LM Chapter 83

When they arrived, they saw the nanny was flustered. After asking, it turned out that the little boy had disappeared.

“Such a small child, where can he go? You go downstairs to look.” Qin Yunshan urged the nanny to go downstairs while he walked upstairs to look. He checked the room’s bed and cabinet, as well as the bathroom and balcony. He explored every possible hiding place for the young boy, but he couldn’t find him. Since there was no one in the room, Qin Yunshan went outside to search for him somewhere, and along the corridor, he discovered a large swimming pool.

Qin Yunshan was taken aback when he first saw the large swimming pool; how could a swimming pool transform into a fish tank? Why didn’t he realize his grandson enjoys raising fish so much? Then he felt anxiety in his chest; surely his little adorable great-grandson would not have climbed here and fallen into the swimming pool?

As soon as he had thought of this, he perceived the aquatic plants beside the rockery shaking violently, as if something was about to come out, with a blast, his beloved little great-grandson he was thinking of burst out of the water.

The child actually fell into the pool! Qin Yunshan was terrified, and was about to rush forward to rescue the little boy, when he suddenly noticed something strange: in the crystal clear pool, his little great-grandson’s two short legs were gone, instead was replaced by a fat fish tail, splashing in the water.

Where’s the leg? Where’s his little great-grandson’s leg! Qin Yunshan’s face turned pale in shock, while the little boy grinned at him, and suddenly reached out his hand to grab the fish hiding in the water grass, opened his small mouth, and was about to feed the lively fish into his mouth.

Qin Yunshan took a stride forward before collapsing to the ground with a “thud” and passing out, as if struck by lightning.

Qin Shen received a call from the nanny on the way back after picking up Jiang Yu, notifying him that the little boy disappeared.

They requested the nanny to look for him some more, as they hurried home. Jiang Yu suddenly thought of something, and nervously said, “Naonao wouldn’t have climbed into the swimming pool by himself, would he?”

The little cub is now crawling cleanly quickly on the ground. Once, Jiang Yu placed him on the deck chair beside the swimming pool, as he returned to the room to retrieve his belongings, and the little one slid from the deck chair to the ground and then into the water in less than a minute.

Qin Shen’s heart tightened as he heard what Jiang Yu said; the nanny is at home, and it would be bad if the nanny saw it. He stepped on the gas and increased the speed of the vehicle.

The two rushed back in a hurry. The nanny had searched the first floor. She was already sweating profusely when she saw them come back and said, “Sir, I searched the entire first floor, but there is no young master in sight. Old Mr. Qin came just now. He is looking for the little master on the second floor.”

Grandpa is here? Both Qin Shen and Jiang Yu were startled. Before they could go upstairs, they heard a “boom” and the sound of a heavy object falling from upstairs.

Qin Yunshan opened his eyes, Qin Shen handed him water, he took two sips then saw the little cub in Jiang Yu’s arms, white and tender, his little arms and legs were there, he breathed a sigh of relief and said, “Ah Shen, Xiao Yu ah, grandpa just had a hallucination. I saw Naonao’s legs gone, it turned into a fishtail, he also grabbed a live fish and fed it into his mouth. Ah Shen, you take Grandpa to the hospital to see if there is something wrong with Grandpa’s head again.”

Being naughty again, Jiang Yu pinched the little boy’s buttocks. The little cub didn’t eat live fish, he was obviously trying to scare Qin Yunshan for fun.

The little cub wiggled his little butt, hugged Jiang Yu’s neck and flattened the corners of his mouth.

“…Grandpa.” Qin Shen coughed lightly, before looking towards Jiang Yu. When he saw him nod, he continued, “What you saw just now was not a hallucination.”

He had always wanted to tell Qin Yunshan about Jiang Yu and Jiang Naonao, but he never found the appropriate moment. Since Qin Yunshan saw Naonao’s little tail this time, he simply took the opportunity to say it.

Qin Yunshan was dumbfounded, seeing that Qin Shen’s expression didn’t look like he was joking, while Jiang Naonao blinked his big eyes, with an innocent look on his face, his head was a little dizzy again.

