MMJWQC Chapter 4

Suspected

— Are they playing an immersive horror room game?

— Didn’t Ding Zhaozhao mention it when he entered? It was a normal livestream until all the lights went out.

— Oh my God, the horror atmosphere is here! They’re about to open the door!

— Is Jiang Qiao playing a horror character?

— So exciting! Open the door, let me see!

The relaxed and cheerful atmosphere in the livestream chat was completely different from the atmosphere in the training room.

The trainee who held the doorknob twisted it forcefully, and the door opened with a creak.

“Ah!”

What appeared in front of them was not Jiang Qiao’s usual arrogant face, but something rather eerie. His eyes were entirely black, no trace of white was visible.

The trainees inside immediately tried to close the door, but Jiang Qiao, who was known for not even lifting a box in the past, somehow found the strength and courage to insert his arm between the door and the frame, forcibly blocking the door!

“Damn! Jiang Qiao, what’s with that makeup? You scared the hell out of us!” The trainee who opened the door was terrified and took several steps back.

The other trainees were startled by his reckless act, and they all felt sorry for him.

“Jiang Qiao, doesn’t your hand hurt?” Alan asked, preparing to approach and check his hand, but someone stopped him.

It was Chu Ruochun who stopped him. “Don’t go over there, step back.”

The indoor lighting wasn’t very clear, and without getting close, they couldn’t see Jiang Qiao’s current appearance clearly. However, Chu Ruochun could see the continuous stream of black energy emanating from him.

While everyone was still concerned about whether Jiang Qiao’s arm was okay, he suddenly raised both arms and grabbed the shoulder of the trainee closest to him.

“Ahh! Jiang Qiao, what are you doing? Let go!” The trainee’s shoulder felt like it was being crushed.

“Everyone step back; he’s not normal anymore,” Chu Ruochun’s voice remained calm.

The other trainees’ minds were not functioning properly, but they obeyed and moved backward, creating an empty space in front of them.

At this moment, Ding Zhaozhao somehow managed to hold onto the livestream device steadily.

The trainee tightly held by Jiang Qiao was screaming in agony. Jiang Qiao’s fingers seemed to be crushing his bones.

He tried to resist, but it was futile. Others wanted to help, but when they saw Jiang Qiao in this state, Chu Ruochun warned them not to approach.

However, He Jun didn’t listen. He rushed forward to pull Jiang Qiao away, but the current Jiang Qiao seemed to possess boundless strength, and he used one hand to grasp He Jun.

Seeing this, the others didn’t step back either; they were preparing to help, but they couldn’t understand the situation.

Sharp nails pierced into the trainee’s shoulder, drawing blood!

“Let go of me! Jiang Qiao, have you gone insane?” The trainee kicked Jiang Qiao hard, but he showed no reaction and remained motionless!

At this point, Jiang Qiao was staring at He Jun, tilting his head back, ready to bite his neck.

The other trainees who rushed forward couldn’t pry open Jiang Qiao’s fingers.

“Damn it, Jiang Qiao, do you have rabies or something? Let go!”

Just as Jiang Qiao was about to bite He Jun, a hand formed into a Daoist gesture pointed at the center of his forehead. Jiang Qiao stopped moving and froze in place!

With the help of the other trainees who were struggling, He Jun managed to free himself from Jiang Qiao’s stiff fingers. He was almost suffocated by the tight grip, and another trainee was holding his bleeding shoulder, howling in pain.

The others finally understood; this wasn’t a game or an exercise. They were facing something strange!

Alan began to stammer as he spoke. He had seen Chu Ruochun use his finger to touch Jiang Qiao’s forehead, and Jiang Qiao had stopped moving.

However, the question remained: what was the principle behind this? And why had Jiang Qiao turned into this?

He voiced the doubts that everyone had in their hearts, subconsciously treating the previously calm Chu Ruochun as their guiding pillar. “What’s going on? What’s wrong with Jiang Qiao?”

It was definitely not a prank; everyone’s shoulders were bleeding.

The others all turned their gaze towards Chu Ruochun, and Ding Zhaozhao’s camera faithfully shifted to focus on Chu Ruochun.

Chu Ruochun didn’t offer much explanation. Instead, he waved for them all to step back, and he stood face-to-face with the immobilized Jiang Qiao. He asked, “Who are you?”

Jiang Qiao’s eyes rolled around, but he didn’t utter a word.

