TPLTP Chapter 2.1

“What’s wrong?” Gu’s mother followed his gaze and asked in confusion.”I seem to have seen a little black cat at the staircase.” Shen Suian particularly likes furry animals and dreams of having a pet of his own.

In the previous life, he didn’t have the chance to fulfill this dream and ended up with nothing. In this life, his identity is awkward – his biological father is distant, and his stepmother acts as the housekeeper. It is no different from living under someone else’s roof, and he dares not cause trouble.

“That’s not a cat; it’s the child we adopted, a little black panther.” Speaking of this, Gu’s mother wore a worried expression. “Besides it, we also have a panda cub and a little fox, all war orphans. They are timid and rarely leave their rooms.”

Originally, bringing these cubs over was intended to give them a better life, but she and her husband were busy with work, and she didn’t know how to interact with the cubs. So, she had to temporarily entrust their care to the old housekeeper.

Shen Suian’s eyes gradually lit up. It was fine with the little black panther and the fox, but there’s also a panda cub!

That’s a national treasure!

Never did he expect to have the chance to get up close with a national treasure in his lifetime. Shen Suian’s heart raced, and his determination to stay in the Gu family grew stronger. 

He forced himself to remain calm, but the tip of his shoe subtly turned towards the staircase. “So, that’s how it is.”

After making up his mind, Shen Sui’an was too lazy to be polite and went straight to the point, “I’ll go back to pack my things now. Can I move in later?”

“Eh?” Gu’s mother was confused. Weren’t they just discussing it? How did they suddenly jump to this? In the expectant gaze of Shen Suian, she finally nodded in agreement.

“Well then, I’ll take my leave.” After saying that, Shen Suian immediately stood up, and even his departing figure exuded a strong sense of joy.

“Why do I feel like this child prefers those cubs more than Beimo?” Gu’s mother looked at Gu’s father with a somewhat confused expression.

Shen Suian’s attitude clearly became more urgent after knowing about the three cubs in the Gu family. Gu’s father’s expression softened. He held his wife’s hand and comforted her, “Isn’t this good? If we let the child cling to Beimo all the time, it might become overwhelming for both of them. Having the cubs around might bring some joy.”

“True.” After thinking it over, Gu’s mother found her husband’s words reasonable, and her heart finally settled. 

“I’ll go tidy up the room, so the child won’t have nowhere to stay!” Seeing his wife brushing away her worries and willing to get things done, Gu’s father’s fondness for Shen Suian deepened. 

He looked at the old housekeeper, “Please take good care of that child. If he has any requests, try to fulfill them. If there are difficulties, I’ll think of a solution.”

The old housekeeper nodded with a smile. He had a premonition that Shen Suian’s arrival would indeed bring positive changes to the Gu family.

Shen Suian has a clear and sincere gaze, a gentle personality, and comes from a good family background. When talking about matters related to Gu Beimo, his admiration and concern seem genuine. His affection for the cubs doesn’t appear to be an act either. In the future, their interactions are likely to be quite easygoing. 

He isn’t worried that Shen Suian might have ulterior motives for entering the Gu family. After all, with the social status of the Shen family, Shen Suian could have whatever he wants without tying himself to the Gu family.

Now the challenge is how to make him willingly stay? despite the worries.

It took half an hour to get to the Gu family, but the return trip only took fifteen minutes. If not for the concern about speeding, it could have been even faster.

Shen Suian quickly packed his belongings, bringing a few sets of clean clothes and daily essentials. Eager to leave the luxurious prison of the Shen family, he couldn’t wait to leave.

As he was heading downstairs, he bumped into his half-brother, Shen Yaochen. Seeing the suitcase in Shen Suian’s hand, he was particularly surprised. “Where are you going?”

Shen Suian didn’t expect Shen Yaochen to initiate a conversation with him. “Gu’s family. What’s up?”

“Do you really intend to go?” Shen Yaochen’s face tensed, and the hand at his side involuntarily clenched.

“Yeah.” Thinking about the three cubs in the Gu family, Shen Suian’s smile deepened. He nodded at Shen Yaochen. “If there’s nothing else, I’ll leave first.”

After saying that, he pulled his suitcase and left directly. Shen Yaochen looked at his back with an incomprehensible expression.
