“Are you worthy?”
Chu Yi Qiao’s cold and ruthless voice echoed in the ward. He looked at the old man’s repentant look at this moment and wanted to laugh.
What’s the use of these belated confessions and belated apologies?
It didn’t serve any purpose.
“From the moment you hid the video to shield Jiang Mian Huai, you are no different from Jiang Mian Huai. He killed someone, and you shielded the murderer, which is equivalent to an accomplice. Even if you didn’t know that you still had a 10 year-old child at the time, you didn’t have the heart. I wanted to go and see my mother again, but what did you do? You asked the bodyguard to stop me and didn’t even let me see my mother off for the last time. I remember it.”
“Not letting me see my mother one last time, I remember.”
“Leaving me alone in the house, I remember.”
“Restricting all my freedom, I remember.”
Chu Yi Qiao recounted the old man’s actions word by word. The night he remembered most vividly came to his mind. The hospital was as cold as hell. That was the night that he felt like a child abandoned by the world.
What kind of life had he led since then, how had he survived.
Could he forget?
“Can I forget? I won’t forget even if I die.”
He will never forgive these two people in his life.
Luo Qing Ye held Chu Yi Qiao’s hand, and frowned when he felt the coldness of his hand. He was a little worried that Chu Yi Qiao would collapse like that day. He slowly released pheromones to comfort Chu Yi Qiao. This was his Omega, and he couldn’t let his Omega have emotional breakdowns over and over again.
The ups and downs on the electrocardiogram began to fluctuate. The old man’s emotions were very agitated when he heard Chu Yi Qiao’s hatred for him.
“Yi Qiao, I’ve let you and your mother down. Back then, I didn’t know that your mother was pregnant with my child when she broke up with me. Otherwise, I would never let her marry Mian Huai, and I would never let her suffer any grievances.”
Chu Yi Qiao laughed: “You don’t need to explain to me, go and explain to my mother. By the way, help me tell my mum that I’m doing well now, I’ve found my Alpha, my illness is better, we’re deeply in love with each other, we’ll get married and have our children in the future.”
Luo Qing Ye subconsciously gripped Chu Yi Qiao’s cold hand.
Assistant Xu: “…… “ So ruthless, but it is indeed also wrong. If it wasn’t Master Jiang who gave him this evidence to hand over to the police to turn himself in, he wouldn’t have known that this wealthy family was really messed up.
But now it’s too late to repent, the damage has been done.
“Assistant Xu, you go first.” Chu Yi Qiao looked up at Assistant Xu beside him: “Lest the disaster befalls the fish1殃及池鱼 (yāng jí chi yú): an idiom, getting innocent bystanders into trouble in a disturbance..”
Assistant Xu was stunned for a few seconds, as if he thought of something, his expression was a little complicated, he looked at Master Jiang on the hospital bed.
“Master Jiang, I’m here.”
A knock sounded on the door, and Assistant Xu answered: “Is it Lawyer Guo? Come in.”
The door of the ward was pushed open from the outside, and Lawyer Guo, who was in a neat suit, walked in with a briefcase. He saw that Chu Yi Qiao, the beneficiary of the will, was also present, and there was a young man beside him.
“That’s Yi Qiao’s Alpha partner, it’s okay, give it to me.” The old man said, his voice seemed a little feeble.
Lawyer Guo nodded, he took out the latest revised contents of the will and handed it to the old man, and took out the recording.
The old man took the will and read it softly:
“The testator’s name is Jiang Cheng, age 68. In order to prevent property disputes and other disputes after my death, I am making a will here.”
“My wife Chu Xin Xin died on the 8th of January, xxxx, aged 30 years. My eldest son, Jiang Mian Huai, aged 48, is married and has no children; my second son, Chu Yi Qiao, aged 28, is unmarried and has no children.”
“I will deal with all my property as follows: I voluntarily leave all the following legal properties that belong to me to my second son Chu Yi Qiao.”
“100% of the shares of Jiang Group, as well as the decision-making power of 220 global branches under the Group.”
“60% of the shares of Chu Group.”
“12 villas including No. 168 and No. 188 in Jiang Tian Yi Su Villa District.”
“32 cars including Lincoln, Rolls-Royce, Maybach, etc.”
“28 gold bars of 400 ounces.”
……
These are not assets that can be easily valued, and the lawyers spent a month sorting it all out while doing the property registration. If such a fortune were to be inherited, the heir would leap into the position of richest man in the world.
