PLTRSC Chapter 6

I tried it, it's not delicious

“Have you eaten yet?”

Lu Yinghuai didn’t need to look at Jiang Tang’s expression to know that Jian Tang definitely didn’t believe him, so he changed the subject.

It was no use to express his liking verbally. There’s a long way to go, and he’ll have plenty of opportunities to prove it to Jiang Tang.

Jiang Tang didn’t know whether this was a test or something else. In fact, after Lu Yinghuai entered the Jiang family, he should have noticed that the servants were clearing the table: “I’ve eaten.”

But just like in cartoons and TV dramas, as soon as the protagonist stubbornly said that he was not hungry, his stomach growled.

Jiang Tang looked out the window somewhat awkwardly. If possible, he would like to carry a rocket and leave the earth overnight.

“You’ve eaten,” Lu Yinghuai repeated calmly, as if he hadn’t noticed his embarrassment, “Then just consider this as accompanying me.”

The car turned into a small road in the downtown area and stopped steadily outside an inconspicuous restaurant.

Lu Yinghuai got out of the car, leaned over to pick Jiang Tang up, closed the car door with his backhand, and walked into the store.

“Mr. Lu, my wheelchair…”

“Take it later,” Lu Yinghuai lied without changing his expression, “My skin hunger disease is acting up, so I’ll hold you to relieve it for a bit.”

Jiang Tang blinked blankly.

What disease?

“Skin hunger disease,” Lu Yinghuai seemed to see his doubts and said lightly, “I need to get close to the person I like to relieve it.”

He made up the story about his illness, but he really wanted to hug Jiang Tang.

The young man had a thin body, and the person in his arms felt weightless, yet felt more lively and warm than in his previous life.

It seemed that only by holding Jiang Tang in his arms could he prove that Jian Tang was really still there.

This restaurant may look inconspicuous from the outside, but it is actually hiding a different world inside.

There are several courtyards arranged in an orderly manner, the bluestone path at the entrance was dotted with cobblestones, and the forsythia flowers on both sides are in full bloom, which looks particularly beautiful even at night under the light of the street lamps.

The waiter inside led them into a slightly remote courtyard. The environment was elegant, the light was dim yellow but not ambiguous, and it was not as noisy as an ordinary restaurant. It was very suitable for the two of them.

After Lu Yinghuai sat down, he still held Jiang Tang in his arms, took the tablet on the table, and asked in a gentle voice: “What do you want to eat?”

Jiang Tang lowered her eyes and shrank into Lu Yinghuai’s arms as inconspicuous as possible: “Anything is all right.”

After saying that, as if he was afraid that Lu Yinghuai might misunderstand him, he added, “I’m not picky about food.”

So good.

So obedient that it looked pitiful.

Lu Yinghuai’s eyes felt inexplicably hot, and he uttered a soft “hmm”.

Relying on the memory from his previous life, Lu Yinghuai ordered a few dishes that Jiang Tang liked, and suddenly Lu Yinghuai realized that they were all vegetables.

He thought about it carefully, but couldn’t remember what kind of meat dishes Jiang Tang liked to eat.

Perhaps he paid too little attention to Jiang Tang in his previous life, Lu Yinghuai thought. Fortunately, he had enough time in this life to understand all of Jiang Tang’s preferences from scratch.

He ordered everything on the menu that looked delicious, and only after the dishes arrived did he place Jiang Tang in the chair next to him.

If he wasn’t afraid that Jiang Tang would feel uncomfortable, he would even want to hold him and feed him.

This restaurant had many chefs so the food was served quickly.

Jiang Tang sat next to him, like a quiet little animal. He ate obediently, made little noise, and even had little sense of presence.

Jiang Tang only took a few bites of vegetarian dishes. The food in the bowl was so bland that people didn’t want to even look at it a second time.

Lu Yinghuai was furious. How did the Jiang family treat Jiang Tang? They didn’t even allow the child to eat meat when he was so skinny?

“Why don’t you pick up some food?” Lu Yinghuai picked up a piece of braised pork ribs and put it in his bowl. “If it doesn’t suit your taste, go to another restaurant next time.”

“No.” Jiang Tang lowered his eyelids, pinched the ribs with the tip of his chopsticks, and felt nauseous. His face turned even paler.

This was given to him by Mr. Lu.

He cannot let Mr. Lu down.

Jiang Tang prepared himself mentally, but his hands were shaking slightly.

Memories instantly occupied his mind.

“Hey, don’t say your family treats you unfairly. Today is Ah Hu’s birthday, so you should eat more.”

The middle-aged Alpha with a stubble on his face put a piece of shredded meat into Jiang Tang’s bowl, as if he was giving a hundred yuan to a beggar.

Before Jiang Tang could refuse, the birthday boy Li Hu started to protest with an “ow” and slammed the table while shouting, and the meat in Li Hu’s mouth was spat out before he could even chew it.

Mother Li glared at Jiang Tang instantly, then stood up and slapped him while cursing.

“Eat, eat, eat. You want to eat meat? Here you go!”

She grabbed the meat that Li Hu spat out and stuffed them into Jiang Tang’s bowl.

“Did you burn yourself?” A gentle voice brought him back to reality.

Jiang Tang just realized that the piece of meat had fallen onto his pants. Lu Yinghuai had stood up without him noticing and used a tissue to pick it up. Lu Yinghuai held his trembling wrist with his right palm which felt dry and asked, “Are you okay?”

Jiang Tang shook his head gently, the word “I’m sorry” stuck in his throat.

What can he say after the apology? Say he doesn’t eat meat? But he just said he’s not picky about food.

Lu Yinghuai had already seen his reaction. He touched Jiang Tang’s hair and moved the meat dishes to the other side: “I’ve tried it, it’s not very delicious. Tang Tang, have this. This vegetarian braised tofu is good.”

Jiang Tang obediently put the piece of tofu into his mouth.

Lu Yinghuai’s eyes turned dark as he looked at him.

He originally thought that he didn’t remember Jiang Tang’s taste, but he never considered that Jiang Tang didn’t eat meat at all.

So in his previous life, he had people prepare different kinds of meals for Jiang Tang, but Jiang Tang didn’t eat them. It wasn’t because he didn’t like them, nor was it because he hated him.

Lu Yinghuai closed his eyes and endured the pain in his heart.

He should never have done that. At that time, he just thought Jiang Tang was cold and difficult to approach, but he never tried to find out the reason.
