SPDO Chapter 46

After the meal, Qin Cheng and Jian Heng tidied up at his house for a while before heading out to find his mom.

Jian Heng had been lying down for a week, and Qin Cheng felt worse than if he were the one injured; he lost a bit of weight in the process.

Before pushing the door open, Qin Cheng turned back to him and said: “Just say that I’m tired from live streaming for a week.”

Jian Heng held the door open for him and glanced at him: “That’s quite a good excuse.”

Qin Cheng took a deep breath, activated his acting skills, and walked in.

Having called ahead, Song Yingmei was in the kitchen preparing dinner. Qin Cheng’s lips curled into a smile as he rushed into the kitchen like a gust of wind, his voice arriving before he did: “Mom! What are we having for dinner tonight?”

Song Yingmei turned around with a face full of surprise, quickly putting down what she was holding to greet her son. She looked him over, touched his head, and frowned with concern: “Why are you doing another joint livestream? You must be exhausted; you’ve lost weight.”

“Lost weight?” Qin Cheng lowered his head to let her touch him more, lying through his teeth, “Is it because of the black clothes? I feel like I’ve actually gained weight.”

Song Yingmei was about to speak when Jian Heng walked in: “Auntie Song.”

Parents often have a habit of thinking that a child with good grades is a well-behaved and obedient kid, and Song Yingmei was no exception. After observing Jian Heng for over a month, she immediately noticed the change: “I haven’t seen you for a week, and you’ve lost weight. Have you been studying too hard?”

Jian Heng and Qin Cheng exchanged a glance, and Qin Cheng mouthed: My mom is amazing.

Jian Heng smiled and said: “I caught a cold last week, so I didn’t dare come over.”

“No wonder you’ve lost weight. Auntie will make you some meat for a few days to make up for it,” Song Yingmei said as she turned around and took a bag of ribs from the fridge. “If you boys eat a few good meals, you’ll gain it back. Just eat less junk food. If you’re craving something, Auntie Song will make it for you.”

“Thank you, Auntie Song.” Jian Heng enjoyed this simple warmth, standing at the door with a gentle gaze.

“No need to stand on ceremony with your Auntie Song,” Song Yingmei said, looking at the two of them with a satisfied smile. She was happy that her son had a close friend. “Go back to the room with Xiao Cheng and rest for a while. I’ll call you when it’s ready.”

When Qin Cheng closed the door, he suddenly felt a strong urge to lock it from the inside. Although he definitely couldn’t just suddenly hug Jian Heng and start nibbling on him, he really wanted to.

To have the two of them alone in a small space, just snuggling up together, able to kiss whenever they wanted.

Just thinking about it made him feel hot.

Qin Cheng couldn’t help but sigh. When would this situation come to an end? The cycle of fate is indeed fair; now it’s his turn to feel anxious and restless.

Was Jian Heng even more anxious than he was when he saw him being so clueless?

The image of Jian Heng frowning appeared in his mind, and Qin Cheng felt a warmth in his lower abdomen. How could this person be so attractive in every way!

“Is the door broken?” Jian Heng sat on the bed, looking at him.

“No,” Qin Cheng touched his nose and closed the door, wanting to say; the door is fine, but I’m going to suffocate, “Classes start tomorrow; is that okay?”

“No problem,” Jian Heng patted the bed, signaling him to sit closer. “Is there something on your mind?”

Qin Cheng pretended to be casual, sitting down next to him. His mind was racing, and he said: “There is.”

“What is it?” Jian Heng asked.

“I haven’t streamed for a week, and the platform boss asked me to make a vlog, just capturing a day in my life or something. The day after tomorrow is Saturday; will you accompany me for a stroll?” Qin Cheng felt that this was the peak of his acting skills in this lifetime, because Jian Heng only pondered for less than a second with his eyes down before nodding.

Qin Cheng suddenly felt a bit proud; such an outstanding person was always there to fulfill his requests! Hey! At this moment, there should be a crowd watching, expressing how delicious the dog food is!

Where is Tan Qi?

“Alright, it’s just right; we can take a two-day break,” Qin Cheng said as he opened the blanket on the bed. “You should lie down for a bit; after all this fuss, I almost forgot you’re the one who’s injured.”

Jian Heng chuckled, took off his coat and shoes, and lay down. He turned his head to ask him: “Are you going to stream today?”

