Originally, Zong Yuan thought he would need a key to enter Mr. Assassin’s room. However, the assassin who sneaked onto the ship didn’t bother locking the door.
Zong Yuan removed the paper wedged in the door crack to prevent it from locking, locked the door from the inside, and comfortably rested in this room.
There was no information related to Mr. Assassin in the room, and even the traces of use were minimal. From this perspective, Mr. Assassin’s professional conduct remained intact.
In contrast to the relaxed Zong Yuan, Chi Xu, who had torn the note to pieces in a fit of anger, glared with a pair of eyes reddened by anger. He spent the whole night contemplating various methods to torment Zong Yuan.
Chi Xu would never have imagined that his target would boldly run into his room!
The next day, under the bright sun, Zong Yuan tidied himself up, preparing to leave the room. When closing the door, he deliberately didn’t put the paper back in the door crack, which Mr. Assassin used to keep a gap. Instead, he firmly closed and locked the door.
Even 0046 could imagine the expression on the little assassin’s face when he tried to open the door and couldn’t. Hmm, a wicked sense of humor.
The ship had two decks, and there were usually crowds on both ends. Perhaps due to the wild events of the previous night, there was no one on the deck closer to the restaurant.
As Zong Yuan was about to enter the restaurant, he noticed a familiar figure holding a tray, looking around with a fierce expression.
Quickly retracting his foot, Zong Yuan leaned against the wall, “… So lucky.”
Meeting this early in the morning, they could just say “Good morning” directly.
0046 peeked out, “He’s sitting right in the position facing the entrance. Basically, as soon as you enter, he’ll rush over to give you a kick.”
Zong Yuan waited at the entrance for a few minutes. Finally, he approached a crew member who came to the restaurant to eat. After slipping a few bills and clearly stating the food he wanted, he added, “I hope you can bring it to me quickly without talking to anyone on the way.”
The crew member nodded in confusion, “Okay, sir.”
The crew member moved quickly, and since the restaurant had only one entrance, he didn’t attract Chi Xu’s attention. After smoothly getting the food from the crew member, Zong Yuan returned to have his meal.
Zong Yuan walked towards the deck with his food. He didn’t want to go back to his room now, and there were still plenty of places to sit on the deck.
As the crew member, who had bought the food for himself, prepared to find a seat, he noticed Chi Xu sitting alone at a table. It wasn’t until he saw Chi Xu that he realized why the gentleman from the night before seemed so familiar. He approached Chi Xu and said, “Sir, are you waiting for another gentleman? I was also present at last night’s banquet, and I just saw your dance partner outside the door.”
Dance partner, Chi Xu pressed his tongue against the left cheek. He patted his companion at his waist and feigned a smile, “Oh, where has my ‘dance partner’ gone?”
The crew member honestly replied, “It looks like he went towards the deck.”
Leaving behind a table full of untouched food, Chi Xu stood up and ran outside, a twisted smile on his face, “I’ll definitely settle the score with you today!”
Facing the sea breeze, Zong Yuan sat down. There were many seagulls flying above the ship. In the world of mermaids, he had witnessed such scenes for over a decade. However, in this vast and unfamiliar sea, after several worlds had passed, seeing this scenery again brought a different state of mind.
Just as he took a sip of his drink, a shadow flashed before his eyes, and with a loud bang, the paper cup in his hand fell to the ground.
Looking down, he saw a black sports shoe lying next to the fallen cup.
Damn.
Case closed.
The only person who would use a shoe to attack him was that one.
Chi Xu held the gun with both hands, grinning, “I’ve got you this time.”
He looked handsome in the upper half of his body, ** to the extreme. However, when you looked further down, one foot was still snug in a shoe, while the other was in a sock, stepping on the ground. With one foot in front of the other, the intimidating stance turned into a comical one.
Suddenly, Zong Yuan remembered something, and his gaze towards Chi Xu became strangely intense.
As Chi Xu stepped forward, Zong Yuan took steps backward. His facial expressions were full of hidden meaning, occasionally shifting from Chi Xu’s face to Chi Xu’s feet. Even though Chi Xu held such a large gun, Zong Yuan deliberately avoided looking at it.
