QTEBS Chapter 42

Ferocious Mermaid (End)

If the mermaid is willing, there’s no need to look for a boat; the lifeboat left on the shore can take them ashore.

The mermaid licked the oil lingering on its fingers and let out a satisfied belch.

Zong Yuan asked, “Are you full?”

The mermaid, with its oily mouth, leaned in and gave him a smooch on the face, “Daddy.”

Zong Yuan’s mouth twitched as he wiped off the oil, “Can you do Daddy a favor?”

The mermaid let out a comfortable gurgle from its throat.

Zong Yuan continued, “How about you help those people with me get ashore? Or just bring a sturdy boat for them to go back on their own.”

“Get ashore,” “boat,” humans want to leave?

The mermaid’s relaxed expression faded, and it glared fiercely at the human, “Husband!”

Dark emotions surged in its eyes; if the human dared to run, they would be trapped at the bottom of the sea forever.

With a delicate pout, Zong Yuan helplessly ruffled its hair, “Be good, your husband isn’t leaving.”

He patted it on the rear, “If I leave, where will I find such a treasure again?”

The mermaid’s rear had an adhesive quality that brought him great pleasure.

It understood this sentence perfectly; it calmed down in a second and stuck to Zong Yuan, “Daddy, hungry.”

In the mermaid’s understanding, this meant a desire for intimacy.

Has this guy learned how to unbuckle pants too?

Feeling exhausted, Zong Yuan took its hand, “You bring the boat and send them off, then I’ll have a good time with you.”

The mermaid asked, “Husband?”

Zong Yuan flirtatiously traced several circles on its scales, as if since the moment it transformed its legs, he no longer feared its scales, “One hand exchanges the boat, the other hand exchanges pleasure.”

The mermaid lay against him, “Daddy, hungry.”

Its scales seemed to have an iron-like quality; the firelight reflecting off its scales left light spots on Zong Yuan’s body. With its fish tail, it must weigh at least as much as two adult men, yet Zong Yuan held it effortlessly.

His boyfriend strength was off the charts.

Zong Yuan flipped it over and observed closely in the firelight, discovering deep blue scales that were nearly black. Just to the left of its rear, there lay a pure black scale.

What’s that little black dot?

The mermaid hummed a few times, and a small, bun-sized bulge formed beneath its scales. Zong Yuan mercilessly pressed it back down, “Go sleep in the sea; tomorrow, your husband will take you back with them.”

The mermaid shook its flowing tendrils and splashed water all over Zong Yuan.

Its intentions were too obvious. Zong Yuan, with a dark face, carried it toward the sea, its long fish tail dragging on the ground, “Damn it!”

The mermaid obediently let him hold it, its nimble hands already unfastening his belt.

Zong Yuan felt an involuntary reaction to its teasing; suddenly, a scream pierced the dark— a man’s voice.

The mermaid frowned in irritation and Zong Yuan’s expression darkened, “Damn it, this is bad.”

He tried to put the mermaid back into the water but it clung tightly to his neck. Zong Yuan decided to carry it straight toward the source of the sound.

He moved quickly, still effortlessly carrying the mermaid. Oddly enough, in the pitch-black night, he could see more details clearly than during the day.

Zong Yuan vaguely recalled the mermaid’s action of slicing through his palm.

In a dire situation, he didn’t have time to think deeply; the screams were short and frantic. He could only rely on his impressions.

A figure rushed down in panic and, upon seeing Zong Yuan and the long fish tail, screamed in terror and immediately collapsed, sitting weakly on the ground.

Zong Yuan stopped, recognizing the voice. His breath was slightly heavy, “What’s wrong? Are you okay?”

The mermaid, enchanted by his breath, licked at the rolling Adam’s apple on his throat.

The man who fell was thin and looked frightened as he glanced at the mermaid several times, stuttering, “T-there’s a monster…”

He had a strong smell of blood on him, with wounds on his arms and thighs that were actively bleeding, circular wounds similar to the one on the neck of the woman who had died.

Zong Yuan asked, “Are you alright?”

The mermaid bared its sharp teeth at him in a menacing way.

The thin man trembled even more, “I-I’m fine…” Zong Yuan pressed the unruly mermaid against his neck and asked him, “What kind of monster?”

The man cautiously looked up, measuring with his hands, “It has wings and can fly! Its beak is sharp and red, it must be blood! This thing definitely killed the person!”

Zong Yuan glanced at the mermaid in his arms; were there really other beasts around? Did this guy actually allow it?

He said to the man, “Find a place to hide and go wake them up in the cave. I’ll go check out what it is.”

The man hesitated, looking at him several times, “Okay, just be careful.”

