QHM Chapter 72 – Part 2

1TL: Here’s the part 2, Enjoy! 🤗At that, even Ming Yi turned his head quickly and looked at Xue Yuanqing.

Xue Yuanqing already had a very bad feeling in his heart. He swallowed, his back breaking into a cold sweat.

Ming Yi nudged him, frowning. “Yuanqing, go ahead and try!”

Xue Yuanqing opened his mouth as if to say something, but as the center of attention in the entire hall, he suddenly found himself at a loss for words.

It was at that moment that Xu Yin, who had just finished assisting another soldier, looked up and their eyes met.

There was a hint of mockery in Xu Yin’s gaze.

In that instant, Xue Yuanqing clenched his fists, gritted his teeth, and stepped forward, placing his left hand on the testing machine.

Taking a deep breath, he channeled his mental power to the fullest.

Two seconds later, the machine displayed the result: 23,333.

Xue Yuanqing: “…………”

“What the fvck, hahahahaha!”

“You two are too much, hahahaha!”

“Take a picture, quick, take a picture!”

The hall was filled with laughter as Xue Yuanqing’s face turned crimson, and Ming Yi was completely stunned.

Both he and Xue Yuanqing had five-digit mental power levels, which—though unremarkable—were still within their normal range. But seeing these ridiculous numbers on the machine, they were at a loss.

But… What was going on with the soldiers in the 9th Legion?

The two exchanged a glance, and from the look in each other’s eyes, it seemed they both had come to a terrifying realization.

Just then, Xiao Jiu and Huo Lingqi walked out of the elevator.

Seeing the commotion in the hall, Xiao Jiu smiled. “Oh, looks like everyone’s almost done with their upgrades?”

“Almost, almost. Thanks for all your hard work, Brother Xu!” the soldiers chimed in.

Huo Lingqi’s gaze coldly swept over Ming Yi and Xue Yuanqing before landing on Xu Yin. His expression softened immediately.

“By the way, I don’t even know how much mental power I have now,” Xiao Jiu said, swaggering over. Without hesitation, he slapped his hand on the machine, right in front of Ming Yi and Xue Yuanqing. “Let me take a look.”

Ming Yi and Xue Yuanqing immediately turned their heads, focusing intently on the screen.

Two seconds later, the machine displayed: 116,890,765.

One… one hundred million?!

Ming Yi lunged at the machine, gritting his teeth. “This is impossible! Why?!”

Xu Yin had just finished helping the last soldier, stretched his shoulders, and slowly walked over to Huo Lingqi’s side.

Huo Lingqi lowered his gaze at him and spoke gently, “Thank you for your hard work.”

“It wasn’t too tiring,” Xu Yin replied casually. Helping the two squads of Huo Lingqi’s troops awaken their potential had been his own idea. After all, these were all his people, and he wanted to take care of them.

Xu Yin continued, “There are four people who seem to have some special talent. I’ll teach them later; they might be able to learn this technique.”

Indeed, this was the reason Xu Yin had managed to quickly awaken the potential of everyone in the room.

Once more people were capable of this, the “Potential Awakening” process could be standardized, and every soldier would be able to receive timely and appropriate enhancements.

Listening to Xu Yin’s careful consideration, Huo Lingqi’s gaze grew even gentler.

Meanwhile, Xue Yuanqing walked up to Xu Yin, staring at him with trembling eyes. “Xu Yin, what exactly did you do?”

It was undeniable now that the mental power testing machine was functioning properly. The other soldiers under Huo Lingqi had received such divine results solely because of Xu Yin…

What exactly happened during those few seconds when he raised their hands?!

Hearing Xue Yuanqing’s question, Ming Yi also turned to Xu Yin, his eyes filled with greedy light.

Facing the two of them, Xu Yin smiled and replied, “Hmm?”

“Oh, that’s classified information.”

When Xiao Jiu first helped transfer those four old mechas for Xu Yin and his team, he had already suspected that with their ability to operate those old mechas so well, Xu Yin’s companions must have formidable mental power.

