TPAE chapter 1.10

Sheng Huasen’s attention was entirely focused on Wei Xicheng from start to finish. This person always brought him endless surprises. Just when you thought you knew him well, he would reveal a side of himself that you had never seen before.

For some reason, Sheng Huasen felt that the young man on the stage, smiling lightly, wasn’t someone he could hold onto. It was as if Wei Xicheng could fly away and leave him at any moment. This thought brought Sheng Huasen a sense of panic, something he had never experienced before.

“Alright, that concludes my presentation.Thank you, everyone.” Wei Xicheng bowed again, earning a round of applause.

He raised his head and threw a quick wink at Sheng Huasen.

That glance brought Sheng Huasen some peace. The sudden thought that had gripped his heart earlier had nearly suffocated him. Sheng Huasen tapped his index finger twice on the table. “The final result will be determined after further discussion with the managers. If you all don’t mind, please move to the lounge that Shengshi has prepared. The results will be announced in about ten minutes.”

Once all the representatives had left, Sheng Huasen took two steps forward, grabbed Wei Xicheng’s hand, and pulled him along, leaving the Shengshi executives exchanging puzzled looks.

In the nearby storage room, Wei Xicheng found himself pinned against the shelves, his lips being bitten by the man who seemed to have lost his mind.

Hiss. It actually hurt a little.

Wei Xicheng couldn’t figure out where things went wrong. He had clearly adjusted his physical strength to the maximum, yet he still couldn’t fight back against this man. Could it be that deep down, he actually wanted to be treated like this? Was he secretly hoping for it?

Wei Xicheng shuddered. Impossible.

Sheng Huasen’s eyes narrowed, a dangerous glint flashing. The boy’s obvious distraction displeased him. He applied more pressure, causing Wei Xicheng’s upper body to lean back while his waist rested against the shelf. As he relaxed, it seemed like Wei Xicheng was voluntarily leaning into Sheng Huasen’s arms.

“Mm-”

Hearing the boy’s soft moan, Sheng Huasen let out a chuckle.

“What the hell is wrong with you now?” Wei Xicheng managed to free one hand from the man’s grip, pressing it against his lower back. If it weren’t for his flexibility, his waist would have broken by now.

Sheng Huasen leaned in, planting soft kisses on the boy’s cheek, his husky voice whispering hotly into Wei Xicheng’s ear. “I missed you so much.”

In the dim, cramped storage room, Wei Xicheng couldn’t clearly make out the expression on Sheng Huasen’s face. He could only feel the heat radiating from the man’s body, and his earlobes felt like they were on fire.

This is way too embarrassing, damn it.

“Ten minutes!” Wei Xicheng still remembered that Sheng Huasen had promised to announce the results in ten minutes. If they kept going like this, even twenty minutes or two hours wouldn’t be enough.

“Let them wait.” Sheng Huasen whispered like a child who had just been given candy, lingering close to his ear. “Such an important investment requires careful consideration.”

Consideration, my ass! Do you look like you’re thinking right now?

Wei Xicheng placed his hand on Sheng Huasen’s head, trying to push him away.

But instead of backing off, the man seemed suddenly provoked. He picked Wei Xicheng up and placed him on the shelf.

In the dimly lit space, Wei Xicheng sat on the shaky shelf, not daring to move. After all, he was a man weighing over a hundred pounds, and being lifted and placed on the shelf like this… If he fell, his butt would probably shatter. Sheng Huasen’s eyes were glowing, and Wei Xicheng was forced to stare into them, muttering under his breath, “Beast.”

“Once we’re done with all this, let’s go to M Country together.”

“Dear,” Wei Xicheng cupped the man’s chin, which had a bit of stubble, his mouth twitching as he spoke in a gentle tone. From the way Sheng Huasen’s eyes curved happily, it was clear he enjoyed being called that. “A vacation is fine, but for anything else, my parents wouldn’t agree.”

Since they had officially gotten together, Wei Xicheng had done his homework. This parallel world was quite similar to modern Earth in terms of culture and background. Based on Sheng Huasen’s slightly suggestive tone, Wei Xicheng knew exactly what he was thinking.

As soon as he said this, Sheng Huasen’s previously smiling eyes quickly returned to their usual calm expression. Wei Xicheng sighed inwardly—what a quick change in attitude.

“I’ll figure something out. Don’t worry about it.”

“Mm.” Wei Xicheng nodded and, after thinking for a moment, lifted Sheng Huasen’s chin and gave him a light bite. “Let’s head out quickly.”

Sheng Huasen nodded, intending to help Wei Xicheng down, but got punched instead.

“You think I’m a woman?” Wei Xicheng blocked Sheng Huasen’s outstretched hand, sliding off the shelf on his own. His suddenly returned masculine demeanor made the earlier tenderness seem as if it had never happened.

