When Zhang Zhang woke up again, she saw nothing but darkness.
But cockroaches have strong night vision, so this little darkness is no problem for them.
Zhang Zhang looked around and found that it was a strange place, a bit like a basement.
She wanted to move her body, but found that her six legs were entangled by golden threads, but there was a fluffy blanket under her.
What happened?
“Click.”
Just as Zhang Zhang was puzzled, the door of the basement opened and a figure walked away in silhouette.
Although Zhang Zhang could not see the face clearly, she knew it was Fu Yiting by the sound of the footsteps.
Fu Yiting stood in front of Zhang Zhang steadily, looked down at her, and said in a low voice: “Awake?”
Zhang Zhang moved her antennae.
“It’s good that you’ve woken up. This is the basement of the villa. You can reflect on yourself here for a while.”
Fu Yiting’s tone was a mix of three parts of sneer, three parts coldness, and four parts indifference. [1] “You better behave and adapt to your ‘Fu family cockroach’ role.”

In this context, it means that Fu Yiting’s tone combined different emotions:
三分讥笑 (sān fēn jīxiào): Three parts sneer—indicating a mocking or contemptuous attitude.
三分薄凉 (sān fēn bōliáng): Three parts cold—signifying a distant or indifferent demeanour.
四分漫不经心 (sì fēn màn bù jīnxīn): Four parts of indifference—reflecting a nonchalant or unconcerned attitude.
Fu Yiting looked at Zhang Zhang who was still thinking about escaping.
He thought of something, and then changed the subject, “And your cockroach nest… is gone. You can’t go anywhere now, and don’t even think about leaving the Fu family.”
There seemed to be a hint of pride in Fu Yiting’s tone.
Zhang Zhang understood the implication of Fu Yiting’s words and looked at him in disbelief.
Zhang Zhang’s anger made her antennae stand upright.
She wanted to rush over and kill the man in front of her, but she was pulled by the silk thread on her body and fell back into the blanket.
“Give up, you can’t escape,” Fu Yiting said with a cold, superior indifference in his eyes.
Zhang Zhang was furious. She hated the man in front of her and herself for not recognizing him sooner, which led to the downfall of her roach clan. She shouldn’t have come here in the first place.
Fu Yiting didn’t say much, just put down the food in his hand and left the basement without looking back.
Fu Yiting returned to his room and watched Zhang Zhang’s every move through the surveillance in the basement.
“Don’t let me down, little cockroach…”

After Fu Yiting left, the basement returned to silence and darkness, leaving only Zhang Zhang immersed in regret.
She never expected that she wouldn’t be able to escape and would end up being imprisoned here by Fu Yiting using the “small black room” method.
She even ended up with her home and clan destroyed.
Zhang Zhang was unwilling to accept this fate.
But now she didn’t even have the chance to escape and avenge her cockroaches. How could she, a southern cockroach that dominated the sewers, have suffered such injustice?
Zhang Zhang was heartbroken, but she could do nothing, so she started a hunger strike in protest.
In just three days, Zhang Zhang’s originally shiny shell became dull and her body became much thinner.
Fu Yiting asked the servants to prepare food for Zhang Zhang in different ways, but she still didn’t eat a bite.
The door of the basement was opened again. It was Fu Yiting who came in. He held food in his hand and looked at Zhang Zhang lying on the blanket motionless, lifeless, as if the cockroach would break in the next second.
He said, “Cockroach, what do you want to do? Do you want to attract my attention with such a trick?”
Zhang Zhang looked like she was dying, and she had no intention of paying attention to Fu Yiting.
Fu Yiting was completely enraged by Zhang Zhang’s behaviour.
For the first time in his life, he cared so much about a cockroach, but it turned a blind eye, damn cockroach!
Fu Yiting, in a frenzy, said, “You’re the first cockroach to dare treat me like this!”
Fu Yiting, seemingly going mad, inexplicably dumped the food in front of Zhang Zhang and then smashed the plate on the ground, shattering it into pieces.
He said viciously, “Cockroach, I advise you to stop and don’t challenge my patience again.”
Then he left without looking back.
Zhang Zhang, observing Fu Yiting’s furious outburst, fell into deep thought.
Perhaps I should try to gain his trust to better escape from here.
Zhang Zhang formed a plan in her mind.
She quietly looked at the food in front of her, picked up a portion with her forelimbs, and slowly began to eat it, chewing it slowly and carefully.
