For anyone wondering about their ages:
1st Son: Luo Junye (not yet 16 year old)
2nd Son: Luo Junhan (almost 12 year old)
3rd Son: Luo Junxu (8 years old)
Luo Xiu was swimming in the pool with their two children, while Meng Yang sat by the pool watching. Whenever Luo Xiu had time, he would take the children to exercise together, as he believed that exercise was essential for building the children’s courage and perseverance.
After Luo Xiu had swum a few laps, his assistant came over to report something. Meng Yang then suggested having a race with their youngest son. Meng Yang, at this point, knew that he couldn’t keep up with their nearly twelve-year-old second son or even their eight-year-old youngest son anymore. However, Luo Xiu had just taken both boys for several laps which meant that the children’s stamina must have declined, so Meng Yang thought he might actually have a chance to win.
“Dad, how about I give you a two-meter head start?” Luo Junxu swam over to Meng Yang and suggested.
“You little brat, are you looking down on me?” Meng Yang asked resentfully, pinching his son’s face with both hands.
“No, I definitely didn’t mean it that way, dad. You believe me, right?” Luo Junxu looked at Meng Yang with innocent eyes.
“You’re not allowed to let me win. If you deliberately lose to me, I’ll have your father race against you. If you can’t beat him, hmph!” Meng Yang threatened, looking at his son.
“I know, I know.” Luo Junxu said, removing Meng Yang’s hands and rubbing his face. “I’ll take it seriously.”
Luo Junhan sat by the pool drinking water, watching as Meng Yang and Junxu began their race.
Meng Yang swam very seriously and put in a lot of effort, but he still lost to his youngest son. He couldn’t help but sigh, feeling that he really had no talent for swimming, despite Luo Xiu having taught him the longest and with the most dedication.
“Dad, are you upset?” Luo Junxu swam over to Meng Yang and asked.
“No.” Meng Yang said with a smile, patting his son’s head. “Junxu, you being so young and able to beat dad makes dad really happy.”
Seeing Meng Yang smile also made Luo Junxu smile.
Luo Junhan turned his head towards the main door and shouted, “Dad, big brother is back!”
Meng Yang immediately turned to look and excitedly shouted, “Junye!”
“Big brother, big brother!” Luo Junxu also waved his hands in a cheerful mood.
Meng Yang hadn’t seen his eldest son for three months. Every year, Luo Junye would be sent away for a period of time by Luo Xiu, and Meng Yang didn’t even know where he was being sent.
Luo Junye had already changed into his swimming trunks. He walked to the edge of the pool and jumped straight in, swimming over to Meng Yang. “Dad, I’m back.”
“You’ve worked hard.” Meng Yang cupped his son’s face with both hands, smiling as he said, “Welcome home.”
“Big brother, did you bring any fun stuff for me?” Luo Junxu asked, looking at Luo Junye.
Luo Junhan also jumped into the water and swam over. The two of them surrounded Luo Junye, bombarding him with questions.
Meng Yang simply smiled as he watched them.
Even though Luo Junye was not yet sixteen, his demeanor alone already made him seem like a quite reliable adult who could handle things on his own.
After listening to his assistant’s report, Luo Xiu returned to the swimming pool.
“Husband.” Meng Yang said, tackling Luo Xiu. “How long can Junye stay this time?”
Since Junxu used to imitate Meng Yang’s way of addressing Luo Xiu as “Uncle Luo” when he was little, Meng Yang had long stopped calling him that outside the bedroom.
“It’s still uncertain.” Luo Xiu replied, looking at Meng Yang.
“Father.” Luo Junye called, looking at Luo Xiu.
“Did everything go smoothly?” Luo Xiu asked.
“Fairly smooth.” Luo Junye answered.
“Next time, take Junhan with you too.” Luo Xiu stated.
Luo Junye glanced at Luo Junhan and nodded in agreement, saying, “Alright.”
Junhan’s eyes lit up with anticipation, although he had a feeling that wherever his brother was going to take him wouldn’t be a fun place, he felt it was his turn considering that his elder brother had been sent away by their father frequently when he was even younger than him.
“Are you tired?” Luo Xiu looked at Meng Yang and said, “Go take a nap.”
“But…….” Meng Yang hadn’t seen his eldest son for a long time and wanted to talk with him.
“Let’s get you to bed for a nap. They can continue swimming with you in the afternoon. Otherwise, you’ll be too tired.” Luo Xiu said as he carried Meng Yang out of the pool, stepping on the stairs.
“Alright.” Meng Yang wrapped his arms around Luo Xiu’s shoulders and said looking at the children. “You guys swim a little longer, then go take a nap too.”
