SABL Chapter 40

Tears rolled down without warning.

With his wrists tightly gripped by Lu Yunye, Shi Yi could only stare wide-eyed desperately. His eyelashes fluttered like butterfly wings, and tears flowed down the corners of his eyes.

Due to the tears, the ends of his eyes were red, and the tip of his nose appeared cold and white under the moonlight. He was like a delicate glass doll, trembling under Lu Yunye’s hands.

Lu Yunye stared at his eyelashes, his throat moved slightly, and he couldn’t help kissing him.

Shi Yi only felt his eyelids heat up. The kiss was hot and intense, as if stimulated by something chaotic and disorderly.

Shi Yi couldn’t see clearly, and even his eyelids were lightly nipped. He retreated subconsciously, but was held even tighter by Lu Yunye. In the end, he was forced to raise his head, watching as the kiss moved from the corner of his eyes to his lips.

Heart beating violently, Shi Yi panicked and closed his eyes again. Lu Yunye had just finished exercising, so the smell of his pheromones was stronger than usual, like a pine forest washed by a new rain, going straight into his heart.

They were so close, as if he was going to be swallowed in the next second. Lu Yunye paused on his lips, his breathing heavy, “I want to kiss you.”

“Mmm…” Shi Yi was about to open his mouth to refute, but was forcefully invaded by the other party. During the exchange of lips and teeth, he felt that a pine tree seemed to be taking root in his body, and both inside and out were invaded by Lu Yunye’s taste.

There are still drops of water hanging on alpha’s body, dampening Shi Yi’s clothing. His wrists which were pinched hurt a little, and he couldn’t help crying out in pain, “Lu… Lu Yunye!”

The force holding him faded in an instant, and the alpha took a few steps back unconsciously. Lu Yunye’s chest was heaving violently, showing his unsteady emotions.

“Why did you come down?” His voice was rough and grainy like sandpaper, making Shi Yi tense.

Shi Yi wasn’t feeling well, but when he heard the slightly reproachful note in his words, his voice hardened. “I saw you underwater for a long time, so I thought something happened.”

Lu Yunye looked at him, as if evaluating the authenticity of this sentence. His clothes were soaked, and he looked even thinner with the fabric stuck to his body. Rubbing his red wrists, his expression was awkward and embarrassed, and the corners of his lips were bright, and slightly swollen.

A little pitiful.

His heart twitched with a sour emotion he had never experienced before.

“Go in, don’t catch a cold.” Lu Yunye said.

Shi Yi turned his head and was about to leave, only to realize that he came down in a hurry and didn’t wear shoes. But there was no one to rely on, so he could only stride forward in a fit of anger.

“Wait.” The sound of footsteps came from behind him.

Shi Yi didn’t intend to stop, continuing to move forward, when he found himself suddenly suspended in the air.

Lu Yunye put one arm around his waist, lifted him up with a little force, then hooked an arm under his knees, and lifted him above his shoulder.1it’s not a princess carry! It’s a potato sack carry

Shi Yi didn’t have much flesh on his stomach, so when the shoulder pushed into his stomach, it felt like his internal organs were about to shift. He hammered Lu Yunye twice, but the alpha didn’t feel anything at all.

“Let me down. Isn’t this awkward?”

“This is a professional posture for carrying hostages,” Lu Yunye said lightly. Frankly speaking, this posture is standard and scientific, and is the most optimal for both parties in an emergency.

After returning upstairs, Shi Yi took his clothes and went directly to the guest room.

What was it all about? He ran down because he was worried. Not to mention being splashed with water, he was even forcefully kissed. What made him angry was not the dominating actions, but his body’s subconscious catering to it. He admitted that when he was just let go, his legs and feet were a little weak, and the back of his neck was also slightly hot from the stimulation.

But Lu Yunye didn’t seem to be affected much except for the initial loss of control.

Omega’s obedience to high-level alphas is engraved in their genes, and helps them produce better offspring. That this kind of impulse is not based on any feelings made him ashamed.

The previous shower was for nothing. He cleaned himself up again, and changed into new pajamas. When he passed by the mirror, he found that the corners of his mouth were swollen, and there was a tingling pain at the touch.

Shi Yi lay on the bed in the guest room, and habitually shrank to the right side. When he realized he was the only one on the bed, he moved back to the middle.

There was a knock on the door, followed by Lu Yunye’s voice, “Have you finished washing up?”

Shi Yi huddled himself into a ball, pretending not to hear anything.

“Get up and drink some ginger soup, or you’ll catch a cold.”

Shi Yi closed his eyes and forced himself to ignore him.

The door lock was turned gently – Lu Yunye should have spare keys for each room. Seeing that he was about to come in, Shi Yi couldn’t pretend to be asleep anymore, and half sat up and glared at him.

Lu Yunye entered the door with soup in hand only to see an omega nestled on the bed like an embarrassed little animal, with red eyes full of hostility towards him.

“Why didn’t you say anything?” Lu Yunye brought the bowl over. “Drink it up.”

Shi Yi took the bowl without saying a word, and finished it in big gulps. The soup was freshly made, steaming hot still, and so strong that Shi Yi choked on it before he could notice. He immediately coughed while holding onto the quilt.

The grievances of the whole night seemed to have found an outlet. Driven by the spice of the ginger soup, tears rolled out continuously, one after another, but there was no sound.

Lu Yunye looked at him silently, and finally wiped the tears with his rough fingertips, “Sorry.”

“I felt a little irritable after drinking the soft-shelled turtle soup, that’s why I went swimming,” he explained in a low voice. “I didn’t expect you to come down.”

