RCQT Chapter 83

Online Game: Needlepoint Confrontation

Celestial Tea, a dessert shop located opposite the King Club.

Every year at this time, it welcomes the peak season, with young people being the main consumer group, as these days mark the enrollment period for the King Club.

After completing an assessment, coming here to enjoy some desserts and chat is a good choice.

“The examination questions were so difficult; truly worthy of King, much stricter compared to other clubs. I feel like I might be in trouble…”

Thinking about the pain of the exam, Qiao couldn’t help but frown. However, quickly, his expression relaxed, “Moqi, how did you do in the exam?”

Moqi, upon hearing this, silently took a sip of cola, “Not sure yet.”

“You’re so talented; there must be no problem!” Qiao said with certainty. “I’ve decided, if I don’t pass this time, I’ll continue taking the exam next year! If I still don’t make it, then I’ll try again!”

“Then I’ll join you,” Moqi said.

“With me?” Qiao repeated, not quite catching on.

Moqi clarified, “I’ll accompany you in taking the exam.”

“How can that be!”

Qiao, with a slightly chubby face, pouted, “More than a year is precious! With your talent, it shouldn’t be wasted.”

“What’s the point of esports? Originally, it’s meant to be enjoyed together.”

Qiao thought lightly, “Anyway, I’m sure to get into King. If you’re accepted, just help me scout the path. That way, I’ll be under someone’s protection. Seeing Zongxin in this exam is worth it! He’s just as serious and imposing as I imagined, truly a gaming god!”

Qiao, feeling satisfied, suddenly remembered something and sighed, “Too bad I didn’t see Chenci… sigh, why am I so timid? I didn’t even go up to ask for an autograph. I really want one.”

Moqi remained silent, only taking a sip of tea. He knew that this person was about to start again.

“They are both so handsome, truly a golden duo! Do you remember the finals video I made you watch back then? Wow, I could watch it ten thousand times and never get tired of it. Back in the national tournament, they rose to fame, conquering challenges one after another and directly climbing to the top of the world. So cool, really too cool. Chenci actually has two hidden professions; I really don’t know how he manages that. Zongxin is also super amazing. Although his profession is ordinary, he can dominate others with it!” Qiao said, clasping his hands together, appearing like a devoted fan.

Listening to this person’s words, Moqi couldn’t help but sigh.

He had heard similar words countless times. Qiao was indeed a die-hard fan of King, a genuine little fanboy. He could talk about the same thing over and over without getting tired.

Dingling—

The door opened, and the wind stirred the nearby wind chimes, creating a beautiful melody.

A man walked in, his hat pulled down low, covering most of his face. He wore a casual hooded sweatshirt, jeans, and sneakers—a very ordinary outfit. Standing there casually, he seemed like someone out of a street-style photo, catching everyone’s attention.

After he entered, the dessert shop quieted down slightly.

“Welcome, may I help you with something?” The server delivered desserts to the guests at Table 3, then stood up and inquired.

Chu Qianze glanced around, surprised by the lively atmosphere. “Business seems good today.”

It seems the assessment has ended, earlier than expected.

The server, upon recognizing Chu Qianze, nodded, “Thanks to your presence. We’re a bit busy now, so if you’d like to order, it might take a moment.”

Chu Qianze pulled up a chair nearby, “No rush, I don’t have much to do anyway. Any recommendations for today?”

“You’re in luck, we just introduced a new item, and it’s all here on the menu.” The server handed over a price list.

Scanning through the options, Chu Qianze selected the wasabi and buckwheat ones, saying, “I’ll skip these two, and one of each of the others.”

After placing the order, Chu Qianze put on his Bluetooth earphones, opened his optical computer, and leisurely browsed the forums.

After a moment of silence, the dessert shop returned to its lively atmosphere, with occasional glances directed at Chu Qianze.

Qiao was one of those assessing Chu Qianze. He blinked a few times, exchanged glances with his companion, and whispered, “Don’t you think this person looks a bit like Chenci?”