“Okay.” Luo Junxu promptly tackled Luo Junye and said, “Big brother, I want to go to your room. You show me the gift…….”
After a shower, Luo Xiu carried Meng Yang to the bed, lifted his chin, and gently kissed him.
Meng Yang responded with his eyes closed. After Luo Xiu finished kissing him, Meng Yang buried his face in Luo Xiu’s chest and asked, “Uncle Luo, is Junhan going to be sent away as well?”
“Mm, he’s also reached the age where it’s time for him to experience the world. With Junye looking after him, you don’t need to worry.” Luo Xiu gently caressed Meng Yang’s back.
Meng Yang sighed and said, “Time flies so fast. In the blink of an eye, the children have all grown up. “Even though it’s hard to let go, the time has come when we must.”
“Our children will grow up and have their own lives. Only we will be with each other for a lifetime.” Luo Xiu said.
“I understand that, but I can’t help but feel a bit melancholic. Obviously, they were adorable babies born just a moment ago. Now they’ve grown up so quickly into little adults.” Meng Yang sighed.
Luo Xiu kissed Meng Yang’s forehead and said, “Sleep.”
Meng Yang settled into Luo Xiu’s embrace and gradually fell asleep.
………………………………
After sleeping for about an hour.
“Uncle Luo…….” Meng Yang clung onto Luo Xiu’s shoulder, taking deep breaths.

Luo Xiu turned and propped himself up against the headboard, holding Meng Yang in his arms and letting him lean against his chest.
Meng Yang opened his eyes and met Luo Xiu’s gaze. “How am I going to have the energy to swim with the kids this afternoon like this?”
“Then let the kids sit with you and chat.” Luo Xiu kissed Meng Yang and said, “Or let them watch a movie with you.”
“What about you?” Meng Yang asked. “Are you going to the company this afternoon?”
“I’m not going to the company, but I have some things to take care of, so I’ll be in the study.” Luo Xiu replied.
“Is it about what the assistant reported to you this morning?” Meng Yang asked.
“Yes.” Luo Xiu hesitated for a moment before saying to Meng Yang, “Besides work-related matters, my assistant reported something else.”
“What is it? Is it related to me?” Meng Yang looked up and asked, puzzled.
“It doesn’t directly concern either of us, but it’s something we should still know.” Luo Xiu said. “Cheng Sheng has died.”
“Cheng Sheng…….” Meng Yang hadn’t thought about this person in a long time. Calculating the time carefully, it seemed like it had been exactly fifteen years since Cheng Sheng’s accident.
Meng Yang closed his eyes and realized that fifteen years had already passed ah.
In the fifteen years that have passed, everyone’s fate had been decided.
For the past fifteen years, Cheng Sheng had been confined to a bed, unable to move. For him, it could be said that life was worse than death. Overwhelmed by despair and agony, he would cry out for death every now and then. There was nothing more painful than living in such despair. After fifteen years, he finally left this world as he wished.
As for Yu Junchen, he had severe mental health issues at the time and had to drop out of school before graduating. A few years ago, Meng Yang heard that he got married. His husband ran a small business. An assistant showed Meng Yang a photo of him, he was just an ordinary middle-aged man. The marriage was arranged by Yu Junchen’s mother. Yu Junchen never fully recovered from his mental health issues, but it was said that his husband treated him quite well.
Kay and Franson’s child was almost ten years old. Whenever they had the time and opportunity, they would bring their child to visit and play with Meng Yang. Due to work, Meng Yang and Luo Xiu also often traveled abroad. Every time they went abroad, Meng Yang would meet up with them.
Celsey, the staunch anti-marriage advocate, continues to live a life of unrestrained pleasure. Every year, he would still spend about ten days with Meng Yang and Kay in Quyaoi County. However, he hasn’t met with Wu Nateng again and has long forgotten what he looked like.
Wu Nateng, unable to forget that night and unable to move on from Celsey, never fell in love or got married. He had long anticipated that, as an accomplice to evil deeds, he would sooner or later face divine retribution. He had prepared himself to endure the consequences, but he hadn’t expected the price to be the torment of unrequited love. Despite this, he still thanked the gods for allowing him to have a memory he could cherish throughout his life. Although the longing was painful, it was the price he had to pay for doing bad things. He willingly accepted his punishment in this life, hoping for fulfillment in the next.
The next morning, the whole family gathered at the dining table for breakfast.
Meng Yang glanced at his children, then turned to look at Luo Xiu. Their eyes met, and a smile spread across his face.
