QTEBS Chapter 56

Grad(5)

Decent clothes can’t be made quickly.

Early in the morning, the tailor shop welcomed an esteemed customer. Holding a measuring tape, the somewhat chubby and awkward-looking tailor, feeling around Grad’s body, appeared quite creepy. Zong Yuan couldn’t stand it after watching for a few minutes, so he directly snatched the tape measure from the tailor’s hand, “I’ll do it.”

As Zong Yuan stood behind Grad, he immediately noticed the stiffening of Grad’s body.

“Relax,” he said as he embraced Grad, the slender tape measure sliding in a circle around Grad’s waist. Zong Yuan tightened the tape measure, and involuntarily, Grad held his breath, straightening his posture. A delicate curvature appeared around his waist.

Zong Yuan looked down at the measurements, murmuring something meaningfully, “Very slim waist.”

What did he mean?

Grad’s limbs stiffened as he looked down at his own waist, discreetly sucking in his stomach.

Holding the measurements, the tailor spoke in a low voice to Zong Yuan, “Please leave your address, gentlemen. After the clothes are done, I’ll have them delivered to you.”

Zong Yuan spoke for Grad, “The clothes are made for this gentleman. When the clothes are ready, he’ll probably have left by then. You can ask him for the address.”

Everyone was aware that Grad would eventually leave, even Grad himself. He didn’t think he had the patience to stay here for long, even if there was delicious food that suited his taste.

But when Zong Yuan brought it up, he felt somewhat driven away, and the cruel side of him, belonging to the vampire, churned within. His face showed a bit of discontent, “Zong, do you want me to leave?”

Zong Yuan and the tailor discussed styles while giving him a few glances in the midst of their busy work, “Don’t you plan to leave?”

Grad licked his teeth, unusually annoyed: “…”

Suddenly, screams from the crowd outside on the street reached their ears, making the tailor curious, “What’s happening?”

Grad wrinkled his nose as if he had caught a disgusting smell. His expression showed disdain, but he saw Zong Yuan walking straight out of the shop. Outside, groups of people were gathered, and the scene in the middle was unclear, but Zong Yuan had already detected the smell of blood.

Grad stood beside him, holding his arm. “Zong, don’t go over there.”

The stench pervaded the air, and he secretly took several sniffs of Zong Yuan, successfully suppressing the nauseating smell.

At this moment, the place where the incident occurred again echoed with numerous screams. A young man with a pale complexion, confused eyes, and delicate features stumbled towards Zong Yuan. His face still had traces of blood, and he greedily stared at Zong Yuan. “So…fragrant…”

Grad was almost furious!

How dare he peek at his food?!!

Before he could react, the young man had already walked up to them. Zong Yuan pushed Grad and the tailor behind him. “Move aside.”

It had been a long time since he had used force; after all, he was a gentleman.

Zong Yuan looked enthusiastically at the young man, showing no signs of action.

Watching his every move, Grad couldn’t help but ask, “What does he want to do?” Why wasn’t he moving?

… What was he doing again? Was Grad concerned about the safety of a food source?

It wasn’t until the young man approached that Zong Yuan quickly flipped him over. He looked extremely relaxed, one leg pressing down on the young man, the posture both handsome and cool.

The tailor thought this gentleman was really handsome. Just as he was about to compliment this brave gentleman to the people around him, he saw his customer beside him with a serious expression, his gaze fixed on the gentleman, looking just like his daughter when she saw her crush.

Tailor: ???

Zong Yuan firmly held the young man’s hands and feet. Those who were initially frightened by the young man covered in fresh blood now approached with a mixture of fear and curiosity.

The young man continued to struggle violently. But Zong Yuan’s strength was formidable, pressing down on him like a mountain.

Some well-intentioned people brought a rope. Zong Yuan tied the young man’s hands and flipped him over. The young man’s once delicate face was now covered in dust, mingled with blood and dirt. Undeterred, he still attempted to bite Zong Yuan.

Zong Yuan pinched the young man’s jaw, forcing him to open his mouth. His two long fangs shamelessly exposed themselves to the onlookers.

“Oh my goodness, what is this?!”

Without a hint of trembling in his hands, Zong Yuan held the young man’s face, observing it carefully. Those who recognized him exclaimed, “Ah, he’s the young master from the Argyle Manor!”

With a gentlemanly smile, Zong Yuan turned to the man who recognized him. “Sir, could you do me a favor?”

The man, still excited, blushed, “Of course, anything you say.”

Zong Yuan gestured to the length of the two fangs, politely saying, “Please provide me with pliers or a file of this size. I plan to pull out or file down his teeth. Thank you.”

Grad: “…” A chill ran down his spine. Damn, that’ll hurt so much!

How could he be so ruthless?!

Even the onlookers sympathized with the young man on the ground, and then dispersed, unable to bear watching.

The man entrusted by Zong Yuan had already excitedly run home to fetch the tools.

Grad looked at Zong Yuan with a complex expression and couldn’t help but ask, “Are you really going to do this?”

