TPAE chapter 1.8

After a lot of fuss, Wei Xicheng sat to the side, looking at Sheng Huasen lying on the bed. The usual strength and coldness were gone from this man. His brows were no longer tightly furrowed, and his closed eyes concealed their sharpness and intensity.

Although his features were still striking and well-defined, they now carried less of their usual aggression.

Fortunately, the doctor said there was nothing seriously wrong—he just needed rest.

Recalling the look Sheng Huasen had given him earlier, Wei Xicheng shuddered and muttered one of Zhu Xingyuan’s favorite phrases.

“Damn, what the hell.”

Due to Sheng Huasen’s sudden condition, Wei Xicheng no longer had anyone to talk to, so he simply moved his laptop and a small table over, sitting by Sheng Huasen’s bedside. While keeping watch, he started typing on the keyboard.

Although he had grown somewhat lazy in body and heart over the past six months, he hadn’t let his mind go to waste.

Throughout countless worlds, Wei Xicheng had never given up on learning, even under pressure.

Wei Xicheng loved acting, and his ability to travel through endless worlds had given him the opportunity to experience countless lives.

When he embodied a character, he didn’t need to rely on imagination, being himself was what truly brought the character to life, giving his performance a real vitality.

So, the life experience of each character is very important, and different skills are crucial for each character as well.

Well, a life under control is boring, so he could only pass the time by learning new skills.

As time passed, a complete bidding proposal gradually appeared on the laptop screen.

Wei Xicheng stretched his fingers, then lazily stretched his body, only to realize that the person half-reclining on the bed was awake, staring at him—or rather, at the screen of his laptop.

“You’re awake?” Wei Xicheng waved his hand in front of Sheng Huasen’s eyes. “How many fingers?”

“Did you write this yourself?”

“Is there anyone else here?” Wei Xicheng met Sheng Huasen’s deep gaze, confident and composed.

Sheng Huasen chuckled. “How long have you been preparing this? It’s not bad.”

“Just ‘not bad’?”

“It’s very good—perfect, actually.”

“This is your apology.” Wei Xicheng scoffed, closing his laptop before turning around to give Sheng Huasen a punch.

In the next second, his fist was caught, and he was pulled onto the bed.

“Let me up! Are you trying to suffocate me?” Wei Xicheng’s face was pressed into the soft blanket, his voice muffled.

Sheng Huasen pinned Wei Xicheng down with one hand and twisted his arm with the other, preventing him from using his strength.

“You’re tough—hard to suffocate.”

“Let go, you bastard!”

Sheng Huasen pressed down harder. “Let go of who?”

“You bastard! My nose is crooked!”

Sheng Huasen’s eyes were dark, unreadable. He loosened his grip slightly, and Wei Xicheng immediately sprang up, only for Sheng Huasen to grab his other hand.

“Mmph.”

Damn.

Wei Xicheng’s hands were twisted behind his back, and the curse he was about to spit out was blocked by something soft.

Sheng Huasen opened his eyes, staring at the boy’s eyes inches away—clean, surprised, and perhaps a little frightened.

But there was no disgust or hatred.

He gently bit the corner of the boy’s mouth, the slight pain snapping Wei Xicheng back to his senses and triggering a fierce struggle.

Sheng Huasen released Wei Xicheng’s hands, wiping the corner of his mouth with his thumb, a smile forming as he did.

Wei Xicheng watched his movements and couldn’t help but lick the corner of his own mouth, an action that made the man’s gaze darken even more.

“What do you mean? Do you like men?”

Wei Xicheng didn’t beat around the bush and asked directly.

Zhu Xingyuan might be straight, but he was a person who appeared arrogant yet was warm and kind at heart. He understood respect and never hurt others recklessly , so Wei Xicheng’s bold question didn’t break character.

In the long mission, he had never developed feelings for anyone, nor had he met someone who matched his ideal. Only a few managed to enter his life.

He had always been alone.

Maybe this was the first world where he could relax. In the role of Zhu Xingyuan, he didn’t need to restrain himself too much. He could even bring in some of his own small habits without breaking character, adding more depth to the performance.

