RCQT Chapter 74

Online Game: Needlepoint Confrontation

No wonder he was so strange before; turns out he was waiting for this.

Chu Qianze’s gaze swept over the glass the other person had just finished drinking. “Which hotel?”

So, this is an agreement.

“Not far, just two streets away.” Zong Xinjue felt dizzy, shook his head, but it only made him feel even more lightheaded.

Suddenly not paying attention, it seems like he had a bit too much to drink.

Seeing the appearance of this person, Chu Qianze always felt a bit uneasy. “Are you sure you’re still awake?”

He extended three fingers, “How many fingers are these?”

The fingers were slender, shimmering with a translucent glow under the light, undoubtedly capable of driving hand enthusiasts crazy.

Zong Xinjue had no concept of hands before, but at this moment, he was captivated. He recalled not long ago, under the table, the intertwining of their fingers.

This is getting a bit blurry from the drinks.

Chu Qianze felt quite helpless; he didn’t want everything to be prepared for the intimate moment, only for the other person to suddenly fall asleep.

Things coming to a sudden halt could be quite frustrating.

He tried to retract his hand, but Zong Xinjue directly held onto it.

Zong Xinjue lifted this hand and kissed it near his lips. “Very beautiful. I’m sure it’ll be even more beautiful touching me.”

Chu Qianze’s gaze darkened slightly as his fingers traced over the other’s cheek.

“I’m wearing a tight-fitting vest, similar to the one in the game. You should like it.” Zong Xinjue tilted his head slightly and rubbed his face against Chu Qianze’s palm.

At this moment, he shed his sharp edges, like a lion retracting its sharp claws and teeth, sitting on the ground, very docile.

It truly made one want to tease.

He tried to pull his hand back but was unsuccessful. Facing Zong Xinjue’s puzzled look, Chu Qianze chuckled softly, “If I don’t let go, how are we going to leave?”

Zong Xinjue stood up, still holding onto him, and didn’t release his hand. “Just like this.”

“So vigilant, afraid I’ll run away?” Chu Qianze let him lead, taking out a piece of gum. With one hand, he tore it open, chewing it while blowing a small bubble.

Zong Xinjue pinched his brow, trying to clear his head a bit.

“Just asserting dominance.”

It’s fine when there’s no one around, but once there are more people, various gazes always end up on Chu Qianze. The person might not notice, but Zong Xinjue couldn’t ignore it.

Feeling Zong Xinjue’s gaze on him, Chu Qianze took out something, “Want one?”

Zong Xinjue reached for it, unwrapping the package and putting it in his mouth. “Thanks.”

At this moment, the two walked into an alley, devoid of people, illuminated only by slanting lamplight and their shadows.

It was quiet around, and you could hear the sound of their footsteps as they walked together.

Chu Qianze took two steps, hopping onto a step. There was an overhead street lamp here, brightly illuminating his area. Noticing that the person hadn’t caught up, he stopped and turned around, “What’s wrong?”

Zong Xinjue grabbed his wrist, “Come here.”

Chu Qianze, puzzled, followed the person a couple of steps to the side, reaching a small corner.

It was quite dark here, with tall plants growing on the side, blocking both light and potential gazes.

Zong Xinjue cupped the back of Chu Qianze’s neck, pressing his lips against the ones he had been contemplating for a while. The coolness of the gum passed between them. Zong Xinjue leaned against the railing, and the metal logo on the back of his jacket made a crisp sound as it collided with the railing.

Chu Qianze didn’t resist, gripping the railing next to Zong Xinjue. He responded from time to time, adding a bit more excitement to the other.

Zong Xinjue was particularly engaged, and when it ended, a crisp sound of a kiss echoed, making the emptiness around them especially noticeable.

Originally, he had been holding back for a long time, feeling an intense itch inside. He thought giving a quick kiss would relieve the craving, but after doing so, he felt even more uncomfortable inside.

Damn.

Originally, Zong Xinjue thought the hotel was quite close, but now he felt like he must have been out of his mind when he chose such a distant place. It turned out to be separated by two streets!

“Can’t wait?” Chu Qianze glanced down, a hint of understanding flashing in his eyes.

He chuckled, fingers moving, but encountered something slightly rough. He could confirm it was a band-aid.

“Patched up with a band-aid?”

Zong Xinjue’s body trembled slightly, and the hand gripping Chu Qianze’s shoulder exerted a subtle force. “Yes.”

“It seems swollen. Things from the game aren’t supposed to come here.” His finger pressed on it, applying slight pressure.

Chu Qianze leaned forward, whispering by his ear, “I’m curious about what you did after logging out yesterday.”

Zong Xinjue’s eyes flickered slightly. He wanted to speak, but he felt Chu Qianze’s hand moving, so he tightly bit his lip, trying not to make a sound.

