When Qin Cheng was woken up by the nurse again, he surprisingly felt less embarrassed this time. As he got out of bed, he lamented that his thick skin was improving faster than his grades.
“I’m going to the bathroom,” Qin Cheng said, rubbing his neck, which had gotten stiff from sleeping.
“Mn,” Jian Heng replied.
Qin Cheng first went downstairs to pay the hospital fees with the card that Tan Qi had brought him, and only then did he head back upstairs to the restroom.
When he came out of the restroom, he suddenly caught a faint fruity scent, like oranges, sweet to the point of being cloying and uncomfortable.
Qin Cheng’s first reaction was to wonder which Alpha’s pheromone was so unique; it was hard to imagine how this person could use their pheromones to dominate others.
Be careful, or Laozi will sweeten you to death!
Lost in thought and amusing himself, Qin Cheng’s lips curled up as he closed the door and walked out, the scent suddenly becoming more intense.
Qin Cheng furrowed his brows, sensing something was off.
Just as he turned his head, a white figure burst through the restroom door and rushed towards him. Qin Cheng’s pupils constricted; the nerves that had been tense for the past couple of days prompted him to swiftly sidestep to avoid the collision.
The white figure couldn’t stop in time and crashed straight into the wall, making a ‘thud’ sound that was painful just to hear.
It wasn’t until the person slowly slid down the wall that Qin Cheng could see clearly; this height and aura definitely indicated they were an Omega.
He actually caught the scent of an Omega’s pheromones!
Qin Cheng’s first reaction wasn’t joy that his Omega pheromone insensitivity had miraculously healed, but but rather that the Alpha pheromone compatibility syndrome had mutated.
The Omega before him seemed to be experiencing a sudden heat, looking at Qin Cheng with an almost □□ naked gaze, eyes glistening with moisture, and an overwhelming sense of desire written all over him.
Indeed, for an Omega, a top-tier Alpha like Qin Cheng would be their first choice when they lose control——without a moment’s hesitation.
Qin Cheng instinctively took two steps back and shouted for a doctor several times, but the restroom was somewhat secluded, and there was hardly anyone around; his calls were in vain.
Finally, gritting his teeth and stomping his foot, he walked over, braving the overwhelming Omega pheromones, and asked from two meters away: “Did you bring any inhibitors?”
Do other Alphas feel the same way when they smell an Omega’s pheromones? He didn’t feel tempted and unable to resist at all; instead, he felt extremely uncomfortable, wishing he could run as far away as possible.
Looking at Tan Qi, who always seems to be enjoying himself as if he just hit the jackpot, it doesn’t seem like he’s pretending. Wasn’t his condition supposed to be cured? It seemed to have worsened instead; it would be better if he couldn’t smell anything at all.
Tears streamed down the Omega’s face as he shook his head slightly, looking particularly helpless.
Qin Cheng couldn’t just leave him there. Gritting his teeth, he pulled the person into his arms, his tone sounding as if he were about to make a heroic sacrifice: “You better not move; I’m holding back.” After all, they didn’t know each other well; if he struck with a knife, wouldn’t he had to pay for it?
The Omega thought he meant he was holding back from marking him. He nod with tears in his eyes, his voice trembling: “Thank you…”
Qin Cheng was worried about the mutation on his side and hoped nothing would happen to Jian Heng. He strode out, taking a moment to reply: “No pū rào bō le mù1no撲繞播了木 (no pū rào bō le mù): lit. no threw the wood around. T/N: OMG!!! I can’t believe I didn’t immediately understand what QC mean by this!!! I thought this was some Chinese slang or something. I wasted so much time researching what this words means while it turns out this is only a broken English… 🙃 Just kill me.…”
The fierce pronunciation immediately stunned the Omega.
As soon as Qin Cheng stepped out of the restroom, his heart suddenly skipped a beat, and his arms went weak, almost causing him to collapse to the ground.
The susceptible period!
After all this fuss, it’s been over ten minutes!
It’s over.
Qin Cheng’s breathing became heavy, his eyes instantly turning a deep red, with every cell in his body screaming ‘Jian Heng‘, ‘Jian Heng‘, ‘Jian Heng‘.
The intense scent of damp wood mixed with the sharp aroma of tobacco erupted wildly, causing Qin Cheng to abruptly paused, struggling to control his pheromones from spreading too widely.
But he forgot that he was holding an Omega who was currently in heat.
The pheromones of a top Alpha are usually a deadly attraction, let alone now. The boy couldn’t take it anymore. He bit his lip as he looked at him, his voice trembling with a hint of tears as he pleaded: “Please, just give me a temporary mark, okay?”
