Chapter 103 – Ruanruan’s Revival

He Ruge opened the Star Wars live broadcast.

Right now, the insect queen was on the first battleship, already gnawing off a quarter, while Xi Guican was rushing back, which would take at least half a star hour.

This was the true speed of life and death.

The barrage has exploded into chaos. In moments of crisis, human nature reveals itself. There were all kinds of reactions, but those cursing He Ruge outnumber those cursing Xi Guican by several times.

As a writer, He Ruge has long experienced online abuse. At this moment, the barrage was no different from before, except that there were more curses. Since encountering that brainless hater, He Ruge’s resilience has increased a lot. He can calmly set keywords to block, keeping the barrage clean.

Keywords like “blue-eyed disaster,” “beauty causing national disaster,” relatively elegant, made He Ruge think of Bao Si from “Playing With Fire Amongst the Warlords.”

Perhaps tomorrow’s live broadcast story could tell a series of disasters.

He Ruge didn’t pay too much attention to these haters. Not everyone can be loved by everyone. Some people regard money as dirt. Isn’t it normal for him to be disliked by someone?

And with so many people liking him, whether it’s the barrage fiercely defending him in the Star Wars live chat, or the fans desperately giving gifts to comfort him in the “Lull You to Sleep” live chat.

These strangers, along with Xi Guican, defend him. This is his luck. Perhaps the luck of being a koi fish was all spent on meeting so many people who loved him.

He Ruge remembered that he hadn’t checked the second level of Ear Whispering. He opened the game and saw that the progress bar for merit completion had reached 40%. He felt he hadn’t done anything, yet the progress bar had increased on its own.

He claimed the rewards for the second layer.

When the familiar Poké Ball appeared on the screen, He Ruge’s heart skipped a beat.

【Soul of No.19 is sleeping in the Poké Ball. His body is in Land Class 1. When you open the Poké Ball, No.19 will be reborn】

【Open the Poké Ball?】

【Yes】

【No】

Revive Ruanruan?!

He Ruge couldn’t believe his eyes. He read this reward three times to make sure he wasn’t dreaming. After confirming he wasn’t dreaming, He Ruge stood up and hurried to Land Class 1.

The night wind was cool, like the night wind that blew when he watched the stars with Ruanruan that night. He Ruge rushed to the classroom. Under the astonished eyes of Shui Xirui and the other kids, he ran to Ruanruan’s seat. The little rabbit was still sleeping peacefully with closed eyes.

This was his Ruanruan.

Trembling, He Ruge opened the light brain. His index finger, with a red mole, pointed to “Yes.”

The snow-white rabbit ears twitched slightly. Ruanruan opened his ruby-like eyes and saw the nervous young man in front of him.

He rubbed his eyes with small paws and then sweetly said, “Jiao~”

He Ruge’s heart melted at the long-lost sound of Jiao. He was so excited that he didn’t know what to say for a moment, so he just hugged the freshly revived Ruanruan to his chest and whispered softly, “Ruanruan.”

Shui Xirui was stunned. Because since Ruanruan came to this class until just now, he had never spoken a word. If it weren’t for the machine confirming his vocal cords were normal, Shui Xirui would have thought Ruanruan was mute.

Did He Ruge have some kind of magic that could make all the kids better?

“Did Ruanruan just speak?!”

Shui Xirui’s voice suddenly rose. When she noticed Ruanruan was startled by her sudden outburst, she quickly covered her mouth and squeezed out a friendly smile.

With moist red eyes, Ruanruan looked at Shui Xirui. Two memories clashed in his mind. For a moment, he was a bit confused and didn’t understand the sudden appearance of the little teacher and Blue Whale Orphanage in his memories.

But he remembered that Little Teacher Shui was as gentle as Jiao, so Ruanruan sweetly called out, “Little Teacher Shui~”

Once again, Shui Xirui exclaimed in amazement.

She was pleasantly surprised, “Is… Is that… are you calling me?”

She had been teaching Land Class 1 for so long, but it was the first time she had heard such a sweet and milky “Little Teacher Shui.”

This was — so touching!!!

Was Ruanruan an angel?!

Shui Xirui was so touched that she couldn’t even remember to ask what was going on. She forgot to ask what “Jiao” meant.

But someone helped her ask this question.

“Jiao? Is that Mr. He’s nickname?”

A black-haired officer in black military uniform stood at the door, smiling. There were seven stars on his shoulders, representing his rank from Major General to General.

This unnamed black-haired officer was a General.

He Ruge hugged Ruanruan and looked up, finding the face of this unexpected guest familiar. After careful consideration, he suddenly realized that this was the officer who had just video called Xi Guican and sent him to the front line.

For some reason, his demon mark began to burn.

A slight burning sensation, not obvious, like the unease spreading in his heart.

He Ruge stood up, holding Ruanruan in his arms. He unconsciously took a step back.

“Are you here to see Guican? He’s already left for the front lines.”

