T/N: Sorry for the delay in updates. I couldn’t update it daily because of some health issues. But this arc……….
guess what type of world it could be?
Btw there will be multiple updates today!!
Wei Xicheng stood in his own system space, the system screen before him emitting a soft blue glow.
He had spent a lifetime with Shen Zhe, and only left that world filled with beautiful memories a second after Shen Zhe departed.
After decades together, Wei Xicheng grew increasingly certain that Shen Zhe was actually Sheng Huasen. Yet, despite countless system scans, he couldn’t detect anything unusual about Shen Zhe. He was just like any person in the parallel world, except for his overwhelming, irresistible strength and the constitution that seemed blessed by the rules themselves.
Originally, Wei Xicheng traveled through parallel worlds not only to find meaning in his existence but also to hone his acting skills. Now, however, he simply wanted to move to the next world to search for his beloved.
Before confirming the transfer, Wei Xicheng hesitated again, unsure if the next world would contain the person he sought.
Opening the system’s energy management page, he wasn’t surprised to find that, even after the energy consumed in the last world, the system’s energy bar hadn’t decreased—instead, it had increased significantly.
This reminded him of the embarrassment he felt when, during moments with Shen Zhe, he watched the energy bar steadily rise.
Just as he was lost in thought… Hm? What’s this?
A new energy storage box had suddenly appeared below the energy bar, filling two slots.
Wei Xicheng reached out to touch it, but the instant he did, he felt a familiar, almost deadly, sensation. Emotions he had deliberately forgotten from his first world came flooding back.
He quickly withdrew his hand, feeling conflicted as he stared at the box.
Who exactly was this person, to affect both him and the system even after leaving the parallel world?
But then again, if this person didn’t want him to forget, he wouldn’t spend so much time resting in slumber.
No matter if they would meet in the next world, Wei Xicheng felt that having these energy fragments to remind him of everything that had happened in the past worlds was nice. At least he wasn’t truly alone.
After adjusting his mood, he used a bit of energy to upgrade the system, strengthened his soul, and confirmed “transfer.”

A blind person this time?
When Wei Xicheng opened his eyes, everything was pitch-black.
He moved his fingers and touched an obstruction, realizing he was lying in a very narrow box, and this body was very weak.
Instinctively sensing that this world might not be as safe as the previous two, he adjusted his physique to the maximum this world could endure, then relaxed and began to receive the plot.
After finishing the script, Wei Xicheng remained silent for two seconds. He then placed his hand on the coffin lid above him and slid it aside, sitting up from the simple, unadorned black wooden coffin.
The clear moonlight streamed through the window, illuminating every detail of the castle’s interior.
This time, he had become a vampire over a thousand years old—the rarest pureblood kind.
Vampires were naturally active at night and had excellent night vision, even without moonlight, he could see everything in the castle. The pitch darkness earlier was simply because the coffin lid was pure black.
Wei Xicheng climbed out of the coffin, slowly rubbed his stomach, feeling the intense hunger. Though the system’s adjustments had removed the weakness, he needed food urgently.
He stepped onto the castle’s carpet in high-heeled boots, kicking up a bit of dust. Pausing as he reached for a cloak on the coat rack, he left wearing only a finely made formal outfit and swiftly exited the castle.
Perhaps more important than just feeding was gathering a group of servants.
The moonlight seemed especially bright tonight. Wei Xicheng moved through the forest outside the castle, his long black hair flowing visibly behind him.
His original identity, Samuel, was a pureblood duke among vampires—a true aristocrat. His beauty and power attracted countless devoted servants, but he eventually grew tired of the indulgent, luxurious lifestyle of vampire society. Answering a call of destiny, he left and lived alone in a mysterious castle.
Despite abandoning his lavish life, he still felt an overwhelming weariness with his endless existence. Tired of the monotony, he dismissed his servants and quickly fell into a deep slumber.
Samuel was powerful, looking down on inferior beings and despising amateur hunters. Among his dismissed servants was a woman named Mavis, who admired his exquisite beauty and unrivaled power. However, Samuel had always disregarded her.
Used to the comforts of castle life, Mavis struggled after her dismissal. She eventually made a pact with a demon, gaining wealth and extended life.