After the old man finished reading a long list, he glanced at Assistant Xu and motioned him to take the things out, and then looked at Chu Yiqiao: “Yi Qiao, there is also your mother’s things in villa No. 168, and your mother’s things in the Swiss Bank. I don’t know what’s in it, and only your fingerprint can retrieve it.”
Lawyer Guo put away the recording, just in case.
Assistant Xu handed a key to Chu Yi Qiao. At the old man’s signal, Assistant Xu sent Lawyer Guo away first.
The ward was left with only the three of them, and soon fell into silence.
Chu Yi Qiao took the key from Assistant Xu. It was an old copper key, and he was very familiar with it. It was the key to the house he lived in before. When he was young, his mother taught him how to open the door.
His nose could not help but sour.
Giving him the key again, would he dare to go back?
“Ge.”
He heard Luo Qing Ye’s worried voice, and at the same time, he smelled the comfort of the oolong osmanthus honey pheromone on Luo Qing Ye, which made him feel much more comfortable. He put the key in his pocket, took a deep breath to adjust his mood, and looked up at Luo Qing Ye:
“It’s okay, I still can.”
Luo Qing Ye held Chu Yi Qiao’s hand and clasped his fingers tightly.
Feeling the warmth of Luo Qing Ye’s palm, Chu Yi Qiao felt that he had calmed down a little.
The old man looked at the interaction between the two people in front of him, and perhaps he remembered something and his eyes became distant: “Back then, your mother and I were AOs with a compatibility of 101%. If there were no accidents, we should have been the happiest couple. After all, it was me who was wrong.”
“What’s the matter with Jiang Mian Huai?” Chu Yi Qiao asked. This scumbag was the same age as his mother, that is, the child of the old man when he was very young. Thinking of this, he seemed to have never heard of his grandmother, and it seemed that he had never seen other women at home.
The old man half-closed his eyes: “I’m not married. Mian Huai is the illegitimate child secretly born to my lover when I was young. She died in childbirth, so I had to take the child home.”
“Then how did you and my mother meet?” Chu Yi Qiao thought to himself that it was hard to believe, if his mother really had a relationship with the old man, wouldn’t the age difference between the two be quite big, twenty years apart.
“That year I went to Switzerland on a business trip, and my friend took me to a symphony. Your mother was only 18 years old and was already the first violinist. Standing on the stage like a blooming red rose. I fell in love with her at first sight. But I also knew that the age difference between me and her was too great, so I didn’t dare to get close to her. Later I learned that she was a sophomore at the Conservatory of Music, so I tried to go to her school and pretend to meet her by chance.”
“I catered to her interests and talked to her about music, saying that I also liked the violin and wanted to learn from her.”
“And then later she confessed her love to me first.”
The old man’s pale face showed a smile that he had never seen before, which was the joy brought to him by the beautiful and happy days in the past: “She is a very bright and straightforward girl, beautiful, elegant, and generous. I felt that there was not enough beauty in the world to describe her, so I wanted to bestow all the world’s beauty on her. Once, I was lucky enough to find a Guarli2瓜尔利 (guā ěr lì): I tried to google this name but couldn’t find anything related to violins/music. violin at an auction, so I bought it for her at a high price. I still remember that I When I gave her the violin, the girl was so happy that she said she wanted to marry me because I understood her.”
“It was in this happiness that I dated her for two years, forgetting myself and hiding the fact that I had a child.”
“Until Chu Group had a change and she returned home, she came to the group to look for me, but happened to see Mian Huai calling me father, and my lies were exposed. From that time onwards, she felt that I had cheated her, she felt that she was the third party, and since then, she no longer admitted to having any relationship with me.”
“At that time, Chu Group was facing an urgent crisis, with a 1.5 billion shortfall, she originally returned to China to seek my help, but she didn’t even give me a chance to explain, she got together with Mian Huai without my knowledge. Mian Huai didn’t know what happened between me and her, but Mian Huai would rather marry a woman he didn’t love in order to inherit the group, and Xin Xin also reached an agreement with me to alleviate the family’s economic crisis.”
“I was furious at your mother for doing that, but she was unwilling to explain or talk to me, so the contract was born.”
The old man shook his head bitterly: “I shouldn’t have been so confident, nor should I have felt that no other Alpha would harm Xin Xin if I marked her, and I shouldn’t have been too permissive to Mian Huai when he was younger, causing his humanity to become twisted and eventually do such things.”
