Two months after their return from the base to the capital, Drake submitted an application to the mastermind and they were officially married. Because of the Federation’s marriage announcement system, there was a lot of discussion in the Federation on the day of the registration, with posts about Eno’s origins exploding on every anonymous forum in the Federation, but they miraculously disappeared after a few days.
Carl was still talking to Drake about it when Eno brought the freshly cooked fish to the table. The public opinion was suppressed by Carl. After all, it was the military. Although the trouble is a bit troublesome, it is not a big deal. Drake had been out of the public eye for nearly three years, after all, and Omega’s love is fleeting, they move on faster than you can imagine and have long since had other young and beautiful little brothers, leaving Drake behind.
“I say ah don’t shoot for the promo this year either.” Carl said as he pulled Eno down next to him, “I got two young guys to replace you two years ago and it worked out great.”
Drake made a heartbroken face as he covered his chest and condemned him righteously: “You’re dumping me after using me, scum O.”
Carl was very ruthless: “Dad is giving you a chance to return to your ordinary life. You don’t really think of yourself as a male god, that’s all Dad’s promotion.”
Eno leaned over to Drake’s ear and whispered amusedly, “It’s okay, I think you’re still handsome.”
Drake was so pleased that he quietly reached a hand under the table and took Eno’s hand, scratching his palm gently. Grey’s eagle-eyed gaze swept towards them, and he seemed to want to say something to Drake, but ended up just coughing heavily.
Immediately, Eno withdrew his hand, a redness creeping into his ears. Carl smiled and pushed the jade-coloured porcelain bowl in front of him in his direction, saying kindly: “Eno come and try it.”
Inside the small porcelain bowl was a full bowl of rock-sugar knuckles1pork knuckle , its dark brown broth giving it a distinctive aroma. The knuckles were stewed and then deboned before being served in bowls, each bowl containing a chunk of trotter meat wrapped under a piece of whole skin, so there was no problem with the appearance of food.
Eno took a bite into his mouth with his chopsticks, and the knuckles were stewed until they were soft and almost melted in his mouth, with a sweet and savoury flavour that permeated every corner of his mouth. He ate with hot tears in his eyes and muttered: “Why didn’t I come in the back then…I regret it to death……”
Drake had now fully penetrated Eno’s thoughts as a teenager. Eno wasn’t at all the high-strung person he thought he was, disdaining these uncouth foods. A lot of his actions just simply felt ungraceful, ungraceful things that he wouldn’t do even if he was envious to the point of holding tears in his eyes, a silly constrained little absolute fool.
“Actually, I used to put it in a big pot and pick it myself, what you’re getting now is a modified version, which I deboned.” Drake reassured him with amusement, “Feel better?”
Eno just ate his knuckle and nodded whimpering in agreement with him. Carl smiled and served him another bowl, laughing: “It’s been a long time since anyone has complimented.”
“Have some more if you like.” Grey followed with a smirk, “It’s the only dish he makes that’s good.”
Carl sniffed and glared at Grey. His eyes were wrinkled with age, but with such a shy, playful glance he still showed the vivacity of his youth. Eno couldn’t help but feel envious of the family and thought how nice it was.
Then he immediately thought that he was part of this family, and his eyes watered with joy as his chest filled with happiness. As the family ate in harmony and warmth, Grey suddenly asked, “Eno, Drake asked me if I could get you to work in the legion, do you have any ideas?”
Eno was stunned for a moment, and said embarrassedly: “I’m…recently preparing for the exam for Special Operations Specialist of the Omega Protection Society.”
He hadn’t said anything to Drake because the exam wasn’t until a few days later. After all, he hadn’t done any serious reading in a while, and he really hadn’t learned the brilliant ideas of the organisation. It would be shameful if he didn’t pass the exam.
It was the first time Drake had heard him mention it and wondered: “There’s this position in the Omega Protection Society? I don’t think I’ve heard of it before.”
“It was newly established this year” Eno said with a straight face, “That is, if any Omega asks for help from the organisation, we will go to the door and go out to work.”