She lived decadently, until a vampire hunter, a figure reminiscent of Samuel, entered her life.
To help her lover gain fame, she revealed the location of the castle and the presence of a slumbering pureblood there.
Samuel’s coffin had been bound with crosses and doused in holy water, the searing pain forcing him awake. However, weakened by his lack of fresh blood, his combat abilities had diminished.
During his duel with the hunter, Mavis took advantage of his distraction, driving a wooden stake through his heart from behind.
A pureblood’s head was a blood hunter’s most prized badge of honor. Mavis and her lover achieved their wish, and in their future happy life together, she would sometimes sigh as she looked at her husband’s face, which was never as striking as Samuel’s, wishing that Samuel were still alive.
As Wei Xicheng sprinted out of the forest, he couldn’t help but wonder why the so-called chosen ones always had such good fortune, with everyone laying down the path for their success. How could a pureblood like Samuel have so easily let a danger like Mavis leave the castle? It was only because the laws of fate muddled his judgment, clouding his thoughts at the moment he should have been completing his mission.
A brightly lit manor was now in view, with sounds of men and women laughing coming from its largest building.
Wei Xicheng hid behind a tree, watching his nails retract and his pointed ears take on the appearance of a human’s. He tidied his hair, disheveled from the journey, adjusted his collar and sleeves, and slowly made his way to the hall.
“Excuse me, who might you be?” a gatekeeper asked.
“Samuel,” Wei Xicheng replied, lifting his chin slightly, conveying his name as a generous gesture, and only after a pause did he add, “Count.”
In a remote town like this, the title of count was often more effective than that of a duke.
The gatekeeper was about to question him further when his companion grabbed his arm, bowing and gesturing with a welcoming hand. “Count Samuel, please, our master has been eagerly awaiting you.”
“Hmm.” Wei Xicheng let out a faint hum, acknowledging he had heard, and proceeded into the ballroom.
As he departed, the first gatekeeper slapped his companion’s hand away, whispering angrily, “Carl! Are you crazy? He didn’t show an invitation! If something goes wrong, neither of us will keep our jobs!”
Carl glanced at him and muttered, “Idiot.”
“Are you calling me names?”
“Look over there!” Carl pointed to an extravagant carriage in the manor grounds. “He just came down from that. You couldn’t afford that carriage if you worked your whole life. The master is thrilled just to have someone like him attend, and you still want to stop him for an invitation? If he felt insulted and turned away, you’d be in trouble!”
“Did you actually see him come out of it?” the gatekeeper asked suspiciously.
“Not exactly,” Carl admitted, but before his friend could protest, he added, “But did you see his clothes? Even though his outfit’s style looked a bit outdated, that’s the thing with these nobles—they love stuff from centuries ago, considering it a mark of status.”
“Carl, you can’t just assume he’s a guest!”
“Let me finish!” Carl said, trying to calm him. “My sister once worked at a shop making clothes for nobles. I know a bit about fabric and embroidery. From what I saw, his outfit was the finest at this ball!”
“You’re sure?” the gatekeeper asked, still doubtful.
Carl patted his chest. “I’ll bet my wages for a year on it.”
“Alright, then, but don’t blame me if this goes wrong.” The gatekeeper shrugged, turning his attention back to the misty night in the distance.
Meanwhile, Wei Xicheng had already stepped into the hall, and the moment he entered, countless gazes turned toward him, filled with admiration and awe.
In this remote town, a grand ball like this only happened once a year, attended by the town’s wealthy families and their wives and daughters. In a way, it also served as a matchmaking event. However, the wealthy here were far from the level of those in the big cities, and many had already lost their decorum. The moment Wei Xicheng entered, his elegance stood in stark contrast, like an authentic piece clashing with counterfeits.
Ignoring the various stares aimed his way, Wei Xicheng picked up a glass of red wine offered by a waiter. Somehow, under the influence of this body, he found himself especially drawn to red liquids.
The host of the ball was Old Willy, a respected wise man in town and a fallen baron. His white hair showed his advanced age, and a pureblood as picky as Samuel would have no appetite for such “food,” even if starving.
Old Willy raised his glass to Wei Xicheng. Though he couldn’t quite remember when he’d sent an invitation to such a nobleman, he felt it his duty as the host to show respect.