“Surprisingly sensitive.” Chu Qianze peeled off a corner of the band-aid, slowly tearing it open. He didn’t completely remove the band-aid; he left some of it attached. Then, with mischievous intent, he tugged at the little thing that had been hidden away.

Zong Xinjue couldn’t take it anymore; he rested his head against Chu Qianze’s shoulder.

At this moment, faint snippets of a conversation reached them.

“Where is it? It’s too far.”

“Don’t worry, we’re almost there, almost there.”

“It’s so dark everywhere. Let me turn on the light of my brain interface.”

The voices grew closer, and involuntarily, he became nervous.

Nervous now, of all times.

Chu Qianze found this a bit amusing. He used both hands to forcefully tear off the band-aids on both sides.

Zong Xinjue took in a sharp breath, barely controlling the urge to make a sound. He looked up at the other person, eyebrows slightly furrowed, questioning.

“Nervous?” Chu Qianze teased, as if to say, “Will you dare next time?”

He pulled the person’s clothes down, taking Zong Xinjue’s hand and leisurely walking out.

“Someone’s here.”

Zong Xinjue gripped onto Chu Qianze.

“That’s why I’m taking you away. Relax a bit.”

Chu Qianze glanced at the person, and his gaze halted. He stopped in his tracks, buttoning up the denim jacket on the individual.

At that moment, the two passersby also approached, catching sight of Chu Qianze buttoning up Zong Xinjue’s clothes.

The scene was truly captivating, and the voices discussing it became quieter. They glanced over a few times and then walked away.

Zong Xinjue relaxed a bit, “Why did you… suddenly do that?”

Chu Qianze, pointing through the clothes, said, “It was too obvious. I’ll cover you up a bit. Didn’t we agree that only I get to see?”

“Where’s the hotel? Give me the address.”

After checking the address and confirming the location, Chu Qianze directly pulled the person outside.

Just as they exited the alley, two bright lights rushed toward them. It was glaring, making their eyes hurt.

It took a moment to realize that it was the headlights of a car.

“Move away quickly! The tire blew, and I can’t stop!” the car owner yelled from inside.

Zong Xinjue stared at the approaching car, frozen in place. The scene overlapped with a similar one from several years ago. He instinctively placed his hands on himself, fear engulfing him, rendering his feet immobile.

“Watch out!” Chu Qianze, quick to react, pulled him back a few steps while simultaneously shielding him in his arms.

The vehicle passed in front of them, and the wind it generated brushed against their faces.

Chu Qianze watched in horror as the car, at an extremely fast speed, crashed into the wall of the alley, the intense collision producing a loud noise. The timing was quite fortunate; it was precisely where Zong Xinjue had just walked out. If his reaction had been a bit slower… the consequences would have been unimaginable.

Frowning, Chu Qianze lowered his head and asked, “Are you okay?”

Zong Xinjue, slow to react, finally let go of the hand he had been gripping, “I’m fine.”

But he didn’t look fine at all.

Chu Qianze didn’t press further but instead looked at the car. It seemed like the person inside was unconscious.

Comfortingly patting the person’s back, he also used the brain interface to contact an ambulance.

Accompanying the ambulance to the hospital, Chu Qianze explained the situation. Due to some procedural delays, it took a while. Shortly after, the police arrived, and they went through the process of giving statements. By the time everything was sorted out, it was already dawn.

Tonight was truly bizarre.

Entering the lounge, he saw Zong Xinjue sitting in a chair. Chu Qianze went to the vending machine near the door, grabbed two bottles of hot cocoa, and handed one over.

“What are you thinking, so absorbed.”

Zong Xinjue didn’t move; having not slept all night, he was obviously not in the best mental state.

“Sorry.”

“Why apologize to me?”

“I’m just naturally unlucky. I almost got you involved just now.” Thinking about the scene, Zong Xinjue shivered.

“Enough of that. The police said it was a drunk driver speeding with a blown tire. The car couldn’t stop. What does that have to do with you? Don’t force yourself to take responsibility. Drink up.” Chu Qianze directly handed him the drink, taking a seat nearby.

“As long as there’s something important, accidents will happen. Come to think of it, similar things have happened before.”

Zong Xinjue activated his brain interface, seemingly indifferent, “Because I’ve never gone. The reservations were automatically canceled.”

The timing and atmosphere were just right, such a rare opportunity… It really wasn’t going smoothly.

Glancing at him, Chu Qianze leaned his head on Zong Xinjue’s shoulder, “Since we can’t go to the hotel, how about coming to my place?”

Huh?

Zong Xinjue was surprised.

“With enough snacks. It’s a good opportunity for you to tell me about your matters.”
