PEU Chapter 6.2

"We have some fate." (2/2)

Day 6 of Provoking – Part 2

The director proceeded to say, “However, there still has to be a punishment for failing the challenge. Come, get on with the super concentrated bitter melon juice!”

It was unknown how this cup of bitter melon juice was made. It was a particularly dark and concentrated green color, but the amount was actually not much and could be finished with one mouthful.

Jiang Xinghao braced himself and drank it in one go, then his expression soon changed. After he managed to swallow it with difficulty, he immediately ran to the side to retch.

Jiang Cheng glanced at him and saw how Su Nuannuan, who was the closest, took three large strides at top speed to move aside. Jian Suizhi frowned slightly, while Huang Daheng showed a concerned expression and asked Jiang Xinghao whether he was okay.

The director coughed lightly, “Although bitter melon juice is bitter…good medicine tastes bitter. The program team conscientiously guarantees that this juice is absolutely natural, doesn’t pose any danger to the body, and is even good for health!”

“Let Jiang Jiang relax first. Teacher Huang, please come forward to select a challenge first!” The director looked at Jiang Xinghao who was still retching, seeming like he was on the verge of death, then shifted his gaze to Huang Daheng.

Huang Daheng said without the slightest bit of hesitation, “Plank challenge!”

And so, Huang Daheng and Su Nuannuan both obtained the qualification for the small inflatable boat. After waiting for Jiang Xinghao to recover, the only remaining challenge was the 50 high knees one.

In fact, if Jiang Xinghao had directly chosen the high knees, then it would have been very easy and he would still have excess energy. However, after enduring the devilish burpees, a great portion of his physical strength was used up. It was to the extent that he could barely lift his legs, and the high knees were done in a hurry and were barely adequate.

The staff member, “50 completed! Congratulations to Jiang Jiang and God Jian for obtaining the surfboard experience card!”

[Help, isn’t this too sloppy? At least 30 of the 50 were not up to the standard]

[When I originally watched Jiang Xinghao’s stage, I thought he was quite powerful. I didn’t expect he would actually be such a noob…it’s a bit unexpected]

Jian Suizhi looked at the sweat on Jiang Xinghao’s forehead and handed over a piece of tissue, showing a fake smile, “How about wiping your sweat first?”

Your sweat is overwhelming me!!

Jiang Xinghao felt extremely flattered and took the tissue, “Thank you, senior!”

He used the tissue to wipe his sweat. At the same time, he took advantage of an angle the cameraman couldn’t capture to look at Jiang Cheng with a rather complacent gaze and raised his brows slightly – so what if you stole my limelight! The man you secretly love but are unable to get, didn’t he still take the initiative to get along with me?

Jiang Cheng received Jiang Xinghao’s gaze and caught sight of the meaningful look in his eyes. Suddenly, it was like good fortune had come, and his mind was clear. He finally remembered the conditions and requirements that his agent had repeatedly told him –

He looked at Jiang Xinghao and clapped his hands, then gave him a thumbs up. “Very good, very impressive! Congratulations on completing the challenge!”

It was just praising someone, anyone could do it.

Jiang Cheng ticked off a box from the work list in his mind – day 1 of work, praising Jiang Xinghao’s ability, achievement unlocked.

Jiang Xinghao, “…”

Su Nuannuan made a “puchi” sound and immediately pretended to fix her makeup, using an air cushion puff to cover her face. (T/N: sound of snorting

Jian Suizhi followed by turning his head to stay out of the camera lens, using some force to pinch the flesh on his thigh, trying hard to hold onto his idol image.

The live broadcast room was laughing even more happily.

[Help, is Jiang Cheng being deliberately sarcastic? Hahahaha, why is it that funny!]

