PLTRSC Chapter 10

How do I look?

Jiang Tang habitually put his fingers under the pillow before going to bed, and the soft and cool touch made him wake up instantly.

Even though he had realized what was happening, he still pushed himself up and lifted the pillow.

There’s nothing underneath.

Jiang Tang sat up and placed his last bit of hope on the small suitcase at the foot of the bed.

He moved out of bed with difficulty and searched the suitcase carefully twice.

No.

The luggage was packed in such a hurry that Jiang had very few of his things at home, but how could he forget the most important thing?

“Are you crazy? It’s the middle of the night.”

The call was connected after several attempts, and Jiang Zi Ang’s impatient voice came from the receiver.

“Elder Brother.”

This was the first time Jiang Tang had addressed him like this since returning to the Jiang family: “Can you help me check if my pendant is left at home?”

“You are worthy of calling this place ‘home’?” Jiang Ziang sneered, “The pile of junk you left behind has long been cleared out.”

“Where did you clear it?”

“Who knows? Anyway, your garbage only belongs in the trash can,” Jiang Zi Ang cursed a few more times, “You psycho, if you don’t want to sleep, just go and die.”

The call was hung up.

Jiang Tang sat on the floor, staring at the messy suitcase in a daze.

He knew his stuff would be thrown away.

But anything could be thrown away except that pendant.

If Lu Yinghuai’s true lover came back one day, he would still have something to think back about.

In the entire villa, no one was sleeping peacefully except Uncle Chen.

The next morning, when Jiang Tang went downstairs, Lu Yinghuai was sitting on a chair by the window with his legs crossed. He wore a pair of glasses with thin gold rims on his nose, looking gentle and restrained.

The man was wearing a matte black silk shirt with his sleeves casually rolled up, revealing a pair of strong and thin forearms. The computer was placed on the round glass coffee table in front of him, and Lu Yinghuai looked focused.

The sunlight came in from the floor-to-ceiling windows, and looking through the fully transparent glass elevator, Lu Yinghuai’s entire body was glowing.

The man’s slender fingertips tapped lightly on the computer keyboard, but it was like tapping on Jiang Tang’s heart. His uneasy heart miraculously calmed down.

The elevator door opened, Jiang Tang moved out, and sat stiffly in the wheelchair without moving or speaking.

Mr. Lu may be at work and he cannot be disturbed.

Little did he know that Jiang Tang’s figure was on Lu Yinghuai’s computer screen.

He wasn’t working at all. He was just posing while zooming in on Jiang Tang through the surveillance camera.

“Awake?” Lu Yinghuai pretended to have just noticed him, stood up and walked over. The sunlight behind him dazzled Jiang Tang’s eyes. “How did you sleep last night?”

Jiang Tang looked away: “I slept very well.”

Lu Yinghuai naturally noticed the faint blue under his eyes, and thought that maybe he was just not used to it, so he did not expose it.

Jiang Tang was still wearing the same clothes from yesterday. The clothes were at least two sizes larger than his size, and the protruding collarbone at the neckline was particularly eye-catching.

The two looked at each other in silence, and the atmosphere was slightly awkward.

Jiang Tang was not good at speaking, and Lu Yinghuai… he had never interacted with Jiang Tang like this before.

Fortunately, the doorbell rang tactfully, and Lu Yinghuai sent Jiang Tang back to the bathroom on the first floor first: “There are new toiletries in there. If you are not used to them, we will buy more.”

Jiang Tang shook his head slightly.

There was nothing he couldn’t get used to.

However, Jiang Tang had hardly used anything new in the past eighteen years, so he was a little uncomfortable and was extremely careful in his movements, fearing that he might break something.

When Fang Mu walked in carrying several large bags of breakfast, the phone in his pocket was still ringing.

“Mr. Lu, there will be a meeting in half an hour, and Director Lu requires you to be there to preside over it.”

Lu Yinghuai responded casually and pushed the breakfast on the table towards Jiang Tang: “Eat more.”

Jiang Tang’s eyes lit up.

Since Mr. Lu was going out, he didn’t have to find an excuse to go back to the Jiang family.

Lu Yinghuai noticed his reaction and immediately began to reflect on whether he was clinging too closely to Jiang Tang.

The two of them have no emotional foundation, so he should give Jiang Tang more private space.

“Tang Tang,” Lu Yinghuai stood up after watching Jiang Tang finish his meal, “I have some work to do. I’ll go and be back before lunch. You can call me if you need anything.”

He put a piece of paper with his number on it on the table.

When Lu Yinghuai walked to the door, he remembered about the clothes he had spent half an hour choosing in the cloakroom this morning, and I couldn’t help but say, “Tang Tang…”

Jiang Tang looked over blankly.

“What do you think of me wearing this to the office?”

Jiang Tang didn’t know his intention, so he followed his own heart and answered softly, “It looks good.”

As if it was an illusion, Lu Yinghuai curled the corners of his lips in satisfaction.

Fang Mu was so shocked that he took a step back.

No, Mr. Lu doesn’t have facial paralysis?

“I’ll drive myself,” Lu Yinghuai said to Fang Mu, but his eyes were looking deeply at Jiang Tang, “Fang Mu, you stay.”

Fang Mu stopped walking and nodded calmly.

“You can ask Fang Mu to take you out for a walk. I’ll pick you up after the meeting.”

“OK.”

After watching Lu Yinghuai leave, Fang Mu and Jiang Tang looked at each other.

“Mr. Jiang, do you want to go out and play?” It was the first time Fang Mu met Jiang Tang, but his good professional ethics made him behave calmly.

“Please take me to Jiang’s house, Mr. Fang,” Jiang Tang’s voice was calm, unlike the soft and obedient one in front of Lu Yinghuai, “Thank you.”

“Okay.” Fang Mu didn’t ask any more questions.

The car drove smoothly all the way to the Jiang family’s neighbourhood. The Jiang family was in a villa area on the outskirts of the city. Jiang Tang got out of the car and headed straight for the nearest classified trash can.