Chu Ruochun raised his hand, beginning to form the Ghost-Sealing Palm technique. “If I strike you, your soul might scatter.”

From Jiang Qiao’s throat came a hoarse sound, and no one could decipher what he was saying. He tugged at his stiff lips, revealing an eerie smile.

Chu Ruochun’s palm struck Jiang Qiao’s chest, and at the same time, a strand of black gas escaped from Jiang Qiao’s body, rushing out of the training room through the door.

Jiang Qiao, no longer under the control of the dark energy, slumped to the floor!

Chu Ruochun didn’t pursue the escaping black gas. Instead, he crouched down and checked Jiang Qiao’s nose.

The vital energy had been completely drained, and he was lifeless.

The trainees still hadn’t grasped the severity of the situation. “Is Jiang Qiao okay?”

Chu Ruochun stated plainly, “He’s dead.”

The trainees, who had been sheltered in their ivory tower since childhood, were left in stunned silence.

Alan, his voice trembling, asked, “D-dead?”

The training room fell into an eerie silence, and Chu Ruochun didn’t give them time to reshape their worldviews. “Hmm, I suggest you call an ambulance and the police.”

Someone suddenly realized, “It can’t be! How could Jiang Qiao be dead? Chu Ruochun, don’t scare us!”

Chu Ruochun didn’t argue with them. He just watched as a pale-faced He Jun extended his trembling fingers to check Jiang Qiao’s nose, confirming the absence of breath.

He Jun refused to believe it. He bent down and listened for a heartbeat at Jiang Qiao’s chest. There was no heartbeat!

He was so scared that he collapsed on the floor, muttering to himself, “It can’t be real, Jiang Qiao was just with me a moment ago, how could he suddenly stop breathing?”

Others began frantically searching for their phones to call for help, but all their phones had no signal.

“But he was acting strange just now, so strong!” The practice student who had just been grabbed by the shoulders spoke, tears streaming down his face.

“What do we do? We can’t call for help!”

At this moment, everyone except Chu Ruochun turned to look at Ding Zhaozhao.

“The live stream! Zhaozhao, quickly ask our fans to call for help!”

Ding Zhaozhao, more composed than before, turned to the live stream for help. “Everyone, please help us call for help!”

As soon as he said that, the live stream connection abruptly cut off, and the screen froze with the previous comments. The viewer count in the upper right corner turned into a “0.”

Ding Zhaozhao said, “There’s no internet.”

Alan, still relatively calm, said, “Not only is there no internet, there’s no signal either.” Fortunately, he had some knowledge, “We can’t call 110 without a signal, but we can try 120!”

However, even 120 didn’t get a response.

“What should we do? Is Jiang Qiao really, really gone? I don’t believe it.”

One of the practice students broke down in tears.

The current group of practice students were very young, mostly just coming of age, and hadn’t experienced much of life’s trials and responsibilities. Suddenly facing someone’s death was an enormous shock.

Alan, being the oldest among them, tried to maintain composure. “Don’t cry. Maybe it’s just an accident. Let’s stay together and not split up.”

A distraught practice student shouted, “How can it be just an accident? A few seconds ago, he was alive, and the next second he fell in front of us!”

“No, it was Chu Ruochun who slapped him, and then he collapsed. Chu Ruochun, what did you do to Jiang Qiao?” He Jun still refused to believe that Jiang Qiao was dead and placed the blame on Chu Ruochun.

Chu Ruochun didn’t want to engage with him further. Instead, he walked to the window to check the weather outside. It was still gloomy, with the rain continuing to fall.

Having just come back to life, Chu Ruochun hadn’t fully adapted to the changes in his body. The amount of spiritual power he could mobilize was too limited. In the past, dealing with such minor tricks would have taken just a moment.

“It’s not safe outside. Everyone, stay in the training room for now,” Chu Ruochun said.

“Don’t change the subject. What did you do to Jiang Qiao just now?” He Jun continued to accuse Chu Ruochun, charging forward as if he could grab Chu Ruochun’s collar, thinking he could still bully him as he used to.

But the current Chu Ruochun wasn’t the same pushover who allowed himself to be bullied without resistance. He directly grabbed He Jun’s wrist.

“Jiang Qiao had his life force sucked out by a vengeful spirit and died. If you don’t believe me, you can take off his clothes and check the color of his skin. When a human’s life force is sucked out by a vengeful spirit, their skin turns gray and lifeless,” Chu Ruochun spoke clearly, but to the other practice students, it seemed like something from another world.

