“The strength is this powerful? Incredible! If they were to face ordinary people, it would be over in just a few seconds. Death would be certain, with no chance of survival.”
Of course, the military personnel watching also saw these scenes, especially Gao Siyang, whose expression grew increasingly grave. “These beastmen seem to be quite special, with immense strength. Their leaping ability is terrifying, and their physical power is extraordinary. If they were to confront humans, being knocked down or even just touched by them would be a death sentence.”
Qin Jiulin, “If we’re lucky, we won’t have to directly face off against such powerful beastmen.”
Liu Zhongyuan, “But if we’re unlucky, the ones we’ll have to confront in the end will be these strongest of the beastmen.”
Indeed, if their plan succeeds, the ones who will ultimately survive will be the rarest and mightiest of the beastmen, which are precisely the ones they will need to face in the end.
Gao Siyang sighed, “Let’s not think too much about that for now. Maybe they were unlucky and got beaten to death by other beastmen?”
Qin Jiulin, “That’s true. Let’s keep watching. Qi Yue has already reached the southernmost location, so let’s choose an area with a high concentration of beastmen there…”
Qi Yue had selected a suitable location, on the edge of the city center, where the streets were teeming with a dense mass of beastmen, creating an overwhelming presence.
There was one advantage – the beastmen were concentrated in this area, with fewer around the periphery. If a riot were to break out, the impact on other locations would be relatively small.
After choosing the location, Qi Yue immediately decided to drop the blood bag he was holding. With the sheer number of beastmen below, he could just toss it and it would hit one of them.
The blood bag fell from the sky and quickly smashed into a beastmen. As the bag broke, the fresh, warm blood inside, mixed with the deliberately added bits of flesh, splattered onto many surrounding beastmen.
And so, a horrific cannibalistic frenzy among the beastmen unfolded before their eyes. Tens of thousands of them began savagely attacking each other, starting from the point where the blood bag had fallen.
The surrounding beastmen were a bit slow to react at first, but once they caught the scent of the fresh blood, they rushed towards the site in a crazed frenzy, tearing apart anything in their path.
In less than half a minute, hundreds of beastmen in that area were already dead, with the number continuing to climb as they kept counting.
Seeing this scene, everyone inwardly drew a sharp breath. Even Liu Zhongyuan found it somewhat terrifying – if he were to encounter this, he would undoubtedly be seriously injured.
After the cannibalistic battle ended, only about a third of the over 10,000 beastmen initially present had survived. The intense scent of blood soon attracted more beastmen and even some animals to the area.
At first, the numbers were not too high, but as time passed, they steadily increased, until the beastmen population in that location had returned to its original level before the blood bag was dropped.
Qin Jiulin, “It’s because the total number of beastmen in the entire Mo City is so high that even if a few thousand die, it doesn’t make any difference to the overall count.”
In this specific area, they were able to maintain a small pocket of relative calm because of their speed and persistence in clearing out the nearby beastmen. But that was the extent of it.
Gao Siyang, “Qi Yue, you can come back now.”
Qi Yue received the message and immediately started returning. Gao Siyang then said solemnly, “This method is indeed very effective, but it’s not suitable to use it too aggressively all at once. We can only use it in combination with our own methods, and that way it can have unexpected effects.”
Qin Jiulin, “Use it in combination?”
Gao Siyang, “Yes, use it in combination. We absolutely cannot rely solely on this method for a full-scale attack, or the end result will be unimaginably disastrous.”
Liu Zhongyuan, “Let’s start using it from the southernmost area, dropping a few blood bags each day. It won’t affect us here, and it can steadily reduce the number of beastmen in Mo City.”
Gao Siyang, “It’s settled then!”
After Qi Yue returned, Gao Siyang had already discussed the plan for the next few days with them. Today, they would drop one blood bag, tomorrow two, and then three the day after. They had to hit the right balance.
Going beyond that would cause problems, while not doing enough would be a waste. By hitting that sweet spot, they could reap the maximum benefit they desired.
The military base mission was temporarily set aside, and even Summer Lin’s squad was not undertaking any assignments for now, as Cheng Tianxiang, as a flying beastmen, had been directly mobilized to carry out a special task.
Of course, it was not limited to the variant beastmen who could fly – regular beastmen with smaller animal forms could also participate, carrying smaller blood bags.
Lin Yuze was also called in, even though his beastly form was just a tiny pigeon – he could still carry a small blood bag.
Qin Jiulin looked it over – with Cheng Tianxiang and Qi Yue, the total number of flying beastmen was only twenty, which was really not many, and might not even be enough to meet the standard they had previously discussed.