But after Xu Yin helped awaken the potential of those soldiers, Xiao Jiu realized just how powerful they truly were.

Having awakened the potential to the level of tens of millions, who could be weak with that kind of power?!

At this very moment, all the soldiers Xu Yin had helped awaken the potential for—over a hundred of them—now had the mental power of five-star generals!

If this news were to spread to the main star domain, it would cause an uproar of unprecedented proportions!

At this moment, Ming Yi and Xue Yuanqing had completely lost their composure!

They frantically chased after Xu Yin, demanding, “How did you do it? Tell us! Tell us now!”2TL: the audacity ! 🤬

They had already lost their rationality, their breathing heavy, eyes bloodshot with desperation.

But it wasn’t just the fact that the soldiers had all become five-star generals in terms of mental power. No, even Huo Lingqi, standing in front of Xu Yin, coldly watching the two men, made their legs feel weak.

With vice commanders boasting mental powers in the billions, how powerful was Huo Lingqi himself?

But still… they couldn’t back down. Xu Yin had such abilities, and they couldn’t afford to let him go free.

Ming Yi’s eyes were bloodshot. “Xu Yin, you can’t hide this ability, do you understand?!”3TL: this b*tch!? Dafq

Xue Yuanqing gritted his teeth. “You better tell us willingly, or—”4TL: or what!? you’re surrounded you b*tch! I really hate a character like this. It makes my blood boil! Grrr

“And what?” Xu Yin raised an eyebrow, asking with a smile.5TL: Yes queen ! 💅

Xue Yuanqing and Ming Yi froze.

It was then that they realized… they were surrounded.

Over a hundred soldiers, whom Huo Lingqi had called, had somehow gathered around them without them noticing.

These soldiers, towering and imposing, now exuded a powerful presence, their enhanced mental abilities almost tangible in the air.

They crossed their arms, a sly smile playing on their faces as they gazed at the two men. Ming Yi and Xue Yuanqing immediately felt a chill run down their spines.

Xu Yin remained unfazed, still smiling serenely.6TL: I love nonchalant queens like XY🤙

He had no fear in openly awakening the potential of over a hundred soldiers, and Huo Lingqi was fully confident in letting him do so because they had nothing to fear.

Ming Yi and Xue Yuanqing were panting heavily, their hearts racing in frustration.

Ming Yi, trying to hold onto some semblance of control, snapped, “You can only act so arrogantly now. Once the Xingyun Council sends someone over…”

“And what will happen?” Huo Lingqi’s voice was ice-cold, cutting him off.

Ming Yi was momentarily stunned, his eyes widening. “What?! Are you all lawless now?!”

“You said you’d call in the Sanction Army,” Xiao Jiu chimed in with a smile. “Let them come.”

Ming Yi’s rage was reaching its peak, but he couldn’t deny the growing panic. Huo Lingqi and the others must have known what was happening back in the Xingyun Council, which was why they were so fearless.

But…

“If I spill the secret about Xu Yin’s methods, do you think your people will stay indifferent?” Ming Yi hissed, his voice laced with malice.

“Oh, I didn’t say I’d keep Xu Yin’s methods a secret from the General’s side,” Xu Yin responded softly, his tone almost too gentle.

Ming Yi and Xue Yuanqing froze, their minds whirling in confusion.

Xu Yin tilted his head slightly, as if surprised by their misunderstanding.

He smiled benignly, “Didn’t you hear me clearly? I said it’s ‘confidential to outsiders’.”

The meaning behind “outsiders” was not lost on them, and the implication was clear: there was no secrecy between them and Huo Lingqi. Xu Yin had made it clear that his actions and methods were only hidden from the external forces, not from Huo Lingqi’s team.

In an instant, Ming Yi and Xue Yuanqing’s faces turned ashen. It became abundantly clear that Xu Yin and Huo Lingqi had no intention of sharing their methods or plans with them. They were deliberately keeping them in the dark.

