SVWL Chapter 53.2

That night, Shao Ming didn’t leave his room. So, he didn’t know that a certain someone who had returned to his bedroom sneaked out again into the dark living room.

Zhu Tong is still worried, and staying in the living room is also convenient for the first time to know the movements of the people in the room.

In the second half of the night, it started to rain. The raindrop was quite heavy, making the air gradually turn cold. Zhu Tong grabbed a folded blanket and covered himself with it. After bundling himself up, he was hit with a wave of sleepiness.

He glanced at the door again, but no light came out. In the darkness, his eyelids began to fight his attempts to stay up, and even his body betrayed his determination. The moment his head rested on the armrest of the sofa, he fell into a deep sleep.

The next morning, Shao Ming turned on the lights in the living room and found a sleeping young master on the sofa.

“…”

The light in the living room was facing the sofa. So when it suddenly turned on, it penetrated the young master’s closed eyelids. Then, it fluttered.

But Zhu Tong didn’t wake up.

He slept too late last night, and he was still in deep sleep. He frowned slightly, tilted his head, and continued to sleep away despite the dazzling lights.

He looked very vulnerable to the cold air, seeing the blanket wrapped tightly around his body. The light green blanket made him look like a baby silkworm.

Shao Ming didn’t know what kind of mood he had when he walked over.

His steps were light, but his heartbeat was fast.

The youth lying on the sofa, leaning on the armrest, fell asleep in a very uncomfortable position with both legs hanging on the ground.

‘When did he come out? Did he sleep on the sofa all night?’

Shao Ming’s heart slightly stirred.

One day five years ago, the first morning when they were freed from Qiu Shaoping, he also walked out of his room like this – there was someone in the living room at that time.

The person, who had taken care of him for more than a decade, was gently cleaning up the blood and broken glass on the ground. She looked tired and seemed to have not slept all night.

He still remembers – the moment the door opened, Shao Yujie turned to see him, as if she saw another Qiu Shaoping.

In fact, she looked even more afraid than when facing Qiu Shaoping.

The fear brought by Qiu Shaoping to her was one of despair and numbness, but when Shao Yujie looked at him, it was more like she was looking at a monster.

A 12 years old monster.

And everyone is afraid of monsters.

So, when last night Zhu Tong claimed that he was not afraid of him, Shao Ming didn’t actually believe it.

Perhaps he just didn’t see it clearly, or maybe he arrived too late and had no idea what he had actually done.

Or maybe, he just said that to comfort him, when in fact, he was pretending to be calm when facing him.

Perhaps after this, Zhu Tong would also be afraid of him.

But in reality, that youth, who was usually so particular, slept in the living room out of concern for him.

The gloomy mood that lasted the whole night seemed to be liberated in an instant.

Shao Ming stood beside the sofa, blocking the dazzling light above the sleeping youth’s head. The boy’s slightly frowning brows slowly loosened, but he still did not wake up.

He squatted down beside the sofa again, looked at the boy’s slightly parted lips, at his even warm breaths.

The sound of the rain outside the window has not stopped. The pitter-patter sound was hypnotic, but it felt like hitting his heart all the same, gently enough that it only felt ticklish.

Shao Ming couldn’t help reaching out and poked the boy’s soft lips.

His eyes darkened slightly, but he did not take advantage of the situation.

He had to wait.

He bent down and lowered his head, wanting to pick the youth up from the sofa. But just as he put his hand behind the boy’s neck, the sleeping youth suddenly grunted and slowly opened his eyes.

There was a haze in the youth’s eyes, clearly because he hadn’t fully awakened yet. The face that Shao Ming had intended to withdraw suddenly froze in front of the young man.

“…”

Zhu Tong blinked his heavy eyelid, feeling a strange soreness on his neck. He titled his head to look properly.

“Did I wake you up?” Shao Ming whispered.

Zhu Tong sounded groggy. “You are…”

What is this guy doing with his hand under his neck?