Chi Xu raised an eyebrow at him, “You have time for your last words.”
Why the hell was this idiot looking at him like that!!!
Damn.
Zong Yuan hesitated for a moment and then awkwardly spoke, “Didn’t you come without any luggage?”
Chi Xu nodded, unsure of what he was getting at.
Zong Yuan continued in fluent Chinese, “Have you not changed your socks these days?”
“And your underwear?”
The two fell into a silent pause for three seconds.
Chi Xu, without saying a word, strapped the gun to his waist, and with a crossing of his hands, produced a crackling sound of bones. Without wasting any more words, he advanced and threw a punch, his mind filled with thoughts of beating him up! Beating him to a pulp!
How dare he!
Zong Yuan had studied some self-defense martial arts through the system. While his skills were not as formidable as a professional assassin like Chi Xu, his speed and strength more than compensated for this deficiency. Once he got used to Chi Xu’s deadly moves at the beginning, he took the upper hand.
Chi Xu’s weapon had long been thrown aside during the scuffle, but he had no attention to spare for such details. Whether it was a man’s dignity or an assassin’s determination, all he cared about now was gritting his teeth and defeating him!
They approached the railing on the deck. Seagulls resting on the railing were startled and flew away. Some people noticed the two of them and began shouting for someone to intervene.
Too late!
As Zong Yuan blocked a blow from Chi Xu’s elbow, he whispered, “How about a halftime break?”
“No break,” Chi Xu unleashed a killer move, resorting to whatever means necessary. He aimed a kick at Zong Yuan’s groin, saying, “Let’s play out this ‘romantic’ encounter first!”
“Both of you, stop!”
Five or six crew members shouted, “If you don’t cease, for your safety, we will take special measures!”
They were quite hesitant, as neither of these gentlemen seemed like they could be subdued easily. It was truly a helpless situation.
Zong Yuan drifted off for a moment, “What special measures do you think they can use?”
“Damn,” Chi Xu didn’t know whether to laugh or get angry. Did this guy really look down on him like this? Drifting off so blatantly, he exploded. He kicked Zong Yuan’s lower leg, followed by a forceful shove—
Sending the man overboard.
Chi Xu maintained his posture for a moment, his face bewildered. The shouting from the crowd behind him suddenly ceased, reminding Chi Xu that he had indeed just kicked someone off the deck.
“Damn it, save him quickly!”
“Lifeboat! Rope! Someone!”
Chi Xu slowly lowered his leg, unable to believe that Zong Yuan had actually fallen into the sea. How come he hadn’t heard the sound of a heavy object hitting the water?
Cautiously, he approached the side of the ship, stopping half a meter away. The sea was calm, with no disturbance whatsoever. Something was off. He took two steps forward for a better view, leaning over the railing to look directly down. There, he met a pair of eyes that should have fallen into the sea.
“!!!”
The next moment, Chi Xu was pulled down by Zong Yuan, who was leaning against the ship’s side, grabbing his leg!
“Damn! Someone committed suicide together!!!”
A splash, the sound of falling into the water.
Zong Yuan and Chi Xu fell into the sea together. Chi Xu’s eyes widened; he swore he saw a smirk in the man’s eyes!
Oh, damn!
Zong Yuan held onto Chi Xu’s hand with a terrifying strength. Chi Xu kicked his legs a few times but couldn’t break free. Bubbles rose from their lips. Even though they were in the sea, Zong Yuan seemed completely unconcerned. He didn’t swim up, instead holding onto Chi Xu and preventing him from escaping. It was downright domineering!
As they sank deeper, Chi Xu tried to pry open Zong Yuan’s hand. Zong Yuan raised an eyebrow, leisurely observing his actions.
With oxygen becoming scarcer, Chi Xu knew that if he didn’t swim up soon, he would drown. The deep-sea color was enough to instill fear in anyone. Chi Xu struggled to swim upward a couple of times, but with Zong Yuan’s grip, he couldn’t escape even if there was no oxygen left!
