Chapter 52.3: 整理衣服

[Tidy up the clothes]

By the time Chen Xing reappeared in front of Gu Lang and Qiu Jiu, an hour had already passed. He looked at the two of them who were still waiting for him to eat, so he apologized with some embarrassment, “I’m sorry, it’s because I came late.”

“It doesn’t matter, it’s only a few hours later than usual. It’s all about the same time.” As soon as Chen Xing’s words fell, Gu Lang immediately picked up the conversation, “By the way, was that bowl of sobering soup useful just now?”

When he thought of the sobering up soup, Chen Xing thought of Gu Lang helping him sort out his clothes just now, and his face began to look uncomfortable again. He coughed softly and said with somewhat averted eyes, “Well, it was very effective. I…I feel much better now.”

Gu Lang served him a bowl of porridge and said softly, “This is newly made porridge. Try it.”

“Hn.” Chen Xing obediently took that porridge, but his eyes didn’t dare to look towards Gu Lang. Although Gu Lang didn’t mind his unreasonable behavior, he himself still felt a bit guilty.

Gu Lang looked at him with a smile at the corner of his mouth and gentle eyes.

Qiu Jiu quietly sipped the warm congee, his eyes constantly darting between Chen Xing and Gu Lang, he always felt that when he wasn’t paying attention, his family’s young master and Chen Xing something else had happened between them and it even had allowed their relationship to get a lot of progress because of it.

Chen Xing just had an extremely uncomfortable breakfast, and it was only after he went to Bao Da Ting’s place and met the person that Bao Da Ting had found for him that he regained slightly comfortable moments. 

Chen Xing’s plan was that his small shop had only just opened so he wasn’t sure how many customers would come, that was why he wasn’t going to hire a lot of people; he himself would be the chef, Qiu Jiu would be the waiter, and he would hire a kitchen helper and a handyman.

Pao Da Ting found one man and one woman for him.

The male was about 17 or 18 years old, and used to work as an apprentice in a big restaurant, only later the restaurant was poorly run and closed down directly, so he lost his job.

Chen Xing directly retained him after asking him a few basic questions and examining his basic knife skills which were okay, he directly kept him to be employed. 

The woman is a woman in her thirties, looking tall and big, with a bright and frank personality.

Chen Xing learnt from Bao Da Ting that this woman is a widow, now a person carrying the child, usually very busy, however her strength is also enough, so after he thought for a while, he agreed to keep (employ) her.

Under the two people’s happy eyes, Chen Xing and they agreed on the wages. Moreover, they also already decided on when to start to work in the future. The three of them are considered to have formally established the employment relationship.

Waiting until Chen Xing and Gu Lang together came out from Bao Da Ting’s place, Chen Xing’s complexion had already returned to normal as usual. He looked at Gu Lang who was coughing a bit after this one trip and said with some concern: “I probably, better go to the shop by myself?”

Gu Lang looked at his worried gaze, shook his head with a thin smile, and said in a warm voice: “These are all old diseases, it doesn’t matter if you walk around or not.”

Looking at Chen Xing’s worried gaze, Gu Lang continued to add, “I know my own body well, I want to accompany you.”

Chen Xing listened to Gu Lang’s warm and soft words, and finally nodded helplessly, so he could only urge him, “Then if you’re not feeling well, be sure to tell me.”

“Hn.” Gu Lang nodded, behaving like an extremely obedient child, as if Chen Xing was the overly worried parent.

Yesterday, they had agreed with those artisans to meet in front of the shop, so they did not bother much and headed straight towards the shop. By the time they arrived, the carpenters who had made the appointment had already been waiting at the entrance.