One could say, among all the passersby in his life, only Sheng Huasen was someone he admired, someone he had put effort into knowing. And only Sheng Huasen knew a part of his true self.

Perhaps his feelings toward Sheng Huasen were also different.

Maybe getting into a relationship wouldn’t be so bad after all?

Anyway, whether he stays in character or completes his task is entirely up to his mood now…

Wei Xicheng didn’t care much about the concept of gender. He had seen and experienced so much, so what’s the big deal about being with a man?

“I like you,” Sheng Huasen said after hesitating, finally managing to say those words.

In the business world, he was a ruthless and decisive executive, but when it came to the person he liked, he was just a cautious novice.

Though he appeared strong, in front of the person he liked, he couldn’t express his thoughts clearly. He disliked how guarded and secretive this person was around him, yet when he sensed that the other wasn’t entirely rejecting him, he regretted his impulsiveness, afraid of making him upset.

“Let’s talk then,” Wei Xicheng kicked off his shoes and sat cross-legged in front of Sheng Huasen. “What do you like about me?”

“Everything.”

“Pfft, tell the truth,” Wei Xicheng pinched his nose, feeling a bit emotional.

“You have a vivid personality. You’re young, full of energy, clever, and cute. You’re kind, sincere, and unpretentious. You have your own understanding and opinions about the world, and you approach life with passion and hope.”

Sheng Huasen’s deep eyes focused on Wei Xicheng, watching as the boy’s cheeks slowly turned red. He continued speaking.

“That’s just your inner self. Your eyes are bright and clear, your features are beautiful, and your proportions are perfect. From the inside out, you exude an unparalleled charm and allure to me. Do you understand what I like about you now? Oh, and when you curse, it makes me want to kiss you the most.”

“Damn—*cough cough*… okay, I get it,” Wei Xicheng averted his gaze, no longer willing to meet Sheng Huasen’s intense stare, and rolled over to look for his shoes.

“Where are you going?” Sheng Huasen grabbed his hand. “I…”

Without turning back, Wei Xicheng’s face felt hot. For the first time in a thousand years, someone had flirted with him so sincerely, and he didn’t dare to look back at the person who had just embarrassed him with such praise.

“Well, uh, I’ll go see if there’s anything to eat. You’ve been asleep for three or four hours.”

“I’ll come with you,” Sheng Huasen said firmly, his lips pressed into a thin line.

“Alright…”

Aunt Zhang stood in the kitchen, watching her beloved young master and Mr. Sheng move back and forth, completely confused.

“Xiaoyuan, go drink the porridge with Mr. Sheng before it gets cold again.”

“Uh, okay.” Wei Xicheng didn’t even glance at the man behind him and headed straight to the dining table.

“Aunt Zhang , you can go now,” Sheng Huasen said, lifting the bowl and speaking to Aunt Zhang while his eyes remained on Wei Xicheng, who was drinking his porridge.

Sensing the strange atmosphere between the two, Aunt Zhang assumed it had something to do with what had happened earlier and didn’t want to say too much. She simply nodded and left the kitchen.

“Are you scared?” Sheng Huasen put down his bowl and spoon, walking over to Wei Xicheng’s side.

“Damn—*cough cough*,” Wei Xicheng had been saying that word so often lately, it was hard to break the habit.

“It’s okay,” Sheng Huasen leaned down and kissed the corner of the boy’s mouth, which was still carrying the light scent of porridge.

“Sheng Huasen, I treated you like a brother, but you—*cough*—want to do *that* to me?!”

With that, Wei Xicheng slammed his bowl down, eyebrows raised, ready to lash out.

But the smile in Sheng Huasen’s eyes vanished the moment he heard that sentence.

He had already prepared for the worst, but when it came to this person, he couldn’t bear to force anything.

“But I, Zhu Xingyuan, have never feared anything.”

Sheng Huasen looked sharply at Wei Xicheng, only to see that his eyes were twinkling like stars.

The owner of those starry eyes asked him, “Wanna try?”
