Lu Lin went to the kitchen after he spoke with Chen Xiao Mi.
Chen Xiao Cai walked up to Chen Xiao Mi and asked curiously: “What were you guys talking about just now?”
Chen Xiao Mi hesitated for a moment and decided not to tell his little brother about the glass marbles, they belonged to someone else, he didn’t want his little brother to worry.
“We were just talking about going to the city tomorrow.”
Chen Xiao Cai somehow did not buy it, he was sure they were talking about something else.
‘Big brother has changed because of Lu Lin, he is no longer close to me.’ Chen Xiao Cai sighed in his heart.
But now he did not hate Lu Lin, Lu Lin was good and on top of that, he was a great cook.
“That’s all?” Chen Xiao Cai muttered.
Chen Xiao Mi nodded: “Yes, nothing else.”
This was not Chen Xiao Mi’s first time going to the city, he prepared well.
“Do you want me to bring some pork for you?” Lu Lin asked.
Chen Xiao Mi took a glance at Lu Lin and frowned slightly: “I have this, I don’t think you will be able to get to the city if you carry something this heavy.”
‘Oh my, I need to establish my authority in this family, he is a Bio, and he looks down on me, his husband, like this! But it takes about two hours to walk to town, hmm, no wonder villagers don’t walk to town so often and they would organize groups to borrow ox carts together.’ Lu Lin thought.

Lu Lin woke up early to make breakfast, he sneaked back to his shop to get some flour.
Lu Lin was very generous when making the dough, he put eggs, chopped scallions and salt into the dough. Lu Lin tasted the first one, and he was happy with the result. It was a stir-fry that gave a crispy edge yet also a chewy texture.
He continued cooking until he counted the pancakes, there were already seven on the plate. And he had used a total of seven eggs, Lu Lin chuckled as he looked at the eggshells, the villagers would be dumbfounded if they saw so many eggshells.

Lu Lin hid three pancakes on the cash register in the shop so that he could sneak into the shop and fill his stomach if he got hungry on the way to town.
Chen Xiao Mi devoured the pancakes by himself: “These are so good, what are they made of?”
“These are egg pancakes.” Lu Lin replied.
Chen Xiao Mi licked his fingers and smacked his lips: “Eggs again?”
Chen Xiao Mi was surprised by Lu Lin’s lifestyle, he knew the Lu Family was quite rich, but he was still blown away by how generous Lu Lin was when he cooked.
Lu Lin smiled: “I can always find more eggs in the mountains, don’t worry.”
Chen Xiao Mi pursed his lips and said in a playful tone: “You’re very lucky, but I’m afraid there won’t be many eggs left in the mountains.”
That reminded Lu Lin: ‘Hmm, I’ve been so generous lately, I’m afraid we’ll soon finish two baskets of eggs if I continue like this.’
Lu Lin did some calculations in his mind, then he was relieved, there were still many eggs left in the basket.
Lu Lin also cooked some porridge, both were served after a hearty breakfast.
The road to town was rough and rocky. Lu Lin’s legs started to ache not long after, but Chen Xiao Mi walked with great bounce even though he was carrying a heavy basket.
While walking on the rugged mountain path, Lu Lin became so nostalgic, he really missed his little car, it was a cheap second-hand car, but it was a great help.
Lu Lin started panting after walking for an hour nonstop.
“Want to take a break?” Chen Xiao Mi asked.
Lu Lin’s lips twitched when he looked at Chen Xiao Mi, Chen Xiao Mi’s breathing was regular just like when they were walking on a flat road. He knew Chen Xiao Mi was just being considerate when he suggested a break.
Lu Lin forced a smile and said: “I think we should hurry up and continue our journey.”
Chen Xiao Mi looked at Lu Lin meaningfully and said: “Alright.”
Chen Xiao Mi led the way and Lu Lin tried hard to keep up, but Lu Lin felt Chen Xiao Mi start to slow down after he realized that he was struggling.
Lu Lin was touched: ‘Everyone says that this Chen Xiao Mi is fierce and scary, but he has a warm heart.’
Lu Lin sneaked into the shop and picked up two pancakes: “Chen Xiao Mi, do you want pancakes?”
Chen Xiao Mi turned around breathlessly: “You can think it’s a meal!”
With that, Chen Xiao Mi still took the pancakes and ate them happily.
Lu Lin sneered, he saw that Chen Xiao Mi had starved himself in order to support the family and feed his younger brother.
“It’s still warm, how come?”
“I kept it in my arms.” Lu Lin replied immediately.
Chen Xiao Mi took a quick glance at Lu Lin upon hearing that.
Lu Lin wasn’t sure whether Chen Xiao Mi was convinced or not.