“I also shouldn’t have covered up Jiang Mian Huai’s actions for my own dignity. He threatened me with Xin Xin’s affairs countless times, used Caesar’s Club to develop his own affairs, and every time the police came to me, I helped him settle it, and—”
“That’ll do.” Chu Yi Qiao nonchalantly interrupted.
The old man was stunned. He looked at Chu Yi Qiao, but met Chu Yi Qiao’s cold eyes. For a moment, he looked exactly the same as when Chu Xin Xin said she hated him. He couldn’t help but clutch the corner of the quilt.
“It is undeniable that you may have been a good boyfriend. It is also undeniable that you are a ‘good’ father in front of Jiang Mian Huai.” Chu Yi Qiao stood up, walked to the old man’s bed, supported the edge of the bed with one hand, bent down and looked directly at the old man, and said indifferently: “It seems that these good things have nothing to do with me, because I don’t have such a good father. My father is rubbish.”
“It’s the same for my mother, the first man she met was a hypocrite and the second was scum.”
The old man’s breathing began to quicken and he began to feel difficulty breathing.
Chu Yi Qiao watched the old man’s changing eyes, and the hand that supported the edge of the bed could not help but exert force, the joints turned white due to the force, and the eye sockets were sore due to hatred: “……She is obviously so good, isn’t she? But I haven’t had time to feel the better side of my mother, she hasn’t had time to see me grow up, and I haven’t had time to become better, just because of you guys, she left!!!”
“To you guys she may have been a woman, something you liked and something you felt you could manipulate at will.”
“But she used to be my whole world……”
Chu Yi Qiao looked at the old man, his wet eyes blurred his vision. His nerves, which were already tense and stretched because of this matter, seemed to be about to break again: “Jiang Mian Huai stabbed me once. I was only left with my last breath, and it was you who took my last breath away.”
“I hate you all, I hate, I really hate!!!”
Seeing that Chu Yi Qiao was obviously losing control of his emotions, Luo Qing Ye quickly hugged him from behind and coaxed him: “Ge, look at me.”
Chu Yi Qiao stared at the old man on the bed with red eyes. He wished that this man would disappear in front of him immediately, and wished that he would die immediately. He had endured for 18 years, 18 years, the hatred of killing his mother and the hatred of taking his mother away, how was he to endure.
“Ge, look at me, look at me, okay?” Luo Qing Ye turned Chu Yi Qiao to face him. Seeing this man crying and breaking down, he felt pain in his heart, but he couldn’t let Chu Yi Qiao keep such emotions.
But his coaxing was useless, because Chu Yi Qiao was still in a state of full alert and trembling all over.
After taking a look at the bathroom next to him, he took Chu Yi Qiao in and locked the door.
Letting Chu Yi Qiao lean against the door, Luo Qing Ye took off Chu Yi Qiao’s glasses and looked into the man’s red eyes from crying. His eyelashes were trembling with tears, which made him feel very distressed.
He touched Chu Yi Qiao’s cheeks with both hands, leaned down and touched his forehead with his, and said in a gentle tone:
“Ge, I can’t fully feel your pain, but I can’t stand it when I see you in pain. Every time you cry, every time you collapse, I feel powerless, and I don’t know what to do. I also want to help you kill him, help you kill Jiang Mian Huai, but I thought about it again, you will definitely not agree, if you agree, then I am more than willing.” Luo Qing Ye stroked Chu Yi Qiao’s cheek, he stared: “Do you agree?”
The close distance made the breath pass through the lips, and the gentle coaxing gradually soothed the anxiety in his heart.
Chu Yi Qiao’s eyes were wet again when he saw Luo Qing Ye approaching him. His strength was completely disintergrated by the boy. He shook his head gently and choked:
“……I don’t want it.”
“Then don’t.” Luo Qing Ye lowered his head, kissed Chu Yi Qiao’s lips, and tasted the salty bitterness: “Then listen to me, we won’t cry, they will die how they should, no one will let them go for their unforgivable crimes. But you have to let yourself go, okay?”
Chu Yi Qiao quietly looked at Luo Qing Ye, listening to his Alpha coaxing him so gently, he didn’t hold back and hugged Luo Qing Ye. With his chin resting on Luo Qing Ye’s shoulder, his gaze coincided with the mirror in front of him, and he saw his wretched self in the mirror.
This can’t go on any longer.
It’s enough.
It’s time to end it.
