SVWL Chapter 51.1

Tang Nuan asked that originally out of pure concern, but only after saying it outloud did she realize that she was fighting together with Zhu Tong.

She and Zhu Tong were stunned together, then turned to look at the new party.

Shao Ming no longer looked at them, but was flipping through something with his mobile phone. At some point, his fingers paused in place. He let out an airy smile. “Mn. The photos are quite good.”

Zhu Tong: “?”

He tilted his head and glanced at it, and said in surprise, “How could you join this group?”

Shao Ming casually replied. “I dunno, someone must’ve invited me to make up the number or something.”

Zhu Tong: “…”

‘So that means… Shao Ming must have seen all the content posted there, right?’

“You…”

Zhu Tong paused and asked, “Aren’t you angry?”

Shao Ming replied, “Angry? Why?”

Zhu Tong: “Just… just at what they said…”

Shao Ming: “What did they say?”

“…”

Zhu Tong suddenly stopped.

Tang Nuan in the front seat was keenly aware of something. She looked at Zhu Tong, who looked a little lost, and then looked at Shao Ming, who was calm and composed, his eyes showing a little clarity.

She turned her body back in silence, her ears pricked up, eager to eavesdrop as the unrelated third party.

Zhu Tong didn’t know that his “comrade-in-arms” had slipped away. His mind was full of the remarks he just saw on Tang Nuan’s phone… He couldn’t say it.

“Please make sure to take him back in one piece to your bridal chamber!” “This post?”

“!”

Zhu Tong widened his eyes in shock.

He even read it out loud!

Seeing that Zhu Tong was still too stunned to speak, Shao Ming’s smile still held true. “Is the phrase ‘Still better with two men’ better?”

“…”

“I’m going crazy.”

“You can look at first glance at how skillful he is. This must not be his first time carrying someone princess style. Study God has good physical strength.”

“The princess carry just killed me. Please slap me hard with sweeter dog food!”

Shao Ming’s tone was calm, his voice was very light. While he recited them without much passion, judging from the corners of his mouth that kept rising, he was clearly in a good mood.

Zhu Tong didn’t know what to say anymore.

Shao Ming continued, “This close-together position, the Study God…”

He suddenly stopped reciting.

If the latter half of that post was published on a formal platform, the post would probably be taken down.

No matter how thick-skinned Shao Ming was, he was too embarrassed to read that out loud. He let out a cough, put away his phone, and looked at a certain listless young master. He commented in a serious tone: “These people are quite interesting.”

Zhu Tong: “…”

‘Where are the interesting parts of those people?’

Shao Ming approached him and said, “Are you angry?”

Zhu Tong subconsciously said, “Why am I angry…”

“Yeah, you are not angry, then why should I be angry?”

“…”

Zhu Tong quickly reacted.

Makes sense, ah!

He knew it’s all just jokes, why would Shao Ming get angry at that?

He was really too entrenched by the setting of this danmei novel world.

This is called someone with a guilty conscience seeing their faults everywhere!

He said, still in a stunned voice, “That’s right… it’s fine if you don’t get angry, yes, there’s nothing to be angry about.”

“But it’s really not nutritious.” Shao Ming’s eyes darkened slightly. He then approached him and said, “Would you like to tell me something nutritious instead?”

“…”

‘Nutritious? What counts as nutritious?’

Zhu Tong hesitated. “Then I will recite a textbook for you?”

Shao Ming: “…”

Shao Ming instead said, “Why do you think those words earlier are not nutritious?”

Zhu Tong felt that Shao Ming’s question was very oppressive. He blinked, and thoughtfully said, “Because… those words are nonsense.”

Shao Ming asked, “If nonsense means nutritionless, then what kind of words are nutritious?”

Zhu Tong: “…”

Nonsensical words are not nutritious; so, in reverse… if it carries meaning, then it’s nutritious.

So… what counts as “carrying meaning”?

Zhu Tong felt really confused.

Shao Ming smiled at him, his eyes curved.

Zhu Tong became even more nervous. ‘What does Shao Ming want me to say?’

He vaguely caught something, but he couldn’t grasp it – it’s as if the answer was illusory.

After a brief silence, Shi Wenshu, holding the lesson plan, had already walked into the classroom.

Zhu Tong glanced at the podium, then turned his head and urged him. “The teacher is here, put away your phone.”

The smile on Shao Ming’s face did not diminish. He only lowered his eyes to restrain the complicated emotions in his eyes, and said in a low voice, “Okay.”

On the podium, Shi Wenshu looked at the energetic students after the holiday. With a smile on his face, he said, “It seems that everyone had a good holiday.”

Immediately below, someone wailed, “There are more than a dozen homeworks for the entire one week holiday! Lao Ban1老班, as a teacher, you might not understand the hardships of studying. In reality, our holidays are quite agonizing.”

Shi Wenshu looked at the student and said warmly, “You have been suffering so much that on the first day of school you copied all those homeworks?”

“…”

“Hahahahahaha.”

Laughter rang in the classroom.

Shi Wenshu didn’t blame the student. His tone remained calm, “While on, the homeworks given by the teacher should still be completed well. If you can’t solve a problem, leave it blank. Copying homework is not encouraged. Even though the last monthly exam has ended, we still need to take our studies seriously. Additionally, after the holiday, the school plans to organize a choir competition, and every class is expected to participate…”

“Wow!”

“Amazing!”

“Awesome!”

Before Shi Wenshu finished his announcement, he was already given a burst of applause.

For high school students who have been oppressed by study for a long time, any group activity other than study can arouse their enthusiasm a hundredfold.

Someone shouted, “Shi-laoshi, what will our class sing?”