The corner of the blanket was held in Qin Cheng’s hand, so Jian Heng’s lower body was covered while the upper half, dressed in a black sweater, was exposed. Because of the high temperature in the room, his long, slender fingers tugged at the collar, revealing a glimpse of his collarbone, which was quickly concealed again as the movement came to an end.

Qin Cheng stared intently like a hungry wolf, only reluctantly pulling his gaze away when he could no longer see anything. He swallowed discreetly and said seriously: “I’m streaming tonight. Aren’t you tired wearing so many clothes to sleep? Take them off. You can wear my pajamas while eating; there’s no need to stand on ceremony with your Auntie Song.”

Perhaps he acted even more mischievously in the hospital than he does now. Jian Heng had no doubts; he sat up, casually pinched the collar of his sweater, and pulled it off, his movements effortless yet exuding a hidden sensuality.

When the sight of well-defined muscles and tanned skin entered his view, Qin Cheng regretted it.

Why was Jian Heng not wearing anything underneath?

He just wanted to tease him a bit, not to stand at attention.

Feeling a warmth in his nose, Qin Cheng quickly turned his head, pretending he was about to use the computer, while his index finger swiftly brushed under his nose.

Very good, there was no nosebleed; Qin-ge’s composure is still intact.

“Lend me a pair of pajama pants.” Jian Heng’s voice suddenly came from behind him, almost brushing against his ear. Qin Cheng even felt a soft sensation flicker past the tip of his ear…

Qin Cheng jolted and turned around abruptly.

Jian Heng stood behind him bare-chested. Seeing his reaction, a hint of amusement danced in his eyes. He raised a hand and pinched the tip of Qin Cheng’s ear, his voice very close: “So, can I borrow them?”

“Borrow…” Qin Cheng struggled to keep his gaze from drifting downward. Jian Heng’s pants were on the bed, so the view below was something he couldn’t handle——not when he felt like a helpless little thing turned into a leek spirit.

However, once his mind took flight and his thoughts went awry, he couldn’t control anything anymore. At that moment, there was only one voice left in his heart: Don’t mention pajamas; I can lend you anything, the kind you can use freely.

Jian Heng looked at him: “You’re bleeding from your nose.”

“Ah?” Qin Cheng hadn’t reacted yet, looking completely bewildered as he walked to the wardrobe to rummage for his pajamas. “What bleeding?”

“Nosebleed.” Jian Heng repeated.

“Ah, nosebleed? Ah? Holy shit! Really?” Qin Cheng tossed aside his pajamas and frantically wiped his face, but there was nothing on his hands. His face instantly turned red, then he started to feel hot, and after that, he felt a mix of shame and anger. “Student Jian Heng, you’ve learned to be bad! How could you lie to me like this?”

Jian Heng picked up the pajamas that Qin Cheng had thrown on the floor, first putting on his pants, then holding up his shirt and glancing at him: “Why can’t I?”

“Because you——” like me.

In the pure and innocent Qin’s worldview, if you like someone, you must unconditionally treat that person well, just like him——loyal to love and devoted to the beloved, cherishing them as if they were delicate, fearing they might melt if you hold them in your mouth or break if you hold them in your hands, prioritizing the other person above all else, and putting oneself in a secondary position.

Not telling a lie is practically a small detail that doesn’t even count as a standard.

But Qin Cheng didn’t say it out loud because he felt guilty. It took him so long to realize that Jian Heng had been pursuing him, and he felt he had lost too much. When he was facing Jian Heng, he felt very insecure and couldn’t even bring up topics of affection: “Because you’re smarter than me, you have to give in to me. That way, your Qin-ge will be happy, and when Qin-ge is happy, he will protect you, allowing you to walk, lie down, jump, and fly freely in the Fifth High School…”

Jian Heng put on his pajamas and scoffed as he walked past him: “I want to hold you.”

Boom!!!!

Qin Cheng bit his teeth, trying hard to suppress the urge to pounce. Inside, he was shouting: Hug! Hug tightly! Qin-ge absolutely won’t resist! Come on! Hug! Hug to your heart’s content! This person is so damn flirty; it’s making him stand at attention! Come take advantage of the situation! Qin-ge won’t move; you come quickly!

The way of heaven is fair, and the heavens spare no one. Jian Heng couldn’t hear his cries. Even wearing a deep blue pajama set covered in little bears, he still couldn’t hide his cool demeanor. He effortlessly tossed the blanket aside and lay down, pulling it over himself in one smooth motion.

Qin Cheng didn’t even get to see a single slice of meat!

Frustrated, Qin-ge gritted his teeth, grabbed a pair of underwear, and headed straight to the bathroom.