“I’m truly honored by your presence. I hope you have a pleasant evening and find a beautiful companion.”
Through his thick glasses, Old Willy could just make out the handsome young man before him, the kind who’d surely charm the town’s beauties.
“Thank you,” Wei Xicheng replied, taking a sip of the wine, finding it rough and poor in quality.
Satisfied with the exchange, Old Willy left, his reputation now elevated by his “friendship” with this noble guest. When word of the evening spread, his standing in town would rise.
Wei Xicheng scanned the room. He could have easily flown to the back of the hall to find a quick snack, but he recalled his need to play the part of a vampire gentleman, and more importantly, to find his lover. That meant mingling was essential. He abandoned his plan of isolating himself in a castle, realizing that as soon as he entered human society, Samuel’s character had, in essence, shattered.
Some prominent guests were more observant than Carl and his gatekeeper friend, when they saw Samuel’s bearing and attire, no one doubted his status.
Wei Xicheng surveyed the room, looking for a tall man. When he made eye contact, it was met with nods, ladies, upon receiving his gaze, gasped softly and shyly lowered their handkerchiefs.
After scanning the room, Wei Xicheng, although unsurprised his lover wasn’t there, still felt a pang of disappointment. Across both worlds, his lover had always come to him and fallen in love. Now, as he searched for the right person in a sea of people, he found it incredibly challenging. After two worlds, it seemed calling him by either “Sheng Huasen” or “Shen Zhe” felt inadequate, so Wei Xicheng simply referred to him as “my love” in his heart.
Suddenly, the music changed to a lively dance tune, and space opened on the floor for couples.
“Count Samuel?” A woman’s voice of astonishment sounded behind him.
Turning around, Wei Xicheng saw his own reflection in the woman’s light brown eyes. A flash of admiration crossed her face, her cheeks reddened, and she spoke in a soft tone, “Mavis wasn’t wrong, you truly are favored by the gods with such beauty and strength. You break countless hearts.”
Wei Xicheng frowned slightly. He didn’t particularly like being called beautiful.
“Do you remember Mavis? She visited recently and spoke of you often. I thought she was exaggerating, but meeting you, I see she didn’t say enough.”
Unaware of his frown, the woman continued, glancing down at her gown.
“Hmm.” Wei Xicheng caught the faint scent of fresh blood on her.
“Would you like to dance with me? For Mavis’s sake, our mutual friend?” She adjusted her corset, visibly pleased with her appearance, and looked up at his chiseled jaw with expectation.
Wei Xicheng smirked.
”Delighted, my beautiful lady.”
When the other young ladies saw the nobleman being charmed onto the dance floor by Natalie, they jealously clutched their handkerchiefs. Men of such caliber were rare in this small, remote town. Vampires were naturally beautiful, and Wei Xicheng had maximized this body’s potential: his tall frame, aloof aura, and air of wealth made him the dream of every lady in the hall.
He held Natalie by the waist, dancing in the hall with the friend of his “old friend.” His black hair floated gently as they spun, his loosely tied ribbon adding a lazy allure. His deep brown eyes glimmered with a hint of red, unnoticed by all.
Natalie tried to lean closer to him, hoping they’d appear more intimate, but he skillfully kept his distance, sensing her intentions.
“Count, how did you and Mavis meet?” she asked, trying to find a common topic, aware that Mavis had spoken highly of their friendship.
But Wei Xicheng held up a finger, placing it inches from her lips in a silencing gesture. Natalie lowered her gaze to his elegant, fair hand so close to her, gazing with starry eyes. He embodied the noble gentleman of high society, aligning perfectly with her ideal.
Wei Xicheng, however, did not want to touch her, partly due to personal reluctance and partly due to Samuel’s inherent arrogance and aloofness. Midway through the dance, he grew impatient, realizing he had no reason to waste his time here.
“Miss Natalie, I think you’ve had a bit much to drink. Perhaps you should get some fresh air on the balcony.”
His smooth, magnetic voice filled her ears, and she, already dazzled by his charm, seemed entirely under his spell.
“Mr. Samuel, will you join me?”
“Of course, it would be my honor.”

Author’s note: Some said the last world ended abruptly, so, if I can overcome my laziness, I’ll add an extra chapter (?).
