Chapter 67- Pinky Promise
Xi Guican put down the notebook, using the back of his hand to roughly wipe away a tear that was about to fall from his eyelashes.
He couldn’t forgive Mao Zhengyong, but he wouldn’t hold a grudge against Mao Zixie.
Just like the so-called “son repaying his father’s debt,” since someone in the Mao family had already died, let it be.
He was tired.
Xi Guican transformed into his beast form, walked to the bathtub, and soaked in the hair-growing bath. Now he wasn’t as bald as before; after another ten days or so of nurturing, it should be… not too obvious, not too ugly.
The energy obtained from killing the insect race in the game was all absorbed by the small wings of Xi Guican in reality. The wings, which were originally the size of a thumb, were now as large as a middle finger. After ensuring that his abundantly furry small wings were soaked in the hair-growing bath, the big white tiger bathed expressionlessly, only revealing a big head above the water.
The whirlpool mental devouring disorder had been cured, but the lost fur wouldn’t grow back immediately. The only good news was that now, no matter how happy or angry Xi Guican was, he wouldn’t shed fur like before.
After each hair regrowth bath, there would be a feeling of exhaustion in the abdomen, like diarrhea, but this wasn’t a physiological need; it was just a side effect of the bath. Xi Guican could only curl up like a prawn and endure the discomfort alone.
He wasn’t afraid of pain but feared the internal weakness. In the past, Xi Guican could only endure it forcibly. But now he had a good distraction, which was “He Ruge.”
Thinking of He Ruge, everything would be better.
The big white tiger rested his big head on the edge of the bathtub, closed his eyes, and began to sing not very skillfully, “Two tigers, two tigers, run fast, run fast~”
His big paws happily paddled in the bathtub.
“One without eyes~” the closed tiger eyes opened and closed again, “One without a tail~”
The tiger tail fiercely slapped the water, creating a splashing sound, as lively as Nezha* stirring up the sea.

“So cute~ so cute~”
Completely immersed in his own world, the big white tiger shook his head and swayed, shamelessly praising himself for being cute.
The bathroom echoed with the powerful singing of the big white tiger, the deep and gentle roar of the tiger perfectly blending with the sound of water.
If Mao Zixie were to witness this scene, Xi Guican’s fierce image in his mind might shatter on the spot.
Having successfully comforted the big white tiger, Xi Guican coaxed him out of the bathtub, shook off the water from his body, and after drying, he turned back into a less fluffy big white tiger.
The white tiger strolled into the energy crystal storage room. Originally absorbing energy crystals from a distance, the big white tiger suddenly turned his tiger mouth towards one of the energy crystals.
Blue eyes flashed with a very soft color fluctuation, and he carefully kissed the energy crystal.
Just like secretly kissing that person.
It felt good, and he became happy again.
After a nap, He Ruge logged into the game. Today, Xi Guican was particularly clingy, standing next to him, gradually getting closer. Then, his pinky finger restlessly moved, cautiously touching He Ruge’s finger.
Not knowing what Xi Guican was up to, He Ruge decided to remain calm and respond to changes with an unchanging attitude.
The sneaky little pinky finally hooked onto He Ruge’s little finger. He Ruge glanced at Xi Guican and asked, “What are you doing? Do you want to make a pinky promise with me?”
Xi Guican, who wanted to hold hands with He Ruge but was too embarrassed to say it, replied, “What’s a pinky promise?”
“It’s a way for kids to make mutual promises. If two kids are willing to hook their pinkies, it means they have an agreement, a promise that both sides won’t easily break,” He Ruoge patiently explained.
Without realizing the implications, the snowy-white tiger tail instantly stood upright. Xi Guican looked at He Ruge and whispered, “Then I want to make a pinky promise with you.”
He Ruoge: “???”
Are you a child, darling?
The beautiful youth in front of him still had a lingering innocence, currently maintaining the posture of interlocking pinkies with him. It really looked like that of a child.
Generally, when it didn’t involve matters of principle, He Ruge wouldn’t refuse Xi Guican. If he wanted to make a pinky promise, then so be it; it wasn’t the same as touching the buttocks or kissing on the lips.
Since their lips touched, although He Ruge didn’t say anything explicitly, his actions, particularly not sleeping with Xi Guican, revealed his stance. Although he had some emotions for Xi Guican that went beyond paternal love, Xi Guican was still too young, appearing like a minor, and He Ruge couldn’t bring himself to cross that line.
“So, what kind of agreement do you want to make with me?”
He Ruge asked gently. This gentle attitude, rather than being directed towards a lover, was more like taking care of a younger person.
Some people are born with the tolerance of the elderly, regardless of age and experience.
Xi Guican originally wanted to say, “Next time you leave, you must talk to me”
But when he thought about it, he felt that it was too much of a loss, and he wasted an opportunity to make an agreement with He Ruge.
So, could they agree on something like this—
Can you, like I like you, just like me a little?
Not too much.
Xi Guican’s fingertips twitched slightly as he lowered his gaze and softly said, “The agreement is that we… can we hold hands every day?”
Only people who like each other will hold hands.
If we hold hands every day, doesn’t that mean we like each other every day?
“Okay.”
He Yuge demonstrated the process of making a pinky promise with his own hands and then hooked Xi Guican’s pinky.
“Let’s not rush to hook thumbs just yet. We still need a ‘pledge’ for our pinky promise.”
Facing those slightly puzzled blue eyes, He Yuge recited a childish ‘pledge’.
“Making a promise to stick together for a hundred years, whoever breaks it is a little dog.”
He thought Xi Guican might not accept such a shameless line for a while, but to his surprise, Xi Guican immediately recited along with him:
“Let’s seal…”
Pinkies hooked.
“the pledge.”
Thumbs pressed together.
The two hands swayed in the air leisurely, as if immersed in stagnant time, “For a hundred years without change, whoever breaks it is a little dog.”
Xi Guican looked up at He Yuge. He always stole glances at him when He Yuge wasn’t paying attention.
He thought, if we’re not allowed to change for a hundred years, then we must stay together for a hundred years.
But a hundred years is too short.
Could it be changed to a thousand years, ten thousand years, a lifetime, forever and ever…
But the person in front of him still seemed oblivious.
He smiled and said, “Let’s twist our hands together. Look, when two hands making a pinky promise are suddenly twisted, doesn’t it look like a heart?”
A heart formed by his left hand and He Yuge’s right hand appeared before them.
Suddenly, Xi Guican didn’t want to let go. He didn’t want to let go of the person in front of him for a lifetime.
The fifth experiment allowed He Yuge to live a happy life like retirement. He occasionally changed Xi Guican’s outfits, sitting in front of the monitoring screen admiring the young man’s appearance breaking through the dimensional barrier. However, ten days later, Xi Guican couldn’t fit into those cute clothes anymore.
The handsome youth grew into a fine young man as if he had consumed a magical potion.
The youth’s facial features on the screen were sharp and sleek, as if the days of slaughter had sharpened his blade, removing the rust and revealing its original edge.
He was half a head taller than He Yuge, and when Xi Guican put on the black Hanfu that He Yuge had bought, he looked like a lone swordsman seeking victory.
The young man in the wide-sleeved robe leaped towards the insectoids with his sword. As his robes fluttered, his cold and piercing eyes were as chilling as an icy pond.
Bodies collapsed, and as the young man swept his sleeves and departed, it reminded He Yuge of a poem—
Ten steps to kill one man, no trace left behind for a thousand miles. Once the deed is done, he brushes off his robes and disappears, hiding deeply from both fame and name*.