Shi Wenshu smiled and said, “I’ve already chosen the song. We’ll sing ‘Tunnel Warfare2the title is 地道战. I don’t know if the song has an English title, so I tl’d it literally. I’ll link the song below.’. The last two batches of students I taught sang this song in the choir competition, and we secured a spot in the top 3 both times.” ()

After he told them the title, the classroom was eerily silent for a second or two.

“Tunnel Warfare? Is it the Tunnel Warfare I thought?”

“Choosing this song really reveals our teacher’s age…3the song is composed by Ren Xudong in 1965

“Shi-laoshi is only in his thirties, right? His face is still really young, so he can’t actually be in his fifties…. But his selection in this old-fashioned song… can I refuse?”

“Be content, whatever song it is, as long as it can delay learning, we’ll make do. Let’s make the chorus more violent!”

“…”

There was a buzz of discussions in the classroom. Someone in the back row, with a curious tone, chimed in, “What song is ‘Tunnel Warfare’?”

Shao Ming seemed to be used to the fact that Zhu Tong didn’t understand anything. He thought for a moment and said directly, “Do you want to listen?”

Zhu Tong looked at Shi-laoshi on the podium and whispered, “Let’s listen after class.”

Knowing what he was worried about, Shao Ming smiled and said, “It’s okay, I have a solution.”

“What solution do you offer? Wearing earphones?”

He wasn’t aware Shao Ming brought earphones to school.

Shao Ming had already lowered his head, quickly opened a music app on his phone, adjusted the volume to the minimum, pressed play, and then tucked the phone into the cuff of his sleeve.

“Come here.” He said softly.

Zhu Tong put his ear on Shao Ming’s sleeve.

A faint warmth reached his ears. Shao Ming wrapped his arm around the back of his head, pressed it against his ear, with a rigid phone sandwiched in between. Several slender fingers, intentionally or unintentionally, played with the contours of his earlobe.

Zhu Tong shuddered for a moment, but was quickly attracted by the music drilling into his eardrums.

He hadn’t heard this song before. Everyone in the class was complaining about how old it is, but Zhu Tong couldn’t tell.

The melody was relatively lively, the lyrics were dense, and it had an imposing momentum.

He frowned suddenly. “I may not be able to sing this song.”

Shao Ming raised his eyebrows and asked, “Why is that?”

Zhu Tong replied, “My lung capacity is not very good, I’ll gasp if I have to sing something this long.”

The lyrics were quite mouthful and long, he might not have time to properly breathe.

To play music for Zhu Tong in a natural way, Shao Ming currently had one hand resting on his shoulder, and the two of them were very close.

While listening to the song, Zhu Tong tilted his head to talk to him, and his soft breath hit Shao Ming’s face.

A seemingly normal sentence made Shao Ming’s heart a bit itchy. He cleared his throat and his voice became slightly hoarse as he asked, “Why would you gasp?”

Zhu Tong: “Because I’ll be short of breath. I may not be able to keep up with the rhythm, and it will drag others down.”

Shao Ming: “…”

The youth’s profile was just a breath away. Although there wasn’t much flesh on his face, after many days of his nurture, it looked considerably more rosy.

His neck was slender and white, and the breath he exhaled was warm and even. If he was really gasping and panting, out of breath yet still trying to sing… what will his face look like?

Shao Ming, lost in his fantasy, so he could only mumble, “Really?”

Zhu Tong nodded.”Yes.”

He had to tell Teacher Shi that he couldn’t participate in the choir.

The song was barely 2 minutes long, so it passed quickly. The music stopped automatically after it ended.

Zhu Tong raised his head and said, “I’m done listening.”

Shao Ming didn’t move, his hand was still on his ear.

Suddenly, a gaze from the podium looked over. “Zhu Tong? What are you discussing with Shao Ming? Do you have something to say?”

Shi Wenshu has been paying more attention to Zhu Tong because of his poor health. When he looked up, he saw that the two students he was most concerned about were lowering their heads and whispering, so he couldn’t help but be a little curious.

However, in the eyes of the students, their “Whispers” were not like that.

What kind of whispering makes you cover the other’s one ear and talk to the other?

What on earth are those two doing!

More students focused on them. Zhu Tong turned to look at the hand on his right shoulder, and subconsciously reminded him, “Your phone…”

Shao Ming withdrew his hand naturally and said, “We weren’t discussing anything. His ears are a little cold, so I warmed it up by covering it.”

The whole class: “…”

If his ears are cold, why are you warming it up using your hand?

Before anyone could raise a question, Shao Ming added, “Oh, Laoshi, can we add a recitation before the choir? My throat isn’t in great condition, and I might not be able to sing. It would be best if it’s done by two people. I’ll do it with my deskmate. Otherwise, it would feel too lonely.”

“…”

This is a perfect demonstration of what it means to talk nonsense with your eyes wide open.

Shao Ming claimed his throat wasn’t feeling good while talking in such a powerful voice. It seems like their class choir performance is in for a tough time.

And he wants to do it with his desk mate?

His bad thoughts are as clear as day!

But excellent students always have privileges. Shi Wenshu said, “That works too. This song originally had a recitation part, which was meant to be recited by both males and females. However, we have more male students in our class. It’s fine for you and Zhu Tong to recite together. Although the lyrics are a bit fewer, the key is participation. Let’s settle with that.”

Shi Wenshu made a final decision.

He also asked the literary and art committee members to go to the office to get a speaker, planning to play it on loop during self-study class so that everyone could get familiar with the melody, making future practices more convenient.

Zhu Tong was still confused.

“Your… throat isn’t in great condition?”

Shao Ming asked back: “What do you think?”

Zhu Tong: “…”
