PMBPHP Chapter 79

Incident (Gresis’s Perspective)

The meeting started at one o’clock in the afternoon.
There is only one purpose. When everyone will be returning home.

“You guys, it will take a while, so wake me up when the results come out.”
As soon as the meeting started, Curtance closed his eyes and entered rest mode.

I want everyone to return home, and Harence wants to have the healers Lilith and Crane stay until the insanity disease is completely over.
The discussion was on a parallel line.

“”Hah.””
It was when we sighed and were silent.

I heard the pew pew pew of a finger whistle.
It’s an emergency signal in our unit.

“What is it?”
Harence looked outside.
“Noisy.”
Curtance opens his eyes lazily.

“It looks like an emergency.”
It’s extremely dangerous that our troops are in an emergency situation in another country.
I heard a knock from the door, and Harence’s escort, who was waiting outside, said.

“The knights of the Kingdom of Tenar have an urgent report for His Royal Highness Gresis.”
“Let them through right away.”

It was Carlsen who entered the room with Harence’s permission.

“When I rushed to the location of the emergency finger whistle, the assistant commander, who was on duty to escort the Princess, and a knight of the Kingdom of Howl, were lying on the ground in the garden. Both of them had arrow wounds, and there was a sword cut wound on the ankle of the knight of the Kingdom of Howl. I think it’s probably due to Agar. I’m looking for Her Royal Highness, but she’s missing so far.”

“You think Lilith is missing?”
I had a bad feeling.

“Hey, it’s not fashionable to have an incident in our royal palace.”
Harence looked up at the sky.

“I can’t believe there is a fool who messed with the princess who received the national flower from me.”
Curtance put his cheek on the table while trying to be lazy.

“Do you have any clues?”
I asked Carlsen a question, but he shook his head.

“There’s nothing I can do with the assistant commander not waking up. Now, everyone is trying to tor-. . . force him to wake up at the first aid station.”

He was going to say torture just now.
Even though it’s for Lilith, our unit is truly merciless to our comrades.

“If it’s Mr. Crane, I can ask him if there’s a better way to do it. I went to the guest room, but it seems that he was called to the prince’s tea party, so he was absent.”
“The prince’s tea party?”

Harence is here, so is it Corini? He seems to like Crane very much.
I thought so, but it seems different.

“That’s right. My brothers seem to be impressed by the dedication of Princess Lilith and Lord Crane, and they were going to invite them to the tea party to show their gratitude. I received a report this morning. I’m sure they’re free at the time of the meeting, so they said they would do it during that time.”

“Brothers?”

“Oh, didn’t you know about it Gresis? It’s the third prince and knight Martis, and the fourth prince and royal palace doctor apprentice Nell. The two usually hide their status in the country and act freely. This time, they were helping with meals.”

Apparently, the two of them have the role of intelligence. I guess there was a purpose other than helping.
It is very likely that we were not trusted yet so they were hiding their identities.

“My brothers are the same as Gresis, and they don’t usually go out of the country, so it’s no wonder you don’t know each other. I know Curtance, Timir and Frair who are coming to our country’s National Foundation Festival.”

“I see. That’s off topic. Harence, can you tell anything by looking at the fallen knight?”

“They will know something.”
“Then let’s go to the first aid station. I have to listen to the awakened knight.”

“Then, in the meantime, let’s search for Princess Lilith from the sky. Just in case.”
“Please, Curtance.”

I separated with Curtance and went to the first aid station with Harence and Carlsen.

In the bed next to each other, Agar and the knight of the Kingdom of Howl are each lying down.
A few of my subordinates are surrounding Agar.

Agar must have been splashed with water. He was soaking wet.
Maybe they thought it was not good to put him on the bed as it is, so he was wrapped with a blanket.

His face swollen from being slapped and has graffiti on it.
The hair, which was not very long, was skillfully braided.

No matter what they did, he didn’t wake up, so it seems that he was played with.
I felt sorry for everyone once Agar wakes up, they would all be killed.

The knight of the Kingdom of Howl was guarded by the second prince, Corini, and several knights.
There was no sign of him being forcibly woken up.

“He’s a facility guard knight. Are you sure that the wound on his ankle is caused by a sword?”

Harence looked at the bandage wrapped around the knight’s ankle and looked at Corini.

“Yes. There is no mistake. By the way, the arrow was stuck in the left side of the waist on the back.”

The knights of the Kingdom of Howl use spears, so the wound becomes a stab wound.
It’s different from the cut of the sword, so it’s obvious if you look at the wound.

I observed Agar.
I was worried about the location of the arrow wound on the right side of his chest.
The arrow is stabbed directly with the hand.
If you don’t get close, you can’t put an arrow in the right side of the chest.

“Did the knights of the Kingdom of Howl usually carry sleeping arrows?”
“No, we don’t usually carry arrows. Especially now, there are no patients, and there is no mission.”

Harence answered my question.
My Knights, because I was infected, still carry two arrows just in case.