“You’re just you.”

Wei Xicheng froze when he heard this, momentarily forgetting to straighten his clothes.

Yeah.

He responded in his heart, “I am just me, the person you’re seeing now. Even though I don’t know how long you’ll stay by my side, I’ll cherish this time while it lasts.”

The two left the storage room, and in the shadows behind Wei Xicheng, a figure flickered briefly. Sheng Huasen glanced deeply at it, then looked away without mentioning it to Wei Xicheng.

Wei Xicheng calmly returned to the conference room, where the other representatives entered one after another. He glanced around. Apart from Qi Yilin, everyone was present, and no one had left early.

It seemed that everyone was extremely enthusiastic about this bidding project. Even if the chances of winning were slim, they still wanted to hear the results in person and leave a good impression on Shengshi for future cooperation.

Sheng Huasen sat at the head of the table, took the document handed to him by his assistant, and glanced at it with a smile.

Seeing that expression, Wei Xicheng finally felt a sense of relief. Although he was confident in his bidding proposal, that bastard hadn’t participated in Shengshi’s management discussions earlier!

“The partner Shengshi has chosen for this project is…”

“Sorry, I’m late.” Qi Yilin appeared at the door, slightly out of breath but smiling. “I wandered around for a bit and didn’t realize how far I’d gone.”

“Zhu Corporation.” Sheng Huasen didn’t respond to Qi Yilin’s words and instead continued where he had been interrupted, standing up and extending his hand to Wei Xicheng beside him. “I look forward to working together.”

“Likewise.” Wei Xicheng smiled brightly, shaking hands firmly. “Good job.”

Sheng Huasen raised an eyebrow slightly, as if to say, “As long as you’re happy.”

Their subtle exchange went unnoticed by the others, but Qi Yilin, standing at the door, saw everything. He lowered his eyes, pretending as if he hadn’t seen anything.

“Thank you all for your continued support of Shengshi. We look forward to working together again in the future,” Sheng Huasen concluded the bidding session, his gaze briefly sweeping over Qi Yilin at the door.

“You really became the project manager at the company?” Sheng Huasen asked in surprise, looking at Wei Xicheng, who was lazily sprawled on the sofa.

“No, I was just fooling that old man.” Wei Xicheng picked up a chip, popped it into his mouth, took a sip of yogurt, and then wiped the crumbs on Sheng Huasen’s expensive leather sofa.

Sheng Huasen understood. “How did you know there was something wrong with him?”

“Just a guess. A few days ago, his son was bragging to Jia Yue about his dad buying him a limited-edition supercar,” Wei Xicheng replied, changing his position on the sofa and holding his tablet high. “His dad would never have been so generous. The old man is always gossiping at home.”

“There must have been an improper source. I asked a friend at the car dealership, and to my surprise, I actually found out that the improper source was Qi Yilin. Haha, I knew something was up. How am I so smart?” Wei Xicheng put down his tablet, looked at the ceiling, and said seriously, “I could totally be a detective in the future.”

“You.” Sheng Huasen chuckled, continuing to go through the documents in his hand.

Wei Xicheng shifted his gaze to Sheng Huasen’s profile. It’s often said that men look their best when they’re working seriously—this couldn’t be more true.

Sheng Huasen sat upright in his office chair, his posture always straight, making him stand out. His hands, holding the pen, were impeccably clean, with long, beautiful fingers and elegant joints. His chin, slightly lowered, had a smooth line, leading up to tightly pressed lips, a sharp nose, and deep eyes that looked over at him.

“Why are you staring at me?” Sheng Huasen frowned slightly. He was already struggling to focus on work, and now Wei Xicheng was making it worse.

“You’re handsome. Makes the snack taste better,” Wei Xicheng said, holding up a chip, waving it around, and then popping it into his mouth with a loud crunch.

“Snacks aren’t a substitute for real food.”

… Wei Xicheng thought to himself, Sheng Huasen could be adorably strict at times.

He originally thought that two men in a relationship would just get together, watch some adult films, and help each other out—not like the overly affectionate relationships with girls. But today, he realized that when men flirt with each other, it could be pretty intense.

And honestly, kind of exciting.

The image flashed through Wei Xicheng’s mind—a pair of glowing eyes in the darkness.

*Cough, cough, cough.*

A chip got stuck in his throat.

Sheng Huasen immediately stood up, grabbed a glass of water, and walked over to help him.

Wei Xicheng gulped down the water in one go. Maybe he actually liked Sheng Huasen.

“Be careful.” Sheng Huasen took the empty glass, gently patting Wei Xicheng’s back. “No one’s going to steal your food, don’t eat so recklessly.”

Wei Xicheng’s face remained expressionless. He retracted his earlier thoughts. Did he just discover some weird trait of Sheng Huasen’s?