The general glanced deeply at He Ruge, his black eyes like swallowing abysses. He noticed He Ruge’s retreat, so his lips curled slightly.

“No.”

“I’m here to see you.”

A indescribable sense of horror surged up He Ruge’s spine, making his demonic tattoos burn fiercely. A voice in his mind screamed for him to run.

He hugged Ruanruan with one hand, quickly trying to bite his finger.

But the unexpected guest in front of him was faster than him. His hand, seemingly made of steel, grabbed He Ruge’s neck, lifting him up from the ground like a little chick.

The room fell into a momentary silence as the light cast their shadows on the ground.

He Ruge struggled to breathe, making meaningless sounds as his demonic tattoos burned him all over like a fever. He was powerless, unable even to hold onto Ruanruan.

He wanted to cough, to hold onto Ruanruan, to bite his finger, but his eyelids grew heavier. He could feel a cold gaze calmly observing him, like a researcher watching a lab rat, or a chef sizing up a fish.

Shui Xirui’s scream pierced the silent night. The black-haired officer didn’t turn back. His slender shadow seemed to writhe like a spirit snake, silently transforming into a monstrous creature. This shadow creature prowled on the ground, opening its mouth towards Shui Xirui’s shadow, swallowing it like a greedy snake.

Shui Xirui froze, like a puppet frozen in place. The babies in the room began to cry frantically, unnoticed, as the shadow monster expanded to the size of the entire room, its mouth gaping wide enough to devour everyone’s shadows.

Just as the shadow monster was about to swallow everyone’s shadows, Ruanruan, in He Ruge’s arms, suddenly jumped down and shivered as he stood in front of He Ruge, emitting a fierce “chirp.”

That chirp seemed to stab into the black-haired officer’s mind, as well as into the shadow monster.

[Ruanruan’s Ability]: “100% Attention Magnet” When the adorable Ruanruan appears, regardless of age or gender, good or bad, their attention will be drawn to Ruanruan~

The hand around He Ruge’s neck involuntarily loosened, and he fell to the ground. He gasped for air like a dying fish. As his chaotic mind regained clarity, He Ruge quickly bit his fingertip, simultaneously with the black-haired officer: “Xi Gui—”

Sharp teeth gleamed. The man grabbed Ruanruan’s long ears, ignoring Ruanruan’s desperate kicking, and opened his mouth towards Ruanruan’s little head. His dark eyes filled with malice stared at He Ruge.

As if saying, if you shout, then I’ll eat him.

A bone-chilling cold spread through He Ruge’s body. He looked at Ruanruan but couldn’t utter the last word.

“Shh.”

The black-haired officer pressed a finger to his lips.

The coldness of death.

All the babies cried helplessly, as if it were the sound of He Ruge’s world falling apart.

He Ruge heard his own dry voice, “Who are you?”

The man calmly stroked Ruanruan’s back as if petting his own beloved pet. He looked at the collapsed youth without any emotional color in his eyes. The youth’s face was pale, trembling as if he were a lamb on the sacrificial altar, his eyes filled with fear, watery.

There was no emotional fluctuation in his pitch-black eyes, like a stagnant pool.

However, when the scent of blood emanated from He Ruge’s bitten finger, the man’s pupils suddenly contracted.

Grabbing the restless rabbit, the black-haired officer walked step by step towards He Ruge, the silent sound of his military boots echoing on the ground. He squatted down in front of this person, so close that he could clearly see the pain, despair, and hatred in the other’s eyes.

This was his favorite mental food.

His rough fingers reached towards those bright eyes, wanting to touch the moist eyeballs, but the other closed his eyes, and he could only feel the thin eyelids.

His fingers slid down to the slender and fragile neck, where a terrifying bruise appeared, as if wearing a collar.

At this close distance, what flooded his nostrils was the sweet smell of this person’s blood. He wiped the blood from the other’s fingertip and licked it with his tongue. The sweet taste of blood conquered his taste buds in an instant.

The black-haired officer closed his eyes in enjoyment, a satisfied smile appearing on his face, a smile that even relaxed his brows, but plunged He Ruge into an icy abyss.

“I suddenly can’t bear to kill you.”

Icy fingers crawled up He Ruge’s cheeks as if they were spiders, this man cupped He Ruge’s face, looking at He Ruge with an icy and clammy gaze that carried a sense of morbid pleasure as he softly said, “Let me raise you, okay?”

Rough fingertips pressed against He Ruge’s lips, the smile on his face disappeared, replaced by a sharp icy coldness, a vague murderous intent surfacing in his tone, “You’ve already rejected me twice.”

I fell in love with you at first sight, so much so that I couldn’t wait to eat you in one bite.

From the first time he saw the live feed, the desire to devour this person had welled up in his heart, but it was so hard to want to raise a food and give that food the gift of being able to live, but he was actually rejected unknowingly.

Now, however, he was prepared to give the other party another chance.

“If you refuse me again, I will eat everyone here oh.” Taotie chuckled.
