Chapter 4 – In their last life …… they didn’t even say goodbye properly.
Gu Su’s face went white, and she barely managed to squeeze out a smile, “Maybe it’s just a temporary female companion, don’t think too much.”
Luo Xiaoan made a “che” sound: “Su Su you are more naive than me. The one who was brought out on this kind of occasion, even if she’s not a mistress, she’s still a potential mistress.”
“It won’t be …… He is not such a person ……” Gu Su’s words were sheepish and feeble, even though she herself didn’t believe it.
“Who is not such a person?” Luo Xiaoan was a bit baffled.
“What are you two doing hiding here during work hours? Bonus deduction!” A loud shout came from outside the pantry, the planning department’s manager Wang glared at them, his face a little twisted, and behind him stood several people in suits, seemingly the company’s top executives.
Gu Su’s brain is a bit numb, it took a while before she came back to her senses: it seems like it was mentioned today that the head office will come for an inspection.
Luo Xiaoan immediately smiled brightly: “Manager Wang, we are talking about how to perfectly combine words and pictures for that property in Luohu, it’s too noisy outside, and it’s quiet here, really, if you don’t believe me, take a look at my manuscript.”
She took out a piece of paper from her pocket that was crumpled up like a pickle and handed it over.
There was indeed some three-dimensional drawings of the building on it, Manager Wang saw that the people behind him didn’t mean to blame, so he breathed a sigh of relief, and lectured a couple of times and was about to hurry away, when someone opened his mouth, “Manager Wang, you guys continue, I have something to ask these two employees.”
Manager Wang gave Luo Xiaoan a self-satisfied look and led the person away.
The man entered the pantry and closed the door with his hand, the small space became cramped all of a sudden. Only then did Gu Su see clearly, the man in front of her looked very gentle and handsome, with a strong smell of books, the only thing that made people not dare to look directly at him was his eyes, sharp and clear, as if he could penetrate the depths of his heart at once.
“What are you going to do, Mr. Cheng? It will not be a personal vendetta, right?” Luo Xiaoan yelled, not at all timid.
Gu Su was shocked in her heart, was this person actually Cheng Jingshi, the general manager of Liu An Real Estate? The business elite who was rumored to be ruthless? This doesn’t look like it at all.
“Luo Xiaoan have you made enough of a scene?” Cheng Jingshi frowned, “Auntie has come to me crying twice, if you don’t go home, be careful I’ll tie you up and take you away.”

Cheng Jingshi’s gaze landed on Gu Su’s face, the corner of his mouth revealed a meaningful smile, “Mrs. Zhang, can I ask you, in your capacity as the wife of the executive director of the Zhanghe Group, what kind of instruction is there for you to come to us, Liu An Real Estate, to be a small planner?”
Gu Su was simply wretched to the core, she didn’t expect her identity to be pierced through.
It’s no wonder Cheng Jing Shi would think too much, although Zhang He focuses on commercial real estate while Liu An specializes in residential, it’s inevitable that they will become competitors in some places and occasions. She only thought of finding a job to relieve her boredom in the beginning, and she didn’t take this layer into consideration.
She liked the working atmosphere here, but the boss had spoken, so she could no longer do it with a thick skin.
“I’m sorry, I’ll go write my resignation report right now,” Gu Su smiled apologetically, “But I think, right, someone in such a high position like Mr. Cheng shouldn’t have such sketchy ideas, it doesn’t look confident enough.”
She pushed the door open and walked out, feeling a little emotional in her heart, it turned out she didn’t even have the right to take a small job to entertain herself anymore.
There was nothing to pack, she wrote a letter of resignation to the team leader, who didn’t even know what had happened, and was just about to detain her, when Luo Xiaoan came scurrying in from outside, pulling Gu Su’s hand without letting go of her, “The team leader is on leave, and I’m going out to have a heart-to-heart talk with Su Su.”
Gu Su was yanked by her and stumbled all the way out of the building to a nearby coffee shop, where Cheng Jingshi was actually there, ordering a cappuccino each for the two of them.
“Su Su, I’m sorry,” Luo Xiao An’s eyes were a little red, apologizing one after another, “I didn’t know you were Zhang Cheng Yu’s wife, I was just talking nonsense, don’t you care.”

“I also lied to you, I’m not a small staff member, I escaped from marriage.” Luo Xiaoan glared viciously at Cheng Jingshi, “He still wants to be an accomplice.”
Cheng Jingshi raised his hands to beg for forgiveness, “Okay, okay, I don’t dare anymore, okay? Just by saying two words, I’ve offended both beauties.”
“Su Su, don’t quit, I’m also leaving if you quit, you’re the first friend I’ve made since I returned to China.” Luo Xiaoan sniffled and stepped on Cheng Jingshi in the process.
Cheng Jingshi coughed lightly and looked at Gu Su sincerely, “Give me some face, okay? What you said is very right, I shouldn’t be afraid even if Zhang Chengyu personally came to Liu An to go undercover, let alone you.”
Gu Su pursed her lips, “Aren’t you afraid that I’ll leak business secrets?”
“No, I’m willing to trust the character of someone who is willing to play the Four Little Swans for a child.” Cheng Jingshi’s gaze fell on Gu Su’s long, white fingers.