After saying this, he hurried off toward the cave, like a man chased by a wolf.

Zong Yuan carried the mermaid upward, “Is there anything else on this island besides you?”

Perhaps it was because of the mermaid, but Zong Yuan felt relaxed and joked, “Who’s stronger, you or that thing?”

The mermaid’s face darkened in displeasure.

Zong Yuan chuckled, “Did you understand?”

The mermaid didn’t understand but it caught a whiff of a terrible stench— the stench of that giant bird. It grabbed Zong Yuan’s arm, and he stopped, “What’s wrong?”

The mermaid raised its hand, and a torrent of seawater, as thick as its arm, surged past Zong Yuan’s side. Countless branches and leaves were swept into the water, crashing down hard in a corner of the mountain top.

Zong Yuan, who had been preparing to heroically leap forward to kill the monster, exclaimed, “…Wow.”

Having an exceptionally talented wife had its downsides; it made it hard for him to showcase his own strengths.

The mermaid scored a hit and tilted its chin, signaling Zong Yuan to move forward, “Daddy.”

Zong Yuan hurriedly approached the puddle, finally standing in front of a creature that was about a meter long, with a long beak, sharp claws, and completely black.

He carefully examined its beak; the front half was indeed red, but it was likely the creature’s natural color rather than blood.

However, the shape could easily puncture a human. In this darkness, that thin man had no way to distinguish whether it was the creature’s color or blood.

After observing, Zong Yuan planned to leave with the mermaid, but it suddenly said, “Eat it.”

Zong Yuan felt a mix of emotions as if he had raised a pig, “Didn’t you just eat?”

The mermaid summoned the seawater to bind the giant bird and looked at Zong Yuan with eager eyes.

Zong Yuan inspected the dark creature again with an appraising gaze, “Something that flies often should be quite chewy, right?”

The mermaid’s eyes lit up in an instant.

Raising a creature in this world was indeed challenging; with two mouths, their appetites were insatiable.

It was late and dawn was approaching; the mermaid didn’t intend to eat the giant bird right now and decided to hang it from a tree instead.

After Zong Yuan reassured it multiple times, the mermaid chose to trust this human once and sent the others to a place with boats using the waves.

Zong Yuan pushed the lifeboat out onto the sea and the mermaid surfaced halfway to look at him.

Soon, many people emerged. Zong Yuan took off his jacket, which smelled of various things, and threw it over the mermaid’s head, “Put this on.”

What’s with exposing yourself like that!

The mermaid shook its head a couple of times and the jacket slipped off its head. It brought it to its nose, immediately making a disgusted expression. Whatever Zong Yuan threw at it, it threw right back.

Zong Yuan, with his face covered by his own jacket: “…”

With a dark expression, he walked into the water, “Raise your hands.”

The mermaid obediently let him handle it, its expression filled with disgust. Zong Yuan pulled up the zipper for it and said seriously, “Let me see how it looks.”

His hands moved over the mermaid’s chest, feeling for the hardness through the jacket until he could sense its firmness and stopped, satisfied, “Not bad.”

The thickness of the jacket was just right, completely hiding anything inappropriate.

The mermaid’s tail wrapped around Zong Yuan’s legs from beneath the water.

Zong Yuan patted its tail twice, “Baby, let go of your tail; they’re about to arrive.”

Since overcoming his fear of fish scales, Zong Yuan felt as if he could make the world his home without a care.

It must be that the mermaid was too naughty.

It had brought out his mischievous side too.

As the night slowly passed, despite not resting for such a long time and experiencing so much, Zong Yuan still felt invigorated, ready to fight for three hundred rounds at any moment.

He should have felt something was off, “You little fool, did you do this?”

The mermaid was busy preparing the ingredients for breakfast and didn’t want to pay him any mind.

Zong Yuan had 0046 scan his vitals, and the results astonished them both. “Wow! Zong Yuan! Your body metrics have improved by several times!”

0046 felt a bit shy, “Your performance in that regard is equivalent to the volume of several whales.”

Zong Yuan remarked, “No wonder I always feel so fired up…”

Always wanting to touch the mermaid.

He had been worried about how to satisfy the mermaid’s appetite, only to discover that it had turned him into a superhero.

Since Zong Yuan had promised his companions a hearty meal, they decided to make it their last supper before parting ways, starting the barbecue as soon as they reached the beach.

The mermaid had prepared an impressive amount of food. Zong Yuan picked out the parts it didn’t like, cooking them for the others while the mermaid meticulously prepared its preferred portions.

This group had spent the entire night in fear, and now, upon smelling the aroma of the food, they couldn’t help but swallow hard; if the mermaid weren’t there, they would probably have jumped in to grab some.