It would be reasonable to think that this arrow was what Ager had. The number of two arrows also matches.
However, it’s hard to think that Agar will be robbed of his arrow and get within reach.

The only person who can do that is Lilith, but there’s no way Lilith would do such a thing.
Is it possible that someone threatened him?

Even so, it’s not this knight. There must have been someone else with him.
Even if you think about it, there is little information, and everything is just imagination.

“Wake up quickly, Agar.”
I tried pinching his nose, but he just opened his mouth and didn’t wake up.

“Captain, the Princess’s potpourri had fallen in the garden. It seems that it was delivered to the room. This is the potpourri.”
“Lend it to me.”

Harence took the potpourri brought by his subordinates and brought it closer to his face.

“No way. They’re wearing a perfume that makes my nose less effective, so that I can’t trace who brought it. It’s more and more suspicious. It’s obvious that our country’s people are doing something. Shit.”

“It’s rough, Harence. There is no harvest here either. I couldn’t find her from the sky.”
Curtance came back with his arms crossed.

It’s almost two o’clock.
It has been about 30 minutes since Lilith went missing.

“Ugh. . . Her Royal Highness. . . .”
Agar finally woke up. But he’s soaked, has graffiti on his face, his hair is braided, and he’s in a pretty bad state.

“Even if you guys forget, I won’t forget this.”
My subordinates were trembling because of the murderous intentions of the usually gentle Agar.

Thanks to Agar, our troops will become stronger and stronger.
I felt like that.
We heard from Agar, who dressed quickly.

“Martis has Princess Lilith!?”
Harence was the most surprised by Agar’s story.

“Martis . . . come to think of it, what kind of guy is he?”
Curtance is not interested in those who he considers to be lower than himself.

“So he stabbed Lilith with an arrow, then. . .”

I must be the one who felt the most murderous intention toward Martis.
Even so, Agar is a hinderance to the tea party, so he’ll get rid of him. I don’t understand the meaning.

“After the princess was kidnapped, this knight was ordered to kill me and attacked me. I thought it would be troublesome if he managed to run away after I cut the tendon, so I stabbed him with an arrow where he fell, and when I blew an emergency finger whistle, I seem to have lost consciousness.”

After that, Carlsen, who heard the finger whistle, rushed to the location and found them.
In other words, the knight sleeping next to him is the enemy. This guy will also wake up soon.

“I’ll leave the knight’s interrogation to you. Tie him up.”
“Yes. Leave it to me.”

Our unit is happy.
It would be nice if he had powerful information, but it’s usually disposable. I can’t expect anything.

“He’s a knight of our country. We’ll interrogate him in our country.”
The claim of Harence, the crown prince, is reasonable, but I refused.

“I want to think that it’s a different person, but my subordinate was targeted for his life by a knight who was following the order of a member of the royal family. The knights of the royal palace cannot be trusted. If he has a friend and they let him escape, how will you take responsibility?”

“Then, I, a member of the royal family, will be responsible for interrogating him.”
Corini offered.

“That would be good. If the royal family takes responsibility for itself, I’ll leave it to you. I’ll leave the interrogation to Corini, and my knight will monitor it, is that okay?”

“Yeah. That will help our country save face.”

Harence seems to feel a sense of crisis that the trust of the royal palace is collapsing.
That can’t be helped either. Because a member of the royal family of another country was kidnapped.

In order to find a clue about Lilith’s whereabouts, I asked Agar to guide me and headed to the site of the abduction.

I understand Harence, but it was surprising that Curtance came along with us.
He looks down of others, but he seems to be affectionate towards her.

“Certainly, you won’t be able to see to go in and out of the main residence from here. However, I still can’t trace the smell. I wonder if Martis was seen by anyone, let’s ask questions at the main residence.”

“I didn’t check the interior of the main residence. Next time, I’ll check the room from the window.”

“I’m going to Crane’s room to see if Crane was back in the room or if he was really having tea with Martis.”

We made an appointment to meet at this place again, Harence went to the main residence, Curtance went to the sky again with his subordinates, and I went to Crane’s room.

Before three o’clock, I arrived at Crane’s room next to Lilith’s.

“Your Highness Gresis, Mr. Crane has not returned yet.”

When I was about to knock on the door of the room, Mai, the maid who was passing by, told me.
When he went out, Crane always told one of the maids, Mai or Mei.

“Didn’t Crane tell you where he was going and what time he would be back?”
“He went to the tea party with Prince Nell who came to pick him up. He said he would be back by the end of His Highness’s meeting.”

It matches what Harence said.
The meeting is scheduled to end at three o’clock, so it should be okay to go back now. . .

Don’t tell me something happened to Crane too?
As long as we don’t know the purpose of Maris, it’s not necessarily just Lilith.

“Damn.”

While reflecting that I had missed it, I hurried to the garden where we were meeting.

I wonder what happened to Crane. Is Nell in on it or not. So many questions.

I hope you enjoyed this chapter and thank you for reading!
