VFMESR Chapter 28.2

The next day, Zheng Ziang prepared various herbs and materials, feeling a bit nervous. However, he’d reviewed some knowledge in the past few days and believed he should do fine. After all, despite His Majesty’s S-class spiritual power, he couldn’t attack him like a fully healthy person. It shouldn’t be that difficult.

Guided by palace attendants, Zheng Ziang traveled across the magnificent royal palace, arriving at the main hall of His Majesty. This marked his second visit to the royal palace, an experience that would become part of his daily life.

At the palace gates, the steward signaled that His Majesty was waiting inside. Zheng Ziang took a deep breath, opened the doors, and entered the palace.

Inside the hall, there was no one except for a figure in a wheelchair against a black backdrop, patiently awaiting him.

Zheng Ziang saluted loudly, “Greetings, Your Majesty.”

Chu Wenyu opened his eyes, slowly turned his wheelchair, and emitted a powerful, intimidating aura. He noticed Zheng Ziang’s attire and his gaze turned even colder.

The suit had been personally designed by Chu Wenyu, with every detail meticulously planned. Observing the person before him wearing a suit that bore a remarkable resemblance to his design but somehow managed to look hideous, Chu Wenyu couldn’t help but chuckle.

“Your Majesty, shall we begin?” Zheng Ziang felt the intensity of Chu Wenyu’s piercing gaze and sensed a tingling sensation throughout his body, as if he were being stared down by a venomous snake. But apart from His Majesty’s rather bad temper, it didn’t seem too difficult from a spiritual power perspective.

Chu Wenyu’s voice was low and tinged with seduction, “Hmm, take off your coat.”

Faced with this unusual request, Zheng Ziang entertained a bold thought. He had previously wondered why His Majesty seemed so inclined towards Jiang Ling, a hostage. Could it be that His Majesty had a fondness for young alphas, and this was the reason for his current behavior?

Zheng Ziang wrestled with his thoughts for a moment, but he still favored Omegas. Yet, the thought of what life would be like once he attached himself to His Majesty made him decisively shed his coat, leaving only a thin white shirt.

Aware of his physique and good looks, he boldly approached Chu Wenyu. His gaze, somewhat hazy, swept over Chu Wenyu. He always behaved this way when flirting with omegas.

“Kneel,” Chu Wenyu commanded, holding a golden cane in his hand.

Zheng Ziang assumed His Majesty had some strange preference, so he knelt by His Majesty’s feet. Before he could utter a word, searing pain shot through his spine.

Instinctively, he wanted to dodge, but a powerful, almost terrifying spiritual force suppressed him, rendering him immobile. Instead, he felt his body constricting, with each passing moment exerting more pressure, threatening to turn him into mush.

Tears welled up immediately, and Zheng Ziang struggled to raise his head, only to discover a bloodthirsty smile on His Majesty’s face. The esteemed golden cane had already pierced into his back, and it showed no sign of stopping.

“Your Majesty, please, have mercy…” Zheng Ziang felt the intense pain in his back and realized his organs were being crushed. At this moment, his body was being turned inside out.

Helpless, his blank eyes stared as the golden cane slowly reached his heart, ruthlessly piercing through his flesh and bone.

Chu Wenyu, watching the scene unfold, displayed no apparent emotion; if anything, he seemed even more excited.

Zheng Ziang spat out a mouthful of blood. In a short amount of time, he could no longer utter a single word. His internal organs felt shattered, and his body had been turned inside out.

He stared blankly as the golden cane, drenched in blood, slowly sank into his heart. Then, without any mercy, it plunged deeper.

Chu Wenyu turned his head away in disgust, hearing Zheng Ziang’s feeble breaths. He knew he had gone too far but didn’t intend to let him die just yet.

Chu Wenyu’s cold gaze shifted to a nearby imitation suit. He seemed to mutter to himself, “A fool like you, how can you compare to him?”

He wheeled his chair toward the window, his tone casual, “Throw him into the death cells for me, but keep him alive. Can’t have him dying.”

“Announce to the public that the royal therapist has performed admirably and is staying at the palace for treatment.”

As the steward listened to His Majesty’s indifferent words, he looked at the man lying in a pool of blood. A gaping wound on his chest continued to ooze blood, sending shivers down his spine. It had been a long time since he had witnessed such a scene, not since Prince Jiang Ling arrived.

The steward didn’t know what had happened and dared not ask. He was afraid of getting entangled in trouble, so he quickly arranged for the scene to be cleaned up and any information sealed from spreading.

