QTEBS Chapter 66

Zhuang Feiyu(1)

“Sorry, sorry… Please convey my sincerest apologies to Mr. Zhuang.”

The woman’s soft voice, tinged with a delicate sob, added a heart-stirring huskiness through the phone. A beauty crying was still a beauty, but the female secretary answering the call felt her head was about to explode. She furrowed her brows and sternly questioned, “Are you saying you want to refuse now?”

Omg! Omg!

Since when did third-rate celebrities dare to refuse Mr. Zhuang?!

The secretary, trembling, stood in front of the office door, only entering when a low “Hmm” came from inside.

In the most famous building in the city center, the owner of this building was sitting right in front of her.

The secretary lowered her eyes and stared fixedly at the floor. “Boss, Miss Lin Bo’er just called. She… refused you.”

A complete silence lasted a few breaths. Zhuang Feiyu signed a document in his hand and spoke with a cold tone, “Refused me?”

The secretary, cautiously, couldn’t help but complain about the inexperienced little star, “Yes, she said she encountered true love and could only politely decline.”

Zhuang Feiyu stood up, walked to the window overlooking the scenery of City A, and sneered, “A trivial matter. You don’t need to tell me again next time.”

It’s just a pity for those seemingly familiar eyes.

Zhuang Feiyu, the diamond fifth wheel that everyone in City A wanted to befriend; handsome, wealthy, mature, and charming.

The secretary found it inexplicable in her heart. If she hadn’t been watching dramas on her desk that day, the boss wouldn’t have seen this third-rate star. What was Miss Lin Bo’er thinking? She was the first woman the boss invited by phone. True love? What kind of true love could make her give up fame and fortune?

Zhuang Feiyu’s ink-colored pupils returned from the air. “Prepare to accompany me tonight.”

“Yes.”

At eight o’clock in the evening, in a spacious private room, Boss Wang welcomed Zhuang Feiyu with a smiling face. After exchanging a few warm greetings, he arranged his seat next to his daughter, implying meaningfully, “My daughter has been mentioning you all the time!”

Zhuang Feiyu lifted his lips, took the glass handed to him by the secretary, and said, “Miss Wang, long time no see.”

Miss Wang nodded uneasily, not looking like someone who talks about him every day, “Mr. Zhuang, hello.”

Her expression struggled, and she hesitated while looking at Zhuang Feiyu’s expression as if there was something difficult to say, “Mr. Zhuang?”

Zhuang Feiyu casually swept his gaze over Miss Wang, and a sudden realization struck her heart. Despite that, the impulse prompted her to speak, “Is the Fourth Hospital in City A under your ownership?”

Zhuang Feiyu answered nonchalantly, “Miss Wang, are you interested in that hospital?”

Miss Wang bit her red lips and nodded.

“Secretary,” Zhuang Feiyu set down his glass, “transfer ownership of that hospital to Miss Wang.”

Miss Wang widened her eyes in astonishment, waving her hands in panic, “No, no, no…” Then, as if recalling something, she swallowed the words of refusal, “Thank you so much, Mr. Zhuang. I also have several villas in X City, and you—”

Zhuang Feiyu gestured with his hand, signaling for her to stop, “It’s a trivial matter.”

Miss Wang looked at him gratefully, her gaze pure, completely devoid of the mixed admiration from their previous meeting. Zhuang Feiyu didn’t miss this change and maintained an indifferent attitude towards it.

Among this group of big-bellied, balding business owners, Zhuang Feiyu was considered young. He had always been regarded by Boss Wang as a potential son-in-law, and perhaps he wasn’t the only one who saw him in that light.

In short, when Miss Wang expressed midway that she was feeling tired and wanted to leave early, Boss Wang earnestly asked Zhuang Feiyu to accompany Miss Wang home. Zhuang Feiyu agreed, put on his suit jacket, and led Miss Wang out.

Miss Wang’s expression carried a hint of awkwardness as she silently sat in the passenger seat. She only explained the directions to her home after Zhuang Feiyu started the car.

Zhuang Feiyu never used a driver; they say a man’s character can be seen by how he drives. So, Zhuang Feiyu must be one of those hard-to-please types—too rational and ruthless.

After enduring a few minutes, Miss Wang finally spoke, “Mr. Zhuang, could you, could you take me to the Fourth Hospital?”

Zhuang Feiyu turned towards her, “Miss Wang, are you not feeling well?”

Looking in the direction of the road, Miss Wang’s face involuntarily revealed a bit of expectation. She nodded subtly, “Yes, I’m a bit uncomfortable, but you don’t have to worry.”

The Fourth Hospital was not far away. After expressing her gratitude and intending to get off, Miss Wang saw a figure coming out of the hospital.

Miss Wang’s expression turned cold, “It’s that woman again.”

Zhuang Feiyu followed her gaze, his brows slightly furrowed. The woman seemed familiar, perhaps the Lin surname star who had rejected him before. Her appearance didn’t soften Zhuang Feiyu’s cold heart, but those eyes on her face always gave him a sense of déjà vu.

Miss Wang’s expression was obviously not right, but Zhuang Feiyu didn’t plan to delve into it. He kept his perfunctory response to himself and tactfully asked, “Most doctors have finished work. Are you sure you want to see a doctor here?”

Miss Wang blushed, “As long as there’s a doctor on the night shift.”

Zhuang Feiyu nodded, started the car, and out of courtesy, he planned to leave after Miss Wang entered the hospital. Miss Wang seemed completely nervous, forgetting there was a car behind her. She hastily adjusted her dress and wiped off the lipstick and blush on her lips, looking a bit pale upon closer inspection.

