RCQT Chapter 77

Online Game: Needlepoint Confrontation

When taking a shower, Zong Xinjue’s legs were trembling. What kind of sensation is this? It’s too terrifying.

Although in the game, he had some understanding of Chu Qianze’s abilities, it wasn’t until now that he truly realized the enormous gap between them.

Chu Qianze looked at the person’s appearance and simply lifted him onto the bed. “How do you feel?”

Zong Xinjue said, “I’m fine.”

He patted his head, his tone carrying a hint of concern. “Go to sleep quickly, or it’ll be noon before you know it.”

Zong Xinjue nodded and pulled down the new pajamas he had just changed into. “I’ll sleep in the guest room.”

“Are you afraid I’ll do something while you’re asleep?” Chu Qianze asked.

Seeing the hesitant expression on Zong Xinjue’s face, Chu Qianze found it amusing. “Rest assured, I have no interest in people who are asleep. If I were to do anything, it would be when you’re awake.”

“No, it’s…” Zong Xinjue ran his hand through his hair. “I’m afraid I won’t be able to control myself and might do something to you.”

Chu Qianze raised an eyebrow, leaning lazily against the pillow. “It’s okay, I welcome it.”

“I might not be able to handle it,” Zong Xinjue said with a dry tone.

When Chu Qianze had given himself a massage before, it was the kind that worked on the bones, muscles, and meridians, providing a sensation deep within, probably promoting blood circulation or something similar. However, now, it was a different kind of pain, a fiery sensation on the surface of the skin. The combination of the two, even though Zong Xinjue considered himself to have a relatively high pain tolerance, was something he wasn’t accustomed to.

With a mischievous heart but not daring to act on it before, how did he not notice earlier? This person was so amusing.

Seeing the other person so tense, Chu Qianze was even less inclined to let him off the hook.

Chu Qianze propped himself up, sitting up and grabbing the person next to him, leaning on his shoulder. “So, are you planning to leave me and go sleep in the guest room?”

He lifted his eyelids, opening them slightly, with a hint of expectation and hope. After spending some time together, he had a decent understanding of Zong Xinjue, who seemed to fall for this kind of playfulness.

Feeling a direct hit to his heart, Zong Xinjue’s whole demeanor seemed to soften. However, his intuition told him that continuing this would only bring suffering to himself. He replied with strong self-restraint, “I don’t sleep well, and it might disturb you.”

Seems like that wasn’t enough. Chu Qianze sighed lightly, adjusting his approach.

He turned the tables, pressing the person beneath him, kneeling over them. With one hand supporting himself on the side of the bed, he arched his body slightly. “It’s a rare occasion, stay with me tonight, Xiao Zong.”

His tone softened, using an affectionate address.

The blood gauge emptied, the scene flickered, and the word “K.O.” flashed in his mind.

Reason and emotion clashed fiercely, with the latter emerging victorious. Zong Xinjue gritted his teeth and murmured, “…then together.”

Chu Qianze chuckled softly, pulled back the covers, and lay down, bringing Zong Xinjue along. Subsequently, he buried his head in the other’s chest, finding it more comfortable than resting on a pillow. “Good night… hmm, good afternoon.”

Zong Xinjue patted his back and responded, “Good afternoon.”

Gently acknowledging the response, Chu Qianze closed his eyes and didn’t speak further. It seemed like he fell asleep rather quickly.

On the other hand, Zong Xinjue was now quite awake. Although his eyes were uncomfortable, his mind was active.

He was actually anxious, eager to get closer to someone, but the hardware facilities just couldn’t keep up. Thinking about that model number made him feel a bit apprehensive.

Lowering his head to study Chu Qianze, he couldn’t help but admit that the way the other person slept was very different from when he was awake. Long, thick eyelashes fanned out like a little fan, breathing shallow and quiet, resembling a child peacefully sleeping. It was nothing like the carefree demeanor when awake.

Chu Qianze shifted slightly, his collar opening up, revealing a clear clavicle with faint red marks on it—marks left by Zong Xinjue’s nibbling.

When he realized what he was doing, Zong Xinjue found his hand had already reached the neckline, and he even had the urge to move downward.

Beauty was truly alluring.

It’s strange, is my self-control really this bad?

Zong Xinjue fell into self-doubt.

He let go of his hand, forcibly closed his eyes, but those images kept appearing in his mind. In a hazy state, he unexpectedly drifted off to sleep.

After a while, Chu Qianze opened his eyes, gazing at the person beside him.

Extending his arm, he pulled the person into his embrace, leaned back onto the pillow, and closed his eyes again. A shallow sigh dissipated in the air.

