Chapter 104.2

Shi Ye’s face was extremely pale under the moonlight. Although Wen Chi couldn’t see Shi Ye’s expression clearly at this moment, he could clearly feel Shi Ye’s body trembling slightly.

Wen Chi hurriedly took off his cloak and wrapped it tightly around Shi Ye’s body, but he didn’t think it was enough, so he simply took off the outer robe and waistcoat together, wrapped the outer robe inside the cloak and folded the waistcoat and placed it under Shi Ye’s head as a pillow.

Wen Chi was only left wearing the inner wear and the icy cold air surrounded him, making him shiver.

Even if the cave is separated from the wind and snow, from time to time there will still be a few strands of night wind blowing in from outside the cave, blowing on Wen Chi’s body, making Wen Chi tremble like autumn leaves. Wen Chi was afraid that if the wind blew a few more times, he would ascend to heaven on the spot.

Wen Chi folded his arms and wandered around the cave and found that there seemed to be someone who had stayed in the cave before. There was a lot of firewood piled up inside the cave. It might be that some passers-by had to stay in the cave temporarily in the cave to keep warm when the mountain was suddenly hit by heavy snow

Fortunately, he still had a fire folder on him.

With great difficulty, Wen Chi dragged Shi Ye, who was wrapped in a cloak into a silkworm baby, into the cave. And then lit the firewood on the side. Although there was a lot of firewood, most of them were damp and Wen Chi could only collect some dry firewood from it.

The firewood was ignited and it made a crackling sound and the warm yellow fire instantly dispelled half of the darkness in the cave.

Wen Chi sat in front of the fire with his legs crossed and his limbs that were almost frozen were gradually warming up. At this moment, he finally felt that he had come back from the brink of death.

He turned his head to look at Shi Ye and saw that most of Shi Ye’s face was covered by the cloak; only a pair of closed eyes were exposed. His long eyelashes trembled violently that it seemed like he was not sleeping peacefully.

Wen Chi propped his chin, staring blankly at Shi Ye’s exposed eye.

There are a lot of messy things in his mind, like a ball of yarn tangled up by a cat. He couldn’t sort it out and he doesn’t even know where to start.

He would never have dreamed that Hua Zi Zang and Concubine Rong would be involved.

But when he thought about it carefully, even if it was unexpected, it seemed to be reasonable: behind Hua Zizang stood the Hua family, while Concubine Rong was naturally supporting her only son, Shi Jin. On the surface, the two of them seem to be in conflict but in fact they have a common identity – Shi Ye.

Concubine Rong wants to abolish the crown prince to support her own son to take the throne and the Hua family wants to abolish the crown prince and place a puppet in the throne. Their goals were the same and only by working together can they get twice the result with half the effort.

For some reason, Wen Chi remembered the content of the original novel – Shi Jin and Wen Liang, husband and wife worked together to overthrow Shi Ye’s rape.

Perhaps the people who really overthrew Shi Ye were not Shi Jin and Wen Liang, but Concubine Rong and the Hua family behind them.

The more Wen Chi thought about it, the more he felt terrified. In the end, he got goosebumps all over his body. He touched his face and hands, which were as cold as Shi Ye’s.

Suddenly, Shi Ye, who was lying in his cloak, moved.

Seeing this, Wen Chi quickly leaned over: “Shi Ye!”

Shi Ye seemed to be having a nightmare. His breathing was particularly rapid, his pale lips parted slightly, as if he was muttering something.

Wen Chi was about to go up to listen to what Shi Ye was saying but he saw Shi Ye open his eyes suddenly, those dark eyes staring at Wen Chi for a moment. He looked very alert, completely opposite from his previously ill appearance.

“Shi Ye…” Wen Chi paused and put his hand on Shi Ye’s cold cheek, “Are you okay?”

Shi Ye didn’t answer but still stared at Wen Chi.

As if he was sure that the person in front of him was Wen Chi himself, the alertness in Shi Ye’s eyes quickly dissipated. He closed his eyes wearily, his hoarse voice muffled out of his chest, “No problem.”

After a pause, he added again softly, “It’s good that you’re okay.”

Wen Chi was stunned after hearing this sentence and suddenly tears rolled out of his eyes.

Once the tears gushed out, it was like breaking a dike, and it could no longer be controlled.

Wen Chi lowered his head, watching his tears pattering down, falling on Shi Ye’s cloak and quickly disappearing.

He touched his face, only to find that his face was already wet with tears.

“I’m fine.” After Wen Chi said in a muffled voice. He couldn’t help reaching out to hug Shi Ye and he buried his face in the cloak that was warmed by the firewood, “Shi Ye, thank you for saving me.”

Wen Chi carefully counted the events that happened before and then suddenly realized that Shi Ye had saved him so many times.

Unfortunately, he had never taken those things to heart.

He seldom delved into Shi Ye’s thoughts. When Shi Ye asked him to leave, he would leave without looking back. If it wasn’t for that force that prevented him from leaving, he might not be in the capital by now.

For some reason, he and Shi Ye seem to have a tacit understanding in a certain aspect. If Shi Ye doesn’t say anything, he doesn’t ask anything. But in the long run, even if they had gradually got closer, they would have soon drifted apart.

The more Wen Chi thought about it, the more uncomfortable he felt, as if a hand had squeezing his neck, making it difficult for him to breathe. He had to lift his face from the cloak and gasped for breaths.

Immediately, he met a pair of slightly opened black eyes.

Wen Chi wasn’t sure if Shi Ye was awake. Seeing Shi Ye’s thin lips moving, he thought that Shi Ye was going to say something to him, so he bent over to Shi Ye and softly called out, “Your Royal Highness?”

They were very close and in order to be able to hear what Shi Ye was saying clearly, Wen Chi almost had his cheek against Shi Ye’s. He opened his eyes wide and saw the thick and long eyelashes under Shi Ye’s dark eyes. .

Suddenly, Shi Ye raised his head up.

Wen Chi couldn’t avoid it—but in fact, he didn’t even think about avoiding it.

Soon after, Wen Chi felt a cold touch from his lips and before he could react, Shi Ye was nibbling and licking his lips.