Zhuang Feiyu watched her briskly enter the hospital, drove forward, and happened to see the female celebrity walking with her head down. Passing by her, he could still hear faint sobbing, “Zong… refused…”

Zhuang Feiyu’s mouth corner sank, those eyes meant for crying.

Wasted.

The next day was a day off, and Zhuang Feiyu arrived at the airport early.

He was still in a black suit, emphasizing his tall and handsome figure. Expressionless, he waited at the exit, and the moment Guan Haoyu came out, he saw him.

“Hey, old friend!”

Guan Haoyu opened his arms warmly, but Zhuang Feiyu turned and walked away, “Keep up.”

Guan Haoyu pursed his lips, limping along behind him. Zhuang Feiyu noticed something was off, stopped, and furrowed his brows, “What’s wrong with you?”

Guan Haoyu shrugged, “Played the hero for a kid on the plane.”

Zhuang Feiyu only relaxed his furrowed brows when Guan Haoyu got into the car. He had intended to take Guan Haoyu to the hospital but inexplicably thought of the Fourth Hospital he visited with Miss Wang yesterday. He made a spontaneous decision to head there.

Although the Fourth Hospital was not large, its service was excellent. A nurse, warm and not annoyingly friendly, guided them to the ward. “I’ll call the doctor for you.”

Zhuang Feiyu said, “Summon the best doctor here.”

The nurse’s previously courteous smile turned cold at his words. “Certainly.”

Guan Haoyu scratched his head, grinning foolishly, “Zhuang-ge, I’m fine, really! Oh, by the way, my mom asked me to bring you the dumplings she made!”

Zhuang Feiyu sat in silence, closed his eyes, and adopted an attitude that refused further conversation.

Soon, the room door was gently pushed open, and a deep voice sounded, “Who is the patient?”

Zhuang Feiyu opened his eyes and looked up.

This was an extremely young doctor, with short black hair. At the moment, he was knocking on the door, and the white coat on him didn’t bring a hint of an angelic aura. Instead, he seemed like a fierce and ruthless villain.

Before Zhuang Feiyu could see clearly, he had already identified who the patient was. Moving swiftly, he walked to Guan Haoyu’s side and crouched down, “Which side?”

Guan Haoyu looked down at the doctor as if he hadn’t heard the question.

Zhuang Feiyu walked behind the doctor, “Left leg.”

Even after entering, the scent of nicotine lingered on this doctor. Truly, a disagreeable physician.

Guan Haoyu was startled by Zhuang Feiyu’s voice, and a faint blush appeared on his wheat-colored face.

Zong Yuan reached to roll up the patient’s left pant leg, soothing the patient’s emotions while talking to him, “You have a nice voice.”

He didn’t pay attention to who was speaking.

“…” Zhuang Feiyu’s mood was subtle. He paused, “Thank you.”

Zong Yuan replied, “You’re welcome.”

He examined Guan Haoyu’s left leg, “Injured today?”

Guan Haoyu scratched his head, embarrassed, “It happened an hour ago.”

“Hmm?” Zong Yuan paused, looked up, and realized that it was the patient’s voice. Well, this was awkward.

Just then, the nurse brought the tools. After disinfecting, Zong Yuan quickly cleaned Guan Haoyu’s wound. The nurse blushed while watching his movements, occasionally handing him things and asking him questions. On the other hand, Guan Haoyu struggled to get a word in.

Zong Yuan finished up, “Come back the day after tomorrow for a dressing change.”

He stood up, glanced at Guan Haoyu’s unreliable appearance, then turned to the other person in the ward, “Sir, can I brief you on the precautions?”

Zhuang Feiyu finally had a clear view of the doctor.

He had an extremely handsome face that would surely attract women. The way he raised his eyebrows at the moment revealed a charming allure. Zhuang Feiyu finally understood why Guan Haoyu blushed—this doctor had unforgettable eyes.

It gave Zhuang Feiyu a strong sense of déjà vu once again.

Zhuang · Straight as Steel · Feiyu looked down at his name tag, “Zong Yuan?”

Too bad for those captivating eyes.

They weren’t on a woman’s face, after all.

Zong Yuan replied, “Yes, you can come directly to me for the dressing change the day after tomorrow.”

Seeing him turn to leave, Guan Haoyu quickly called out, “Doctor! Can I have a contact method?”

Zong Yuan pretended not to hear, knowing well that this person wouldn’t come running after him.

Speaking of which, this world was truly bizarre.

Zong Yuan took a step back, avoiding the cup of hot water that the surgical nurse blushing, poured over him. “Be careful.”

The surgical nurse looked at him affectionately, “Dr. Zong, how about having dinner together tonight?”

“Dr. Zong!”

A woman’s voice sounded from a distance with excitement. Zong Yuan sighed and turned to face the person hurrying over, “Miss Lin, as I said last night, I have a partner.”

When Zhuang Feiyu and Guan Haoyu walked out, they saw the scene of their conversation.

Lin Bo’er’s expression of sorrow paused for a moment. Trembling, she hid behind Zong Yuan and pointed at Zhuang Feiyu, saying, “It’s him… he’s the boss.”

Zong Yuan looked surprised, glanced at Zhuang Feiyu, and inspected him from top to bottom, “This is the overweight boss who forced you, as you said?”

Quite amusing.

Zhuang Feiyu’s eyes darkened slightly.

Author’s note:

Zhuang Feiyu: I’m really straight.

Later on, it got interesting.