Eno felt that since he had the power, he should do more to help those Omega’s who were even softer than him and suffering in some corner of society. As much as he wanted to go to the army and be with Drake every day, he was already happy and he wanted more Omega’s who suffered the same way he did but were not able to protect themselves to be happy.
Drake listened and said it was fine, and didn’t mention anything more about letting him go to the army. Instead, Grey mentioned the defence change, revealing that he was going to transfer Drake and the Silver Cross to the capital star to be responsible for security work, and let the original capital star garrison be stationed at the star boundary.
The change of guard has been a long time coming, firstly, the defence of the capital star is not a heavy task, the soldiers are too comfortable, not to mention that there are many opportunities to earn merit points, which is a good choice for many Alpha young masters and young ladies of the to muddle through. Secondly, after all, the capital star is a place where the powerful and wealthy are concentrated, and there is a fear of collusion with the upper echelons within the garrison to influence the political situation. Drake and the Silver Cross legion should have changed their defences a long time ago, but Drake insisted that the star boundary was the most important line of defence, and that the Inhumans were still making small moves from time to time, and he was not comfortable with anyone else guarding it. Now that the Inhumans had been badly wounded, Drake finally relented and agreed to bring his brothers back to enjoy a few years. Grey, in the end, looked out for him and made a good move towards his own family, switching the Capital Star garrison directly with the Silver Cross with a stroke of the pen so he could go straight home from work.
As for what help is needed in the liquidation of the Kersi family and their henchmen, Grey and Drake knew it well, but it was inconvenient to mention it at the dinner table.
The family finished the meal happily, and afterwards Eno, who felt that his stomach was full because he ate too much, dragged Drake out for a walk. Because Drake was not comfortable with Eno’s little book, he was so anxious to save up his merit points and register with him that he practically blocked the star boundary, begging the Inhumans to come out to give them a beating, for two whole months, and almost made the border Inhumans cry. They only returned from the Silver Cross at the star boundary this morning. Their new home was still being renovated, so they had to stay with Drake’s fathers for a couple of days.
They wore the little grass-green cartoon dinosaur pyjamas Eno had bought for the couple, and the little green tails on the back of their pyjamas twisted and turned as they walked, as if they were two little monsters fresh out of kindergarten. Drake took Eno’s hand in the lift, and the Omega’s hand, already small, was soft and squishy to the touch, curling up quietly in his palm.
Good and obedient.
The night was like water, the two of them walking along the cobbled path, the only sound around them was the rustling of the wind. The bright moonlight spilled into the pond not far away, dropping a shimmering silvery glitter that floated and sank in the reflections of the intertwined algae.
The two sat down in the gazebo by the pond, Eno leaning against Drake, his whole body relaxing. They snuggled wordlessly for a moment before Eno spoke: “I should have discussed it with you before I signed up.”
Drake’s arm around his waist tightened: “It’s okay. You should have your own choice.”
He looked down and dropped soft kisses on Eno’s hair through the flannel fabric: “Though I really want you by my side every moment of the day.”
Eno smiled up at him, his long eyebrows arcing elegantly, his pretty amber eyes swirling with a gentle moonlight hue: “I’ve learned that this job is 95529am – 9pm, 5 days a week and the office is close to the garrison command, so I can go and wait for you when you get off work.”
Drake’s heart melted at the look on his face and he reached out to rub his head: “Sure, ask Nightingale to get you a special pass when I go back.”
“En en.” Eno asked again, “Are you doing anything tomorrow? Let’s go and see the baby.”
Drake answered him quite naturally: “Nothing. I’ll call the cultivation centre for an appointment when we get back in the evening.”
Eno’s uterus had been damaged, and it was a miracle that the baby was still alive after all the torment his father had given him along the way, but there was no guarantee that the little one would be lucky if this continued. The doctors recommended that they remove the baby and place it in an artificial womb to continue the development process, as they were afraid that there would be problems with the birth.
Unlike Omega babies, who need their parents’ pheromones all the time, Alpha babies are more independent and resilient by nature, and it is enough for both parents to visit every now and then to make sure the baby feels loved. Eno didn’t want to carry a big belly every day and was happy to unload early, dropping the cub off at the cultivation centre and following Drake back to the star boundary.
“Can we go sit at Nightingale’s for a while after we see the baby? I’m kind of missing Julia.”