Xu Yin was a pragmatic and easygoing person. While he didn’t have any deep personal connection to Xu Father, now that he was inhabiting this body, certain principles had to be maintained. The benefits, he was happy to share with his allies, but why would he share anything with enemies?

And that was exactly the approach Xu Yin took—simple and brutal. He had no hesitation in making it clear that he and Huo Lingqi weren’t concerned with what Ming Yi and Xue Yuanqing wanted or thought.

This cold, straightforward action was infuriating. The two were so stunned by the audacity of Xu Yin and Huo Lingqi’s treatment of them that they could hardly comprehend it.

Xu Yin’s grin, Huo Lingqi’s calm indifference, and the mocking glances from Xiao Jiu and the soldiers—they all conveyed one thing: Contempt.

Yes, contempt. They despised Ming Yi and Xue Yuanqing, they despised their two armies, and they despised Xingyun Council that was far away in the main star system.

They had no fear. They could do whatever they wanted, however they wanted.

Once Ming Yi and Xue Yuanqing realized this, a bone-chilling sense of dread settled over them.

Xu Yin and Huo Lingqi were unstoppable. Their arrogance was beyond anything the two had anticipated.

Back on the starship, Ming Yi vented his fury by smashing several objects.

Xue Yuanqing’s face was equally grim, the weight of the situation pressing down on them both.

Ming Yi and Xue Yuanqing tried to contact the main star system, hoping for some assistance or intervention. However, their attempt was met with a baffling response. Ming Yi’s father, seemingly perplexed by his son’s urgent call, dismissed the situation as a mad fantasy. He said, “What are you talking about? Are you out of your mind?” He quickly explained that there were many pressing matters on his plate and cut the call short. Ming Yi was left speechless and enraged.

Xue Yuanqing tried reaching his father as well, only to face the same response—his parents were too busy dealing with issues in the main star system to entertain their complaints about Xu Yin and Huo Lingqi. They were effectively on their own.

After a moment of silence, Xue Yuanqing, realizing the dire situation, suggested, “We either wait for things to calm down in the main star system, or we come up with another plan.”

Ming Yi, seething with frustration, asked, “What plan?”

Xue Yuanqing suddenly seemed to have an idea, his eyes gleaming with a flash of inspiration. “Wasn’t Xu Yin… really fond of you in the past? He still holds a grudge, but if you try to smooth things over…”

Ming Yi shot him a sharp look. “Xu Yin doesn’t seem like someone easy to placate anymore.”

Xue Yuanqing shrugged. “People don’t change that easily. You can try, at least. He’s our only point of leverage right now.”

They both felt the urgency of the situation—the “power” in front of them was too tempting to ignore.

After a moment of contemplation, Ming Yi stood up, his expression grim. This time, Xue Yuanqing didn’t follow. Ming Yi knew that Xu Yin usually left the administration building in the evening and went to a warehouse near the junkyard, likely to repair the damaged old mechas. So, he set off in that direction.

Inside the warehouse, everyone was busy working when Huo Lingqi walked in, followed by a sharp click as he shut the door behind him. The workers froze, pausing in their tasks. Huo Lingqi walked over to where the four mechas were stationed, looking up at them before addressing the group.

“There’s something I need to tell you,” he said slowly.

The team looked at him in confusion, and Xu Yin, wiping his hands with a cloth, raised an eyebrow, sensing something significant was coming.

Huo Lingqi’s next words hit them like a bombshell.

“It’s about your parents.”

For a moment, everyone was stunned into silence.

Then, Huo Lingqi dropped the even more shocking truth. “Your parents are still alive.”

The revelation stunned them all, leaving them speechless and utterly bewildered.

Meanwhile, back at the testing station, Ming Yi and Xue Yuanqing’s frustration had reached a boiling point—especially with their own testing results. The spiritual power test had returned a baffling number: 2333333333. With no understanding of how they had fallen so far short of the incredible results of the soldiers around them, they both angrily smashed things, their minds reeling from the disparity and humiliation.7TL: this b*tch had the audacity to demand XY when he have measly mental powers HAHAHAHA u deserve the humiliation 😚
