HSB Chapter 21

Chapter 21

At the start of a new day, Bambi opened the metal blinds, knowing that the invisible mister had left, but she wasn’t disappointed this time.

Because she was sure the mister would come back again.

First, she cleaned herself up, tying her hair into two messy pigtails. Bambi changed out of the lace dress which was too prickly.

Finding that the magic ball was still glowing, Bambi held the magic ball and turned it upside down. She saw that there was a concave section on the white side, so she tentatively pressed it with her little finger. The white light disappeared.

Then she pressed down on the other colors, and she was surprised to find that each color could be pressed to emit a corresponding color of light that was bright but not blinding. It was very pretty.

The little girl seemed to have obtained a novel toy, and after playing with all the colors, she carefully put the magic ball in the bedroom, not daring to play with it again, afraid that the “electricity” would run out and it would not light up when the time came.

She walked towards the kitchen. The cooktop was lowered by Ivan, so when Bambi put a stool down, with her height, she was now able to use it.

Bambi picked up a small pot and boiled water inside. Without much thought, she poured the bottle of organic mineral water into the small pot and carefully turned on the gas.

Gas was dangerous. Bambi squatted a little away from it with her teddy bear in her arms, watching over the gas. Once the water boiled, she would be able to turn it off as soon as possible.

It didn’t take long for a bottle of water to boil, and after a few minutes, the small pot made a grumbling sound. Bambi hurriedly stood up and turned off the gas, then returned to the living room, ready to open the baby formula.

After the baby formula lid was opened, there was also a layer of sealed metal inside. Bambi didn’t have much strength and couldn’t pull it open, so she had to use a knife to pierce the seam little by little, to slowly cut it open.

Although her arms were sore and hurting, Bambi was energized by the thought of the joy of drinking baby formula.

It took more than ten minutes when Bambi finally pried open the metal sheet. She wiped off the sweat beads on her forehead. Breathing in the unique milky aroma of baby formula, the little girl licked her rosebud lips. She couldn’t wait to take out the baby bottle that had not been used for a long time. She carefully washed it with boiling water and then made herself a full bottle of milk in one breath!

She sat on the sofa holding the formula bottle and drank. Her eyes were bent into small crescent shapes, and her thin little legs were swinging in the air. She appeared to be in absolute bliss.

Jellal logged into the game and saw the picture of the little one holding a baby bottle and drinking happily.

He glanced at the dining table, and through the baby formula powder stains left on the knife and open can of baby formula, he came to the conclusion that the little one used the knife to open the new can of baby formula and then boiled water to brew it.

Jellal didn’t think about where the baby formula came from, just as Julius didn’t think about how the magic ball appeared. They unconsciously ignored this detail.

In fact, Jellal was reflecting on why he had logged into the game through the NR projector early this morning on a new day.

He was to go out to meet the third prince, Ethan, shortly to discuss some things. He should be dressing himself and making preparations for the meeting at this time.

Staring at the little one’s joyous expression as she happily drank milk, Jellal could only conclude that he wanted to see if the little one was feeling any aftereffects after recovering from the high fever.

Now it seemed, she was very well.

The System popped up. [Please increase your intimacy with Bambi ASAP, otherwise, you won’t be able to buy weapons for Bambi to defend herself with.]

[Note that although the base laser gun is powerful, it is a disposable weapon. Most importantly, it is too heavy to be picked up and used by Bambi at her current age and physique.]

[There are too many changing variables in the apocalypse. Danger is around every corner. As Bambi’s father, it is your responsibility to oversee Bambi’s safety.]

Jellal said nonchalantly, “You talk too much.”

“…”

The System automatically went silent.

Jellal glanced at the suspended “0” in the upper right corner, walked up to the sofa, and looked down at the little one.

‘So small.’

A megaphone button popped up on the little one’s head. Slender fingers tapped on it.

“……what should I give to Mister? Mister is so nice to me, but I don’t know what to give him. So troublesome.”

Jellal raised an eyebrow.

She wanted to give him something?

Bambi burped and rolled over to talk to her teddy bear, her little face blanketed by a serious glum.

Jellal’s gaze shifted toward the teddy bear, his eyebrows pinched together again, and finally, he forcibly looked away to avoid being polluted by the teddy bear’s dirty appearance.

He wanted to see what the little one would give him.

As for not being able to buy weapons in the store without intimacy points, the corners of Jellal’s mouth rose with a smile on his face.

“…”

The System had a bad feeling of premonition.

Unexpectedly, Jellal himself went offline.

