TLM Chapter 47

The name Feng Mingyue had shaken Long Huayan's stone heart.

“You!” Feng Zhongshan was so furious that he lifted one of his hands to point at Feng Baiming while his body trembled uncontrollably, and his other hand was grabbing the armrest so hard that the blue vein was visible.

Xu Baiming stood up, brushing the non-existent dirt from his sleeve indifferently, then he helped Feng Mingyue up and the two went out together while Xu Baiming didn’t forget to leave a few words. “I only want to tell you this just to let you know, and stop bothering me again from now on.”

Wu Zhisu was so shocked that she was finally able to make some sound. “You…you..how could you talk to your father like this?!”

However, her words were no use since the two people had already left. Feng Zhongshan’s face was gloomy, he couldn’t help throwing away the teacup near his hand, making it shatter on the ground. Seeing that her husband was not in a good mood, Wu Zhisu could only sit there silently, fearing that she would be killed on the spot if she made a slight noise.

When they returned to the Ehuang Courtyard, Feng Mingyue’s weak appearance disappeared in an instant. She sat inside the gazebo in a relaxed manner, and couldn’t help letting out a blissful laugh. Xu Baiming sat on the opposite side of Feng Mingyue, he poured a cup of tea for his second sister and himself.

Feng Mingyue took the teacup that was passed by Xu Baiming, placed it near her nose, and smelled it lightly. “You did a good job today.”

Xu Baiming took a sip of tea, and said coldly, “In fact, I shouldn’t inform him.”

Feng Mingyue lifted her brows in surprise. “Why?”

Xu Baiming placed the teacup on the table, he then looked at the pond nearby. With an icy voice, he said, “That man isn’t worthy of my words.”

Hearing this, Feng Mingyue laughed out loud, feeling that this little brother was courageous and had never been afraid of death, he even dared to confront Eunuch Wu with his cold face. Perhaps, this teenager might not even be afraid of the son of heaven. However, the type of person, who had never fear of anything, yet had never been arrogant, was a person that gained Feng Mingyue’s respect the most.

While Feng Mingyue was laughing happily with satisfaction, everyone glanced at her with some worry, which made Feng Mingyue a bit puzzled. “What’s wrong?”

Li Qin immediately asked with an anxious expression, “Miss, how is your tongue?”

Feng Mingyue was perplexed. “A-Ah?”

“Yes, is it still hurt?” Wei Xue, on the other hand, also asked. He seemed to even want to check Feng Mingyue’s tongue in person.

Only then did Feng Mingyue realize what they were worried about. Thus, she smiled at them and said confidently, “I’m fine, just a mere injury is nothing to me.”

When the answer came out, the four maids and Xu Baiming glanced at her strangely. Feng Mingyue was bewildered once again. “Did I say something wrong?”

Mei Li shook her head and said emotionally, “Miss, when you were young, a little scratch had already made you cry for two hours.”

Feng Mingyue was speechless. She had never thought the original owner would be this fragile. In her past, even though she was born into a prosperous family, Feng Mingyue had never relied on how well-off she was to live happily. The more her family took good care of her, and never let her experience those hard things, the more she wanted to try it.

Therefore, Feng Mingyue often climbed the mountain to do some more research about herbs. She went to learn martial arts, horse riding, archery and even cooking. As long as she was free, Feng Mingyue would let herself experience what normal people lived. Because of this reason, she was never afraid of encountering any difficulty. So, biting her tongue was not a serious matter.

While Feng Mingyue was still in deep thought, Sheng Yi’s magnetic voice sounded, “Right, what on earth happened to you earlier when Eunuch Wu mentioned the Duke of Xing’s name? Do you have any grudge against this person?”

Feng Mingyue was stunned by this question. Have a grudge against that person? She had never met that man before, so how could she hold a grudge against him? It was because he had the same name as her brother that Feng Mingyue couldn’t control her emotions and wanted to meet that person on the spot.

Feng Mingyue shook her head. “No, I’m just…just have a feeling of familiarity.”

Li Qin frowned. “How can this be possible?”

Mei Hui nodded and said honestly, “You once met him at the crown prince’s birthday but the two of you are strangers.”

Li Qiu also added, “At that time, you didn’t even dare to look at the Duke of Xing, you seemed to be very afraid of him.”

Feng Mingyue listened to her personal maids’ opinions one after another and didn’t know how to respond for a while.

Hearing this, Sheng Yi also became interested. “Have you been afraid of the Duke of Xing since then?”

Wei Xue widened his eyes in surprise. “I can’t believe it.”