Luo Qing Ye let him hug him, his hand on his back to give him a gentle pat, but he was still a little worried when he felt the wetness on his shoulder, was his ability to comfort people really that bad? So he slightly sideways glanced at Chu Yi Qiao: “Still crying?”
Chu Yi Qiao pushed Luo Qing Ye’s head back with one hand: “Don’t look at me, still crying.”
Luo Qing Ye couldn’t help laughing out loud, it was ok if he could still joke: “Then you can continue crying. I’ll lend you my shoulder.” Then he put his arms around Chu Yi Qiao and hugged him tightly: “They say Omegas are made of water. Look at how good you are at crying.”
Chu Yi Qiao took a bite on Luo Qing Ye’s shoulder as punishment.
Luo Qing Ye didn’t care in the slightest as he continued to laugh: “Crying everywhere.”
Bite it if you want, as long as you don’t cry.
This President Chu, who is arrogant and strong outside, will only be like this in front of him, which means that he is someone that Chu Yi Qiao can take off his disguise with and rely on.
Chu Yi Qiao bit harder after Luo Qing Ye said this, but it was only for a second, and he was still reluctant to hurt his Alpha.
The mood slowly calmed down.
“Xiao Ye.”
“En?”
“Don’t be a fool for me.”
Luo Qing Ye heard what Chu Yi Qiao meant, and he laughed:
“It’s not like I’m a fool, there’s a Lao Po3reminder that this is a term of endearment for ‘wife’, probably equivalent to ‘wifey’ at home.” The colour of his eyes deepened a few times at an angle Chu Yi Qiao couldn’t see.
The two hugged each other in the bathroom for a few more minutes before adjusting their emotions and going out.
The old man kept looking at the door of the bathroom until he saw Chu Yi Qiao coming out and he breathed a sigh of relief.
“Yi Qiao, dad wants to—”
“Don’t insult the word dad.” Chu Yi Qiao had no intention of walking over: “If you have anything else to say, tell the police.”
Knock knock knock—
Chu Yi Qiao looked at the door of the ward, only to see it being slowly pushed open from the outside.
A familiar face came into view.
The leader was a tall and strong Alpha, wearing a black polo shirt, with a capable and serious aura of a law enforcement officer. The man saw Chu Yi Qiao as soon as he entered the door, and was distracted for a moment, and then saw Chu Yi Qiao’s eyes red and his brows furrowed.
“Why are your eyes red?”
Chu Yi Qiao didn’t expect that Xing Ke would come in person, and pretended to be calm and responded: “It’s okay, I’m just angry. How can Captain Xing have time to come in person?”
Luo Qing Ye: “!” He keenly caught the wrong atmosphere, looked at the man who walked in, and then looked at Chu Yi Qiao’s expression, and a sense of crisis hit him.
No way.
One He She left and who is this now ah!
“This case has been shelved for so long and finally there is a clue, so I must come in person.” Xing Ke raised the arrest warrant in his hand to Chu Yi Qiao: “If I still don’t come, someone might go to my office and make a scene, saying that I am incompetent and unworthy of being the captain of the criminal police brigade.”
Chu Yi Qiao: “……” The stupid things that young people do when they don’t know how to control their emotions, only this straight man repeatedly brings it up to accuse him.
Just when he still wanted to speak he saw Luo Qing Ye blocking in front of him.
Luo Qing Ye looked at this alpha in front of him expressionlessly and glanced at the arrest warrant he was holding in his hand” Are you a police uncle?”
Xing Ke glanced up and down at the boy who was talking. Although he looked very tall, by looking at his temperament he reckoned that he was still a student. It seemed right to say that he was a police uncle: “Little friend, please make way, the police uncle is going to arrest someone.”
After saying this, he signalled his colleagues behind him to come in.
Luo Qing Ye: “……” This time it’s the police, different from the fake green tea He She.
Xing Ke walked to the bedside, looked at the old man on the bed, and said in a serious and impartial manner: “Mr. Jiang Cheng, you are suspected of harbouring a serious criminal, Jiang Mian Huai. Jiang Mian Huai is suspected of intentional homicide, huge economic crimes, human trafficking, operating yhsq4淫秽色情 (yín huì sè qíng): obscene p*rnography. venues, smuggling and drug trafficking, and has posed a serious threat to public security. Please accept our investigation.”
Luo Qing Ye’s expression became solemn when he heard these charges. How could Jiang Mian Huai escape for so long? Any of the charges would be a death sentence.