“It’s so delicious!!! So delicious!!!”

They were nearly moved to tears.

After so many long days, the first time tasting something salty and flavorful had them emotional.

The group devoured the food hungrily, not caring if it was hot or scalding, their faces covered in soot. The thin man nearly threw up from eating too quickly, feeling embarrassed, “I ate too fast; I’ll take it slow.”

The suited man bumped into him, laughing, “Hahaha, Zong Yuan, you’re amazing!”

His expression was sincere, his eyes focused on Zong Yuan, subtly revealing his infatuation, “You also let the mermaid spare us.”

Zong Yuan was focused on grilling food for the mermaid, thinking about taking it around to taste cuisines from various countries once this group was ashore. He merely nodded in response to the suited man’s words.

The mermaid caught the scent of human desire and glared fiercely at the suited man until he averted his gaze.

It wanted to kill, but it couldn’t.

Hmph.

Once they were half full, they couldn’t hold back any longer and timidly asked, “Zong Yuan, when are we leaving?”

“Yeah, Mr. Yang told us last night! Oh my! There are monsters on this island! They drink human blood!”

Zong Yuan stared at the happily eating mermaid, “We’ll leave after it finishes.”

The group fell silent, waiting quietly.

The mermaid let out a satisfied burp and Zong Yuan directed them to board the lifeboat. They deliberately left a spot for him, but Zong Yuan refused, “I’m not leaving.”

They were taken aback, “You’re not leaving?!”

Could it be that he planned to use himself to trade with the mermaid and stay here forever, letting them go?!

Their expressions turned to one of guilt and emotion, “No! We’ll leave together!”

“…” Zong Yuan said, “Don’t overthink it. Hold on tight.”

The mermaid summoned the waves to carry the boat forward. The suited man gritted his teeth and shouted, “Zong Yuan! Wait for me to rescue you!”

Damn mermaid!

As soon as he shouted, Zong Yuan remembered, instructing the mermaid, “Can’t you control thoughts? Make sure to wipe their memories clean.”

The mermaid curled its lips slightly, looking at Zong Yuan with a confused expression.

Zong Yuan said, “You little brat.”

The yellow lifeboat drifted further away. Zong Yuan asked 0046, “Once they’re rescued, my mission will be complete, right?”

0046 was a bit excited, “Yes! Zong Yuan, you’ve been accumulating for your brother for 11 years!”

The first world for five years, the second world for six years.

And he also gained a clueless wife.

Zong Yuan chuckled, recalling what the mermaid wanted to eat last night and remembering that it had drunk human blood, “Sweetheart, we won’t eat this.”

The mermaid looked at him in confusion.

Zong Yuan pointed at the dark shape hanging from the tree, “This thing has drunk human blood; it’s not tasty. Let me take you to eat something delicious, okay?”

The mermaid nodded but then slowly added, “Not drinking.”

Zong Yuan was taken aback, “Not drinking?”

The mermaid flicked its tail in the water, “It doesn’t drink blood.”

Zong Yuan’s pupils constricted.

This thing doesn’t drink blood?

Then what does it drink?

The four people on the boat were silently pushed along by the waves. The woman broke down, crying, “We’re finally leaving! Getting away from that hellhole!”

The waves pushed them forward with purpose and the speed gave them an endless sense of safety.

Suddenly, the suited man spoke up, looking at the thin man, “You killed the person, didn’t you?”

The other man and the woman stiffened suddenly.

The thin man, with a face of horror, forced himself to remain calm, “It wasn’t me; I don’t know anything.”

The suited man shouted, “It was you! Are you planning to kill us too?!”

The thin man stammered, “Y-you…”

The woman lunged at him, “You’re the one who killed her! You killed her! I want revenge! You don’t deserve to be saved!”

She tried to push the thin man into the sea and the suited man and the other man were startled, rushing to help hold her back. In the chaos, however, the thin man was suddenly flipped into the water.

He couldn’t swim, desperately flailing his arms and legs, “Help! Help! I didn’t see anything! Please, I’m begging you, save me!”

As he struggled in the water, the woman acted as if she didn’t see him, wiping her tears, “Evil begets evil; those who kill will ultimately be punished.”

The suited man sighed, “That’s right.”

The thin man slowly sank to the bottom of the sea, until there were no more bubbles. Only then did the three on the boat breathe a sigh of relief. The other man wiped the sweat from his forehead, “How did you know he saw anything?”

The woman snorted, “Ever since then, he hasn’t dared to sleep in the cave. He runs out at midnight looking for other places, and he even ran into a giant bird monster—what luck.”

