LM Chapter 85

They really couldn’t stand the two grandpas arguing any longer, so the next day Jiang Yu and Qin Shen each had a serious chat with their respective grandpas. Grandpa Patriarch reluctantly agreed not to force Jiang Yu and Jiang Naonao to go back to the sea, and Qin Yunshan also reluctantly agreed not to argue and live together peacefully.

Finally at peace, Jiang Yu exclaimed enthusiastically, “Grandpa patriarch, you rarely come ashore, I’ll take you to the street for a stroll.”

The patriarch nodded happily and said, “Okay, call Cheng Cheng and Ah Qing as well, let’s all go together.”

Throwing Jiang Naonao to Qin Shen, Jiang Yu took Grandpa Patriarch out. Lu Qing drove the car as the Patriarch sat in the middle of the back seat of the car, while Jiang Yu and Cheng Cheng sat on his sides, chatting with him about the things on the street.

After strolling around till the afternoon, the four of them came back, still wanting more. Jiang Yu poured a cup of tea for several people and asked, “Grandpa patriarch, what’s the matter with you this time?”

“Since the three of you are all here, then I’ll say it.” The patriarch first took a sip of tea and was about to speak when he noticed Qin Shen seated on the sofa next to Jiang Yu with the little cub in his arms. “This is a matter of our clan, other people can’t listen, leave,” he remarked flatly.

Qin Shen quickly stated, “I am a family member.”

“Well, Grandpa Patriarch, he won’t reveal it to others.” Jiang Yu spoke for him, nodding vigorously.

Qin Shen discreetly pinched the buttocks of the little cub in his arms after noticing the patriarch’s uneasy countenance. The little cub soon pursed his lips and babbled.

“Look, Naonao also agrees with me being here,” Qin Shen said calmly.

The patriarch cast a compromising glance at the innocent boy and collected his expression.

“I came here this time because there are signs of human activities in the sea area where our tribe lives,” said the patriarch, “I had people inquire about it, and they say that there was a presence of oil detected in that area of the sea and that the humans want to conduct oil extraction there.”

“Then aren’t we going to move again?” Jiang Yu, Lin Cheng, and Lu Qing looked at each other, frowning.

“Have you ever moved before?” Qin Shen inquired.

Jiang Yu nodded, a pained expression on his face. “Well, when I was a child, I moved twice because there were traces of human activity in the sea area where I lived.”

The patriarch sighed, “I don’t remember how many times I have moved. It used to be fine, back when only a few people went to the sea. However, in recent years, human activities at sea have become more and more frequent, which has created a lot of garbage that pollutes the sea, and the living space that is not only for us but also other marine creatures has been affected. I have sent my people out to find a place suitable for living and where no human beings have set foot, but we haven’t found it. “

“I remember you live at the bottom of the deep sea, humans should not be able to reach there,” Qin Shen murmured next to him.

Although humans have achieved significant advances in science and technology, and ocean exploration has never stopped, it is not possible to explore every corner of the ocean.

“Although that’s true, we don’t like to hide in the depths of the sea all the time,” Jiang Yu lamented. It was a place where even sunlight could not reach, and they preferred to swim around in the shallow water, bask in the sun, admire the beautiful corals, and play with schools of fish.

Qin Shen added, “What about coming to the shore to live?”

Considering Jiang Yu and the others. Their people can live comfortably on the shore.

Lin Cheng shook his head and replied, “Not every clansman wants to go ashore, after all, the sea is our home.”

Several people were lost in thought when Qin Yunshan’s voice suddenly rang from behind the sofa. “Then buy a sea area and don’t let outsiders set foot.”

The patriarch was shocked and turned to see Qin Yunshan standing behind the sofa, hands behind his back. “Are you eavesdropping on our conversation?” he questioned angrily, stroking his beard.

“Who was eavesdropping?” Qin Yunshan said, straightening his back and glaring angrily. “I’m standing here openly and honestly, and it’s you who didn’t notice.”