Moqi hadn’t been playing holographic online games for long, mainly accompanying Qiao, and after entering the circle, he silently trained without paying much attention to the trends in the professional scene. However, Chenci’s reputation was quite prominent, and even if he didn’t actively follow, Moqi still knew a bit about him, especially with a little fanboy constantly talking about it.

Observing for a moment, Moqi replied, “Does he?”

The tone of his question carried a hint of uncertainty.

However, Qiao interpreted it as a denial and sighed in relief, “I knew it. How could someone as amazing as Chenci possibly come to a dessert shop?”

Chu Qianze’s mouth twitched. I haven’t even started playing music yet. I can hear everything that you’re saying. What does being awesome have to do with eating dessert?

Qiao, realizing he wasn’t Chenci, redirected his attention to the unfinished conversation.

Due to proximity, Chu Qianze was involuntarily overhearing part of their conversation.

Hey, it’s the little fanboy from King. Not recognizing the main guy even as a fan, that’s a low rating.

At this moment, a notification sound chimed on Chu Qianze’s optical computer.

Opening it, he saw a message from Zong Xinjue.

[Sorry, I’ve been busy with the assessment. Had my optical computer on mute and didn’t see your messages.]

[Where are you now? I’ll come to find you.]

Chu Qianze typed a few quick words.

[Opposite dessert shop.]

Zong Xinjue replied: [Okay.]

About two minutes later, Qiao looked outside and couldn’t help but widen his eyes, grabbing his companion’s arm and shaking it vigorously.

“Look over there!”

Moqi, a bit dizzy from the shaking, followed the gaze towards the window and also froze.

Zongxin was standing outside, walking towards them.

He pushed open the door and entered the dessert shop, spotting Chu Qianze seated inside at a glance.

“Arrived pretty quickly,” Chu Qianze waved to them.

“Not too far,” Zong Xinjue replied.

As they approached, Chu Qianze stood up and told the server, “I’m leaving. Once it’s ready, just deliver it to the shop across the street.”

The server nodded, “No problem, I’ll try to get it to you as soon as possible.”

“No rush, take your time,” Chu Qianze completed the payment with his optical computer, then walked out with Zong Xinjue. Passing by Qiao and his companion, he lifted his hat slightly, offering them a smile.

Qiao’s mouth hung open, completely stunned.

This was the main guy, this was Chenci! What did he just say in front of him?!

Grabbing the sleeve of the person next to him, he stiffly turned his head, “When I was talking just now, my voice… wasn’t too loud, right? He shouldn’t have heard, right?”

“I think he could hear it,” Moqi straightforwardly burst the bubble of the other’s illusion.

Qiao covered his face with both hands and knocked his head on the table, “It’s over, it’s over. I have no dignity left qwq.”

Meanwhile, Chu Qianze, having stepped out of the dessert shop, chuckled.

Zong Xinjue found it a bit strange, “What’s going on?”

“Just encountered two amusing kids just now, probably participating in the assessment,” Chu Qianze said, resting his hands on the back of his head, then briefly recounted the recent encounter.

Arriving at the office, Chu Qianze settled onto the sofa, casually draping his arms over the back, legs crossed, looking rather like a lord.

“How’s it going this year? Any potential talents?” he asked.

Zong Xinjue joined him, opened his computer, and displayed the information. “The performance of these individuals has been quite good.”

Chu Qianze quickly scanned the information with his fingers, swiftly reviewing the details. His attention stopped on one of the profiles.

“This candidate is quite capable, with good operational awareness. I checked his training time—it’s only been a few months. He falls into the category of a talented player,” Zong Xinjue said, leaning over to take a look and offering his assessment.

“This is one of the two kids I encountered in the dessert shop,” Chu Qianze carefully examined the assessment results. “His talent is exceptional, everything comes too easily for him, so his dedication is not very high. It’s a common issue.”

“Yes, speaking of which, there’s a candidate with the opposite profile,” Zong Xinjue outlined a brief summary, and Chu Qianze made a sound of surprise.

“What’s the matter?”

“This is the other kid, quite a coincidence. The two of them complement each other well, so averaging it out should be fine,” Chu Qianze remarked.

