TTCOTE Chapter 15

Full of Personality, Sis Likes It!

The alluring beauty with eyes brimming with emotion, the intimate setting of the carriage, the lingering gazes, and the heartfelt confession – you can practically feel the playful and flirtatious energy in the air.

In the realm of romantic encounters, the usual script involves some delightful rolling around – not just once, but maybe a few times until a mini version of themselves is playfully revealed.

In a more subtle dance of emotions, there’s a delightful mix of resistance and acceptance, a teasing back-and-forth that promises a home run after a few playful rounds.

And for those who prefer a touch of subtlety? Well, subtlety takes a back seat when it comes to matters of the heart, especially when dealing with the complex nature of men.

Jing Hengbo exudes confidence in her charm, finely tuning her gaze, movements, body language, and expressions – all part of her meticulously trained repertoire! According to her trusty “Mastering Men Handbook,” Chapter Three, Section Eighteen, analyzing those seemingly pristine yet secretly mischievous men reveals the charming dance of a pseudo-gentleman. The more virtuous on the surface, the more intriguingly wild within – adhering strictly to moral norms while harboring playful freedom inside!

All she needs is that focused gaze, a dash of grace in her posture, and an enthusiastic expression, subtly laced with an invitation…

One, two, three…

The man in white made a move.

He lifted his hand, grabbed her as if she were a piece of dried fish, and surveyed her from top to bottom, commenting, “With such a wide body, I think it should be enough.”

Huh?

Wide body?

Jing Hengbo blinked, taking quite some time to realize he was talking about her.

What? I have a big body?

I have a protruding front | protruding back | curved figure, with a figure that’s fiery and three-dimensional, showcasing curves that are both charming and slender – and you dare call this a big body?

Wide my foot!

“Wide my foot!” she thought and almost said out loud.

The man in white reversed his grip, causing her to turn around. Jing Hengbo’s face was pressed against the window of the carriage, her whole person flattening against it. Just as she was about to struggle, there was a sliding sound behind her, followed by a loud thud as a hard object pressed firmly against her backside – judging by the feel, it was probably the small table he had leaned against just now.

The cold wind blew on her face, tousling her eyelashes. It took Jing Hengbo quite a while to realize that this unromantic fellow had used her to block the window! Her figure perfectly filled the window, not allowing a breeze to penetrate.

No wonder he said, “It should be enough!”

Enough!

Wasn’t it just a little confession for the sake of beauty? Did he have to expose her like this to block the window for everyone to see?

Pressed tightly from behind, unable to move, Jing Hengbo looked back in frustration and saw Cuijie pointing at her and shouting inside the carriage. The little girl had a bewildered expression, while Jingyin, no longer showing signs of illness, sat up straight, staring at her as if she were a ghost. The bird, as if possessed, walked back and forth on the crossbar, loudly composing poetry, “In the bright daylight, clothes are gone, the Yellow River flows into the sea, a pair of big bosoms, resembling a flower-patterned dairy cow.”

After a brief moment of frustration, Jing Hengbo gave up. Beautiful people are always a bit tricky, especially those with high status and authority.

In one second, she forgave the beautiful man and prepared for the next step of her relentless pursuit (teasing). The next second, she heard a light “bang.”

“Whoosh.” An arrow suddenly shot out from the roadside bushes, with a dark gleam like lightning, heading straight for her forehead!

“Help—”

“Chirp.” A hand behind her swiftly tore her away from the window, and with the other hand, snatched the arrow out of the air.

The carriage surged forward and came to a stop. Footsteps hurriedly approached the carriage; it was the guards from outside.

Jing Hengbo, still startled, lay on the small table. She heard the skinny man reporting urgently from outside, “Master, there are people on the left side using silk ropes to shoot arrows. From the traces, there are about three or four highly skilled individuals.”

The man in white nodded, lifted her up, tossed her aside, and took out a snow-white handkerchief, wiping his hands and cleaning the table. He casually glanced outside the carriage window.

“That’s it.” He said, paused, and then added, “This time, let’s go.”

