Chapter 48.2
It rained again at night.
The heat in the mountains is hard to build up, and with the rain, it quickly dissipates, leaving only a cool, damp atmosphere.
Yu Le had just finished his bath and came out of the bathroom with his hair half-dried. He stopped by the window and looked across diagonally. The room on the other side was lit, and he could vaguely see the silhouette of a person sitting against the window.
Yu Le recalled the pained expression on Shen Yu’s face when he realized what Lu Yao meant during dinner, him calling them a perfect match, which was both heart-wrenching and amusing.
He had never realized before how devious Lu Yao could be.
He stood by the window, feeling the breeze for a while, and waited until the silhouette stood up. He rummaged through his luggage for the item he had been searching for last time and walked over.
The corridor was filled with the dampness of the rain, and by the time he knocked on Lu Yao’s door, his skin had adjusted to the outdoor temperature and felt pleasantly cool.
Lu Yao looked at the soft ruler in his hand and raised an eyebrow.
Yu found it interesting. “What are you thinking about, big brother?”
Lu Yao let him in. “I’m wondering if I need to take my clothes off this time.”
“…” Yu Le choked for a moment. “You know you don’t have to be completely undressed to take measurements. It’s not like we’re measuring in winter coats.”
Lu Yao nodded in agreement.
Yu Le continued, “So, why did you…”
He initially wanted to say, “Why are you asking then?” but then thought of something and changed his words. “So, last time you took off your clothes, were you just too lazy to argue with a drunk?”
“That’s not entirely incorrect,” Lu Yao said, as the wind picked up a bit and he closed the window. He turned around and looked at Yu Le casually. “But to be more accurate, I just follow your instructions.”
Yu Le found the best spot for lighting and seemed to want to verify the truth of his statement. “Come stand here.”
Lu Yao walked over.
Yu used his left hand to hold the zero mark of the soft ruler, carefully measuring the dimensions he needed. Afraid of forgetting like last time, he noted down the measurements on his phone as he went along.
“Turn to the side,” he said.
Lu Yao turned sideways, leaning casually against the desk behind him, and lowered his gaze to watch Yu Le measuring him with the soft ruler.
Yu Le chatted idly, laughing. “This is the first time I’ve been so close to a hero.”
Lu Yao asked, “How so?”
Yu replied, “Well, not only did you serve the country during the Wushi period, but even in high school, when you were at your wildest, you managed to pull classmates who were about to go astray back onto the right path. Isn’t that what a hero is?”
Lu Yao smiled but did not comment.
Yu Le asked, “Hey, were those things you said to Shen Yu really true?”
Lu Yao looked up. “Which things?”
Yu Le answered, “Of course, your demands.”
Lu Yao’s eyes shifted slightly, and he looked at Yu Le’s face. “What do you think?”
“I think they are true,” Yu Le said lightly. “Looks like I’m lucky.”
Lu Yao raised his right arm under Yu’s direction. “How so?”
Yu Le measured his arm span and looked down to record the data. “I met you before I came across someone who met the criteria. Isn’t that good luck?”
There was a long pause with no response.
Yu Le looked up. “What are you thinking? Give me some reaction, Mr. Lu.”
Lu Yao crossed his arms. “Yu Le, you have a problem with your thinking.”
Yu Le hadn’t heard him call him by his full name like this for a long time and was not used to it. “What problem?”
Lu Yao said, “Generally speaking, luck can only be associated with probabilities, not absolute conditions.”
Yu Le wrapped the soft ruler around his fingers and tilted his chin, indicating for him to continue.
“You are not something that exists because of preconditions.”
Lu Yao spoke like a clear-minded philosophy teacher. “It’s because you exist that those conditions came to be. You are the objective existence that influences my subjective thoughts. Do you understand this explanation?”
Yu Le dragged out his response. “Oh?”
Lu Yao narrowed his eyes. “Oh?”
Yu Le said, “But Shen Yu said that you often used to say, ‘I don’t play with idiots.’ According to what you just said, if I were a bit more foolish—”
“I really don’t like playing with idiots.”
Lu Yao saw through his intentional provocation and interrupted him before his expression could change. He smoothly added, “But it’s about you, so it’s fine even if you’re a bit foolish.”
Yu Le tried to hold his composure but couldn’t.
In the next moment, he smiled widely and quickly gave him a kiss as a reward. “Big brother, your words are so sweet. I was waiting for that!”
Being close made it hard to retreat.
He didn’t even have time to pull away before Lu Yao pulled him into an embrace. Lu Yao’s hand pressed firmly against his lower back, and his other hand grasped the back of his neck, kissing him forcefully.
How many times had it been?
He couldn’t remember.
Yet Yu Le still couldn’t get used to Lu Yao’s rough kissing style, and his mind would be pulled into chaos within ten seconds, feeling dizzy.
His strength was practically nothing in front of Lu Yao—he couldn’t fight back or break free, so he could only breathe heavily and let himself be bullied.
Sometimes when he was bullied too harshly, he’d muster some strength to bite back, but it didn’t scare Lu Yao and only earned him a reputation for being coquettish.
On a rainy night, the sound of rain was a natural breeding ground for intimacy. The air, filled with rain, could not disperse the rising heat.
It snuck in through his disheveled collar and lingered as it left, wrapping around the marks left on his neck, and finally drifted away with the soft moans escaping from his lips.
The closeness almost pressed him into Lu Yao’s embrace, creating an intimacy greater than any before.
So this time, there was no need for a blurred heartbeat to guide them, nor an emotional exchange to feel. It was simply the closeness that conveyed the other’s feelings in the most direct way.
The initially relaxed atmosphere gradually gave way to sticky softness, a sensation of soreness spreading throughout his body to his fingertips. Yu Le found it hard to hold onto Lu Yao’s neck, and as they parted slightly, his disordered breathing became apparent.
Their foreheads touched, and their noses brushed together, gazing at each other from a distance of just a few inches.
One was anxious in the blurred and hazy feelings, the other was a greed born from intense, suppressed desire. They swallowed each other, each yearning for the other.
The unnamed emotion swelling in his chest had no place to be released. Yu Le listened to his pounding heart, his fingertips gently curling, gripping Lu Yao’s shoulder.
“Should we continue…”
He nervously swallowed, slightly tilting his head, feeling the slight friction of their lips.
The hand at his waist suddenly tightened. Lu Yao’s breath was hot against Yu Le’s skin, making him shiver, so he had to turn his head and hold him tightly with his arms.
“Le Le, I’m going to take a shower.”
Lu Yao closed his eyes and said in a hoarse voice, “You have ten minutes to think—”
“Did you forget this isn’t our first time?” Yu Le suddenly interrupted him. “What do you want me to think about?”
Lu Yao’s breathing became noticeably heavier after his words, and the breath hitting Yu’s neck made him feel as though he might be bitten any second.
He took a deep breath, looked up, and cradled Lu Yao’s face with his hands.
His eyelashes fluttered intensely, but the words he spoke were bold and hard to resist, “As I’ve said, you’re my boyfriend, not anyone else. You don’t have to hold back. I allow you to do whatever you want with me.”
“Taking a shower is fine, do you want to… bring me along?”
