Extra Chapter 21

He Ruge was packing up, putting Bobo’s fairy tale books and snacks into the spatial button. He was preparing to take Bobo on an impromptu trip.

When they stood at the doorway, two white tigers, one large and one small, turned their heads in unison to look over.

Baldy asked curiously, “Daddy, Brother, where are you going?”

“To experience life,” He Ruge said with a smile.

Today, Bobo asked him, what was life.

If Baldy was like a trumpet that goes “toot, toot, toot”, then Bobo was usually quiet but sometimes astounded them with philosophical questions.

Every time Bobo raised a question, He Ruge couldn’t give him a satisfactory answer. So this time, he planned to take Bobo out to see if they could find the answers to those questions.

Upon hearing this, Baldy dashed over and hugged He Ruge’s thigh, excitedly saying, “I want to experience life too!”

“Experiencing life might be tiring, Baldy. Are you sure you want to go out? If we do go, no complaining about being tired later.”

He Ruge squatted down and rubbed Baldy’s small head.

“It’s okay, let Daddy carry me, then I won’t get tired.”

Baldy looked towards Xi Guican confidently.

Following Baldy’s gaze, He Ruge realized Baldy’s words made a lot of sense. This large white tiger could run and even fly, with its thick, soft fur providing shock absorption. It was an excellent means of transportation.

The giant white tiger wrapped its tail around Baldy, placing Baldy on its back, while Bobo and He Ruge sat comfortably on its broad back.

The tiger’s paws treaded on a thick layer of purple tree leaves. Unlike the other yellowing leaves, the purple trees in autumn turned the purple forest into a misty deep purple. He Ruge looked up at the sky obscured by the leaves.

Feeling relaxed and enjoying the scenery with Bobo and Baldy in his arms was very comfortable.

He Ruge remembered a news story he had once seen. There was a naughty child who didn’t want to go to school, so his mother took him on a hike to pick up trash. After a whole day of picking up trash, the naughty child experienced the hardships of life and the difficulty of making money, and understood the joy of learning. Since then, he studied hard and made progress every day.

However, both Bobo and Baldy were so obedient. If they really picked up trash, it would be for environmental protection. Just as He Ruge thought about this, suddenly a tender, pink paw sneaked under his eyes—it was Baldy’s hind paw, “Daddy, pinchy pinchy~”

He Ruge: “…”

Baldy was truly a cub who knew how to enjoy himself.

Bobo reached out his small hand, trying to catch the floating tree leaves. Baldy also imitated, raising his paw.

Baldy’s four paws were busy: his left front paw wanted to high-five Bobo, his right front paw reached out to catch leaves, his left hind paw enjoyed a massage, and his right hind paw stepped on Xi Guican.

After the purple forest came a pine forest. Baldy remembered the little thieves who stole his candy, so he snarled fiercely at passing squirrels.

The squirrels in the interstellar were quite brave. Those squirrels who heard Baldy’s roar before they saw him curiously poked their heads out from behind the big tree. When they saw the huge white tiger, they all fled in a rush.

So actually, what really scared away the squirrels wasn’t Baldy’s roaring, but the imposing white tiger. Yet Baldy felt quite proud of himself, somewhat flaunting his prowess.

After passing through the third forest, they finally reached a paved road.

The autumn evening at eight o’clock was quiet. The trees on both sides of the road had already shed their leaves, and the birds perched on the branches. Their fluffy figures seemed like wigs on the barren trees.

Baldy was still immersed in the excitement of scaring off the squirrels. Suddenly, on the deserted road, he howled loudly, with his unexpectedly high-pitched, milk-like voice echoing far. Several birds were startled and flew away from the dry trees.

He Ruge rubbed Baldy’s small head helplessly, “It’s a good thing no one lives here, otherwise wouldn’t you be disturbing people’s dreams?”

Baldy lifted his tail, then howled at the flock of birds on the dry trees a few times, but the effect wasn’t as good as his first roar. Not only did the remaining seventy or eighty birds not move, but the birds that had flown away initially also came back.

This left Baldy quite embarrassed. However, Baldy was not discouraged. He stretched his neck and howled loudly. The birds weren’t bombarded away by this tender tiger roar, but Xi Guican felt like his ears were going to burst. To get Baldy to shut up sooner, Xi Guican chose—

“Roar!!!”

The giant white tiger howled towards the sky, and in an instant, the tiger’s roar, like rolling thunder, scared away all the birds. Baldy, unwilling to be left behind, quickly followed suit with his chaotic howls.

After being roared at by the two giant white tigers, the trees on both sides of the road were truly bare this time. There was a sense of desolation, as if a thousand mountains had no birds flying, and ten thousand paths had no human footprints.

Baldy looked at the barren trees and nodded in satisfaction, saying to He Ruge, “Daddy, pinchy pinchy little wings~”

Usually, Baldy liked to stick to Xi Guican, but when it came to massages, he preferred to find He Ruge. This was because Xi Guican always did it perfunctorily, pinching for three or four minutes before declaring the massage over. He Ruge, on the other hand, would pinch for at least ten minutes. In return, Baldy would also knead He Ruge’s wrist or back.

He Ruge flattened the hefty Baldy like a pancake, took out essential oil from the spatial button, sprayed it on his hands, and then gently massaged Baldy’s small wings.

Baldy’s little wings had grown another round, now the size of a baby’s palm. The sparse feathers on them were gradually becoming denser. It felt good to touch, and He Ruge found it comfortable to touch, which made Baldy so comfortable that his short legs twitched.

In the past, they used to walk towards the nursery on this road. This time, Xi Guican changed direction towards the direction of the nursing home.

Along this road, heading north would lead to flowers, windmills, lively cubs, and the Guican Ruge Orphanage.

Heading south, one would see haystacks, withered vines, elderly people in their twilight years, and a nursing home specifically for retired interstellar veterans.

The gatekeeper of the nursery, who was missing two fingers, went home after work, which was also this nursing home.
