Su Siyuan realized the grim fact that he wasn’t wearing clothes. His face turned red as he turned around to fetch his fallen clothes not far away, his figure tense to the point of being awkward.
Bai Tang quietly moved aside a small leaf and stole a glance at Su Siyuan.
“What are you doing? Do you know how ridiculous you look right now?” the system commented.
“Hush,” Bai Tang nervously blocked his line of sight with the leaf. “I’m just curious. Curious about what the body of a sloth looks like. They say sloths are lazy, so I wanted to know if Su Siyuan has any excess fat.”
The system let out a long “oh.” “Why explain in such detail? Don’t humans have a saying, ‘explanation is a disguise’?”
Bai Tang: “…”
This lousy system.
Seizing the opportunity, the system extended an olive branch to Bai Tang. “So, does Su Siyuan have any excess fat? I’m curious too.” The system was indeed curious, but it could only see a mosaic, so it couldn’t discover the answer on its own.
“No excess fat. Long limbs, a mermaid line, and eight-pack abs—all present,” Bai Tang marveled. “Why does the humanoid form look nothing like the prototype? This isn’t scientific.”
“You observed quite carefully and comprehensively,” the system commented. Faced with Bai Tang’s gradually dangerous gaze, the system quickly changed the subject. “Becoming self-aware, and you’re still concerned about whether it’s scientific or not?”
While Bai Tang and the system were chatting, Su Siyuan, now wearing his damp clothes, returned. The wet shirt clung to Su Siyuan’s body, outlining the contours of his well-defined muscles. Su Siyuan took out his phone from his pocket, pressed the power button, and surprisingly found it still functional.
The light from the screen illuminated Su Siyuan’s face, a strand of curled hair falling onto his forehead. “It’s me. I’m at the big park in City A. Send someone to pick me up.”
Su Siyuan had been reduced to his original form earlier, experiencing a significant decline in strength, and even lacking the energy to speak. Thanks to Bai Tang’s treatment, he had mostly recovered, and his speech was faster now, although still a bit slower than normal.
However, this slightly slower pace didn’t make him sound sluggish; instead, it added a sense of deliberate elegance.
He ended the call and walked over to Bai Tang. He squatted down and extended his hand towards the plant.
Su Siyuan’s palm was broad, with long lifelines and career lines. His fingers were slender, making it a truly beautiful hand. “Can I hold you in the palm of my hand?”
Huh?
Bai Tang, confused, lifted his head and met Su Siyuan’s eyes. His eye sockets were deep, the corners of his eyes slightly drooping. His gaze was focused and gentle, and this sentence carried countless traces of tenderness.
“What a terrible line,” the system exclaimed.
There is no milk tea advertisement in this world. Only Bai Tang and the system can understand this joke. Bai Tang sternly scolded the system, “What are you always thinking about?”
After scolding the system, Bai Tang hummed and hawed towards Su Siyuan, “Accepted.” The humming and hawing were due to the inexplicable twist of emotions in his heart. Some words, when spoken by certain people, always carried a hint of flirtation.
Clearly, it was shameless talk. But perhaps it was the natural upturn of the other person’s mouth that added a little hook to even the spoken words.
The emerald green grass, with its little tendrils, climbed Su Siyuan’s thumb using small leaf blades. Once up there, Bai Tang sat in the palm of Su Siyuan’s hand, feeling the continuous influx of energy into his body. Satisfied, he stretched out his small leaves.
“What’s your name?” Su Siyuan carefully cradled Bai Tang in his hands, lowering his gaze to ask.
Bai Tang noticed that Su Siyuan’s eyelashes were very long, resembling two small fans or butterfly wings.
“I’m called Bai Tang.” Bai Tang couldn’t resist using a small leaf to flick Su Siyuan’s eyelashes.
Su Siyuan blinked, watching Bai Tang’s fluttering leaves in front of him, and asked, “Which ‘Tang’ character is it?”
“The ‘Tang’ from ‘Haitang1Chinese flowering crabapple‘.” Bai Tang explained that many people misunderstood his name to mean “white sugar.”
“Bai Tang.” Su Siyuan’s tone was extremely sincere, a smile on his face akin to praise. “The flowering crabapple is beautiful.”
“Ah, the flowering crabapple is beautiful~” The system wavered for a second, quickly adopting a serious tone. “Why are you spouting such profound truths? Indeed, the flowering crabapple is beautiful.” The transition in demeanor was as if experiencing a split personality.
Bai Tang: “…”
These two lousy beings.
The atmosphere became a bit awkward, and Bai Tang changed the subject, “Did you just call someone to pick us up? Is the person who came a monster?”
“A human, my assistant,” Su Siyuan introduced. “I work in the medicinal herbs industry and have been running a company for the past few years.”
Sloths can promote plant growth. Su Siyuan, with his innate abilities, produced rare medicines in the market, earning plenty of wealth.
The assistant was highly efficient. Su Siyuan, holding Bai Tang, waited for a while and soon saw a car approaching through the rain curtain.
Assistant Chen hurriedly opened the car door, ran to Su Siyuan with an umbrella, and looked at the drenched appearance of their CEO. “Mr. Su, how are you? You disappeared suddenly earlier. We’ve been searching for you. We were about to call the police, but Mr. Su’s father stopped everyone.”