[No, hey, I think he looks very sincere!! Very seriously giving plastic praises hahaha]

[It might be that he’s trying to save his good brother’s face (Buddha-like youth ascends to Heaven.jpg)]

[It seems even worse hahahahaha I’m dying of laughter hahaha]

Huang Daheng had already sat in the small inflatable boat and didn’t know what had taken place yet. He called out to Su Nuannuan in a loud voice, “Su-jie! We need to set off soon! Put on your life jacket quickly!”

“Cough, coming, coming!” Su Nuannuan hurriedly answered. Since she got a chance to leave this hornet’s nest, she immediately raised her foot and left.

“Um, please wait a moment,” Jiang Cheng called out to Su Nuannuan.

When Su Nuannuan heard these words, she turned to look at Jiang Cheng and saw the latter take off his windbreaker jacket.

“Use my jacket to ward off the waves and the wind,” Jiang Cheng faced Su Nuannuan with a smile. Although there was a boat, it was still very easy for the waves at sea to get into the the boat and get their clothes wet.

Su Nuannuan was dumbfounded for a while. She hadn’t expected that Jiang Cheng would actually be this meticulous and considerate. She was a bit anxious about this aspect, so Jiang Cheng providing timely assistance of his own accord touched her heart!

“Then I won’t be polite, thank you!”

When Su Nuannuan was done speaking, she glanced at Jiang Xinghao from the corner of her eyes. At the very beginning, it was him who had “spoken out from a sense of justice” for her. Yet at this moment, she saw that he was just following Jian Suizhi from beginning to end and had completely entered into the scope of the latter’s live broadcast camera.

A sophisticated person like Su Nuannuan could naturally see through others in detail. She faced Jiang Cheng and lifted her head, smiling widely as she said, “I’m a little bit older than you, so just call me Nuan-jie.”

“Okay,” Jiang Cheng agreed.

[Ah, thank you Jiang Cheng for helping our sister avoid an embarrassing and awkward situation ah ah!!]

[From now on, I won’t get involved in any of Jiang Cheng’s scandals! Thank you Jiang Cheng!!]

[I was suddenly touched by Jiang Cheng… Why is he always dispirited and gloomy in my perception? Obviously he is a cheerful little beauty!!]

[Tsk, so Jiang Cheng doesn’t want to woo God Jian this time, and has switched over to take a fancy to Su Nuannuan?]

[Su Nuannuan is in danger, beautiful lady, run away quickly, don’t be deceived!]

The whole barrage was chaotic. The viewers who were originally still thanking Jiang Cheng were quickly led astray by the “conspiracy theory” that followed later.

The Jiang family had an arrangement with the Jian family to have afternoon tea together. The elders sat at one table while the juniors sat at another.

Although Jian Xingce was considered an elder in the order of seniority, he was still driven to sit with the Jiang siblings.

Jiang Jin and Jiang Chi, the pair of sister and brother, were each holding a mobile phone and watching a live broadcast.

“What are you watching?” Jian Xingce came over with a glass of wine and sat down.

“Uncle Jian,” Jiang Jin, the eldest daughter of the Jiang family, looked over and greeted.

Jian Xingce rarely got involved with them, and the Jiang siblings seemed to be somewhat reserved.

Since Jian Xingce asked, Jiang Jin looked at him and conveniently explained, “Recently, there has been a young man around the same age as my younger brother wearing a bracelet that was converted from the necklace my younger brother wore back then. My mother feels like it might be our sibling, so she asked us to pay more attention to him.”

“By chance, this person has a variety show in the form of a live broadcast these days. Aren’t we just watching it because we were told to?” Jiang Chi snickered before continuing, “You should also know how every year, the number of people who come to the Jiang family and claim to be our younger brother is so big that it can’t all be counted with just two hands.”

Jian Xingce nodded slightly, “If you need help with anything, just tell me.”

“Thank you, Uncle Jian. We have an idea in our heart.” Jiang Jin then asked, “Will it bother you if we watch the live broadcast here?”

“You can do as you please,” Jian Xingce shook his wine glass slightly from where he was seated.

