“Fuck! Let’s get them!” Seeing his comrade shot with blood pooling out from the wound, lying on the ground and possibly dead, his companion picked up the gun and shouted, waiting for his other companions. Sure enough, someone others rushed out after hearing his voice, but the man who picked up the gun had already quietly turned and ran to where the car were.
“Boom!!” The telephone polo in the middle of the road was suddenly cut by breeze mixed with golden luster. Both groups of people turned their eyes in horror to see a black highland SUV stop in the middle of the road. The window of the passenger seat was rolled down, and a handsome man put his arm on the window, seeming to stare at the pole that was cut off.
Realizing that everyone was looking at him, he turned his head to look at those he had interrupted and apologized. “Sorry, we were a bit loud when clearing the roadblock. Please continue.”
After saying that, the car backed up, turning to drive through the gap created. As they did, the man suddenly remembered something, and pointed in the direction of a small house on the side of the road. “That man seems to be driving away.”
Several of the robbers who were supporting each other immediately came back to their senses, and saw their accomplice who had just clamored for everyone to rush up was running towards their car at this time. Forgetting everything, they hurriedly chased after him, swearing.
Someone in the convoy wanted to give chase, but was stopped by another man. “No need to chase, they have guns on them.” Just now, when both sides broke out in anger, it was a bit reckless of them. Otherwise, those people would not take the initiative to attack after they found out they had people with powerful and shocking abilities.
And if it wasn’t for their wounded companion who was shot with a gun, they wouldn’t be so willing to fight to the death. Calming down and considering that the zombies chasing them will catch up soon, it was better to get to the base first. As for those scum-they had better not run into them in the future, otherwise, they will never let it go!
“Zizhong, you were very handsome just then!” Fang Hao smiled and said to He Zizhong after they had driven away from the other team.
He Zizhong smiled bitterly, and poured two mouthfuls of space water into his mouth to restore his mental strength. He originally wanted to use the wind blade to cut the electric pole, but who would have thought? He always wanted to use his abilities together before, and was suddenly able to do so out of nowhere? However, the energy consumption was too exaggerated – it was completely emptied in that one attack. Fortunately they had space water to help replenish mental energy.
“The ‘ qi’ practice we did at night seems to have an effect on abilities.” After regaining some mental power, He Zizhong explained why the attack was so fierce just then.
“Qi? It has an effect on abilities?” Fang Hao had a question mark on his head, obviously not understanding his meaning.
He Zizhong closed his eyes and explained: “Before, I wanted to fuse the two abilities together, such as adding my gold ability to my wind ability to strength the wind blade, I couldn’t do it before. When I used the ability just now, I subconsciously brought in the ‘qi’, and the two actually merged.” He had also just had a big fright just then! The seemingly calm appearance was actually from surprising himself so much. The golden cyan wind had a much stronger effect than using his gold ability directly on an iron rod and hitting a zombie.
Because Fang Hao had only one healing ability, this kind of application had a limited effect on him. But knowing that ‘qi’ could greatly increase He Zizhong’s lethality, his appearance became much happier than He Zizhong himself.
“Then let’s practice this every day!” After speaking, he found that He Zizhong raised his eyebrows and looked at him with a smile on his face. Only when Fang Hao realized that wanting to cultivate that kind of ‘qi’ takes two people… ahem, do what his husband loves to do. His white face instantly turned red again, and his entire person seemed to be smoking.
He Zizhong smiled, patting his soft hair lightly, and whispered in his ear in a somewhat ambiguous voice: “Okay, we will ‘practice’ every night.”
As they drove to the south, the two passed by many convoys along the way. Behind these vehicles fleeing from the north, were “sounds” and the movement of a zombie army behind them. The ones they could avoid, they would avoid, but otherwise they would rush forward and bulldoze through, sending the zombies flying. He Zizhong was already silently considering in his heart whether to make a detour when returning to drop by car shops and pick up a few spare crash-resistant cars? He was afraid they won’t be able to hold on for long like this relying on their current vehicle and the spare car in the space.
After He Zizhong switched to the driver’s seat, they turned onto a relatively secluded road, ditched the zombies behind, and drove towards the warehouse in his memory.
The buildings, green spaces, and even farmland on both sides of the road were shrouded in gray mist, exuding a scent of decay. Even the plants on the roadside have begun to wither. Many originally lush plants were directly strangled by the grey air early in the apocalypse. But most people were busy escaping and did not pay attention. Even when someone attentive found out, there was still nothing they could do.
He Zizhong’s gaze swept across the vegetation on both sides of the road, and noticed that something seemed to be moving in the weeds deep beside the road.