Ever since learning that Nightingale was Drake’s adjutant, Eno wasn’t surprised that Julia was Nightingale’s baby girl. He was paid quite handsomely for talking to a kid every night, and they didn’t mind that he didn’t have any papers, and was nominally still serving time outside the prison. Drake was afraid he would be bored at home alone and had recruited a child to relieve his boredom.
It was Drake who sent Nightingale a dozen text messages questioning him about his grievances, causing Nightingale to write a letter of resignation, sealed in his desk, ready to be handed in.
Drake agreed, taking Eno’s hand and rubbing it slowly in his palm. The Omega had finally been fed a little over the past two months, and his face was rosy, his delicate side white and pink, and he looked lovely in the delicate moonlight. Drake couldn’t resist dipping his head down and slurping a kiss on his cheek, and Eno flushed halfway up his face and tilted his head up to meet him in a kiss.
They shared a kiss as soft and light as the moonlight, and went home together, hand in hand. In the evening Eno emerged from the bathroom, as if rejuvenated, and climbed into bed to sit across Drake’s lap, smiling: “What’s on your mind?”
Drake opened his half-squinted eyes and pulled a gilded book of poetry from under his pillow, “I found this in my study. Remembering it seems like it was from you, took it out to look at it.”
Enoch’s eyes drifted and he asked, a little sheepishly: “What can you see?”
Drake said honestly: “I don’t understand it. I’m too uneducated.”
Eno let out a giggle and hurriedly said: “If you don’t understand it, don’t read it.”
“No.” Drake justified, “I’ll get a translator tomorrow, I’ll finish reading what you gave me even if I cry…what did you give me this for? You must know I can’t understand it.”
As he said this, he suddenly realised something and raised his sword eyebrows: “Or are you hiding something?”
Eno’s heart thudded and he immediately threw his arms around his neck and began to pout, his white chest rubbing softly against his shirt: “No ah, I just gave it to you because it looked good.”
Drake knew that since he liked him so much, he certainly wouldn’t give meaningless gifts. He didn’t want to open up the conversation too much so as not to spoil the hazy goodness, and sought to find a translator in a couple of days.
“Okay.” Drake then said, “You want to keep me in the dark then I won’t read it.”
When he said that, Eno was instead embarrassed, feeling foolish for having done it, he bit his lip and whispered: “It’s just…a love poem ma.”
Two red clouds rose on his face, and his crystal eyes looked at him shyly and timidly. Drake’s heart softened, Eno’s love was so carefully sour, it seemed as if the berry finally ripened under the brewing of time, and after the bitterness, it gave birth to a little bit of sweetness.
He kissed Eno lovingly: “Read it to me in future, ok?”
Eno closed his eyes and leaned against his shoulder, whispering: “Okay.”
They hugged silently for a while, and Eno swept away the tumultuous emotions in his mind, cupping his face and sighing: “To be honest I’m quite uncomfortable with you like this now.”
Eno was always the one to say what he wanted to say, and Drake was unsure: “What do you mean?”
Eno said sincerely: “Why don’t you just change3asking him to plastic surgery back to Martin 😂 back ba, too handsome for me to handle.”
Drake raised a crossed eyebrow and rolled over to pin Eno to the bed and tickle his armpit, tickling him so much that Eno laughed and begged for mercy.
“This is just what I look like, can’t help it.” He kissed Eno heavily on the cheek, “Just get used to it more.”
“Don’t want.” Eno said, pushing his shoulder away a little and they went nose to nose, a sly grin spreading across the Omega’s eyes, “I just like Martin.”
Drake’s heart skipped a beat, thinking that Eno had been waiting for this moment to get to him. He was quick to react and immediately hugged Eno and played it safe: “I don’t care, it’s me anyway, you’re just in love with me.”
Eno was shocked and muttered: “And you said I was thick-skinned……”
Drake took it in stride: “Thicker so it’s easier to chase you.”
Eno finally couldn’t help but laugh and his tone lightened up: “I’m serious, you’re too much.”
Drake was honest with him: “I wasn’t prepared to tell you at first, I thought we were going to get divorced sooner or later, there was also no need for you to know, it would increase the risk.”
