PLTRSC Chapter 7

It really hurts

Not long after the meal, Lu Yinghuai noticed something unusual again.

Jiang Tang seemed to be full, but he still accepted the food that was passed to him. He mechanically brought the food to his mouth, opened his mouth, chewed a few times and then swallowed it.

Lu Yinghuai frowned, stretched out his hand to stop him, and his tone unconsciously became a little fierce: “If you can’t eat it, don’t eat it anymore!”

How did he develop this kind of habit? What if his stomach gets upset?

Jiang Tang looked over helplessly, not knowing whether he should chew the food in his mouth.

He had been full for a long time and had no appetite at the moment, but since it was Lu Yinghuai who brought it to him, he found it difficult to refuse.

Lu Yinghuai treated him well, and he didn’t know why. But he knew very well that all the kindness he had received since he was a child was conditional and short-lived.

If he doesn’t cherish it now, he will lose it in the future.

If he didn’t eat a few more bites now, he would only regret it later. He was not afraid of any problems with his body, but he was afraid that he would not be able to try his best to grasp the warmth that was as ethereal as bubbles.

He was scared to lose even a second.

Lu Yinghuai placed his palm upwards under Jiang Tang lips: “Spit it out.”

Jiang Tang didn’t move, his eyes were as clear as a pair of glass beads.

If it was Lu Yinghuai’s subordinates, Lu Yinghuai would pinch their chins and force them to spit out without hesitation if they disobeyed his orders, but for the person in front of him, he couldn’t do that.

The more Lu Yinghuai thought about it, the more he felt that he was not a human being. Jiang Tang was already so thin, but he didn’t let him eat and was still so fierce to him.

Did God let him be reborn so that he could bully Jiang Tang?

Isn’t the kid pitiful enough? How could he have the heart to yell at him?

The scene of Jiang Tang’s thin shoulders blocking him in the previous life kept replaying in Lu Yinghuai’s mind. Lu Yinghuai cursed himself in his heart and softened his voice: “Be good, Tang Tang, spit it out.”

Jiang Tang blinked slowly, avoided Lu Yinghuai’s hand, grabbed a tissue and spit out the food.

The next second.

“I’m sorry, Mr. Lu…”

“I’m sorry, Tang Tang,” their voices overlapped, and Lu Yinghuai pulled out a new tissue to wipe the corner of Jiang Tang’s lips, “You don’t have to apologize to me, you didn’t do anything wrong, I’m not being mean to you, you can reject me, don’t just accept it.”

Jiang Tang shook his head.

Reject?

He can reject everything in the world except Lu Yinghuai.

Lu Yinghuai knew nothing, but Jiang Tang knew it all. He had desperately escaped from that place just to see Lu Yinghuai.

Because of the unexpected wedding, he did not leave, but waited to thank Lu Yinghuai.

Thank him again and again for pulling him back from the brink of darkness.

But now everything has developed beyond his expectations.

He never thought that Lu Yinghuai would really take him away. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t think of anything about himself that was worthy of Lu Yinghuai’s consideration.

Jiang Tang doesn’t believe in good things without reason, even if the other person was Lu Yinghuai. But because the other person was Lu Yinghuai, he could accept all the “bad intentions” behind this “good” without any scruples.

The worst outcome would be to return to the abyss. As it was now, fate had been kind enough to him.

Until the end of dinner, Lu Yinghuai did not go to get Jiang Tang’s wheelchair. He carried Jiang Tang through the path and returned to the car just like he did when he came. “Let’s go home, okay?”

Jiang Tang didn’t answer and he didn’t care. The car drove smoothly all the way, and Lu Yinghuai’s usually wild driving style became steady because of the other person in the car.

“Go to sleep if you’re tired. I’ll call you when we get there.”

When Jiang Tang woke up again, he was already in the bedroom. He usually had poor sleep quality and was very alert. He was unaware that Lu Yinghuai carried him out of the car this time.

“Lu…” Hearing the sound of the door opening, Uncle Chen on the sofa jumped up reflexively with an embarrassed look on his face.

Lu Yinghuai didn’t notice it. He made a gesture to keep quiet, then carried Jiang Tang upstairs.

Uncle Chen behind him peeked into Lu Yinghuai’s arms without any regard. After receiving an unhappy glance from Lu Yinghuai, he resentfully went into the kitchen and started to pretend to work.

After carrying the person to the bed in the master bedroom, Jiang Tang opened his eyes drowsily.

Lu Yinghuai felt soft-hearted and gently rubbed his hair: “Go to sleep.”

Jiang Tang was so sleepy that he could not open his eyes. The warm embrace that he had never received in more than ten years made him lose his sensitivity and vigilance.

However, as soon as Lu Yinghuai left, Jiang Tang slowly came to his senses. He sat up, his fingers unconsciously grasping the corner of his clothes.

It felt sticky.

Jiang Tang’s body stiffened, and he looked at his palm hesitantly, which was filled with red half-dried blood.

Where did the blood come from?!

He realized almost instantly that Lu Yinghuai was injured. In his anxiety, he forgot about the disability of his legs. He wanted to stand up but ended up falling heavily to the ground.

Lu Yinghuai came back at this time.

The person who should have been resting in bed was lying on the ground in a mess.

“Tang Tang!”

Lu Yinghuai’s face changed drastically. The image of Jiang Tang covered in blood in his previous life overlapped with the present. For a second, he couldn’t distinguish between reality and the past.

Jiang Tang’s bloodstained hand tightly grasped the hand that Lu Yinghuai extended to him. The warm touch pulled Lu Yinghuai out of the horrific hallucination.

“Mr. Lu!”

Jiang Tang breathed rapidly and struggled to prevent him from carrying him: “You are hurt!”

Jiang Tang’s eyes searched Lu Yinghuai’s body. The bloodstains on his black combat uniform could not be distinguished without careful observation. “We have to go to the hospital!”

Seeing that Jiang Tang was not injured, Lu Yinghuai felt relieved and carried him to the wheelchair: “It’s okay, just a minor injury.”

Seeing Jiang Tang’s obviously anxious expression, he changed the subject: “Hiss…it really hurts a little.”