It may be a zombie hiding on the side of the road, or it may be a human. But it was more likely to be a zombie animal or a mutated scary plant. No matter which it was, he was not interested in having close contact. His task now was to drive to the destination quickly.
Fang Hao raised his binoculars and looked at the slightly trembling bushes as well. They managed to drive passed uneventfully without figuring out what it was. However, since only the grass moved and nothing emerged, He Zizhong seriously doubted if it was a mutant plant.
After driving for a long time, the car finally reached their first stop – a warehouse on the edge of the city.
There were many scattered warehouses and factories here, and some small workshops on the edge of the city were also nearby. The tall courtyards and courtyard walls were on both sides of the road, and the barking of dogs was heard from afar. Whether it was an ordinary dog that hasn’t mutated… or a zombie animal, they didn’t know.
He Zizhong drove towards one of the most sturdy-looking warehouses. When he came here last time, not only were the doors and walls of the warehouse damaged, almost none of the nearby buildings were intact. Going to the door of the warehouse and seeing the intact walls, He Zizhong lightly breathed a sigh of relief in his heart – the situation should be fine.
Fang Hao took a binoculars to scan around and reported to He Zizhonghui: “There are a few zombies outside of a compound over there hitting the door, and there are seven or eight outside the courtyard on the other side.”
Very good, no zombies were found on the periphery of the target warehouse. That was good. “Rest here at noon. It looks like a warehouse, and let’s see if there is anything inside.”
Fang Hao naturally didn’t have any opinion. It was past lunch time, and his stomach was already hungry, but he never said it.
He Zizhong parked the car in a relatively concealed place and only got out of the car with Fang Hao with a weapon after it was locked.
There were no people visible on the streets nearby. Some scattered zombies discovered the movement of the car and rushed to towards them. Carefully carefully guarding each other, they cleaned those zombies holding weapons in their hands, wearing hats and masks on their heads, and wearing long-sleeved clothes.
After cleaning up the zombies, they cautiously walked to the warehouse gate, and He Zizhong began to pick the lock.
People who were reborn from the end of the world would master miscellaneous skills, such as lock picking, minimizing the movement of their actions, hiding their breath and so on.
Fang Hao remained vigilant, keeping an eye out until He Zizhong’s voice came from behind: “Okay.”
Pushing open the door carefully, the two of them scanned every direction, up, down, left, and right, for zombies as they entered.
In the warehouse, they found military quilts, cotton gloves and other things stacked at the door. The quality of these things was not very good, and the quantity was not very large. He Zizhong picked and collected about one-third. It was worth mentioning that Fang Hao also used the space to collect things — “Senior, we can take things through the air?!”
Fang Hao was already very excited to be able to collect things in the space. When he discovered that He Zizhong had taken in a pile of cotton gloves three meters away, his eyes lit up in surprise.
“Yes, but there is still a distance limit.” He Zizhong just tried it out of his mind. After all, his space upgraded, and maybe there were other changes besides the space itself becoming bigger?
Unexpectedly, fetching things through the air really came true!
The two tried best to suppress the excitement in their chests as they walked further inside the warehouse. There were boxes and boxes of canned military supplies stacked in the depths!
The two opened a box, and Fang Hao confirmed with the flashlight: “This is from three years ago… it will expire in three months.”
No wonder they were piled up here so carelessly. He Zizhong remembered that after they arrived at the base in city A in their previous life, they had not heard the military organize troops to collect anything here. Most of the things in this warehouse were probably “expired products” to be dealt with. For example, canned foods that are about to expire, and other things such as bedding and military boots that have obviously been used for a long time.
“It doesn’t matter, this kind of can can still last for about two years even after it expires.” He Zizhong held one in his hand. “This kind of can has no pull ring on it, and is more resistant to air leakage than the one with the pull ring. As long as canned food doesn’t bulge up, there is no problem.” Let alone keeping these cans for another two years, he saw cans from eight years ago being eaten in his previous life.
What’s more, there was a freshness-keeping effect in the space, so these things will never expire when they are placed inside.
Fang Hao, who had just unlocked the ability collect things into the space, rolled up his sleeves and prepared for the big job. He Zizhong was happy to stand aside and watch him busily rush here and there. Perhaps it was because he was able to use the space for the first time, when he came back to his senses, he discovered that there were almost no cans left in the entire warehouse.
Looking at the small pile of dozens of boxes not far away, Fang Hao was a little embarrassed and looked at He Zizhong. He knew that He Zizhong would not clean everything every time he collected things, and the two of them couldn’t consume so many things.