Xu Baiming echoed with everyone calmly. “Your personality appears not to be afraid of anything. Yet, you actually afraid of the Duke of Xing”

Feng Mingyue couldn’t bear to listen anymore, hence she hurriedly said, “No! That’s my acting! Now I’m not going to act anymore when facing this husband-to-be!”

“Yes, yes, we believe in you, Master.” Everyone nodded, seemingly didn’t believe her at all.

Feng Mingyue was too lazy to explain more. Therefore, she smiled, winking at them, and said meaningfully, “You will know when I meet him.”

Everyone suddenly had a hunch that their master would, without a doubt, do something shocking when meeting the Duke of Xing.

Hence, they hoped the Duke of Xing could withstand their master’s attack at that time.

Inside the garden of the Dark Palace, many flowers were blooming beautifully, such as chrysanthemum, iris, magnolia, cactus, and especially pink carnation which could be seen almost everywhere, not only in the garden. At the entrance of the garden, Long Huyan, and Fu Hanji walked in with another young man, who seemed to have a very lively personality. This person was the tenth son of the previous emperor, Long Changlei, and he was also Long Huayan’s only blood-related younger brother.

The three people went into the gazebo and sat around the marble table. Long Changlei couldn’t help turning to ask his big brother curiously, “Ninth Brother, what on earth is the fifth brother trying to do? He wants to control you?”

Long Huayan poured the tea into the teacup expressionlessly without saying anything.

Long Changlei didn’t care at all, he continued to ponder by himself. “That’s more likely, or is he afraid that you will seize his throne?”

Fu Hanji heard this, hurriedly lifted his head from looking at the medical book, and whispered to remind the young man, “Be careful with what you say.”

Long Changlei was stunned. “Ah? This is the ninth brother’s territory, it should be okay?”

Fu Hanji closed the book and sighed. “It’s okay if you say it in here but if it’s in the Duke of Xing manor, I’m afraid that your words and deeds might have already been into the emperor’s ears.”

Long Changlei leaned against the white pillar with an indifferent expression. “What will he do? Beheaded me?”

Fu Hanji was powerless. “Xiao Lei.”

Long Changlei didn’t care about Fu Hanji’s warning at all. “Brother Fu, you don’t have to worry, fifth brother can’t beat me.”

Fu Hanji shook his head helplessly, he knew this person well. Even though Long Changlei had a cheerful personality, this guy was no different from his big brother, Long Huayan. Long Changlei had never been afraid of anything, he always liked to do something challenging which was tantamount to seeking death.

Long Huayan, who had been silent for a long while, finally opened his mouth. “Xiao Lei, you will be attending Concubine Xu’s funeral day tomorrow.”

It took a few seconds for Long Changlei to understand what his big brother said. “No, wait, brother, why are we suddenly…”

Long Huayan didn’t wait for the other party to finish, and immediately said, “They sent us an invitation.”

Long Changlei fell into deep thinking again. Then he couldn’t help asking with some uncertainty, “Are they trying to curry favor from us?”

Fu Hanji also thought about this matter. “It doesn’t seem like it. The Feng Family has alway been on the emperor’s side. What’s more, I heard that the second young miss of the Feng Family doesn’t have a good relationship with her father.”

Long Huayan took a sip of tea indifferently. “They just want to give us some face. Even if they aren’t on our side, offending us is not a good way for them.”

Fu Hanji frowned. “Since the Feng Family is on the emperor’s side, that means they also support the crown prince. So will that second young miss of the Feng Family support the crown prince as well?”

Long Changlei stroked his chin and suddenly felt things were getting more and more interesting. “Eh, how old is she?”

Fu Hanji pondered for a while and said what he heard from others. “Seems to be 17 years old this year.”

Long Changlei suddenly smacked the table excitedly. “She’s only one year younger than the crown prince. Is it possible that she is also one of the crown prince’s women?” The more he thought of it, the more he felt that his guess was right, thus he became worried, “Brother, how are you going to deal with her?”

Long Huayan picked the pink carnation and pinched it lightly. “Let’s wait.”

The people who heard this were dumbfounded. In their hearts, Long Huayan had always been prepared before doing something, yet now, he was going to marry the good for nothing second young miss of the Feng Family, which they had suspected was the crown prince’s woman.

If their guess was right, Long Huayan should have the way to deal with her, but now the other party didn’t seem to have any intention to get rid of this second young miss of the Feng Family. Seeing that Long Huayan was silent again, Fu Hanji and Long Changlei could only look at each other quietly before starting to do their things.

In fact, these people didn’t know at all that the name Feng Mingyue had already shaken Long Huayan’s stone heart, it was as if he had a really deep connection with that person.

“Xiao Yue…” Long Huayan murmured dazedly that even the other two didn’t notice it.