After having breakfast, Jellal changed out of his clothes and walked out of the palace gate. Tobias had already parked the aircraft in the doorway and opened the door. “My lord.”

Jellal stooped, got inside, and sat down.

Half an hour later, the aircraft landed on a green lawn. Another aircraft was also parked next to it that had a long ornate plume blowing in the wind.

“My lord, the Avis are here too.”

“I see it.”

In front of the lawn are several connected high-rise buildings, which were the military command center of the Astra Empire, where Ethan worked when he was not on duty.

After walking for a while, a sergeant in military uniform saw Jellal and bowed to him. “Greetings Lord Jellal.”

Jellal nodded in response.

He was a frequent visitor here and held an idle position as an instructor without a title in the military department.

What was an instructor without a title?

It meant he could teach anything.

From combat, commanders, and reconnaissance…as long as he wanted to teach, all different types were available to him.

He was also called the Devil Drill Sergeant by many soldiers who have already graduated.

As soon as Jellal entered the lobby, a lieutenant hurriedly greeted him and said respectfully, “Lord Jellal, the general is waiting for you in the office.”

Jellal asked, “Who came from the Avis Clan?”

The lieutenant said, “It’s the Phoenix King.”

Jellal didn’t ask anymore, but Tobias was curious. “What is the Phoenix King doing here?”

The Avis, like the Dragons, did not have many clansmen. Most of them lived in the Mirage Forest that was charted out by the Astra Empire and they usually did not like going out, not even taking human form.

They once lived on a planet that was suitable for the Avis Clan to live on. Later affected by the war, a large number of the Avis became infected and died. Later, the previous Phoenix King joined the emperor’s camp and formed an alliance to stop the intruders, bringing about the unification of the Astra Empire.

In the final process, the previous Phoenix King died tragically. After the Astra Empire was united, the emperor divided and gave the Avis a forest that was suitable for them to live in and named it Mirage Forest, allowing the remaining Avis to live there freely.

Tristan, the son of the Phoenix King, was raised by the emperor in the palace until Tristan came of age and became the next generation Phoenix King.

After the great war, the remaining Avis longed for a peaceful life, and only a few lively clansmen lived in the center of the imperial capital like ordinary people, including the current Phoenix King Tristan.

……

The lieutenant replied, “The Phoenix King came to ask the general for a few fighter aircrafts.”

Tobias was a little surprised and confused, “Who does he want to fight the fighter aircrafts with?”

The lieutenant shook his head and explained in detail, “The Phoenix King was ordered by the emperor to cooperate with the seventh prince to establish a charity foundation, which is intended to help refugees on some remote planets, so fighter aircrafts were needed to transport supplies.”

That cleared it up for Tobias.

The lack of resources on the barren planets meant that there wouldn’t be much order kept in place to maintain people’s safety. Using fighter aircraft to deliver supplies would also serve a protective role.

The group of three people took the elevator to the 22nd floor.

The lieutenant pushed open the door to Ethan’s office. “General, Lord Jellal has arrived.”

“Jellal.” Ethan smiled and beckoned, “Coming so early? It’s not your style.”

Jellal said indifferently, “Are you saying that I am usually late?”

Ethan’s smile didn’t wane, not caring about the oppressive aura that Jellal gave off. “Aren’t you?”

Jellal: “…”

“Lord Jellal.” Tristan sat in a chair on the side. When Jellal came in, he stood up.

Today Jellal didn’t even wear a suit. He wore a simple and casual outfit, a pair of black-framed glasses on the bridge of his slender nose, and no other flashy accessories to go with his outfit. He looks like a handsome and scholarly professor.

Jellal nodded his chin towards Ethan. “You came to ask him for some fighter aircrafts?”

Tristan pushed up his glasses and sighed. “Yes, but Ethan seems to have some concerns and does not want to give them to me.”

“When did you become so stingy?” Jellal looked at Ethan. “He is cooperating with your stupid rich brother to do charity. Why can’t you invest in a few fighter aircrafts?”

Tristan picked up the coffee next to him and took a sip, a smile flashed through his eyes.

It was said that the oldest Lord Jellal had a strange temper. Even if he and Ethan were “forget-the-age” friends, they would still turn against each other in a disagreement.

It was probably because Ethan had just dissed him for being “late”.

Tristan put down his coffee cup and wisely chose not to speak.

Ethan coughed and tried to justify for his younger brother, saying, “How is Julius stupid?”

Jellal smiled, as if silently saying ‘stupid everywhere.’

……

“Achoo!” Julius, who was driving to the black market to find the NR equipment, sneezed, wondering which bastard was scolding him behind his back.