When Qin Shen saw the two about to argue again, he quickly intervened, “Grandpa has a point. Nowadays, many islands and nearby sea areas can be bought and sold privately. If you can find a suitable one to buy, your clan will no longer have to move repeatedly in the future.”

“But where can we find a suitable island?” Lu Qing pondered. Now since there are so many populated islands, it is quite difficult to find an uninhabited island that is suited for them.

Qin Shen’s heart was moved, and he said to Jiang Yu, “How about the uninhabited island that you kidnapped me to before?”

Jiang Yu’s eyes lit up, and he was about to nod his head vigorously when he met Qin Yunshan’s shocked gaze and said naively, “Grandpa…

Qin Shen realized that his grandfather was still there, he coughed and hastily explained for Jiang Yu, “I made a mistake just now, it was the uninhabited island that invited me to play, and I was not tied up.”

 Jiang Yu: …

Qin Yunshan: …Nowadays, children are so good at playing and dating, that they even get tied up on an uninhabited island. He is really old and  has little understanding of the tastes of these young folks.

Lin Cheng slapped his hands and said, “Great idea, that island is really good.” After throwing Gu Yang on the island, he wandered around in the surrounding waters. The seabed environment is clean and comfortable, with no human traces, and is ideal for their people to live in.

“Where is the island? I’ll see if I can buy or sell it,” Qin Shen remarked, then went upstairs to retrieve a laptop, opened a map of the large sea area near the pier, and zoomed in on the uninhabited island. Jiang Yu and Lin Cheng determined the approximate location of the uninhabited island.

Qin Shen searched the Internet again, and all of the islands were placed for private auction on the official website, with prices beside them.

Jiang Yu felt dizzy when he saw the long string of eight zeros after the asking price amount. “Do you have this much money?” he asked Lin Cheng and Lu Qing after swallowing.

Lu Qing and Lin Cheng exchanged looks in dismay. This is hundreds of millions, not just hundreds of thousands or even tens of millions. Where can they obtain so much money?

The patriarch was unfamiliar with the value of human money, so he stroked his beard and inquired, “Does this cost a lot of money?”

Lin Cheng nodded, stretched out his hand, and gestured, “It costs an astronomical amount. If I don’t eat or drink and am able to stay in the entertainment industry for ten or twenty years while maintaining my popularity, then I guess I can earn this much.”

‘So much ah.’ The patriarch was a bit depressed, he knew that Lin Cheng was doing very profitable work on the shore but didn’t expect to earn that sum in a dozen or two decades. He can’t wait for so long.

Lu Qing pursed his lips in embarrassment. Although he was managing the Pei family, he couldn’t get much money at the moment.

Qin Shen set down the laptop and said, “I can help you buy it.” Glancing at Qin Yunshan, worried that his grandfather would disagree, he added, “In my personal name.”

Jiang Yu’s eyes widened in surprise. This is not a little sum of money for anyone, and he was willing to help them purchase it without hesitation.

Lin Cheng and Lu Qing both looked at Qin Shen with surprise, not expecting him to be so generous.

Qin Yunshan didn’t object but gave Qin Shen an appreciative glance. He’s a fine man, good enough for his daughter-in-law, and he has a youthful demeanor.

“No,” the patriarch said sternly, slamming his palms on the table, “we can’t just ask for your money casually, this is our own business, we’ll get this money together ourselves.”

Qin Shen opened his mouth, but the patriarch abruptly raised his hand to stop him and said solemnly, “No matter how much money you have, it’s your own. You are willing to buy the island just for Xiao Yu’er, and I am happy for him. But this matter isn’t just Xiao Yu’er business alone, but a matter concerning our entire clan. Needless to say, we will figure out a way by ourselves.”

Jiang Yu and the others couldn’t say anything because the patriarch disagreed, so they had to think of another solution.

After hearing that pearls are extremely valuable, the patriarch swiftly devised a solution and decided to go back to the sea and let the clansmen cry and shed some more tears. The collected pearls will be brought up for sale.

