Chapter 99- Star Wars: Enemy Kill
As the running exercise music played, the cubs ran on the big playground. In Class 2, a few lazy naughty kids clung to the elephant’s belly, letting the elephant carry them around in circles.
The naughty chickens also followed suit, refusing to leave Xiong Xin Hao’s arms. The two chickens poked their heads out, chirping and chatting with Xiong Xin Hao.
He Ruge and Shui Xirui found it amusing, so they didn’t pull the ground chickens out. They saw it as an opportunity for these three new friends to bond.
While the cubs were exercising, He Ruge quietly opened his light brain in the corner, intending to watch the Star Wars live broadcast featuring Xi Guican.
Just as he entered the live broadcast room, He Ruge saw Xi Guican standing on the spacecraft. He and a group of officers seemed to have just come out of a discussion room. He Ruge noticed that although Xi Guican’s position among these officers was not the highest—
Each officer wore a pitch-black military uniform with a silver badge on their shoulders. Xi Guican’s badge had three pentagonal stars, while there were two officers beside him with badges bearing four pentagonal stars.
However, from the body language and the way they looked at Xi Guican, He Ruge could sense the respect and awe they had for him.
As they walked out of the discussion room, everyone subconsciously made way for Xi Guican. The officer with silver hair and blue eyes might dislike being photographed by the portable machines. He wore black leather gloves and pulled down the brim of his military cap with his hand, casting a shadow over his pale face, making his high nose bridge stand out.
He walked quickly, his cape fluttering in the air with a sharp curve. The officers behind him kept a distance of three steps from the cape. Only after the man walked out quickly did they silently follow behind Xi Guican.
The barrage answered He Ruge’s confusion:
“The only mech pilot capable of single-handedly killing ultra-high-level insectoid creatures, his aura is different.”
“Ah, I finally waited for the day when Xi Guican recovered from his illness! Let’s see how arrogant the insectoids are this time! Without those commanding figures of the fattest insectoids, what’s the use of having more medium and low-level insectoids?! They’re just like a pile of loose sand!”
“I’ve always felt that the Star Wars has been miserable in the past two years! So many people have to die every time just to kill one ultra-high-level insectoid!”
“Tsk tsk tsk, Xi Guican’s fans are celebrating too early. Your home’s invincible general has just recovered from a serious illness. Don’t try to show off by killing an ultra-high-level insectoid and then collapsing from illness again.”
“What’s that in front? Even during his recovery, the male god can still crush trash like you. What’s the point of talking nonsense?”
“The provoking barrage has been reported. The male god has been silent for only two years, and some brain-dead people have forgotten the title of the ‘Federation’s Blade’?”
The aggressive tone of the barrage was alarming. He Ruge frowned and blocked the barrage, making the live broadcast room quieter all of a sudden. Perhaps the official realized that the current heat was all on Xi Guican, so many of the camera angles were focused on him.
Xi Guican on the screen looked completely different from the one in He Ruge’s memory. He stood on the platform of a giant warship, his cape rustling in the wind. At first, he patiently used his hand to hold down his military cap, with the brim covering half of his face. Later, perhaps because his arm was tired, he suddenly, without warning, threw the hat behind him, revealing his blue eyes as cold as an icy abyss.
His sharp gaze was like a weapon that could cut through people, and his handsome face showed no fear or bloodthirstiness, only complete indifference and calmness.
Wu Chengdeng, the official in charge of the Star Network live platform, was also watching the live broadcast. Sitting beside him was another high-level official of the dovish faction, Jin Wangcai.
“It seems that this serious illness has tempered Xi Guican’s madness.”
Jin Wangcai murmured with three large gold necklaces around his neck and all ten fingers adorned with gold rings.
“Before, there was a murderous aura in his eyes that even scared me. This time, he’s surprisingly calm in battle. Has the monster changed its nature?”