No success this time. What a pity.

Consciousness space.

[Host, detected intense emotional fluctuations. What happened?]

‘What do you think?’ Chu Qianze smirked.

[?]

‘Sudden employee benefits are great for enhancing physical fitness, but it depends on which world you’re in.’ Thinking about the way Zong Xinjue looked at Little Chu, Chu Qianze’s gaze became profound. ‘It seriously hinders my life.’

[?]

‘If you don’t understand, forget it; it proves you’re still young.’ Chu Qianze showed a hint of melancholy. ‘Next time there’s a chance to enhance physical fitness, don’t use it immediately. Can’t I keep it for later?’

[It can be saved.]

Chu Qianze responded and didn’t bother to continue, changing the topic instead. ‘How’s your progress in the game dungeon recently?’

[Smooth progress!]

‘Good luck, take it slow. I’m going to sleep; so tired…’ Yawning, Chu Qianze waved his hand and bid farewell to the system.

When he woke up, it was already evening, and the sky was pitch black.

Chu Qianze glanced out the window, realizing his schedule was messed up again.

A warm sensation spread across his abdomen, and as he looked down, he saw Zong Xinjue’s hand resting there, having just caressed it.

“You little pervert.”

Chu Qianze playfully tapped Zong Xinjue’s nose, carefully adjusting his strength as he gently set Zong Xinjue down, then sat up.

Chu Qianze activated the light brain, checking what food was left in the room. He took out an apron from the virtual clothing rack, and as he prepared to put it on, he paused, contemplating the design.

Zong Xinjue was awakened by a delightful aroma. Opening his eyes, he followed the scent to the kitchen, where he found Chu Qianze cooking. When he took a closer look, he froze in place, feeling a rush of emotions.

Chu Qianze surprisingly wasn’t wearing a shirt, just a simple apron wrapped around him!

Noticing the presence of someone nearby, Chu Qianze turned his head to look at Zong Xinjue. “Awake?”

“Uh, yeah.” Zong Xinjue’s gaze remained fixed on the other person, unable to look away.

“Are you… cooking?”

“Yeah, it’ll be ready soon.”

Chu Qianze grinned at Zong Xinjue and continued with his tasks.

Noticing Zong Xinjue standing there, staring at him, he chuckled inwardly. This guy, let’s see how long you can endure.

“Why stand there? Come and help, carry some of these dishes.” He raised his chin, indicating the direction of the food.

Zong Xinjue’s spine stiffened, he slightly tightened his abdomen, controlled his breathing, and walked to the stove. “These two, right?”

Chu Qianze finished the last dish and plated it. “Yes, let’s take them up together.”

Leading the way to the living room, Chu Qianze wore the apron with pride. The apron, made of a special material, was advertised as dust and oil-resistant, and its silky texture and solid color gave it a touch of elegance. If one didn’t know in advance that it was an apron, they might mistake it for a trendy fashion piece.

Worn by Chu Qianze, it exuded an indescribable allure.

Zong Xinjue felt a strong sense of restlessness throughout his body.

Chu Qianze placed the dishes on the table and urged Zong Xinjue to come over. “I didn’t make a lot, and I’m not sure if you’ll like it.”

While speaking, he prepared to take off the apron, hands behind his back. He glanced upward, noticing Zong Xinjue’s occasional glances.

As Zong Xinjue stole another glance, Chu Qianze looked back at him and subtly pressed his lips.

“What’s wrong?” Seeing Chu Qianze acting a bit off, Zong Xinjue asked.

Sighing, Chu Qianze expressed some helplessness. “Can’t untie the straps.”

Zong Xinjue walked over and inspected the strap. It seemed that when Chu Qianze tied it, he pulled the wrong end, resulting in a knot. It wasn’t too complicated, but without visibility, it was indeed challenging to untie.

“You’ve tied it into a knot. Wait a moment, I’ll take care of it.”

The strap was tied at the lower back of Chu Qianze, and Zong Xinjue needed to crouch down to handle it conveniently.

Glancing back at the person earnestly untying the knot, Chu Qianze suppressed his smile. “Thanks for the trouble.”

After about half a minute, Zong Xinjue applied a slight force, and the stubborn knot was completely unraveled. “Done.”

Hearing this, Chu Qianze responded and turned to talk to Zong Xinjue. However, because the strap was still in Zong Xinjue’s hands, combined with the smooth texture of the apron, it unexpectedly slipped down, revealing a shoulder and half of the chest.

Chu Qianze made a questioning monosyllabic sound, his gaze discreetly assessing Zong Xinjue’s expression. At this moment, Zong Xinjue’s face showed no obvious signs of discomfort, but his neck was flushed, and his eyes seemed to have a hint of redness, suggesting he was enduring some difficulty.