Shao Ming lightly smiled. “I was just about to secretly kiss you.”

“…”

Zhu Tong froze.

If Shao Ming keeps joking like this, he will take it seriously in the future!!

Shao Ming had already stood up and picked up the youth at the same time. He said in a casual manner, “How can you sleep on such a small sofa? Go to bed.”

“I can go by myself.” Zhu Tong said, the habit formed during the holidays had already made him put his hand on Shao Ming’s shoulder. His free hand rubbed his eye and asked, “What time is it now?”

Shao Ming replied, “It’s still early, you can continue to sleep.”

Zhu Tong was already very sleepy, so he was relieved. He covered his mouth and yawned. When he remembered something, he was jolted into fully awakened. “Why are you up early?”

Shao Ming: “…”

Zhu Tong’s mind was filled with thoughts of how Shao Ming had actually managed to “prevent” any potential danger. He looked concerned and asked, “Are you… having trouble sleeping? Is something bothering you?”

“…”

Shao Ming did not sleep all night, but he was a little embarrassed now.

Zhu Tong turned to look at the wall clock above the TV cabinet and was stunned.

It was 6:10.

Their morning self-study was at 6:40. It took about 20 minutes to commute from here to their class, so they had to leave at 6:20 the latest.

Zhu Tong looked back at Shao Ming, paused for a second or two, then leaped up like a carp.

In the bathroom, Zhu Tong complained while brushing his teeth. “Why didn’t you remind me that we’re going to be late? It’s too late!”

Shao Ming even planned to let him go back to his room to sleep!

Shao Ming brushed his teeth unhurriedly and comforted him. “No need to worry, we can ask for a morning self-study absence.”

“How can that be?” Zhu Tong said, “It’s already against the school rules to be absent from class last night. Missing morning self-study again… In any case, we can’t be late. Hurry up.”

Shao Ming was amused by his hurried actions. All the negative emotions were swept away.

After a busy time, the two finally packed up and prepared to go out, but they were still late.

It was raining outside so they couldn’t use the bike. When the two youths walked into the classroom with an umbrella, the morning self-study time was almost over.

Shi Wenshu waited outside the classroom, not giving them a chance to attend the morning self-study. He called them to his office and scolded them until the end of the morning self-study. Only when the breakfast cafeteria rush began did he release them from the office.

Young Master Zhu, who had never been scolded, left the office and immediately began to doubt his life. “That’s the first time in my life I got punished by writing a reflection…”

Shao Ming smiled. “Mn, it’s my honor.”

Zhu Tong: “???”

He even laughed!

Is it an honorable thing to write a reflection?

But at least, Shao Ming looks better than yesterday.

When the teenager who ruthlessly kicked someone in the square last night returned home, he gave an indescribable sense of vulnerability.

None of last night’s onlookers would associate Shao Ming with the word “vulnerable”, but Zhu Tong felt that way.

He didn’t like this feeling. He didn’t want to see Shao Ming in that state ever again.

He didn’t mention last night’s incident again. As the two walked into the classroom, most of the students had gone to the cafeteria. Luo Suo waved to them from his seat and said, “Ming-ge, I ordered crab roe buns and millet porridge for breakfast. I’ll have it delivered to the school gate later.”

Shao Ming nodded to him as usual.

Back at his seat, Zhu Tong took out a pen and paper and started to write his reflection essay. Just as he was about to write, he suddenly stopped, turned to look at Shao Ming, and secretly sent a message to Uncle Liu.

At the same time, Shao Ming’s mobile phone also received a text message, from a familiar unknown number.

[I told you long ago that you are just a student in the end.]

[I will send someone to go to Gongshui County, let’s meet there.]

Shao Ming’s expression darkened.

He’s quite adept at finding opportune moments.

His lips hooked up into a rather cold smile. He didn’t block the number immediately, but replied:  [Alright.]