They might need the larger beastmen to carry two or even three blood bags each.
But for today, it was still just Qi Yue going, and this time he would be carrying two blood bags in his claws. Of course, he would also be demonstrating it for the other beastmen, so they wouldn’t be clueless about their upcoming tasks.
Gao Siyang, “Pay close attention, everyone. The task Qi Yue is about to carry out is the same one you’ll be doing for the next little while. Make sure you watch carefully and don’t make any mistakes!”
Qi Yue then flew off to the south as requested, finding a suitable location to drop the two blood bags, which he released at separate points.
Each time a blood bag was dropped, the beastmen below would descend into a frenzied cannibalistic battle, with blood splattering and limbs and even heads flying in all directions – a sight that terrified some of the individuals present.
Especially Lin Yuze, who should be the smallest among all the beastmen there. He felt he would be completely incapable of carrying out such a task.
How big and heavy could a pigeon be? How large a blood bag could he carry? The size of his fist? It would be utterly useless. And the gruesome scene was too frightening – he was afraid that if he witnessed it, he wouldn’t even be able to fly.
Qi Yue remained hovering in the sky, relaying the real-time footage from below until the beastmen stopped their cannibalistic frenzy, after which he quickly returned.
Gao Siyang, “Did you see that? Those of you willing to take on this task can stay, and those unwilling can leave. This is not a mandatory task, but those who stay can certainly contribute.”
Of course, they all coveted the opportunity to contribute, but as beastmen, they had many other chances to do so in the future – they didn’t need to take on such a dangerous task.
In the end, 5 out of the 20 beastmen left, including Lin Yuze, leaving 15 remaining, including Qi Yue.
Gao Siyang, “Not bad, more than I expected, but still not quite enough. We may need some of the beastmen to make two or even three trips.”
“As you’ve seen, this task only requires you to fly in the air. The beastmen on the ground can’t attack you at all – the horror is just in the sight of it, as long as you don’t fall.”
Cheng Tianxiang raised his hand and asked, “Captain Gao, my beastly form is a swan goose, and I don’t have claws to hold the blood bags. If I carry them with my feet, I won’t be able to release them.”
Gao Siyang thought for a moment. “Since you’re a swan goose, a mutant beastmen with a larger body, you can just carry the bags on your back and tilt sideways to drop them when you reach the location.”
Cheng Tianxiang’s eyes lit up. “Oh, that’s no problem then!”
Gao Siyang, “Does anyone else have any other questions?”
Everyone had a few minor questions, which Gao Siyang patiently answered one by one. Once everyone understood, he said, “This Mo City will be the home of all of us in the future. I hope you don’t just view this collaboration as a cold, impersonal task.”
“Of course, you’ll be properly rewarded. Don’t worry about that. If any problems arise during the mission or if you change your mind, be sure to let me know right away. Don’t keep it bottled up, because if issues come up, the loss will be your own and everyone else’s.”
“Especially if you’re finding it mentally too difficult to handle, be sure to tell me. I won’t force you to keep carrying out the tasks, alright?”
Everyone acknowledged their understanding, and Gao Siyang then dismissed them. “Since that’s settled, go and rest up for now. Come back here at the same time tomorrow morning.”
After they had all gradually left, Qi Yue returned as well, with only Cheng Tianxiang remaining. “Qi Yue?”
Qi Yue put his clothes back on and turned to face the approaching Cheng Tianxiang. “Hmm?”
Cheng Tianxiang was very curious. “When you were flying in the sky just now, what did you think about the bloody, cannibalistic battle happening on the ground below with all those beastmen? Were you scared?”
Qi Yue felt a little sheepish. “It would be a lie to say I wasn’t afraid, but I’ve gotten used to it. After all, there’s no real danger to me, and the fear is mostly just in my own mind.”
Most of the others had already left, when Qin Jiulin suddenly said, “There are a lot of flying animals in the wild as well. We’ll need to be careful when carrying out the task.”
At this, Gao Siyang, Liu Zhongyuan, Qi Yue, and Cheng Tianxiang all turned to look at him.
Qin Jiulin blinked. “What’s wrong?”
Gao Siyang, “Nothing, you’re absolutely right. I can’t believe I didn’t think of that before.”
Qin Jiulin, “It’s because the number of beastmen in Mo City, especially in the urban areas, is so high that the regular animals don’t dare to come close. Even the flying ones avoid passing over the city, and just fly around the edges.”
Gao Siyang, “So they’re rare, but there may be the occasional one!”