Chu Wenyu lay in his wheelchair, gazing out the window at the clear and beautiful day. He thought to himself as he forcefully reversed the flow of spiritual energy in his mind until his head pounded as if it might explode, and the taste of blood filled his throat.

“Tsk, a little sweet,” Chu Wenyu muttered weakly to himself as he sat in his wheelchair, his eyes, however, still bearing a fierce and ruthless expression.

By evening, Jiang Ling estimated the treatment had concluded, so he returned to the palace. He casually asked a nearby courtier, “How did the royal therapist perform today?”

He knew that Zheng Ziang was nothing but a sham, hoping to hear news of his dismissal or something similar. However, the courtier laughed and replied, “His Majesty is quite pleased with the therapist’s performance. Right now, the therapist is resting in another location.”

Jiang Ling furrowed his brows, feeling confused. He hurried into the palace to check on Chu Wenyu’s condition.

The hall was so quiet; Chu Wenyu sat by the window, eyes closed as if he’d drifted off to sleep. Jiang Ling sensed something off with his spiritual state, which had been fine just this morning. This couldn’t be considered a good recovery. He was worried that things might not be going as smoothly as he had hoped.

Without dwelling on past matters, Jiang Ling crouched beside Chu Wenyu, planning to investigate while he slept. But he immediately met Chu Wenyu’s open eyes.

“You’re back?” Chu Wenyu softly spoke, his voice raspy.

He was genuinely suffering, even though he could endure it. Seeing that face he hadn’t seen in a day made him feel somewhat wronged. If Alpha hadn’t been such a scoundrel, why would he have resorted to hurting himself with a feigned injury?

Chu Wenyu had been quiet these past few days, only occasionally showing signs of his earlier tyrannical self. Jiang Ling didn’t like it. But considering how intimate Chu Wenyu appeared with Zheng Ziang, he reprimanded himself for being presumptuous. Maybe His Majesty had just switched his target.

However, mixed feelings aside, he was still worried.

“I heard His Majesty had a good treatment today?” Jiang Ling inquired.

Chu Wenyu nodded, his intention to make Jiang Ling jealous and unable to bear it.

“Ziang is outstanding, and the treatment was quite comfortable,” Chu Wenyu fabricated.

Jiang Ling clenched his teeth. He couldn’t see how Chu Wenyu could find that comfortable. Did the villain have a sudden change of heart and was now deceiving himself? Jiang Ling respected Chu Wenyu’s feelings. While Chu Wenyu could explore alternatives, he just couldn’t ignore it.

Seeing that Alpha remained silent, Chu Wenyu felt uneasy and squeezed his fingers. “Maybe we will continue in the next few days.”

Jiang Ling reluctantly nodded. Well, if Chu Wenyu couldn’t let go of Zheng Ziang, he wouldn’t expose him. As for the issue of his spiritual state, he’d find a solution himself. He hoped to help the villain discover his true feelings.

Chu Wenyu closed his eyes, feeling a hint of moisture at the corners.

Late at night, Jiang Ling quietly entered Chu Wenyu’s room. He stared at Chu Wenyu’s face for a while, confirming that he was truly asleep, before gently sensing his spiritual state.

Upon touching Chu Wenyu’s spiritual energy, Jiang Ling furrowed his brows, perplexed. Spiritual energy disorders are usually scattered aimlessly during an outbreak, unlike this orderly reverse flow. It might be an unfamiliar condition.

Jiang Ling began guiding Chu Wenyu’s spiritual energy in the right direction. This episode was much better than the last, and he couldn’t understand why Zheng Ziang couldn’t handle it.

When Chu Wenyu’s spiritual energy finally returned to normal in his mind, Jiang Ling was about to lower his head to kiss Chu Wenyu’s chin but withdrew abruptly. He needed to sort out his own feelings. Doing this while Chu Wenyu had already moved on was just plain wrong.

However, he never anticipated that he was the one lagging behind.

Jiang Ling had considered telling Chu Wenyu about his own spiritual energy, but now it seemed irrelevant. The villain might even get upset about Zheng Ziang being a scoundrel. So, he’d continue to keep it a secret.

Jiang Ling gently touched the sleeping man’s face before returning to his own room.

The next morning, Chu Wenyu woke up feeling entirely relaxed, and the spiritual energy reverse flow had vanished. He sat up abruptly, pondering whether this man liked him or not. But one thing was sure: Jiang Ling would always find his way into his bed.

The author has something to say:

For people like Little Jiang, strong medicine is needed! But honestly, I like seeing Chu Chu working hard (covering my face).

Happy New Year, everyone! I wish you all the best in the new year!

My New Year’s wish is for no one to scold me when I wake up tomorrow!