Jiang Jin and Jiang Chi adjusted the volume slightly, lowering it, but Jian Xingce still heard the sudden exclamation coming from the phone: “Congratulations to Jiang Cheng!…”

“Jiang Cheng?” Jian Xingce raised his brows. This name had been appearing rather often in his life recently.

When Jiang Jin heard him, she shared her phone and pointed to the tall young man with slightly long hair partly tied up on the screen, “Do you recognize him?”

“I know a bit,” Jian Xingce narrowed his eyes slightly. He didn’t expect that it would really be that young man he met that night the other day.

Jiang Chi thought of the relationship between Jian Xingce and Jian Suizhi and couldn’t help but nod slightly. “Haha, that’s true, there is quite a lot of gossip between him and A-Sui. But I watched the live broadcast, and I feel like he doesn’t look like that kind of person.”

“There are also many rumors about him and our family,” Jiang Jin reminded her younger brother.

Jiang Chi shrugged. “Since there are so many people claiming to be my younger brother, I would rather that he is. At least he looks nice, unlike that one who wears such makeup with no sense of beauty at all.”

Jiang Jin, “…”

When Jian Xingce heard what Jiang Chi said, he felt a subtle wave of curiosity in his heart – doesn’t look like that kind of person? Doesn’t look like that kind of person who would deliberately scheme?

He asked, “Where to watch?”

“The live broadcast? I’ll help you do it,” Jiang Chi immediately said.

Jian Xingce, “Thank you very much.”

Jiang Chi registered a new account for Jian Xingce and entered Jiang Cheng’s live broadcast room, then reminded him, “It would be best to turn off the barrage before watching, otherwise it might affect your mood.”

When Jian Xingce heard him, he noticed the comments that were floating by –

[Isn’t Jiang Cheng so annoying? Because he couldn’t woo Jian Suizhi, he went to suck up to Su Nuannuan?]

[Upstairs is so dirty, it’s just a gentlemanly move, let it be]

[A kind reminder, if you wait for Jiang Cheng to stick to you, you won’t be able to shake him off!]

[Jiang Cheng, get out of the entertainment circle!]

[JC is really a simp of the highest level]

The screen was filled with sneers and taunts, and there were even more dirty words being said, making Jian Xingce frown sternly.

He also knew about the person involved in Jian Suizhi’s scandals and understood the sequence of events to some extent. He also believed that, no matter what, Jiang Cheng shouldn’t be talked about in such an offensive and coarse manner.

And also, when he faced these comments, the image of the other party who was forced to hide behind him emerged in his mind. Due to being a bit drunk and in a hurry, the corners of the other’s eyes were bright red, with the appearance of a fox borrowing a tiger’s might and having its fangs and claws out. He was unable to connect it to what was being said in the barrage at all.

“Is there any way to make the barrage stop?” He asked Jiang Chi with a slight frown.

“What do you mean? Turn off the barrage?” Jiang Chi was dumbfounded for a while.

Jiang Jin reacted the fastest, “The highest level of reward can clear the barrage for five seconds.”

“Oh, that’s right, quite a lot of fans will use this method to maintain order in the live broadcast room. But obviously, Jiang Cheng doesn’t have many fans…” Jiang Chi added.

Before he could finish speaking, he heard the loud and clear sound effect of a Buddha Jumps Over The Wall reward coming from his phone –

[zbj31233489 gave Anchor Jiang Cheng 1x Buddha Jumps Over The Wall!]

Five seconds later –

[zbj31233489 gave Anchor Jiang Cheng 1x Buddha Jumps Over The Wall!]

The above was repeated five times.

Jiang Chi opened his mouth wide in disbelief at the repeated notices, “You… know him?”

This kind of local tyrant activity unexpectedly emerged in Jian Xingce!

Jian Xingce stopped the action of spending a large sum of money that could bring a family to ruins and said lightly, “We have some fate.”