“After that, I didn’t know how to tell you, I was afraid you’d get angry and ignore me.” Drake rubbed his cheek curtly, “I finally made up my mind to come clean with you the day you left, and when I came went into the house and saw that my Lao Po4term of endearment for wife was gone, I regretted it.”
Eno understood instantly: “That’s why you went to Kersi……”
“En.” Drake’s voice trailed off, still uncomfortably nervous as he recalled the time, “I was originally going to go through the regular process of catching them slowly, but I was afraid something would happen to you and used some tricks to get the location of the base.”
He was an old performance artist and turned the pot5he pushed the blame[/mf] on Eno with a light touch: “You don’t know how anxious I was, I couldn’t sleep every night thinking what I would do if you were really lost.”
Eno listened with great guilt and after a while finally came around and angrily went to poke Drake in the abs.
Drake laughed out loud and hugged and kissed Eno, turning off the light and pulling him under the covers, cradling the soft and fragrant Omega in his arms.
He kissed the glands on the back of Eno’s neck and apologised to him genuinely: “I’m sorry.”
Eno closed his eyes peacefully and quietly leaned into Drake’s arms, pressing closer to his warm, thick chest. The reassuring smell of Alpha pheromones lingered on the tip of his nose and the corners of Eno’s mouth rose slightly as he let out a soft ‘en’.
The next day Drake drove Eno to the cultivation centre and the two registered and then went to the cultivation room to meet their little baby.
It was an Alpha boy, tiny and wrinkly with an ugly head. The eight-month-old baby has already taken shape and is sleeping peacefully in the culture fluid. Eno and Drake stood beside him, and the cub immediately sensed his parents’ breath, and unconsciously waved his limbs.
Eno and Drake stayed with him for a while and then left, mainly because Eno thought he was ugly. Drake couldn’t cry or laugh: “They’re all so ugly when they’re first born.”
“That’s ugly too.” Eno’s mouth dropped, “We’ll take him back when he looks good, okay?”
Drake looked pained: “……I thought you liked kids.”
Eno said matter-of-factly: “……I just like good-looking and well-behaved kids.”
Drake hurriedly pulled him two steps away and whispered in his ear: “Don’t say it outright if you don’t like it, he is able to sense your dislike for him. To tell you the truth…I think it’s a bit ugly too.”
Eno was stunned for a few seconds and trotted back to the cultivation tank, putting his face against it and facing the baby. He still felt he couldn’t in good conscience say ‘baby you’re not ugly’ and after a long moment of contemplation finally whispered: “Daddy loves you.”
Drake laughed outright and tugged Eno out of the cultivation centre, directing Eno to buy several parenting courses on the drive, ready to study with Eno every night. Eno, despite his dislike, still loved the baby in his heart and Drake could see it. The baby would remain in the incubator for a few months after being born from the artificial womb, and when they took the baby home, Drake planned to find a nanny to take care of him, leaving Eno to do what he wants to do.
The exact measures would have to be discussed with Eno, caring for the child was a shared responsibility between the two of them and they had their whole lives ahead of them, he would take his time with Eno to learn how to be a good father.
The two stopped at a toy shop and Eno went in and came out with a whole ‘Galaxy Princess Dress Up Set, the pink and blue colours almost blinded Drake.
Drake felt his little heart fill with a great deal of doubt: “Does anyone really like this?”
Eno gave him a contemptuous look: “Don’t say anything with that aesthetic of yours, okay.”
Drake immediately said: “Whose fluorescent green trousers……”
His mouth was instantly covered by a slightly cool hand and Eno looked at him hatefully, both cheeks puffing up and tinted a light red. Drake just smothered a laugh and breathed out the heat on Eno’s palm, who huffed and puffed and clutched the set box in his arms, ignoring him the whole way.
They drove all the way to the Nightingale’s house and saw Julia standing at the iron gates of the manor house waiting for them from a distance, waving enthusiastically at Eno when she saw him: “Eno Ge Ge!”
Eno jumped out of the passenger seat and went up to her and spun her around twice in the air, making the child giggle. He put Julia down and said, somewhat sheepishly: “Why don’t you just call Uncle ba……”
Julia was unsure, but nodded obediently. Drake took the dressing gift box off the car and handed it to Julia with a smile: “From Uncle Eno.”
