasn’t afraid. But if the danger comes as an accident, I’m afraid I won’t be able to protect you.”

She seemed agitated.

“What did you find out?” Xiao Muyu asked.

Shen Qingqiu’s reaction was too strong to be just about the A-level scenario.

“Three students from Class Seven died. Luo Zihao jumped off a building. A boy died a month ago, crushed by a falling wall outside the school, and another girl was killed by a football hitting the back of her head.”

These accidents, while possible, were happening too frequently to be normal.

“You think these accidents are related to the selection?” Xiao Muyu was surprised Shen Qingqiu had uncovered so much.

“Yes, every night there’s a selection, in different forms. This school is a hunting ground.” Shen Qingqiu took a deep breath, speaking softly.

“How do you know this?” Xiao Muyu was puzzled.

Shen Qingqiu glanced at her, her expression complex, then opened the control panel. In a blink, two golden words appeared above her head.

Xiao Muyu’s mouth dropped open slightly, then she burst out laughing.

“Don’t laugh at me. You should have it too. I was reminded by what you said, then activated it and ended up like this.”

The title above Shen Qingqiu’s head was none other than the honor title “School Tyrant” she had earned in a previous scenario.

It came with a description: “School Tyrant, rarity: S, obtainable with a combat output of 15,000/s during a scenario. The School Tyrant is a notorious figure, intimidating everyone, even ghosts.”

When activated, students feared her, teachers worried, and even ghosts were afraid.

Seeing this, Xiao Muyu couldn’t help but laugh, “So you really used it to intimidate people?”

“Intimidate, yes, but as for bullying, are you letting me bully you?” Shen Qingqiu’s lips twitched slightly.

Xiao Muyu glanced at her, “So, you got this information from others?”

“Yes, I cornered someone in the restroom, pressed them against the wall, and forced them to talk. They were so scared, they confessed everything without much coercion.”

Xiao Muyu couldn’t help but laugh. Shen Qingqiu’s words painted a vivid picture.

“But the selection is my guess. In their memory, it’s just a nightmare. The ones who died in the dream usually die in reality too.”

After accidentally seeing the mummy’s eyes, Shen Qingqiu had connected the dots.

Xiao Muyu looked out the window. Shen Qingqiu was probably right.

“Your School Tyrant title is really useful. While Sweetie and I were trying to get information from the class, everyone kept their mouths shut. Your method was much quicker.”

“Sweetie?” Shen Qingqiu suddenly asked.

Xiao Muyu was puzzled, only to see Shen Qingqiu, looking aggrieved, frown, “You’ve known her for such a short time, and you’re already calling her Sweetie? We’ve spent so much time together, even shared a red string, and you still call me by my full name.”

Xiao Muyu was speechless, “Is this what you’re concerned about?”

Just then, the dormitory lights went out with a beep.

Realizing it wasn’t the time, Shen Qingqiu pulled Xiao Muyu back to their bed, watching the window cautiously.

The tall, thin shadow was still there, but it wasn’t facing them. It seemed to be at the next dorm.

“It seems it’s not just us,” Xiao Muyu murmured.

“Everyone in Class Seven is within its selection range. We don’t know exactly what will happen, but tonight won’t be peaceful.”

Shen Qingqiu spoke softly, then added, “There will be another tough battle tonight. Rest first.”

Xiao Muyu admired her composure. That ghost was still outside, yet Shen Qingqiu could rest.

But she was right. Xiao Muyu took off her shoes and lay down, “You’re injured. You need to rest more.”

Shen Qingqiu hummed in agreement.

In the darkness, Xiao Muyu could faintly see Shen Qingqiu’s eyes, bright and pretty, yet mischievous.

Then she saw Shen Qingqiu kick off her shoes and lie down beside her.

Xiao Muyu’s eyes widened, “Shen Qingqiu, what are you doing?”

Shen Qingqiu blinked and whispered, “Resting.”

Xiao Muyu couldn’t help but laugh. Despite the terrifying scene, Shen Qingqiu managed to make her forget everything else.
