RYF chapter 27

When Bai Yang woke up the next day, his body felt sore all over, yet his body felt dry. It seemed Shao Cheng had helped clean him up. He turned his head slightly and saw the “culprit” sleeping on his side, facing him.

Even with his eyes closed, Shao Cheng’s brows and eyes were still incredibly cold, and the sharp lines of his face were stern and rigid, making him appear distant and unapproachable. Bai Yang’s gaze shifted downward, fixating on the slightly pursed lips.

Last night, Shao Cheng had gone wild, kissing him countless times. Bai Yang was pretty sure his lips must be quite swollen now. Those kisses were full of desire and other complex emotions, making him both eager and afraid to anticipate, satisfied yet unsatisfied.

He couldn’t help but cautiously move closer to Shao Cheng, slowly bringing his face nearer–

“Didn’t I kiss you enough last night?”

The sudden voice startled him, and he quickly moved back, but his waist was caught by an arm and he was pulled into the embrace of the person beside him.

Shao Cheng’s eyes, now open, were chilly and clear. He had clearly been awake for a while.

“You were pretending to sleep!” Bai Yang pressed against his chest, his cheeks turning slightly red, his heart racing.

“Otherwise, how could I catch you stealing kisses from me?”

Shao Cheng arched an eyebrow, lowering his head to meet Bai Yang’s lips. Their dry and warm touch lingered for a moment, carrying a hint of gentle tenderness. Bai Yang’s heart raced even more, but he remained puzzled.

“Why did you kiss me?”

“I told you, as long as you behave, I’ll give you what you want.”

Bai Yang helplessly chuckled, “So, am I being kept by you? I don’t think I’m worth you doing all this…” The money Shao Cheng spent on him could probably support a perfect lover. Why waste it on him, a guy who is the same gender? Was it just because, as Shao Cheng had said initially, there were no responsibilities and it was easier dealing with men than women? But Bai Yang believed that even if Shao Cheng explicitly stated that, countless people would still willingly be his sex friend..

“Being kept means not having to do anything, just being kept.” Shao Cheng summarized astutely, “And you, from now on, will work for me.”

“Work for you?” Bai Yang was puzzled.

Shao Cheng let go of him, got out of bed, and while putting on his clothes, he said, “If you’re not willing, forget it. There are plenty of people who would want to be my assistant.”

Bai Yang couldn’t sit still upon hearing this. He grabbed the corner of Shao Cheng’s clothes and said, “I’m willing! But I don’t want money. Should I look for other jobs in my free time?”

“No,” Shao Cheng was unwavering, “You have to be available at my beck and call. And you’re not allowed to work at those random places.”

Bai Yang struggled for a while but eventually gave in under the oppressive and stern gaze of Shao Cheng.

After all, he had been ruthlessly dominated just for mentioning the idea of work. If he didn’t obey, he might anger Shao Cheng even more, and the consequences could be severe. As for making money, he could think of other ways in the future…

At noon, Gu Weihao had reserved a private room at an upscale creative restaurant, inviting Zhang Hongyi and Shao Cheng for a meal. Once they were all together, Gu Weihao teased Zhang Hongyi, “Mr Zhang, thank you for taking the time to dine with us amidst your busy schedule.”

Zhang Hongyi waved his hand in frustration, “Don’t even mention it. I’m so busy that I could puke. I haven’t even submitted my thesis proposal yet!” He took a sip of tea, “I still have to drive back to meet a client. I can’t even drink alcohol. Oh, forget about me. How about you guys?”

Gu Weihao smiled and said, “I don’t have much going on. But Shao Cheng, you haven’t been going out much lately.”

Zhang Hongyi chimed in, “Yeah, Cheng, what have you been busy with? You don’t need to inherit your family’s company or hospital, so you should be pretty relaxed.”

Shao Cheng took a sip of clear tea, his expression unchanged as he said, “I’ve been busy planning my life.”

The other two were taken aback, “You need to plan your life too?”

It was understandable that they thought this way. Shao Cheng neither studied medicine nor intended to inherit the family business. His grandfather’s assets and his father’s connections were enough to provide him a worry-free life. While he was an excessively proper second-generation rich kid, with excellent grades and a smart mind, who abstained from vices like smoking and drinking, he didn’t seem to have any concrete plans for his future.

“I didn’t really care before, but because of someone, I think it’s time to plan.”

Shao Cheng’s demeanor remained calm and composed, but his words were like a heavy bombshell, leaving Gu Weihao and Zhang Hongyi dumbfounded. It was Gu Weihao who first caught on and smirked meaningfully, saying in a profound tone, “Because you care too much about that ‘someone’…”