Gu Su froze for a moment, finally remembering where she had seen this man, “You are …… your daughter is so cute.”
“Thank you, but that’s my niece, she’s very naughty, don’t let her appearance delude you.” Cheng Jingshi said with a smile.
Luo Xiaoan looked at Cheng Jing and then at Gu Su, feeling a little regretful for no reason. The two people’s temperaments were very compatible, but it was a pity that Gu Su was married and they met too late.
The atmosphere finally eased down, by the time one cup of coffee was finished, the three of them were already talking and laughing, and the resignation storm was over. Luo Xiaoan even came up with an idea for Gu Su, if Zhang Cheng Yu really dares to have an affair, she must tell her, she knows very powerful lawyers, and when the time comes to catch him in the act, she will be sure to scrape off a layer of skin from Zhang Cheng Yu’s body.
When she came home from work, Gu Su was in a much better mood. Going out to work was really a very good decision, if she stayed at home alone, she was afraid that she would have been suffocated to death.
Zhang Chengyu still didn’t come home for dinner, Gu Su was eating dinner while listening to Aunt Wu ramble, “What’s wrong with Chengyu, Su Su, you too, why don’t you make a phone call to ask, now the little goblins out there can be very powerful, you watch out for Chengyu …….”
Gu Su smiled, everyone says to look after your man, but if you have to rely on watching to be able to keep a man’s heart, is he still your man?
Zhang Chengyu came home very late with a breath of alcohol, Gu Su finished washing up and leaned on the bed reading a book. Seeing this, she had to wear pajamas and get up to help him get him lemon and honey water.
Zhang Cheng Yu tugged on his collar and leaned in the bedroom doorway, looking at her with a smile on his face, “Why, don’t you sleep in a bedroom with me?”
Gu Su stood on tiptoes and handed the cup to his mouth, but Zhang Chengyu staggered back and said, “Is there… something else added to this…?”
Gu Su couldn’t understand and explained, “This is lemon honey water, drink it to detoxify the alcohol, your head won’t hurt so much.”
Zhang Cheng Yu did not move a muscle, Gu Su had to feed him half of it little by little.
“We can’t talk about it if you’re like this,” Gu Su said bitterly, “Let’s wait until you’re sober tomorrow.”
“Talk about what? Talk about the contract your father asked me to guarantee? He’s already called me five times in the past two days of work, and I’m still wondering why you haven’t moved, are you feeding on me?” Zhang Cheng Yu staggered to her side and pinched her chin.
Gu Su was in pain and raised her hand to grab his hand, “Zhang Cheng Yu what are you doing! Let go!”
Zhang Cheng Yu fell with the momentum, his entire body pressed on top of hers, Gu Su was unsteady on her feet, and the two of them collapsed onto the bed together.
Zhang Cheng Yu inhaled and a vague fragrance of linglan was seeping into his nose, and he subconsciously sucked on the soft, smooth, and sweet-smelling skin as he lay on his back.
Gu Su exclaimed in shock, her voice all changed tone a bit, “Cheng Yu you get up …… you’re hurting me …… ah …… ”
Zhang Cheng Yu bit on her shoulder and said vaguely, “They’re right, you’re really scheming, is this considered seducing me?”
Gu Su clenched her teeth and struggled hard, “Go away, don’t touch me.”
Zhang Cheng Yu easily pressed down on her legs, allowing her hands to push and shove in front of his chest, narrowing his eyes and letting out a light laugh, “Hush, don’t make noise ……”
Such a Zhang Cheng Yu was seductive and charming, and Gu Su had a moment of disorientation. Over the past two years, the two of them had basically just gone through the motions in their sexual affairs, without much passion or romance, which made her fearful of sex at one point.
Before she could return to her senses, there was a clanking sound as Zhang Chengyu ripped open her pajama top, and the buttons tumbled to the floor.
Gu Su did not want to make love to him in this inexplicable way at all, taking advantage of the gap between Zhang Cheng Yu’s undressing, she pushed hard and fell off the bed with a roll.
Before she could crawl a meter away, Zhang Cheng Yu gripped her waist, and with a push, her entire body was picked up and thrown onto the bed in a burst of blindness.
“Don’t pretend, okay? Pretending too much is so fake that I want to puke.” Zhang Cheng Yu’s voice was cold.
Tears flowed down from the corners of Gu Su’s eyes, it was as if she heard the sound of something breaking, she futilely reached out her hand, trying to catch the shards, but could only watch it fall to the ground, being crushed by someone’s foot.
She gave up resisting and quietly closed her eyes.
Hot tears dripped onto Zhang Cheng Yu’s arm, and after a moment of confused pause, he suddenly leaned down and kissed the corner of Gu Su’s eyes.
His movements became gentle, the after-effects of the alcohol coming in bursts after bursts, he was awake at times and confused at others.
“What are you crying for,” he murmured subconsciously, “It’s silly to cry when you’re such an adult.”
The body’s instincts struck, Gu Su couldn’t control the trembling, only the trembling in her body couldn’t erase the despair in her heart: who did he take her for? Why was he so cold and heartless one moment, but so gentle the next?