“Why not?” Zong Yuan countered, “What if removing his teeth makes this child return to normal?”

Impossible, Grad rebutted in his mind. The stench emanating from the young man made him very uncomfortable. Since he had already turned into a vampire, there was no way he could revert to a human state.

He also didn’t catch the scent of his own kind nearby. Who could it be?

As for Zong’s suggestion to file down or pull out the fangs…

Without teeth, vampires couldn’t unleash their most potent power, and obtaining blood would become much more troublesome. Grad looked at the terrified expression of the vampire on the ground and thought, Zong… truly lives up to his reputation, always impressing him.

Zong Yuan had experienced the world of mermaids, maintaining a belief in these legendary creatures. The pointed fangs and mouth covered in fresh blood, unlike forgeries, reminded him of a creature that lived in the darkness – a vampire.

The only thing not conforming to the legend was that it was daytime.

The person who went to get tools quickly returned. Zong Yuan took the tools, thanked him once again without hesitation, and began filing the fangs of the suspected vampire.

Grad wore an expression of pain. In reality, the hardest things were also the most fragile. Just by watching, he knew how painful it must be.

The terrified young man struggled. After turning into a vampire, no human had been able to resist him. However, why could this human easily subdue him?!

Zong Yuan repeatedly filed down a layer of white powder. Grad said, “Zong…”

He wanted to say, “Why don’t you just kill him?” But the words changed on his lips. “Zong, I’m hungry.”

Zong Yuan stopped his actions, and sighed regretfully. The coachman, who was afraid, poked his head out, “Young master, let’s go back. The madam must be worried.”

Zong Yuan handed a few banknotes to the tailor, “This is payment for the previous clothes. As for the young man, I’ll have to trouble you to take him to Mr. Tols. Mr. Tols is responsible for the security and surveillance here.”

The tailor hurriedly agreed, “Okay.”

On the way back, both Zong Yuan and Grad remained silent. Zong Yuan speculated about the tasks in this world, “Could it be that the lives of the Count’s family and all the servants are also in danger from vampires?”

0046, “Maybe?”

Zong Yuan squinted, “A rainy night.”

The most recent rainy night was the night Grad arrived. He had previously thought it might be a robber or a murderer. If there were vampires…

Grad’s appearance was like the most cherished work of a sculptor: mysterious, beautiful, and cold.

Oh, and there was the faint smell of blood in his room.

Zong Yuan looked at Grad, his gaze deep and contemplative. Grad pulled a smile, “Zong, is there something on my face?”

Zong Yuan shook his head, stood up and sat next to Grad. He seemed to be displaying his charm as if attending a banquet, “Grad, let’s continue our previous conversation. Will you leave?”

Grad locked eyes with him, dazed, “When will you let me leave, Zong?”

Zong Yuan smirked and changed the topic, “Is Grad feeling cold?”

Without waiting for Grad’s response, he had already reached for Grad’s hand, holding it tightly and saying, “It’s a bit cold.”

Indeed, it was cold.

Feeling the warmth in his hand, Grad was stunned, not fully returning to reality, and only replied, “It’s okay.”

Zong Yuan said, “But I’m a bit hot.”

After that, he leisurely took off his coat and waistcoat. He even loosened his tie and shirt. Grad believed that if any hungry woman saw this scene, she would likely pounce on him like a hungry wolf.

However, he was not a woman, not hungry, so why did he also want to pounce?

Zong Yuan carefully observed him, clearly seeing the movement of Grad’s Adam’s apple. His slender neck was completely exposed, dazzlingly tempting Grad’s gaze. Zong Yuan asked, “Grad, are you thirsty?”

His voice carried inducement, and vibrant blood flowed through his body. “Grad, if you’re thirsty, go ahead and drink.”

Grad’s fangs tingled, and he stared intently at Zong Yuan’s neck. “Can I?”

Zong Yuan nodded approvingly, “Of course.”

He waited for Grad to take the bait, appearing casual in his words but tense like a hunter waiting for his prey to fall into his trap. His strong self-confidence and resources gave him complete assurance that he could subdue Grad—if he really was a vampire.

The clues were too coincidental. If Grad was truly a vampire, there was a high probability that he posed a threat to the Count’s family in the mission.

If Grad was indeed a vampire, could his strange emotions be some kind of enchantment ability from the other party?

Grad slowly approached Zong Yuan.

Zong Yuan tightly clasped his hands, keeping an eye on Grad’s changes with a calm and focused demeanor.

Finally, Grad leaned close to Zong Yuan’s neck, and a cold breath swept over.

Here it comes!

Zong Yuan’s hands had silently moved behind Grad.

Then, Grad extended his tongue, reaching Zong Yuan’s Adam’s apple and licking the spot that seemed to attract him more than blood.

Zong Yuan: “…???”

Author’s note:

Zong Yuan (with a serious face): This vampire wants to confuse me.

Grad: Really want to pounce…