Wu Chengdeng coughed, shaking his head and said, “Not quite, not quite. In my opinion, Xi Guican is like a demonic sword, a bloodthirsty demonic sword. In the past, the sword didn’t have a scabbard. Anyone who touched the blade would be cut. Even if you didn’t do anything, just getting close to it and taking a look, you’d be frightened by the cold light it emitted.”
“But now this demonic sword has a scabbard. It no longer shows its edge because it has hidden everything. But once it’s unsheathed, it still draws blood and severs throats like before.” Wu Chengdeng sighed.
“What nonsense are you talking about again?” When Jin Wangcai got annoyed, he would start fidgeting with his rings.
He turned all ten rings around, “Where did the scabbard come from?”
Wu Chengdeng pulled up a recording of the “Lull You to Sleep” live room. “Here, this.”
Jin Wangcai leaned over to take a look, a fleeting moment of amazement flashed in his eyes, but this amazement was quickly suppressed by scrutiny. He examined the people in the live room like an experienced merchant evaluating goods.
He said disdainfully, “Just this?” The same words spoken in different tones conveyed completely different meanings.
Jin Wangcai said coldly, “A ceramic scabbard?”
The sound of cracking melon seeds rang out slowly and unhurriedly, and Wu Chengdeng smiled and said, “If he’s ceramic, then he’s the most precious ceramic in the world. Let me put it this way, for him, Xi Guican has taken the olive branch we extended to him…”
He intentionally paused for a moment, teasing the appetite of the golden leopard in front of him before saying, “And on that olive branch, grew a leaf.”
Jin Wangcai suddenly widened his eyes, “The candidate you talked to me about today from the dovish faction is Xi Guican! He’s finally joining our dovish faction!”
“I said it’s just a leaf on the olive branch. How could Xi Guican possibly join the dovish faction? He only wants to be a candidate for the dovish faction.”
Wu Chengdeng sighed deeply, “If only he would join. I’m getting old. I can’t sit still in the position of the official in charge of the Star Network live platform anymore.”
His wrinkled hand swept the melon seeds on the table into the trash can, and Wu Chengdeng whispered, “Some people in the hawkish faction have voracious appetites, even I, an old parrot, feel like they want to swallow me whole.”
“You all say that Xi Guican is a monster, but I feel that there is another monster hiding in the hawkish faction, fed by us bit by bit over the years…”
He Ruge, who was watching the live broadcast, was unaware that he had been discussed by the dovish faction’s high-level officials. As he looked at the screen, where the officer with silver hair and blue eyes stood, his long-lost teenage heart began to flutter.
He Ruge remembered the reason he was initially deceived into the game, it was because of the handsome military god who appeared at the start of the game, his aura as restrained as the summit of a snowy mountain. Yet, when he licked the bloodstains with a seductive grin, a dangerous allure filled with killing intent emerged.
With pale lips slightly parted, Xi Guican bit the fingertip of his left glove, pulling the black glove off. He unlocked the space ring with his fingerprint and took out the silver-white mech. The man swiftly and decisively flipped into the cockpit of the mech. As the cockpit door slammed shut, the portable recording devices were also blocked outside the door.
Although the Star Wars could be broadcasted live throughout, filming inside the mech’s cockpit without permission was prohibited, just like how celebrities were willing to show their faces to the camera, but it would be excessive if the camera were to intrude under their skirts.
The silver-white mech seemed like a commander, with a vast ocean of mechs behind it, as if with a command from Xi Guican, the mechs behind him would quickly mobilize and cause a tsunami. Ten giant warships resembled fortresses in the sky, distributed along the long boundary line between the eastern and western hemispheres.
He Ruge hadn’t seen so many mechs before, so he couldn’t help but compare the scene on the giant warships to an ocean of mechs. However, when the dark and overwhelming insectoids appeared, He Ruge realized he was mistaken.
The insectoids swarmed like locusts invading, their sheer number and grotesque appearance would make even those without trypophobia break out in goosebumps. Giant flying cockroaches and bloated moths formed a torrent rushing towards the giant warships. When a recording device captured a close-up of an insectoid’s mouthparts, He Ruge was so scared that he immediately sent out a barrage to shield his eyes.