The boy was beautiful, with soft and lovely features, and his pheromones were sweet. When his big eyes, glistening with tears, looked at you, no Alpha could bring themselves to say no.
Only Qin-ge could.
Among completely unfamiliar people, the only one who could bite back without hesitation is Jian Heng. Qin Cheng forced himself to move forward. His throat was dry and hoarse, and he gritted his teeth and said word by word: “I’ll send you to the doctor.”
This time it was really freaking awesome again. After talking to Tan Qi, Tan Qi had to give him two banners——one reading ‘Ruthless Alpha’, and the other ‘Politely Declining Online’.
Qin Cheng staggered his way to the hall, feeling like he was regressing; the once formidable Dad Qin, who could easily throw someone over his shoulder with one hand, was now trembling at the knees while holding a small Omega.
Just a little further and he would be able to see people. Qin Cheng encouraged himself. He could immediately throw this Omega aside and find Jian Heng; just hold on a little longer, just one——
The Omega in his arms, seemingly out of nowhere, suddenly mustered some strength, lifting his head, his lips clearly aiming for Qin Cheng’s mouth.
Qin Cheng forcefully turned his head, but his lips still landed on his chin.
With a ‘thud’, Qin Cheng could no longer hold on, and the two of them fell together.
The sound finally attracted a few nurses, who hurriedly took Omega away, leaving one behind to ask him if he had any questions.
Qin Cheng covered his mouth and waved his hand vigorously, stumbling as he got up and ran towards the ward.
He had no other questions.
He just wanted to vomit, really badly.
Maybe he was reaching his limit; his stomach was churning, and every part of him screamed how fucking disgusted he felt. The kind of disgust that made him wish he could go back to a few minutes ago when he could have just ignored that Omega.
Qin Cheng frantically rubbed the spot where the Omega had kissed him with one hand, not even feeling the skin break.
The moment Qin Cheng pushed open the hospital room door and saw Jian Heng, tears almost fell from his eyes. Jian Heng looked normal; Jian Heng was fine.
That’s great.
“Qin—” Before Jian Heng could finish his words, Qin Cheng had already rushed towards him. He bury his head into the side of Jian Heng’s neck, desperately inhaling the scent of the pheromones, a faint scent that only he could detect.
“Pheromones…” Qin Cheng’s whole body was trembling, his voice shaking as he gritted his teeth and whispered: “Jian Heng… pheromones!”
Jian Heng didn’t ask what was wrong; the overwhelming pheromones surged in an instant. Qin Cheng paused for a moment, then the next second, he opened his mouth and bit down on his neck.
Jian Heng didn’t resist, indulgently tilting his head to expose the gland in front of him.
Qin Cheng’s eyes turned red, and he bit down hard.
A faint metallic scent filled the air; Jian Heng furrowed his brow in pain, yet he didn’t move an inch.
The nurse was taken aback; she was a Beta and couldn’t smell the pheromones, but she could sense the madness of these two people.
Jing Heng shot her a cold glance, and the nurse quickly tidied up her things and left, understanding the situation.
Qin Cheng bit down for almost half an hour before he felt like he had come back to life. The sweet, cloying scent of oranges was gone, replaced by the cold scent of incense that enveloped him, merging wildly with the damp wood. The warm scent of burning firewood brought a sense of calm.
Qin Cheng slowly released his grip, his breathing still heavy, the warm air he exhaled misting against Jian Heng’s neck, leaving a small patch of moist heat.
Jian Heng put his hand on the back of his neck and rubbed it in a soothing manner, “What’s wrong?”
Qin Cheng realized that he actually felt quite wronged inside.
Come to think of it, he was a big A, but he was molested by an Omega; no one would believe it even if he told them.
But Jian Heng would definitely believe him.
Qin Cheng lay half on the bed, resting his head on Jian Heng’s arm as he recounted what had just happened, his tone laced with lingering fear and disgust.
“You didn’t see it, that Omega suddenly wanted to kiss me. I couldn’t even free my hands to dodge. Damn it, I still feel awful thinking about it now,” Qin Cheng rubbed his chin against his arm vigorously, as if trying to cover the spot where he was kissed with his pheromones, mumbling continuously like a tune, “So uncomfortable, so uncomfortable…”
“Qin Cheng,” Jian Heng called out to him.
Qin Cheng raised his head and leaned in: “Hmm?”
Jian Heng suddenly reached out and pressed his hand against the back of his head, kissing him lightly on the chin. Before Qin Cheng could react, Jian Heng’s lips were already on his.
