The crime of abandonment…
Shi Yi couldn’t say a word. The law does stipulate that alphas must accompany their marked partner through estrus. But enforcement of this has never been strict, and there are quite a few alphas who abandon their partners in need.
After all, the system is determined by the stronger side, and omegas’ right to speak is actually very limited.
“I won’t report it,” Shi Yi finally responded. “Yesterday was an accident, you don’t have to…”
Lu Yunye seemed to have expected him to say this a long time ago, and interrupted smoothly, “If you go out with my mark, within a day, half the capital will know about it.”
“You’re also an unmarried omega. Are you really not afraid of the consequences?”
Shi Yi was speechless. He was aware of some of the rumors about him floating around. As the president of Feiyi, his personal image is directly linked to the corporate image, so the incident with Feng Muqing also affected the stock price.
What’s more, if the Shi family finds out that he slept with Lu Yunye and was marked… who knows how Shi Jinpeng will use it to disgust Lu Yunye.
Lu Yunye helped him all , and Shi Yi didn’t want him to get involved in the Shi family mess.
From this angle, staying at the Lu family for a few days is actually a good choice.
Shi Yi coughed a few times, highlighting the dry itchiness in his throat. Someone thoughtfully put a water glass beside the bed, and he picked it up and drank a couple of sips, then said to Lu Yunye, “Thank you.”
“You kept asking for water last night.” Lu Yunye remained expressionless.
His words sparked Shi Yi’s memory, and his face flushed red. He was the one clamoring for water, because his throat was hoarse from crying. In the end, he couldn’t even cry, and was almost exhausted.
He placed the water glass away from him as if it burned his hands, and grabbed a pillow guiltily. Suddenly realizing that it was the pillow placed under his waist last night, he couldn’t decide whether to hold or put it down for a while.
Looking at the helpless person on the bed, Lu Yunye wanted to laugh a little.
The high-intensity exercise last night had little effect on him. President Lu still opened his eyes at 8:00 am under the influence of his biological clock, and even asked his secretary to check Shi Yi’s family background.
The file is quietly lying on his computer. There isn’t much information, and Shi Yi’s past is very simple.
His omega father, Shu Wen, was originally a professor at a fashion design college, and also Shi Jinpeng’s second omega. Shi Yi has two half-brothers, from his father’s first marriage. He basically isn’t involved in the physical theater business of the Shi family, and runs a medium-sized clothing design company.
Lu Yunye finally understood why his own artist had an intersection with Shi Yi. Xia Qian is a long-term contracted model of Feiyi.
Rumor is that Shi Yi is an omega with a weird temper and defective glands. Before being engaged to the Feng family, he had almost no sense of existence.
He looked at omega who was still struggling on the bed. His short hair was scratched in a mess, and the blush on his face hadn’t faded. Completely different from the person coldly holding a glass of red wine last night.
The corners of his lips hooked up. Lu Yunye asked, “Have you considered it?”
“I can go to Lu’s house,” Shi Yi raised his head. “But I want to tell my family and friends.”
Lu Yunye raised his chin, indicating that his mobile phone was in the pile of crumpled clothes on the ground.
With a blushing face, Shi Yi found his cell phone, deliberately ignoring the suspicious stains on his clothing. The call just now was from Xia Qian. From last night to now, there have been more than ten calls, and even more unread messages were piled up.
[One small qian1Xia Qian’s contact name. Qian = the same one in his name: Shi Yi, are you alright? Did you fight with Shi Yuan again?]
[The party is over, why haven’t you come back yet?]
…
[Shi Yi, don’t scare me!!]
Hitting the call button, Xia Qian’s side connected immediately. One could tell how chaotic his side was with the cacophony of voices in the background.
“Shi Yi, where did you go last night!” Xia Qian’s anxious voice came. “Is everything okay?”
“I was a little uncomfortable and went back early.” Shi Yi said.
“Are you better now?” Xia Qian didn’t doubt his excuse. Shi Yi doesn’t like to attend these activities, and his health is not very good, so leaving early is normal. “I thought you were dragged out by some dog alpha and eaten clean.”
“No possible,” Shi Yi laughed dryly, fearing that a certain dog alpha would overhear him, so he hung up the phone after a few more words.
Xia Qian is relatively simple. He will generally believe everything he says. But his dad is different.
After a deep breath, Shi Yi dialed another number.
“Hello, Xiao Yi?” Shu Wen’s gentle voice came over.
“Dad,” Shi Yi called out. “How is your body feeling recently?”
“It’s still the same,” Shu Wen smiled. “The cough is much better.”
“En.” Shi Yi replied softly. “Did father say anything when he went back last night?”
“I don’t know who offended him, but he lost his temper again.” Shu Wen sighed. “Don’t you know his character already?”
After a while, he asked: “Did something happen?”
“No, no,” Shi Yi said hurriedly. “It’s just… I’ll be busy with work these two days, but I’ll go back to see you in a few days.”
He moved out a few years ago and now lives in Shu Wen’s former bachelor’s apartment. He only goes back to visit every now and then.
“En, don’t worry about me, go do your work. There’s nothing on dad’s side.” Shu Wen said softly.
Shi Yi closed his eyes, “Dad, just wait a little longer, I’ll pick you up soon.”
“Okay.”
Shu Wen’s voice was gentle. They had repeated this kind of conversation countless times. However, every time Shi Yi tried to take Shu Wen away, Shi Jinpeng was always able to find them and take him back forcefully.
Shu Wen’s health is getting worse and worse, and he can’t stand much more tossing anymore.
After comforting his father, it took a long time for Shi Yi to regain his senses. Lu Yunye was no longer in front of the desk when he looked up. He really gave him enough time to communicate with his family and didn’t intrude on his conversation.
Shi Yi got out of bed in a daze, and went to pull the closed bathroom door.
He pulled on the door, but it didn’t open.
His mind was full of things about Shu Wen, so he subconsciously pulled it a few more times. The next second, the door automatically swung inward.
Lu Yunye’s sleeves were still rolled up, and water droplets hung on his hands. The refreshing cedar pheromones overwhelmed all those high-end colognes, and the image of him washing his hands could make one’s hormones burst.
He lowered his head to look at the omega who didn’t reach his jaw. “So anxious?”