Chu Qianze gently lifted Zong Xinjue’s chin, his thin lips slightly parting, expressing concern. “Why is your face so red? Is something bothering you?”

As he spoke, he moved closer to check his temperature.

The apron, the apron still hasn’t been pulled up!

Zong Xinjue’s balance wavered, causing him to lean to the side briefly. However, he quickly caught himself with his hand and stabilized. “It’s okay, just feeling a bit hot.”

Handing the untied strap over to Chu Qianze, Zong Xinjue stood up. “Let’s eat.”

Chu Qianze acknowledged and took off the apron, put on a shirt, and sat opposite Zong Xinjue. Seeing the other person eating silently, he didn’t initiate a conversation. When both of them were almost done, he spoke up. “Have you signed up for the league? The deadline is approaching.”

As soon as the topic of the competition came up, Zong Xinjue pushed down the earlier romantic scene and resumed a composed demeanor. “Not yet. Registration requires your identification documents and related identity verification.”

Chu Qianze nodded, already aware of these details.

“Let’s sign up together. The process is quite extensive and may take some time,” Zong Xinjue said, finishing up with the dishes.

“Just leave the dishes there. Let the machine handle the washing,” Chu Qianze casually suggested, leaning on the table with his hand supporting his chin.

“Sure, is there anything specific you need to do?”

Feeling like he had been the one taken care of for the past few days, Zong Xinjue was eager to find something to do, at least to contribute in some way.

“There’s nothing specific needed. Everything seems to be in order. If there’s anything missing…”

Seeing Zong Xinjue furrow his brow slightly, appearing troubled, Chu Qianze made a noise as if remembering something.

“We still need a warm bed.”

Seeing Zong Xinjue freeze on the spot, Chu Qianze smirked. “I was just kidding.”

Zong Xinjue cleared his throat.

Although he wanted to respond, the thought of this person…

He decided to steer the conversation back to more serious matters, trying to maintain a more ordinary demeanor.

“For this competition, we need to undergo training,” Zong Xinjue said in a serious tone.

“Training?”

Zong Xinjue replied, “It’s a plan. If you have any suggestions, feel free to bring them up, and we can make adjustments together.”

The light brain flew out and appeared in front of Chu Qianze.

After quickly reviewing the general content, which was well-organized and scientifically designed, it was evident that significant effort had been put into it. “Looks good. We can follow this plan.”

“Do you trust me this much…” Zong Xinjue suppressed his heartbeat and continued, “I’ve also conducted some analysis for this competition.”

“Hmm?” Chu Qianze raised an eyebrow.

“I did a general investigation, and many professional teams are participating in this league. The ones we need to pay special attention to are these…” To make it more visual, Zong Xinjue brought up the light screen, displaying the information he had gathered.

Indeed, when it came to the competition, it was as if he had become a different person.

After roughly hearing the information, Chu Qianze gained an understanding of the current situation. He reached for the pure milk beside him, opened it, and took a sip. “So, according to what you’re saying, the system arranges matches casually in the early stage?”

Zong Xinjue nodded. “Yes, we first filter based on different regions in the mainland. The competition cycle is short, and the time between each match is minimal. In other words, our average consumption should not be too high.”

“As long as we don’t encounter those major forces, we should be able to win. With so many teams, the chances of encountering them are not that high,” Chu Qianze added.

“…We better plan for the worst-case scenario,” Zong Xinjue suggested.

Zong Xinjue’s words were direct. Though he wasn’t entirely willing, he couldn’t deny the fact that anything dependent on luck had never been in his favor.

“You make a valid point. We need to be well-prepared.”

Chu Qianze agreed, lifting his hand to draw a circle, linking together all the teams Zong Xinjue had marked as noteworthy. “Our goal is to defeat all these teams.”

Having said that, Chu Qianze noticed that Zong Xinjue was still maintaining a serious expression, so he tugged at the corner of his face. “Relax. Actually, I have pretty good luck. At worst, I’ll split it with you.”

Zong Xinjue looked up at Chu Qianze, meeting his smiling eyes. Such a good person, and yet he couldn’t even dare to do that kind of thing… Thoughts overwhelmed him, guilt filling his heart.

Without saying a word, he just turned his head and planted a kiss on Chu Qianze’s palm.

Going back today, he would arrange training for the orbicularis oris muscle1A facial muscle surrounding the lips, responsible for blowing a kiss, in this case, it’s a different kind of blowing ;P!

Quick training, the sooner, the better!