This kiss was different from the madness of last night; it was gentle from start to finish, softly pressing against his lips, with Jian Heng’s tongue soothingly exploring, filled with Jian Heng’s scent.
Qin Cheng felt so comfortable that he didn’t even remember when he had closed his eyes. When they finally pulled apart, Jian Heng squeezed his gland and asked in a low voice, “Feeling better?”
Qin Cheng nodded, still a bit dazed, “Much better…”
“I thought Omega pheromones would smell at least pleasant, if not particularly attractive, just like perfume,” Qin Cheng sighed, resignedly nudging his arm, and said in a muffled voice: “Why does it have to be so unbearable? Alas, I’m afraid I won’t be able to look directly at the little sweet O’s anymore; the smell makes my kidneys hurt.”
“Not planning to get married?” Jian Heng glanced at him.
Qin Cheng stiffened, awkwardly clearing his throat as he realized the situation: “No rush, no rush.”
Just a moment ago, he had dashed back like a little cub that had been bullied outside, seeking comfort in Jian Heng’s embrace, and even let him kiss him. It was one thing to be kissed, especially since he had kissed back last night, but the key point was that after the kiss, he even gave his thoughts on it.
Although he was speaking the truth——when Jian Heng kissed him, it was nothing but pleasant; when a stranger Omega kissed him, he felt like throwing up. But he couldn’t let that show on his face.
Qin Cheng couldn’t help but wonder if the Alpha pheromone compatibility syndrome was forcing him to keep himself as pure as jade…
Thinking this, he accidentally blurted it out, and Jian Heng raised an eyebrow: “Keep yourself as pure as jade for me?”
“Ah,” Qin Cheng felt his face heat up, “I was just saying it casually.”
Jian Heng lightly brushed his thumb over Qin Cheng’s lips, his voice carrying a hint of laughter: “Keep it up.”
“I…” Qin Cheng’s mind went blank, “Thank you for the encouragement?”
Fuck it.
Jian Heng’s lips curled up, and he asked with particular consideration: “Do you need a reward?”
“No,” Qin Cheng raised his hand to cover his eyes, feeling a deep sense of self-contempt rising within him, “…I just need some quiet.”
Jian Heng didn’t say anything. He took Qin Cheng’s hand and kissed the knuckle of his ring finger gently, the pressure so light it felt like a feather brushing against it. With his eyelids half-closed, his expression was particularly serious, as if he were engaged in some kind of romantic ritual that asked for nothing in return.
Qin Cheng’s mind went blank with a ‘bang’, his hand instinctively shrank back but didn’t pull away.
The straight man never thought that the plot of such an idol drama would happen to him one day, and he was still the one being kissed.
The straight man was stunned, his head buried in confusion. The straight man didn’t want to face the fact that he didn’t actually dislike Jian Heng doing this.
In fact, Qin Cheng wanted to talk to Jian Heng about the susceptible period; this constant back and forth isn’t a solution, they needs to examine it.
But right now, all he could do was blush and have his heart race; Jian Heng seemed like an unapproachable iceberg, but when it came to flirting, that iceberg was even more intense than a fucking volcano.
He’s about to melt.
Just when the two were playing a game of hide and seek on the surface, but in reality, they were already entangled and unable to part, the door to the ward was knocked on again.
The knocking was particularly urgent; Qin Cheng could even hear the sound of the nurse trying to block someone outside, and the other voice was familiar to him.
“Shao Ze and Cheng Bin.” Jian Heng said.
“Ah? Holy shit!” Qin Cheng stood up in shock, like a cheating lover caught in the act, quickly smoothing out his blanket. The marks on his neck were too obvious, and he tried to cover them with his clothes, but was stopped by him.
Jian Heng couldn’t help but want to laugh at the sight, and with a smile in his eyes, he said: “No, it’s not necessary.”
In fact, Qin Cheng also felt it was unnecessary; those two aren’t stupid, and hiding it like this would only make those two more curious. It would be better to just leave it as it is.
Look, I bit him. Jian-ge didn’t resist at all; he did it willingly. If you don’t accept it, go ahead and hit me.
Qin Cheng, resign to his fate, opened the door with a crash, only to bump into the sullen-faced Shao Ze.
Shao Ze’s gaze towards him was extremely unfriendly, which in Qin Cheng’s eyes was practically a declaration of war.
A fake smile curled at the corners of Qin Cheng’s mouth.
You don’t like Dad Qin? What a coincidence, Dad Qin also wants to punch you into the air.
And you still fucking dare to buy a ticket for Jian Heng? If he really left that day, the first person he would beat up be would Jian Heng, and the second one would be Shao Ze.