“Ask Grandpa to go to the bathroom.” Jiang Yu whispered to Qin Shen, before he carried Jiang Naonao into the bathroom first.

Qin Shen helped Qin Yunshan to go to the bathroom, all the while, Jiang Yu had already taken off the little cub’s clothes and trousers, when he saw the two coming in, he bent down and put the little cub into the bathtub.

Qin Yunshan watched as the little boy’s short legs transformed into a small fishtail. The little boy swam two laps on the water, before sinking down, then emerged gurgling, and spitting several water bubbles at him.

Qin Yunshan wobbled and was about to faint again, but Qin Shen helped him in time.

“What… what’s going on?” His fingers trembled as he stared in disbelief at the little boy in the bathtub.

Qin Shen helped him back to the bed and explained to him that the baby was a mermaid.

“…Mermaid?” Qin Yunshan was shocked and dazed. He subconsciously felt that his grandson was joking, but the little fishtail he saw just now couldn’t be faked.

“Where’s Naonao’s mother? Back in the sea?” he wondered as he remembered the little boy’s mother. It’s no surprise that his grandson never revealed the identity of the baby’s mother. It seems that she went back to the sea for some reason after giving birth.

Jiang Yu bit his lip, a little timid, Qin Shen clasped his hand, coughed softly and said to Qin Yunshan, “Naonao has no mother, he only has two fathers, me and Jiang Yu.”

It took Qin Yunshan a long time to comprehend the meaning of his grandson’s words, and felt dizzy all over again. Even if there are mermaids in this world, how…how can a man give birth?

Suddenly learning of such two shocking news, Qin Yunshan couldn’t digest it for a while, so Qin Shen sent him back to his residence.

When Qin Yunshan awoke in the morning, he was still a little overwhelmed by all that had happened the day before. When he went to the window, he saw Qin Shen on the yard outside, feeding apples to the deer that were walking on the grass.

When Xiangbo knocked on the door and entered, Qin Yunshan asked, “Ah Shen didn’t go back last night?”

“No.” Xiang Bo paused and asked, “What happened yesterday? You didn’t look really well when the young master sent you back.”

“…It’s okay.” Qin Yunshan hesitated to reply, but eventually sighed, waved his hands, turned around, left the room, and went downstairs.

Outside in the courtyard, Qin Shen was feeding the fawn while on the phone with Jiang Yu.

Jiang Yu asked over the phone, “How is Grandpa?”

Qin Shen stroked the antlers of the deer and said, “I slept early last night, and he still isn’t up yet. I don’t think he’ll be able to easily get over it for a while.”

“Then stay there with Grandpa. Grandpa is getting older and suddenly he is stimulated by such a big thing…” Jiang Yu regretted it a little when he remembered it. He shouldn’t have told the whole story on impulse yesterday.

“Sooner or later, we will have to tell Grandpa, now that he knows the truth and won’t think it’s a hallucination, he won’t go outside telling it to others,” Qin Shen said.

“Do you think grandpa will…” Jiang Yu sat against the bed, while Jiang Naonao rolled about hugging his toys next to him. “Will he deny Naonao, and forbid you to be with us again?” he murmured anxiously, biting his lips tightly and gripping the bed sheet with his fingers uneasily.

Qin Shen remained silent for a second on the phone before saying gently but firmly, “No, if he doesn’t recognize Naonao, I won’t let him separate the three of us.”

Qin Yunshan did not mention Jiang Yu and Jiang Naonao for two days in a row, nor did he tell Qin Shen to return. When Qin Shen tries to talk to him, they always get interrupted.

Despite Qin Shen’s assurance, Jiang Yu remained uneasy. On this particular day, he was holding Jiang Naonao in a trance in the garden when the nanny came over and said, “Mr. Xiao Jiang, there is an old gentleman looking for you.”

Jiang Yu turned around and saw an old man with simple clothes and vigorous spirit standing not far behind him.

T/N: Apologies…for another late upload (●π-π) my plan of uploading in bulk rather than weekly failed miserably.

I’ll be posting at least one to two updates per day until I reach a certain chapter. Then we’ll see if I can get this done before the end of the month.