“It’s nothing.” Su Siyuan sat in the back seat, using a dry towel to wipe his face.
Earlier, while at the company, he suddenly sensed the signs of a celestial tribulation. The tribulation came abruptly. Fearing that it might harm innocent people, he hastily left.
“Mr. Su…” Assistant Chen saw Su Siyuan wiping his hands in the rearview mirror. Su Siyuan’s movements were always unhurried. When wiping his fingers with the towel, he did it gradually, not missing even the gaps between his fingers.
Even in a simple wiping motion, when done by Su Siyuan, it exuded extreme elegance. This elegance came from the bones, a combination of refinement, indulgence, and a carefree leisure.
Su Siyuan was secretly praised by employees as the man most women would want to marry. Many female employees were fans of Su Siyuan.
A young, handsome, and gentle CEO—How can he not be loved?
Su Siyuan wiped his hands clean with care, then delicately cradled a small grass on his lap. Under the warm yellow light, Su Siyuan gazed at the small grass with a tender and focused look, as if admiring a priceless treasure.
‘Any female client looked at by Mr. Su like this would probably sign any contract.’ Chen Tingfeng couldn’t help but think.
Su Siyuan raised his eyes and met Chen Tingfeng’s gaze. He asked softly, “What’s wrong?” Noticing Chen Tingfeng’s conflicted expression, Su Siyuan smiled gently. “I’m fine. Drive, I’m tired and want to get home early.”
After saying this, Su Siyuan leaned back in the car seat, closing his eyes with some fatigue. However, his hands maintained their initial position—encircling the unknown small grass, as if protecting a precious item.
It seemed to be something very important. Perhaps a rare medicinal herb? Chen Tingfeng wondered curiously. He wanted to take another look at the grass, but Su Siyuan concealed it so well that he could only glimpse the elusive green between his fingers.
Green, like a brilliantly colored jade.
Not sure if it was Chen Tingfeng’s illusion, but he always felt that the grass moved a bit as if adjusting its position, lying comfortably in Su Siyuan’s palm.
It must be a mistake. How could a grass move on its own? Chen Tingfeng refocused on driving seriously.
Bai Tang lay casually in Su Siyuan’s palm, and bit by bit, energy emerged from Su Siyuan’s palm. Bai Tang stretched out his small leaves, enjoying the joy of being embraced by the energy.
These energies were absorbed by Bai Tang’s body, silently transforming it. When the energy accumulated to a certain extent, Bai Tang would undergo a profound transformation.
The surroundings were so quiet that only the sound of rain rustling could be heard. Bai Tang was almost falling asleep in the peaceful atmosphere.
The sound of the car door opening woke up Bai Tang. He was brought down by Su Siyuan and saw the villa where Su Siyuan lived. The villa was a typical mansion, but the surroundings were exceptionally beautiful, with so many trees forming a small forest, and the river gleaming under the night sky.
Su Siyuan led Bai Tang into the house. The lights in the hall were on. Bai Tang saw an old man sitting on the sofa with a cane. The old man had white hair and a spirited demeanor, but he seemed a bit hunched.
Not just a bit hunched, but extremely so, as if he had a large pot strapped to his back.
“Grandpa.” Su Siyuan called out to the hunched old man. Grandpa Su, holding the cane, trembled slightly. He glared at Su Siyuan, playfully growling, “You little rascal.” He couldn’t finish his sentence as he tightened his grip on the cane. With a gentle tap on Su Siyuan’s leg, he said, “Trying to scare me to death?”
Grandpa Su threw a tantrum like an old child, saying, “My turtle shell almost popped out.” He took off his coat, revealing a massive and sturdy turtle shell.
Grandpa Su, whose full name was Su Chenggui, was a thousand-year-old tortoise. Many years ago, he found Su Siyuan and raised this slow-moving little monster as his own child.
When Su Siyuan disappeared, and a massive thunder tribulation appeared in the sky, Grandpa Su couldn’t even eat. Every thunderclap made his heart tighten. Normally, as a powerful monster, he rarely revealed his true form. However, this time, his excessive worry made his turtle shell pop out, and he couldn’t retract it.
Each monster’s thunder tribulation is unique. Some monsters can predict its arrival, while others cannot. Su Siyuan belonged to the latter category, only sensing the thunder tribulation when it was about to happen. Therefore, the sudden arrival of the thunder tribulation caught the Su family off guard.
After tapping Su Siyuan and confirming that their little monster had indeed returned safely, Grandpa Su finally relaxed, putting the hanging heart back into his stomach. “You really have a charmed life, you little rascal!”
Su Siyuan felt a warm sensation in his heart as he presented Bai Tang in his palm to Grandpa Su. “Grandpa, this is my lifesaver, Bai Tang. I successfully transcended the tribulation this time, all thanks to him.”
Only then did Grandpa Su notice that the little monster had been holding a small plant in his hands. To ordinary people, it might appear as just a lush green grass, but to monsters, the plant exuded an extraordinary aura, surrounded by the power of thunder. In some time, it will undoubtedly evolve into a powerful monster!
Grandpa Su’s fiery gaze fell on Bai Tang, startling the quietly observing Bai Tang.
Bai Tang: “…hello?”