Chi Xu glared at Zong Yuan, frantically gesturing to release him. His face had turned blue. ‘Let go! Do you want to die down here?!’
Zong Yuan released his hand with a smug smile.
Chi Xu’s lips had turned pale, his limbs felt weak, and his eyes were starting to blur. His head throbbed dully. Zong Yuan swam over to him, looking relaxed and carefree, showing no signs of Chi Xu’s distress.
Chi Xu saw Zong Yuan tapping his own lips.
Zong Yuan’s intention was clear, and he expressed it vividly. In the clear and icy water under the sunlight, he crossed his hands behind his back, waiting for Chi Xu to make a move.
‘I have oxygen here. If you want it, come and take it.’
Was there even a need to ask?
Chi Xu, like a hungry beast, lunged at Zong Yuan, sealing his mouth forcefully. His tongue boldly pried open Zong Yuan’s lips and impatiently parted his teeth, desperately breathing in the life-saving oxygen.
Greedy sucking and more sucking.
Having just experienced oxygen deprivation, Chi Xu cherished it immensely. He was unwilling to withdraw from Zong Yuan’s mouth, fearing the painful suffocation again. Chi Xu’s instinct made him cling tightly to Zong Yuan, his dizzy head gradually calming, and the blue tint on his face receding.
His eyes met Zong Yuan’s, and the amusement in Zong Yuan’s eyes deepened. He pretended to be surprised, looking at the lips that were still reluctant to leave.
!!!
Chi Xu pushed away from the man underwater, crossed his legs, and swam to the surface.
0046 chuckled, “Use it and discard it.”
Zong Yuan watched Chi Xu, who was getting farther away, then leisurely swam upwards. “Adults have to take responsibility for what they do. Since he took the initiative to kiss me, he should be prepared.”
“Hoo!” Breaking through the water’s surface, Chi Xu gasped for air. Looking around, Zong Yuan had not surfaced yet. His heart skipped a beat, and the next moment, Zong Yuan emerged behind him.
“He’s okay!!!”
Cheers erupted from the people on the boat.
Chi Xu’s limbs were already weak, but he noticed that Zong Yuan didn’t seem to be in the same state. Zong Yuan’s expression was genuinely relaxed. Not only was he not panting heavily, but he also seemed to have energy to spare.
The crew threw down a rope, and Zong Yuan patted Chi Xu. “You go up first.” Chi Xu gave him a complex look, grabbed the rope with both hands and started climbing while the crew pulled from above.
Perhaps the crew didn’t expect them to dive so deep, and probably influenced by the formidable impression Zong Yuan and Chi Xu gave them earlier, they didn’t think, “These two gentlemen might be out of strength.” Instead, they just pulled the rope, waiting for Chi Xu to exert force.
Chi Xu gritted his teeth and climbed a few steps. Suddenly, he felt a warm sensation on his buttocks. He looked down in shock, and Zong Yuan, supporting him, gave a handsome smile.
Zong Yuan patted his buttocks, using his index finger and thumb to playfully knead the flesh at the tip. “Let’s go.”
“…” Chi Xu’s face displayed a spectrum of emotions, enduring humiliation, and climbing!
After getting Chi Xu on the ship, Zong Yuan refused the assistance of the crew. He pulled himself up using the rope. By the time he reached the deck, Chi Xu was nowhere to be seen. He accepted a towel handed to him by a well-meaning person. “Where is he?”
“That gentleman just walked away as soon as he came up!”
Continuing to dry his hair, Zong Yuan rejected the idea of the accompanying doctor wanting to come up for an examination. He was ready to go back to his room. After taking a few steps, a crew member called out to him, “Sir, is this yours?”
He held Chi Xu’s handgun.
Zong Yuan took it from him. “Yes, it’s mine. Thanks.”
He wrapped the handgun in the towel and walked toward his room. After a few steps, he felt like he had forgotten something. What was it?
When he opened the door, oh, he seemed to have, perhaps, possibly, locked the door to Mr. Assassin’s room.
Hopefully, Mr. Assassin would smartly come looking for him.
Sharing a room sounded nice.
Zong Yuan closed the door with a serious and very upright expression.