The suited man said, “Shh, he killed someone; he got what he deserved.”

The mermaid’s eyes flickered and it ran to Zong Yuan’s side, tugging at his clothes. Zong Yuan, frowning and deep in thought, came back to his senses, “What’s wrong?”

The mermaid smoothed his tightly knitted brows.

Human, don’t worry.

Suddenly, the three people on the boat felt a wave of intense drowsiness wash over them. Within seconds, they fell into a deep sleep.

A giant turtle suddenly surfaced, its back carrying the thin man, who still had a faint breath.

Starting from today, they would completely forget the mermaid.

They would only remember the grudges and bonds between the four of them.

The deceitful conflicts among humans are far more terrifying than the direct killings in the animal world.

Zong Yuan was comforted by the mermaid; he pulled its hand down and kissed it, saying, “Thank you, sweetheart.”

The mermaid didn’t accept this kind of gratitude; it reached for Zong Yuan’s brother—

Zong Yuan was successfully distracted by it, looking at its tail with unexpected excitement, “Wild battle?”

0046 exclaimed, “…What the hell.”

In the end, they were still in the sea.

Because the mermaid felt more connected here and had a stronger grip.

Halfway through their fun, Zong Yuan heard 0046’s numb voice, “Congratulations, success.”

The mermaid’s tail tightly coiled around him, indeed helping Zong Yuan find a method. He gave a perfunctory nod and threw himself back into the passionate embrace of the mermaid.

Since the mission was successful, he no longer cared about who had sucked blood and killed.

There was nothing he could do; none of that mattered as much as the attraction he felt towards the mermaid.

Speaking of which, could the mermaid absorb this? Would it lay an egg?

No way, the egg would only compete with him for the mermaid; that absolutely couldn’t happen.

Zong Yuan blurted out, “Are you going to lay an egg?”

The mermaid huffed, pulling aside its scales to reveal its brother. What makes you forget that I’m male? Male!

A majestic and powerful male mermaid, the king of the sea.

Zong Yuan noticed that the more he engaged, the longer he could breathe underwater. However, no delicacies could compare to the human world. After a few days, Zong Yuan took the mermaid, now with legs, ashore from the beach.

Zong Yuan carried a few pearls with him and nonchalantly bought a set of clothes for himself and the mermaid.

He almost had the mischievous idea of dressing the mermaid in women’s clothing.

0046 remarked, “I feel like this world is like a vacation.”

Wearing sunglasses, Zong Yuan kissed the mermaid and smiled, “I feel the same.”

With the innocent mermaid and this strange world, it perfectly restored his weary heart.

No matter how powerful he was, the influences from three lifetimes, the crowds that constantly came and went, couldn’t be forgotten just like that.

When the mermaid first came ashore, it was vigilant of any crowd, always ready to pounce and bite. It was only when held by Zong Yuan that it calmed down a bit.

Zong Yuan took it to enjoy some authentic barbecue, making sure not to add any spice, feeding it directly with his own hands.

The mermaid’s eyes lit up, and under the table, its legs transformed into a fish tail, “Delicious!”

Damn!

Good thing it’s a private room!

Zong Yuan kicked its fish tail under the table, “Change back.”

The mermaid stared at the food on the table, drooling, “Daddy, hungry.”

Zong Yuan’s lips twitched as he resigned himself to feeding it, teaching it how to use chopsticks.

He still remembered the experience when the mermaid had called him “Daddy” right in the middle of a crowd on the street… At that time, a brother nearby had patted his shoulder and winked, saying, “Bro, that’s some kink!”

It was all his fault from the beginning.

On the TV in the private room, a news segment reported that a wealthy tycoon had sneaked into three houses overnight, beating the homeowners to near death and then suing them. The beaten-up people looked somewhat familiar.

Zong Yuan lowered his eyes, smiling as he fed the mermaid, who still struggled to hold its chopsticks, another piece of meat.

“Baby, eat slowly. Hubby still wants to take you to taste the world.”

The mermaid’s tail brushed against him.

Damn.

He had to admit, it was really nourishing.

When a waiter came in with another plate of meat, they saw the dominant man across the table kissing another handsome guy by lifting his chin.

The cute guy being kissed let out a muffled sound that made even the waiter blush.

The waiter retreated, their face burning as if they could boil eggs with it. Oh my gosh, what a perfect match!!!

They wanted to watch!!!

Actually, the most nourishing thing in the sea… is the mermaid [shy][shy][shy].

This world won’t last too long; it’s just a repair station for Brother Yuan. Goodbye, cute little mermaid!!!

Which world is next? I want to write about them all! Whimper whimper!