“Damn! Why are there ten ultra-high-level insectoids this time?!”
“The insectoids also know that they’ve reached the boundary line of the 16th star to Something Sphere. They probably want to push directly to the eastern hemisphere in one go.”
“…Ten ultra-high-level insectoids, we’re finished. Even at his peak, Xi Guican could only kill two, but this time, the queen has released all of them.”
“It’s chilling. I don’t want to watch anymore.”
“Ten ultra-high-level insectoids have all come out. Does that mean there are no high-level insectoids on the 17th star? The queen is insane!”
“I’m a fan of Xi Guican, but now I really hope Xi Guican can be as invincible as those brain-dead fans praise, facing hundreds alone, invincible wherever he goes.”
He Ruge looked at the live broadcast, and there were several white dots in the dark swarm of insects, twice the size of ordinary insectoids and somewhat resembling moths in appearance.
Unlike moths, their insect wings were as thin as cicada wings, crystal clear, like knife blades made of crystal, almost identical to the coveted insect wings of the small monsters in the game. Upon counting, there were exactly ten white dots.
The ten ultra-high-level insectoids each pounced on one of the ten giant warships, reaping lives like wolves among sheep. The mech was only a quarter the size of the ultra-high-level insectoids.
When the thin wings of the insectoids lightly flapped, the sturdy mech shell was effortlessly cut in half. A single ultra-high-level insectoid only needed to flap its wings and fly recklessly around the warship like a headless fly, causing a “parting of the sea” wherever it went.
Was this the ultra-high-level insectoids mentioned in the barrage?
He Ruge’s heart couldn’t help but tighten. The barrage said that at his peak, Xi Guican could only deal with two ultra-high-level insectoids, so now, facing ten ultra-high-level insectoids after just recovering from a serious illness, Xi Guican was undoubtedly doomed to fail.
As one ultra-high-level insectoid dragged its bulky body towards the warship where Xi Guican was, the silver-white mech also rushed into the sky at the same time. The two mech arms transformed into slender blades, and this silver-white mech moved as fast as lightning, rushing to the front of the ultra-high-level insectoid at a speed that the naked eye couldn’t catch.
The mech elegantly stepped on the head of the insectoid, lifting the long blade, following a trajectory imbued with a strange rhythm, it broke through the muscles on the back of the insectoid, directly stabbing a certain point where the insect wings connected to the back.
Every mech pilot knew that the weak point on the insectoid’s body was a mysterious location where the insect wings connected to the back, which was the fatal spot on the insectoid’s body. However, no one knew exactly where that location was because the mysterious spot on each insectoid’s body was different.
But for Xie Guican, who was integrated with the demonic patterns, all the weaknesses of the insectoids were visible before him because he was the creator of the insectoids. He had once given everything to this race, and now he could take it all back.
The sharp blade plunged fiercely, smoothly cutting off the insect wings. Sticky blood gushed out from the wound like a fountain. The ultra-high-level insectoid let out a piercing scream of agony, too late to struggle, and fell straight from the sky. In the chaotic battle, no one noticed that the severed insect wings rapidly shriveled up, as if drained of energy.
Golden sunlight broke through the clouds and shone down from the sky, the silver-white mech reflected a dazzling light, and an intimidating aura enveloped the entire giant warship.
The barrage in the live broadcast room fell into a strange silence, and three seconds later, countless barrage messages surged out:
“Instant kill!”
“Ah, this is absolute strength crushing! Only one move!!!”
“The male god has become stronger! Those who call the male god a sickly man should roll out! This is clearly waiting for the right moment to unleash unstoppable force!”
“So terrifying, I’m doubting my own eyes.”
“Facing hundreds alone, unstoppable, the day when you return, Xi Guican, will be the day of the Federation’s triumph. Welcome back, Federation’s Blade.”
Can I get some nutrient solution to wipe Xi Guican’s mech?
Mechs also need maintenance, right?