The skinny man took his orders and left. The sound of hooves approached, and a large group of people galloped past the carriage.

After thinking for a moment, Jing Hengbo decided not to teleport away for now. With bandits nearby, it wasn’t safe.

She thought for a while and vaguely understood. When the horse was startled earlier, it was just the enemy’s probing. The enemy wanted to lure away the guards by scaring the horses, leaving the carriage with insufficient protection for an attack. The seemingly indifferent but cunning guy did not fall for it. He only sent two people to investigate. Later, when he hung her out of the window, it indeed attracted the enemy to reveal their true intentions. That’s when he ordered the main force to chase them down and eliminate the threat.

In other words, did this guy guess that she was the target the enemy was after and intentionally exposed her?

Truly a ruthless, cunning, and cold-hearted beautiful man!

The man in white ignored her and continued to look at the map. Jing Hengbo thought for a while about who the enemy that appeared out of nowhere should be. After much deliberation, he thought that if he was not a bandit, he was an enemy of Gong Dashen. Anyway, it was none of her business.

Seeing the man’s slender fingers and the snow-white wrist exposed from the sleeve, delicate as snow-covered bamboo, confidently and calmly holding the map at the edge, she couldn’t help but feel itchy. Once again, she lazily leaned over, sprawled on the small table he had just cleaned, raised an eyebrow, and smiled as she flipped through his map. She saw the bright red small seal script on it, tilted her head, and read, “…Palace… Meat?”

The corner of the man’s eye seemed to twitch.

Jing Hengbo thought something was off, changed her angle, and read it again, “…Lü… Meat?”

The man in white’s eyebrows trembled.

The man in white’s eyebrows trembled.

“…Zhou… Yue?” Jing Hengbo tilted her head, feeling that this font was truly magical—when viewed horizontally, it looked like a mountain range, and when viewed from the side, it resembled peaks, with differences in height and distance.

“Snap.” The album closed with a flick of the man’s long fingers, and he pushed her chin away. “Gong Yin!”

“Oh!” Jing Hengbo smiled, her eyes brightening. “Little Yin Yin! What a nice name!” She grabbed his finger with her hand and said, “Can I read your palm for you? Wow, it seems like you have a broken palm…”

Gong Yin flicked his finger, hitting her chin with a thud. Jing Hengbo winced slightly in pain. After the pain, she suddenly felt an itch. The corner of her eye seemed to catch something diving into her chin.

Jing Hengbo hurriedly tried to catch it, but her skin was smooth, and she couldn’t catch anything. She raised her finger in confusion and found a tiny gold thread sticking to her fingertip, like silk and mucus, not knowing where it came from.

“What is this?” She felt a bit uneasy.

Gong Yin withdrew his hand, casually pulled down another snowy white cloth from the roof of the carriage, and slowly wiped his fingers, then tossed it away. There were about ten such cloths hanging on the horizontal bars on the roof, and half of them were already used up. Jing Hengbo’s usage speed had increased dramatically since she entered the carriage.

“Soul-binding spider,” he said. “It seems that His Majesty possesses unique skills. However, it’s better not to use this unique skill from now on. The soul-binding spider is twofold, each with its host. They communicate without form or shadow. Now one spider is with me, and one is with His Majesty. As long as His Majesty moves three yards away from my side, the soul-binding spider on my side will give a warning, and the one on your side will release poison, emitting poisonous gas to guide me to find you. If His Majesty doesn’t want to be found dead by me, it’s better to behave.”

He dragged the small table over again and placed it in front of him. He tapped his fingers on the black tabletop, and the reflection was like bamboo.
It was the first time that Jing Hengbo heard him say so many words, but his heart went cold. He touched his chin, thinking that there was a spider hidden in his chin, and felt creepy.
“Did you lie to me?” she said, staring into his eyes earnestly, “What about soul-fixing spiders, what kind of poisons, and magic? They are all used by people in the world to deceive people with stories made up of ghost novels. Bar?”
Gong Yin glanced at her lightly, “Maybe.”