Qin Yunshan returned to the old mansion after seeing the patriarch depart. Finally, the home was utterly silent. Qin Shen prodded Jiang Yu’s face with his finger, asked curiously, “Can your tears really turn into pearls? Come and cry for me.”

Jiang Yu stared at him with unblinking eyes as his eyes slowly reddened. Qin Shen was a little bit flustered, although he wanted to see how the tears turned into pearls, but now there was a feeling that he had bullied him too much. He was about to make amends and coax him when he saw a teardrop fall from the corner of Jiang Yu’s eye. The crystal-clear teardrop turned into a spherical pearl mid-air before falling on the bed.

Even though he was prepared in his heart, he was still taken aback for a second. He lowered his head, picked up the pearl on the bed, and examined it. It was pink and glossy and looked familiar. Suddenly, he remembered his belongings that had mysteriously vanished previously, and in their stead were pearls that looked exactly like this. Later, because of Jiang Yu’s sudden disappearance, he became preoccupied with finding him, forgot about it, and never thought about it again.

The pearl danced around his fingertips as he spoke, “Little liar.” Qin Shen clinched his teeth as he put out his hand to grasp Jiang Yu’s chin. “It was obviously you who stole my tie and cigarette case and left a pearl behind. You still won’t admit it even after you’ve been caught.”

Jiang Yu’s eyes widened in surprise.

Qin Shen’s heart raced when he saw his surprised expression. “Did you already like me back then? Did you try to get my attention in this way? But you still won’t admit that you were playing hard to get?” he laughed.

“That’s right,” Jiang Yu mused, gripping his arm as his eyes lit up. Qin Shen was astonished that he admitted it so easily. Jiang Yu jumped up from the bed and eagerly said, “Let’s go somewhere quickly.”

Qin Shen acted as his driver and drove him to his house near the company. They entered the elevator, went upstairs, and after opening the door, Jiang Yu ran into Qin Shen’s room, buried half of his body in the wardrobe, and pulled out a glass jar filled with pearls.

Qin Shen was shocked. How could such a jar exist in his room? Looking at Jiang Yu, who was in high spirits, he squinted his eyes, came closer, and took the jar from Jiang Yu’s hand with one hand, supported the wardrobe with the other, and slowly said, “Explain?”

Jiang Yu pursed his lips embarrassedly and explained why he took his things, then turned his head to show him the small red mole that reappeared on the back of his neck after he gave birth to Naonao.

Rubbing his fingers on the little red mole, Qin Shen couldn’t come back to his senses when he thought of Jiang Yu being alone and uncomfortable while he was pregnant with a child. He wasn’t by his side, which left him with a bad taste in his mouth.

He instantly reached out and hugged Jiang Yu, tightly clutching the back of Jiang Yu’s head in his arms.

“Mm-hmm…” Jiang Yu was practically out of breath, his face buried in his chest. He finally raised his head, flushed, and asked fiercely, “What are you doing?”

“In the future, when you have fish eggs, I will stay by your side every step of the way,” Qin Shen said, rubbing his hair.

There is already a Jiang Naonao, but you still want another? Jiang Yu bent down and tried to escape out of his arm, but was restrained by his waist, and then they walked to the bed and said, “Let’s give Naonao a younger brother.”

“I have to go back and cry to make pearls for money,”Jiang Yu muttered, not willing to waste time as he grasped the jar.

He has already chosen a few tearjerker movies and has mentally prepared himself to cry a lot. Nothing is more vital right now than raising funds to purchase the island.

“I’ll make you cry later,” Qin Shen said as he pushed Jiang Yu onto the bed, leaned over and pressed up against him, whispering obscene words in his ear, making Jiang Yu flush.

With no grandfathers and the little boy to disturb them, Qin Shen was in high spirits and was ready to rock the boat, wiping away the depression that had built up over the previous two days. He tried his best to make him cry during the foreplay, but he accidentally overdid it and made him cry too much, so the bed was covered in pearls.

The time and location are appropriate, he is with the right person, and the crucial moment is just a step away, but he can’t move because he is engulfed in panic.