With the weather at the end of October, Qin Cheng hesitated for a moment before turning on the hot water.

When the slightly scalding water poured over him, it felt like a bucket of oil had been splashed on him. A fleeting image of Jian Heng without clothes flashed through his mind, instantly igniting every restless nerve.

Qin Cheng let out a sigh, wiped his face, and felt a mix of sorrow while ‘working’.

Before meeting Jian Heng, Qin Cheng could be considered a campus male god with a clear mind and few desires. Now, he had fallen to the point where just a glance made him want to be ‘self-sufficient’.

Was Jian Heng toxic, or had his first eighteen years been so bland that now these days felt like true youth?

It really was, too fucking youthful.

As Qin Cheng washed his hands, he sighed: “It’s all the breath of youth, fuck.”

When he returned, Jian Heng had fallen asleep. Qin Cheng carefully sat down next to him while drying his hair.

No matter how small the bed at home is, it’s still bigger than the one in the hospital. At least it allows them to lie side by side with some extra space to shift around——mainly him shifting, since Jian Heng sleeps particularly soundly and hardly ever moves. If he does move, it’s usually because Qin Cheng needs to change positions, and Jian Heng pulls him back.

Qin Cheng casually wiped himself down a couple of times, and he couldn’t help but lie down next to him.

After a week of tough days, they finally found the time to snuggle together and get some sleep, and Qin Cheng couldn’t bear to waste a single moment.

Jian Heng in front of him suddenly opened his eyes. Looking at his hair still dripping with water, he frowned and said: “Blow your hair dry.”

“Blow what? It’ll dry naturally in a bit,” Qin Cheng was reluctant to move, pushing himself deeper into the blankets. Jian Heng had a high body temperature, and sleeping in the same bed with him was particularly enjoyable for Qin Cheng, who naturally had cold hands and feet. He began to blindly make up nonsense, “The hairdryer is bad for your hair; the more you use it, the balder you’ll get. You should use it less.”

“I don’t use it,” Jian Heng said, raising a hand to touch his hair, which was damp. He simply sat up, pulled Qin Cheng up with him, and then pushed him down to the ground. “Want to catch a cold? Blow it dry.”

As soon as Jian Heng touched the warm, cozy blanket, he was abruptly pushed out by a ruthless hand. Qin Cheng gave him the middle finger, dissatisfied: “Tomorrow, I’ll shave my head just like yours, so I won’t have to worry about blowing it dry.”

“I have hair,” Jian Heng leaned against the headboard and looked at him, “You dare to try shaving?”

“This student,” Qin Cheng paused with the hairdryer in hand, turned around, and pointed at him, “Come on, if you’re not convinced, let’s have a go. I’ve been wanting to practice with you for a while; let’s see who’s tougher.”

Jian Heng’s gaze was indifferent as he turned his head to look at him and said nonchalantly: “Bring it on.”

Qin Cheng paused for a few seconds, then decisively turned around and picked up a hairdryer to start blowing his hair. His voice, muffled by the buzzing sound of the dryer: “Not fighting with the injured.”

Qin Cheng felt a mix of dissatisfaction and curiosity. Why couldn’t he shave his head? He was so handsome and charming; even if he shaved it all off, he would definitely still be a good-looking egg1鹵蛋 (lǔ dàn): spiced corned egg; braised egg. Jian Heng’s hairstyle was indeed cool, but of course, most people who tried that style would probably lack Jian Heng’s charisma and end up looking like thugs.

But Qin-ge has the confidence that he doesn’t look like a thug.

Like Jian Heng’s boyfriend.

The corner of Qin Cheng’s mouth couldn’t help but curled up; he didn’t even know why he was so silly and happy, but just thinking about it made his heart swell with sweetness.

After drying his hair halfway, Qin Cheng impatiently set down the hairdryer: “Is that enough? It’ll dry in a bit anyway, and it’s making me really hot.”

Jian Heng hummed in response.

Qin Cheng felt his hair——still a bit damp——and like a dog, he shook himself vigorously a couple of times, as if he could really dry it that way. Satisfied, he climbed into bed and lay down next to him.

“Hey, do you know?” Qin Cheng lay down flat for less than a second, then immediately turned to lie on his side to look at him.

“Know what?” Jian Heng also lay down and turned to look at him.

Qin Cheng reached out and seriously touched his chest, then left his hand there without moving, his tone even more serious: “Your body temperature is really high; I want to warm my hands.”