Exercise speeds up blood circulation, and pheromones will be more difficult to control. This is why gyms will have AO partitions, and pheromone isolation stickers must be worn.

Appearing suddenly during such a critical period, if he didn’t believe Shi Yi’s character, he would have suspected that the other party was plotting something wrong.

“I’ll sleep here tonight,” Shi Yi shrank back under the quilt, feeling ashamed. Although he’s a sensitive person, he doesn’t like showing his emotions. Having committed several gaffes in front of Lu Yunye made him even more ashamed.

“No,” Lu Yunye insisted, “You may have a cold tonight, I will stay with you in the guest room.”

Shi Yi didn’t want to fight anymore, so he turned sideways and remained silent. The bed in the guest room is not as spacious as the master bedroom, so Lu Yunye leaned against the head of the bed, pinching the space between his brows impatiently.

Because his exercise was interrupted midway, the energy in the body was obviously not fully released. Back in his early twenties, when he was at his peak in the army, when they couldn’t keep up with the amount of training, they had to go out to run laps at night.

Venting is very simple, especially on rainy days when everyone is suffocating in the dormitory. A look can spark a fire, not to mention going to the training ground to spar, many problems can be cured with fighting back then.

And now… Lu Yunye looked at Shi Yi who was curled up beside him, petite and soft, as if even a little force might hurt him. His emotions were changeable and sensitive, and he seemed a completely different species as an alphas.

He didn’t take the initiative to hug Shi Yi, but in the middle of the night, he felt something in his arms. Lu Yunye’s guess was right – Shi Yi had a fever. His hands and feet were cold while his body was hot, and one could hear his teeth chattering at a close distance.

The omega subconsciously searched for heat in his sleep, so he buried himself against Lu Yunye’s chest, which was firm and hot, with a dry woody fragrance, moaning, until Lu Yunye stretched out his arms to hug him.

Shi Yi’s physique is weak, so it’s normal for him to catch a cold after being splashed with water. He already drank ginger soup, and had a healthy dinner, so Lu Yunye hugged him to help sweat it out, and his temperature had indeed dropped a little in the morning.

It’s just that he didn’t expect Shi Yi’s low-grade fever to persist for several days. Even his pale face was flushed red, and his eyes were blurred.

Lu Yunye stayed with him at home, and by the next afternoon, the glands on the back of Shi Yi’s neck began to swell. He tossed and turned on the bed restlessly, not even wanting to take the medicine.

The smell of pheromones in the air gradually became stronger. Lu Yunye carefully smelled it – it wasn’t like estrus or a cold. The continuous low-grade fever made his face pale, and it looked as if even a thin quilt was able to crush him.

Waiting is not an option. Shi Yi didn’t want to go to the hospital, so he planned to ask Song Wei to come and have a look.

However, just as he took the phone out, Shi Yi seemed to see his intentions, and said stubbornly, “I won’t go to the hospital, and don’t call Dr. Song over.”

He’s not sick, it’s just that he can’t explain his current feelings clearly. There’s no pain and his nose is cleared up, but he still feels hot, annoyed, and has no strength.

There is no menacing desire like an estrus period, but it is like a blunt knife cutting flesh, bit by bit tormenting his mind. Shi Yi took the medicine used to treat his glands, but it didn’t help.

“No,” Lu Yunye lowered his hands and stared at him, his face full of condemnation. After searching for the appropriate vocabulary in his brain, he just said, “You’re not well.”

Shi Yi: …

In order to prevent Lu Yunye from saying anything more surprising, Shi Yi had no choice but to say, “Send me to my doctor, okay?”

“What hospital?” Lu Yunye asked.

Shi Yi mentioned the name of a clinic. In the years when Shu Wen took him and tried to escape, they didn’t have much money, and couldn’t afford expensive medicines. This doctor helped them a few times out of his own pocket, so when Shi Yi grew up, he kept doing checkups with him.

No one knows Shi Yi’s physical condition better than him.

“I made an appointment before, and it’s been almost two days. Let’s go and have a look first.” Shi Yi said.

Lu Yunye packed his things and drove there directly. It was noon, and there were quite a lot of people in the outpatient clinic. Lu Yunye seldom had to wait in line to see a doctor, and he sat in the row of chairs and waited anxiously.

After waiting for another half an hour, someone finally called them in. The doctor is a beta around 40 or 50 years old. When he saw Shi Yi, he put down the things in his hands and greeted him, “What’s the matter?”

“He was drenched in water a few days ago and had a little fever, but hasn’t recovered since then.” Lu Yunye said.

The doctor looked back and forth between the two of them a few times, and his eyes finally fell on Shi Yi, “Your partner?”2in reality the term used is 談朋友 which is kind of like asking if they slept together, are dating, etc.

“Yes.” The relationship between him and Lu Yunye is too complicated, so he can only explain it like this first.

“Let me take a look.” The doctor put on gloves, lightly pressed the back of Shi Yi’s neck a few times, and asked him about his usual symptoms.

“Are you still taking the medicine?” the doctor asked.

“I seldom eat it,” Shi Yi said. “I’ve been controlling the dosage. I only eat a little when it’s too much.”

Lu Yunye pursed his thin lips as he listened. He didn’t know what medicine Shi Yi took or how often he took it.

An uncertain expression appeared on the doctor’s face: “Let’s do an exam first.”

Lu Yunye’s heart was hanging as they did the inspection. Once the process was over, the doctor stared at the ultrasound repeatedly to confirm, and finally said, “I have never seen such a situation. Your glands have developed.”