“If a person dies normally, their body doesn’t immediately stiffen like this, but someone who has had their life force sucked out by a vengeful spirit looks like they’ve been dead for days.” To dispel their doubts in the shortest time possible, he tore open Jiang Qiao’s clothes.

“If anyone has a phone, you can turn on the flashlight and shine it on him.”

Alan chose to believe Chu Ruochun and directly turned on the flashlight to shine on Jiang Qiao.

Jiang Qiao, who showed off his six-pack abs to the camera two days ago, now has skin as dry as an 80-year-old man.

The trainees were all scared!

Chu Ruochun was very satisfied with the way they were scared but had to be quiet now, and he could do what he wanted to do next.

“Whoever has a pen can lend me a pen, preferably a red one.”

Alan immediately said: “I have it in my bag.”

Chu Ruochun got a red marker from Alan and drew a formation in the middle of the training room.

The practice students who were afraid of Jiang Qiao’s corpse moved closer to him, including He Jun, who was still somewhat dazed from the fright.

Breaking the silence, Alan asked, “What is this?”

“It’s a protective formation for you all. You’ve seen Jiang Qiao’s miserable state, but we don’t know if others have suffered the same fate. I believe that vengeful spirit will come back,” Chu Ruochun finished the last stroke, then looked up at them. With a chilling tone, he said the scariest words possible, “It will come back to suck the life force from us.”

Upon hearing this, the practice students trembled slightly. Chu Ruochun’s earlier demonstration with Jiang Qiao’s skin had already convinced most of them, and they didn’t dare to act recklessly now.

Ding Zhaozhao asked him, “What should we do?”

Chu Ruochun said, “Everyone should go inside the formation. No matter what you see or hear, do not make a sound, and do not step outside, or you will bear the consequences.”

The practice students hurriedly entered the formation.

Outside, the strong wind continued to howl, and the dancing tree branches resembled the fingers of ghosts, sending chills down their spines with just a glance.

It was too terrifying!

The practice students clung to this lifeline and all entered the formation, except for Ding Zhaozhao. He stood outside the formation with his broadcasting device and asked Chu Ruochun, “How long do we have to stay inside the formation?”

Chu Ruochun ignored his question and instead, with his unimpressive eyes, asked, “Aren’t you coming inside?”

Ding Zhaozhao’s face stiffened for a moment.

Other practice students also urged him to come in quickly, “Zhaozhao, come in fast!”

Ding Zhaozhao didn’t step forward but instead took two steps back.

Chu Ruochun formed the Eight Trigram gesture and an invisible aura of dispelling evil shot straight towards Ding Zhaozhao’s face. Ding Zhaozhao fell to the ground as if he had been kicked, unconscious. Everyone else could see that Chu Ruochun hadn’t actually touched him!

What’s going on?

A black mist was about to escape from the crack in the door when Chu Ruochun lifted his foot and stepped on it. He formed hand seals and swiftly dispersed the black mist, purifying it!

Chu Ruochun said, “Carry Ding Zhaozhao into the formation. He just got possessed.”

Everyone still looked puzzled, but only Alan reacted quickly. He pulled the other practice students and brought Ding Zhaozhao into the formation.

Next, everyone, including Chu Ruochun, remained inside the formation, not daring to venture outside.

One dead and one injured in the training room was truly terrifying!

During the wait, Ding Zhaozhao gradually woke up, asking, “What happened to me?”

Everyone looked at Chu Ruochun, wondering how to explain this to Ding Zhaozhao.

Suddenly, a bright light flooded the room, blindingly intense. However, the practice students didn’t complain. Instead, their eyes filled with tears of excitement.

“It’s back!”

“We finally have a signal!”

“It’s back, we’re safe!”

The eerie atmosphere from just a moment ago dissipated in an instant.

Someone ran to the window and exclaimed, “It didn’t rain outside at all!”

The live stream in the broadcasting room suddenly resumed.

Chu Ruochun quietly stepped aside, concealing his presence.

The door to the training room was pushed open, and staff members led police and paramedics inside.

The paramedics approached to check on Jiang Qiao’s condition and, after confirming his death, shook their heads at the police. Subsequently, the police surrounded all the practice students and ordered, “Stay in your positions and don’t move!”

The practice students: “…”

The police won’t suspect them of murder, right?