He knelt down and rubbed Julia’s head kindly, asking her quietly: “Tell Encle the truth, do you like this?”
Julia pouted: “I don’t like it. But I like Eno Ge Ge.”
Drake immediately threw Eno a smug look and then fished out of his jacket pocket a gold-trimmed signed photo of Drake in ultra-high definition, with Drake’s autograph under his handsome uniform, the most precious ‘to’ autograph, wishing Julia a happy day.
Drake handed the picture to Julia with great anticipation, but Julia just took one look at it and said to Drake in a resigned manner: “Uncle, can I exchange it for Adam’s photo?”
Drake had a head full of questions: “Who’s Adam?”
Julia then pulled up the latest military recruitment video from her terminal and pointed to the Alpha in the video, standing in the C5center position, looking crazy and handsome and said, “That’s him.”
Drake was struck by lightning and broke down: “I thought you said you wanted a photo of me?”
Julia looked down at the ground and whispered: “That was months ago…Adam is so handsome, I’m sorry. Uncle Drake, don’t be mad at me ma.”
Eno finally couldn’t control his expression and squatted on the ground covering his stomach and laughing. He was laughing so hard that his cheeks turned pink and his eyes glistened with water when he got up. Drake hadn’t seen him so cheerful in a long time and stopped being angry, helplessly accepting the fact that he was no longer a Federation man and decided not to maintain the image of the male god anymore, rudely purred a handful of Julia’s fluffy short black hair: “Take us into the house to find your father.”
Julia then led them into the house as Nightingale, wearing an apron and holding a spatula, poked his head out of the kitchen: “There you are, boss.” Then out from behind him came a tall Alpha who looked at the two of them with a simple and honest face: “Hello legion Commander, wife of the legion Commander.”
“Just call Drake, how many times have I said you don’t have to be polite.” Drake had been to Nightingale’s house once or twice on occasion, and he often coaxed Julia, the only designated happy fruit6pistachio is called 开心果 (kāi xīn guǒ) in chinese. of the Silver Cross, into playing on a regular basis, and had met with Nightingale’s Alpha. Eno said his name in a regular manner and sat down with both husbands for lunch.
Julia climbed straight onto Eno’s lap, ate her meal dutifully and then ran off to her room to play. Nightingale watched Julia’s back as she ran away and sighed heavily, “I don’t want to see her grow up more and more.”
Drake stopped his chopsticks and said casually: “Only ten years old and you’re already worrying about distribution?”
“Boss you’re an Alpha, you don’t even understand.” Nightingale sighed, “How sad that she still doesn’t have a good Alpha friend to play with.”
“The proposal to repeal the Omega Distribution Act is being drafted.” Drake dropped the bombshell without moving, “Although It’s not clear how many more years it’ll take to pull it off, but as long as the Inhumans don’t start an all-out war again, it’ll definitely be repealed before Julia comes of age. Don’t worry.”
Nightingale, though still stony-faced, exhaled a breath in the end and nodded. Eno and Drake had only come to see Julia, to thank her for spending some time alone with Eno, and now that they had seen her, they did not stay any longer, saying goodbye to the family after the meal and then leaving.
With no idea what to do with the afternoon, Drake drove Eno to the largest amusement park on the capital star. The two of them happily spent the afternoon at the amusement park, and as night fell they climbed the Ferris wheel and looked out over the capital city from the top.
In the distance were the starry twinkling lights of the earth and in the near distance was the intimate body heat of two people snuggled together. Drake took him in his arms and said solemnly: “The papers are out and I’m leaving tomorrow for the star boundary to prepare for the change of guard. I’ll ask my father for a month’s leave when I get back from the change of guard, and we’ll go on our honeymoon, okay?”
He nibbled on Eno’s earlobe and murmured: “I’ve booked you in advance, so don’t tell me you can’t ask for leave.”
Eno tilted his head to look at him, his clear pupils reflecting Drake’s earnest, gentle face. He smiled and said: “Ok.”
“I love you.”
“I love you, too.”