Chu Yi Qiao sneered silently. The old man had no objection: “Okay.” His eyes were still looking at Chu Yi Qiao, as if he hoped that Chu Yi Qiao could look at him a few more times.
Xing Ke signalled his colleagues behind him, “You guys stay and watch, this person has been approved for medical parole.”
“Roger!”
The ward has become a place where the old man is detained, so he can’t stay for long.
Just as Chu Yi Qiao was about to leave, the old man called him.
“……Yi Qiao, before I die can you call me a dad?”
The old man’s voice was hoarse and weak, and the humble begging in his tone would indeed make people feel unbearable, but the premise is that he hadn’t done any of these things.
Chu Yi Qiao thought to himself, this person used his hands to cover the sky to cultivate such a madman who harmed society, harbouring murder and all sorts of heartless things, and how could he still dare to make such a request. He turned to look at the old man:
“I give up all your property because I think it’s dirty.”
After saying that, he pulled on Luo Qing Ye and left the ward.
The moment he left the ward, he felt that the burden on him seemed to be lighter, and now there was only one Jiang Mian Huai left.
“Chu Yi Qiao.”
Just as he was about to leave, Xing Ke’s voice came from behind him.
Luo Qing Ye turned his head and saw that the police uncle had caught up with him?! The sense of crisis came again, and he quickly stood in front of Chu Yi Qiao: “What are you going to do? The old man’s crime has nothing to do with us.”
“Xiao Ye, I know him, don’t be nervous.” Chu Yi Qiao pulled Luo Qing Ye’s hand down and pulled him behind himself, gently patted the back of his hand, then looked at Xing Ke: “Captain Xing, any instructions?”
Xing Ke was born with thick eyebrows and a heroic spirit. When he was serious, it would make people feel difficult to approach. Now that he was relaxed, he seemed a little calmer.
“In the past few years, your several reports were rejected due to insufficient evidence. If Jiang Cheng had not surrendered himself and handed over all the evidence to the police, we might have found it difficult to set up such an investigation team. The complexity and difficulty of the case require the cooperation of many parties. But now Jiang Mian Huai has fled the country. We have requested assistance from foreign police, but this time, it may take a long time, so you need to wait patiently.”
Chu Yi Qiao listened to this and said indifferently: “Of course, I will try my best to cooperate with the police. I hope you can catch him thoroughly this time and stop him from endangering society.”
Xing Ke seemed to hear Chu Yi Qiao’s tone of dissatisfaction with him, but reluctantly having to ask for his help: “Why, you still think I didn’t do a good job before, so you are angry with me?”
The more Luo Qing Ye heard, the more he felt wrong, why is the atmosphere between these two people so subtle! He believed Chu Yi Qiao, after all, Chu Yi Qiao was repulsed by Alphas approach before. But this policeman seemed to be interested in his Lao Po!
The Alpha’s jealousy was burning.
“This police uncle, don’t you watch the news?” Luo Qing Ye put his arm around Chu Yi Qiao’s shoulders and hugged him into his arms, his possessiveness unobstructed.
Xing Ke’s eyes fell on Luo Qing Ye’s hand around Chu Yi Qiao’s shoulders, and surprise flashed in his eyes: “Chu Yi Qiao, didn’t you say you don’t like Alphas?”
Luo Qingye saw Xing Ke was still looking at his Lao Po and his expression darkened instantly:
“I am his Lao Gong5reminder that this is a term of endearment for ‘husband’, probably equivalent to ‘hubby’!”
melon: sorry guys, I know I’ve been gone a while 😭
To summarise, I’ve had to pay for an expensive dental procedure recently so I’ve been trying to churn out commissions to make up for the hole in my bank account. I’ve also been sick this week so that did not help.
As most of you probably already know, I’m a freelancer and I paint Japanese garage kits on commission basis. To give more insight, my income is entirely dependent how fast I can churn out commissions. On bad months, my income could be less than $500, on good months, it could be $2-3k.
Everyone probably also knows that all fan translators don’t get paid for what we do, we just do it out of passion. So unfortunately, during this time, I’ll have to prioritise my irl problems over translating. That said, I will still try to update at least once a week cos I really like this story and I want to see it to the end.
If you appreciate my work, please do turn of ad block, I can at least buy myself a drink with the monthly ad revenue. 😂
Last but not least, thanks to everyone for your support.

ps: I also have ko-fi if anyone wants to buy me a drink. 😬