After a quick review of the data, the discussion concluded.

At moments like these, Zong Xinjue couldn’t help but marvel at his efficiency. Unfortunately, Chu Qianze had little interest in these matters.

Chu Qianze pulled Zong Xinjue into his arms, allowing him to sit on his lap.

“Now that work is more or less settled, shall we discuss last night’s matter?” Chu Qianze’s slender fingers lifted Zong Xinjue’s tie, rolling it up and then letting it fall.

“You left me high and dry after devouring me completely. One phone call, and you slapped my butt and left, leaving me alone, eagerly waiting for your return.”

Zong Xinjue paused in his movements, instinctively adjusting his sitting posture. “That was… something urgent at the club.”

“…Even if you’re not coming back, at least let me know,” Chu Qianze said.

Chu Qianze buried his face in Zong Xinjue’s neck, his tone carrying a hint of grievance. Yet, emotions settled in the depths of his eyes as he slowly let his lips trail over the other’s skin.

A shiver ran through Zong Xinjue, his lips slightly pursed. The body that was already a bit sore seemed even more powerless now.

“Didn’t we just do it last night?” Chu Qianze’s lips curved slightly, though Zong Xinjue couldn’t see it as he had lowered his head. Letting out a slow sigh, Chu Qianze’s breath brushed against the nape of Zong Xinjue’s neck. “I waited for you all night.”

Zong Xinjue caught a whiff of a refreshing lemon scent – the fragrance of shampoo. Having been softened by this person, he compromised in the end, “I’m sweaty. I’ll take a shower.”

Achieving his plan, Chu Qianze released his grip, his features relaxing, “Sure.”

Caught in the scheme.

Zong Xinjue realized it but didn’t expose it. He just found the other’s slightly smug expression particularly adorable.

“You really are…” Zong Xinjue’s tone held a mix of helplessness and indulgence.

After bending down to give a peck, Zong Xinjue stood up, picked up a bathrobe, and headed towards the nearby bathroom.

Three minutes later, the optical computer displayed that the takeout had arrived.

Chu Qianze opened the window, and a drone lowered the package before slowly ascending.

[Wishing you a delightful dining experience.]

After the mechanical voice finished speaking, the drone left through the window.

Chu Qianze unpacked the food, arranged it on the coffee table, and once his hands were clean, he started eating.

Zong Xinjue emerged, observing Chu Qianze happily enjoying a piece of cake.

It seemed he would have to wait a little longer.

“Did the delivery arrive? It looks like they’ve come up with a new product again. How does it taste?”

Chu Qianze took a bite of cake and waved at Zong Xinjue.

As Zong Xinjue walked over and sat down, Chu Qianze picked up a clean spoon, scooped out some cake, and offered it to him.

Thinking he was going to be fed, Zong Xinjue opened his mouth, only to see Chu Qianze’s hand turning over, and the cream dropped onto his collarbone, sending a cool sensation.

“Oops, slippery hands.”

Chu Qianze’s tone was light and airy. With a swift move of his wrist, he pushed Zong Xinjue onto the sofa. Half-kneeling, he leaned over, trapping him in a confined space. Tilting his upper body forward, he cleaned off the cream.

Running his thumb across his lips, he looked up at Zong Xinjue, smiling mischievously with a hint of teasing, “Tastes fantastic.”

It wasn’t clear which taste he was referring to.

With a loud buzz in his head, Zong Xinjue’s fingers curled, feeling a heat spreading throughout his body.

“Feeling hot?”

Chu Qianze picked up the ice cream from the coffee table and fed Zong Xinjue a spoonful. “Feeling better now?”

“Uh…” Zong Xinjue’s throat moved, and he noticed his voice sounded hoarse. Then, a shiver ran through him.

Chu Qianze held the ice cream and pressed it against his throat.

“Don’t rush, there’s plenty more.”

In the end, all the desserts on the coffee table were gone, leaving only empty boxes.

The next day, Zong Xinjue took a day off.

Chu Qianze temporarily took charge of the club for three days.
