The Substitute Awakens Chapter 3.1

The day before yesterday, after class, Yan Heqing met Lu Muchi for the first time.

On the way back to the dormitory, a Mercedes brazenly drove into the campus, blocking his path.

The window rolled down, revealing a man in his early twenties in the driver’s seat.

He looked Yan Heqing up and down, as if he were inspecting a product for sale.

There was another person in the passenger seat.

Yan Heqing had seen him before—a third-year student in their department, and the head of the publicity department who had once come to their dorm to promote something.

“Ah Chi,” the passenger fawned, “doesn’t he look just like him?”

The man gave a distracted “Hmm,” his eyes still lingering on Yan Heqing.

After a moment, the man pulled out a cigarette, placed it in his mouth, and slowly said, “Three million a year, sleep with me. How about it?”

Yan Heqing’s face turned pale. However, his skin was naturally cool and fair; the extreme insult in those words added a layer of despair to his cold complexion.

He was disgusted.

Yet he knew he could not afford to offend such a wealthy man—someone who could drive into the campus and have others groveling.

He could not afford to offend him.

“You’ve got the wrong person.”

Yan Heqing turned and walked away.

Behind him came a sneer, followed by the sound of a lighter flicking.

“We’ll meet again,” Lu Muchi said.

Now, this was the second time.

Gradually, the scenes described in the novels overlapped with reality.

Those inhumane, utterly degrading scenarios became vividly real.

They were about to happen to him—a living, breathing nightmare.

Every inch of Yan Heqing’s eyes, his skin, his entire body began to tingle with pain and itch.

But he knew that in this world, there was no such thing as empathy. The pain he was feeling now was just a fraction of what was to come.

Overwhelming pain and hatred surged through Yan Heqing. He knew that there was only one path leading to his future, to his survival.

And that is………….

Before they could hurt him, he would mercilessly crush them.

Before they inflicted harm on him, he would repay them a hundredfold!

Yan Heqing clenched his fingers, then slowly released them. His knuckles, long and slender, were a cold, icy white.

His light brown eyes calmly met the blatant gaze, “I’m not going.”

Zhao Huilin, already lured by the money, crouched down eagerly to pick up the bills, grinning so wide her mouth nearly reached her eyes, “Oh, Qingqing, Young Master Lu is here to pick you up. You—ah!”

Zhao Huilin screamed as a shoe heel crushed her hand.

Lu Muchi’s expression didn’t change as he walked inside. He stopped in front of Yan Heqing, unbuttoned one of his shirt buttons, grabbed Yan Heqing by the collar, and shoved him against the balcony window. A casual smirk played at his lips, “You like doing it here? Fine by me.”

Yan Shengbing and Yan Feng, who had just come out of the room, had no idea what was happening. Yan Shengbing saw the money scattered all over the floor and, not recognizing Lu Muchi, thought he was a thief. He took off his slipper and charged at Lu Muchi, “You motherf—”

Before he could move, a well-trained bodyguard swiftly entered from outside and executed a clean shoulder throw, pinning Yan Shengbing to the ground. The bodyguard knelt, holding Yan Shengbing’s arm behind his back, pressing it tightly against him.

Yan Shengbing was flat on the ground, his face pressed against the floor, his arms unable to move. He had never seen anything like this before, and cried out in pain, “Let go of me! You bastard, let go… Ouch!”

Yan Feng was paralyzed with fear, not daring to move an inch.

Zhao Huilin, having forgotten her pain, quickly ran to beg Lu Muchi, “Young Master Lu, please—”

Smack!

Lu Muchi slapped Zhao Huilin in the face with his backhand, and Zhao Huilin’s left cheek quickly swelled, tears streaming down her face. She wanted to cry but didn’t dare.

What kind of situation was this?

Lu Muchi’s gaze swept over the bodyguard, a hint of anger on his face, “Are you looking to die? Follow me!”

The bodyguard’s eyes flickered, “It was the master’s order…”

Lu Muchi swallowed his words, then refocused on Yan Heqing, forcing out a few venomous words from his throat, “Have you thought it through? Leave, or stay here?”

Yan Heqing remained expressionless as he pulled out his phone from his pocket, displaying an ongoing call to 110.

In front of Lu Muchi, he held the phone to his ear and calmly said, “Did you hear that? The address is…”

Lu Muchi’s dark eyes flashed with disbelief at Yan Heqing’s actions. Then, he released Yan Heqing and stepped back, doubling over in laughter. He genuinely found it amusing, his eyes even welling up with tears.

It seemed he had encountered something novel.

Lu Muchi leaned leisurely against the balcony door, his long legs casually crossed. From his coat pocket, he pulled out a pack of cigarettes, drew one out, lit it, and placed it in his mouth.

“Alright,” he said, taking a drag and slowly exhaling a smoke ring. “I’ll wait with you.”

He chuckled lightly, “And them?” he added, referring to the others. “Are they going to wait with me too?”

This remark was directed at his bodyguards.

The bodyguards, sensing their master’s anger, quickly bowed their heads in submission. “Return to your rooms,” one of them ordered, releasing Yan Shengbing.

Yan Shengbing, no longer daring to make a fuss, called out to Zhao Huilin, “Hurry up and help me back to the room!”

His voice was much softer now.

Zhao Huilin, eager to leave as quickly as possible, shoved the money she had picked up into the pocket of her pajama pants and rushed over to help.

Both Yan Shengbing and Yan Feng were overweight, and Zhao Huilin couldn’t manage to support him on her own. She had to call out to Yan Feng, “Fengfeng, come help!”

Yan Feng, however, remained frozen, not moving an inch. Zhao Huilin anxiously turned to look at him and noticed a large wet spot on his pant leg.

Yan Feng, at 12 years old, still couldn’t hold his bladder.

Zhao Huilin, feeling both helpless and heartbroken, forced herself to drag Yan Shengbing up while pulling Yan Feng with her other hand, and together they returned to the bedroom.

The bodyguards quietly slipped away as well.

The only sound left in the room was the clicking of the lighter.
