Yu Bai’s lips, perhaps, were the softest thing Ji Rongyu had ever touched in this world.

Threads of warmth intertwined with the aroma of plum wine.

Ji Rongyu hadn’t had a chance to regain his senses when Yu Bai’s hand softly supported him on the floor. He managed to prop himself up, albeit with difficulty.

Soft and tender, and exceptionally sweet.

Ji Rongyu’s gaze landed on the opening and closing sakura-pink lips of Yu Bai.

“I’ll go lower the heater…”

Yu Bai’s right hand grabbed Ji Rongyu’s upper arm, then slid down slowly along his arm.

He wanted to use the support to stand up.

However, Yu Bai, who was already drunk, had no strength left to stand up.

The moment Yu Bai tried to rise, he staggered.

“Be… careful.”

Ji Rongyu’s words were interrupted as Yu Bai tumbled and ended up seated on his lap.

They faced each other.

Yu Bai’s hands rested on Ji Rongyu’s shoulders, and his porcelain-like cheeks flushed with a noticeable pink hue.

“So dizzy.”

Yu Bai’s voice was unusually soft. He looked at Ji Rongyu, his tone a blend of coquetry that he himself hadn’t noticed.

“I can’t stand up. Could you lower the temperature a bit, please?”

As he looked at the Yu Bai seated in his embrace, Ji Rongyu’s body stiffened. His hands lay flat on the floor, unsure of where to place them.

“Ji Rongyu? Rongyu…”

Yu Bai’s words became increasingly incoherent as he softly called “Ji Rongyu” twice.

With their proximity, as Yu Bai breathed in and out, the sweet fragrance of plums between their lips and teeth lingered around Ji Rongyu’s nostrils.

This was the first time Ji Rongyu had seen Yu Bai in such a state of drunkenness.

Unlike his usual easygoing and gentle demeanor, the intoxicated Yu Bai, at this moment, resembled a soft, cuddly little white rabbit, coquettishly nestled in his embrace.

Yu Bai threw off the blanket in shock and was about to get up.

“My body is warm, I have a strong inner fire.” Ji Rongyu said, “I’ll hold you for a while, and you’ll warm up.”

Yu Bai and Ji Rongyu’s chests were separated by a thin layer of blanket.

Yet, Yu Bai felt as if he could hear the loud sound of their heartbeats resonating through their chests.

Inside the bathroom, Yu Bai’s muffled voice could be heard from beneath the covers.

“Let’s just forget about what happened between us yesterday.”

The smile on Ji Rongyu’s face froze for a moment, and his hands tightened around Yu Bai.

Ji Rongyu: “Why?”

Another moment of silence.

Ji Rongyu: “Is it because you’re worried about my arranged partner getting jealous?”

Yu Bai was taken aback, and he subconsciously asked, “How did you know?”

“Last night, you told me all about why you’ve been acting distant and upset towards me these days.” Ji Rongyu said, “That’s when I found out you’ve been misunderstanding me all this time…”

Yu Bai sullenly retorted, “I haven’t misunderstood you.”

“Who said you haven’t?” Ji Rongyu looked at Yu Bai in his embrace, “The person who called my name that day is my sister, who is related to me by blood. But I never thought that you would mistake her for my arranged partner…”

Yu Bai blinked.

So, the girl who affectionately called Ji Rongyu’s name over the phone that day turned out to be his sister? Is she a cousin or a more distant relative?

Ji Rongyu: “Sis, tell me that you’re my sister.”

All the way in the capital city, Ji Rongyu’s call disrupted his sister, who was still grumpy from being woken up, exclaimed irritably, “Ugh! I’m not your sister, I’m your dad! If you disturb my sleep again, I’ll come over with your brother-in-law and teach you a lesson about love…”

Before his sister could finish her words, Ji Rongyu had already hung up the phone.

Ji Rongyu lowered his head, “This time, you should believe me, right?”

The sound of a shower filled the bathroom.

Amid the sound of the water, Ji Rongyu’s voice could be heard.

“Yu Bai, I still want to…”

Yu Bai: “Get lost.”
